Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask and it will be given unto you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:7-11 NIV)

Prayer is a means for obtaining what we need from God. We are to pray often, making a business of prayer, and be serious and earnest in it. Ask as a traveller ask the way to reach a destination when they are lost. Seek God as you would something of value that you need to find. Knock, as when you desire to enter your house, when your house key is missing and you need to get in. Sin has shut and barred the door against us, by prayer we knock. Remember, whatever you pray for, according to the will and word of God, it shall be given unto you. Everyone that asketh receiveth, whether Jew or Gentile, young or old, rich or poor, high or low, master or servant, learned or unlearned, all are alike welcome to the throne of grace, if you come in faith. If our earthly parents know how to give gifts to us, how much more so God, who is all-wise. Let us never suppose our heavenly Father would bid us to pray and then refuse to hear or give us what would be hurtful. He knows what we need, what we desire, and what is fit for us. GOD HEARS AND ANSWERS PRAYER!
