The false prophet will issue the infamous "mark of the beast." This will be the beginning of the "greater" tribulation lasting for a final forty-two months or 3 and 1/2 years (Rev. 13:5). The antichrist will have invaded and occupied half of Jerusalem (Zech 14:2). The antichrist has stopped the sacrifice at the Jewish Temple. "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days." (Dan. 12:11) Except the days are shortened there would be no flesh saved (Matt. 24:22). It will be a time of trouble such as never was in the history of the world (Dan. 12:1). The false prophet will be a man and a religious leader, a fallen Pope. The antichrist will be a man and a military leader, both will be under the control of the Dragon(Satan), the deceiver. When you read of the beast in the book of Revelation, it is the antichrist's 8th and final kingdom. The spirit of antichrist is the spirit that says Jesus is not the Son of God, that spirit already worketh in the world.
The false prophet will help initiate a buying and selling system. To CONTROL food distribution because of food shortages from the judgments (Rev. 6:5-6). To CONTROL the masses by religious conversion to the antichrist's religion (Rev. 13:16-18). To CONTROL the food supply because of famine and droughts (Rev. 18:8). They will know you are converted to Islam by the mark you receive to buy or sell, to eat food or sell. Mark is a Greek word that means to "scratch, an etching, or a stamp." The mark is placed on either the forehead or the right hand. The mark, name, and the number of the beast (antichrist last and final kingdom) is used to control the system. We are to come out of any system that is not based upon Jehovah God.
