We Must Wholeheartedly Obey God

The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorities; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates. See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore he would to your fathers- to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- and to their descendants after them." (Deuteronomy 1:6-8 NIV)

The Israelites were commanded by God through Moses to go up and take possession of their inheritance. God told them to not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Then all of them came to Moses and said, "Let us send men ahead to spy out the land for us and bring back a report about the route we are to take and the towns we will come to." Even Moses said the idea was good to him. So he selected twelve men, one from each tribe to go to the Valley of Eschcol to explore it. They took some fruit of the land back to camp and reported, "It is a good land that the Lord our God is giving us. But ten also said, "The people are stronger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the sky. We even saw the Anakites there." The Israelites did not trust God to bring them to the land flowing with milk and honey. They had been under the direction of God by way of a pillow of fire and a cloud leading them. They did not believe God would go before them and fight for them. Some people have to see to believe. The word of God says, "Blessed are they who do not see, yet believe." Only Caleb and Joshua were allowed to go in, not even Moses were allowed to enter, because he got angry and did not sanctify God before the people. The children who did not know good from bad went into the promised land. God will not tolerate ANY rebellion against him. Everyone will not be able to go into their promised land, if we do not forsake all of our sins and unbelief. We must conquer and remove every weight and sin. We must have a pure heart in order to see God and unfeigned faith. We must not let anyone discourage us. Keep guard of our eye gate, ear gate, mind and heart. Don't let nothing come between you and your destiny. OBEY GOD! KNOW THOSE AMONGST YOU! DISCERN!

  • Well said WOG, when GOD tells us to move, we must start moving by faith. the land was given to them, but they had to fight for it in the process of receiving it. sometimes we think its to difficult to conquer..majority doesn't always rule.Joshua and Caleb saw the glass half full. Trusting in God

  • For me it doesn't matter what others say, do, or think. I follow the directions of God. If He says don't allow them in your life I don't. It's all about obedience to Him.
