Bitterness is one of the most common demons we encounter in deliverance. Bitterness is like a poison that can affect a person spiritually and physically. Bitterness can be the result of hurt, rejection, and disappointment. Unforgiveness is the open door for bitterness. Forgiveness is absolute necessity in deliverance. Unforgiveness will block a person from receiving deliverance. Bitterness is also the root cause of many infirmities.

Generally, after a person becomes rejected, they become bitter and unforgiving. The opposite of bitterness is forgiveness.
Bitterness is defined as bitterly curse, rebellious, sharp, acrid, grief, embitter, poisonous, violently, provoke, vex, grieve, sorrow, bitter herb, calamity, bile, venom, angry, chafed, most bitterly, rebel and provoke.

DEALING WITH BITTERNESS (EXCERPTS) - Bitterness is a hurt that will not heal, a wound in the spirit (Prov. 18:14). It comes into a life because of a failure to appropriate God's grace (Heb. 12:15); by refusing to forgive others (Matt. 6:14-15; 7:1-2; 18:21-35); or refusing to thank God for all things (Eph. 5:20; Phil. 4:6). Forgiveness is the most important thing that God has taught us about DELIVERANCE!"

Ive asked God to remove everything that was blocking me from him and the Spirit of Bitterness is one that I have a problem with....It's hard to forgive once you have been hurt and people walk up in your face as if they have done nothing wrong....I'm still praying and asking to be delivered from this......
when the Lord first Saved me bitterness wasn't one of the areas I had to deal with although rejection was one of them...

I agree that the roots of bitterness causes a lot of unnecessary heartaches, headaches, pain and suffering as now I have been able to identify the "root" causes of things that I've been experiencing. BUT GOD! I declare and decree that I shall be healed from this manner of sickness and disease in the name of Jesus! I curse it at the root and command it to go back to the dry places in the name of Jesus. Never to return to my temple (body, mind, and spirit) and household again in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus! AMEN, AMEN and AMEN.

AMEN! Wow! Reading this short, but POWERFUL passage immediately "spoke" to my spirit on why I am experiencing some things. I have fallen short in a couple of areas and am going back into the "secret" place so that I can be 100% DELIVERED (and HEALED) from the hurts of the past.

We have to deal with root of bitterness, it can creep up.. We gotta learn how to forgive others like Jesus forgave us... AMEN
The root of bitterness causes a lot of unnecessary heartaches, suffering, and pain, not just to oneself but to those around U. A bitter root can only bear bitter fruit. It is important for believers to recognize any bitterness they are harboring. Holding on to unforgiveness and bitterness U r only killing yourself physically , mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually. Scripture informs us to let it be put away from US. Letting go past , living the renewed life in Christ.Bitterness is unhealthy. There is nothing sweet about bitterness, so why do Believers use the term bittersweet?
Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness an wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Forgiveness is a hard thing especially when you have been hurt by the one you love, the one you thought had your back the one you depended on. How can we ask God to forgive us when have never seen Him but hold on to wrath and hatred for family, friends, co-workers and even strangers.
