Marinating…but in What?“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 (ESV) Preparation is always a vital instrument.  Our ability to successfully outwit the adversary is dependent upon our “spiritual marinating sauce”.  It is imperative that we sensor the type of “marinating…

Apostle Trina Davis commented on Apostle Claudia Boatwright's blog post “P.E.A.C.E.” How can I still have peace?
"Recently my daughter and I reflected on how God’s presence can light our way through life’s hardest battles. We discovered that when you let His presence fill your life, fear quietly slips away and peace takes its place. Even in the deepest darkness, I believe His peace sweeps in, bringing the promise of victory. Whatever your path holds, you are never alone. God walks beside you, offering comfort and hope."

“P.E.A.C.E.”How can I still have peace? It doesn’t matter what you’re encountering….you can still have peace.  However, you must realize that God has given to you a strategy that must be implemented.  You must also realize that peace is not the absence of adversity – but a mindset.   So… How can you renew my mind to the extent that you can receive God’s solution and apply it to every situation?   The following can assist. P -“Presence” - If we invite the presence of God to intervene; (Exodus…

On your mark……Get set……WAIT! The waiting game!  For many of us, life seems to have given us a first class seat in this section of time called “waiting”.  We seem to always think that we are ready to advance to our next place.  We seem to think that we are focused and in the correct lane….we are disciplined and in the correct position ….yet we still haven’t heard the correct sound that signals us to move forward……so we WAIT. Waiting is a word that’s familiar to everyone – across the board.  From…

  • Luke 17:

7-9 When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, he doesn’t just sit down and eat, but first prepares his master’s meal and serves him his supper before he eats his own. And he is not even thanked, for he is merely doing what he is supposed to do. 10 Just so, if you merely obey me, you should not consider yourselves worthy of praise. For you have simply done your duty!”

  • Jesus used this moment to emphasize that a person’s confident, abiding faith combined with God’s will and power can produce absolutely amazing results. God is fully capable of doing that which man regards as impossible (Mark 14:36; James 4:3).

  • Luke 11:29

Jesus began to say, “This [present] generation is a wicked generation; it seeks a sign (attesting miracle), but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah [the prophet].

    Matthew 12:39-42

But He replied and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation [that is morally unfaithful

Luke 11: 30 For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man also be [a sign] to this generation.

Jonah spent three days in the belly of the great fish; Christ was resurrected three days after His death.

    Jonah 3:4-10

Then on the first day’s walk, Jonah began to go through the city, and he called out and said,..

Jonah 3:10 When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God [had compassion and] relented concerning the disaster which He had declared that He would bring upon them. And He did not do it.

    Luke 11: 33

“No one lights a lamp and then puts it in a cellar nor under a basket [hiding the light], but [instead it is put] on the lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34 The eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive, focused on God], your whole body also is full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts]. But when it is bad [spiritually blind], your body also is full of darkness [devoid of God’s word]. 35 Be careful, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness. 36 So if your whole body is illuminated, with no dark part, it will be entirely bright [with light], as when the lamp gives you light with its bright rays.”

    Luke 11:43-52

“What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you love to sit in the seats of honor in the synagogues and receive respectful greetings as you walk in the marketplaces. 44 Yes, what sorrow awaits you! For you are like hidden graves in a field. People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on.” 45 “Teacher,” said an expert in religious law, “you have insulted us, too, in what you just said.” 46 “Yes,” said Jesus, “what sorrow also awaits you experts in religious law! For you crush people with unbearable religious demands, and you never lift a finger to ease the burden. 47 What sorrow awaits you! For you build monuments for the prophets your own ancestors killed long ago. 48 But in fact, you stand as witnesses who agree with what your ancestors did. They killed the prophets, and you join in their crime by building the monuments!

49 This is what God in his wisdom said about you: ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them, but they will kill some and persecute the others.’

50 “As a result, this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God’s prophets from the creation of the world— 51 from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, it will certainly be charged against this generation.

52 “What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.”

  • Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’

  • How should I record my business transactions?

A good recordkeeping system includes a summary of your business transactions. Business transactions are ordinarily summarized in books called journals and ledgers. You can buy them at your local stationery or office supply store.

journal is a book where you record each business transaction shown on your supporting documents. You may have to keep separate journals for transactions that occur frequently.

ledger is a book that contains the totals from all of your journals. It is organized into different accounts.

Electronic Records: All requirements that apply to hard copy books and records also apply to business records which are maintained using electronic accounting software, point of sale software, financial software or any other electronic records system. The electronic system must provide a complete and accurate record of your data that is accessible to the IRS.

Whether you keep paper or electronic journals and ledgers and how you keep them depends on the type of business you are in. For example, a recordkeeping system for a small business might include the following items:

    • Business checkbook
    • Daily and monthly summary of cash receipts
    • Check disbursements journal
    • Depreciation worksheet
    • Employee compensation records

Note: The system you use to record business transactions will be more effective if you follow good recordkeeping practices. For example, record expenses when they occur, and identify the sources of income. Generally, it is best to record transactions on a daily basis. For additional information on how to record your business transactions, refer to  Publication 583, Starting a Business and Keeping Records.
