Isaiah 61:1-3

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Good News of Salvation

61 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

  • This is what were called to due in the ministry 'because that's the will of the father.

  • "From Grief To Gladness." It comes from the words in verse three. In the place of ashes the Lord is giving them a crown. In the stead of grief the Lord is giving them the oil of gladness. In exchange for darkened hearts the Lord is giving them robes of praise. This is good news being given to a grieving people. It is gospel. It is the delightful promise of God.

  • Praise God! his love endures forever, he brought me from a mighty long way in this season Hallelujah! I'm receiving double for shame and confusion, I give him all the glory and praise! all i can say my Lord! my Lord! Fill my cup Lord.

  • I have to say wow again! I just believe this is our job description in the body of Christ. There are so many out there that need help under this very description.
  • "Many are called but few are chosen!" What an honor in itself to be one who God has chosen and anointed to preach the good news. He has called us to set the captives free, to love on those who are brokenhearted.

    God is awesome in his ways!

    I am often on Film or TV Sets with my kids. On Sets I have tons of time to be busy for the Lord. As I write I am on Set now. The day before one lady in particular spotted one of my books and she smiled and said that's a Christian book, I smiled back and said, "Yes it is," then I proceeded to tell her about the book in question and then I began to Minister to her, I was led to tell her this or that. After I shared what God put on my heart she began to open up. Once she opened up I knew exactly why we were talking. She asked me how she should pray for her particular situation and I gave her spiritual advice as God led me.

    I see this lady on different Sets, we smile and say, "Hi, and then go about our business, but on that day it was by divine appointment Set by my boss. Today I saw her again she gave me another big hug and asked for my number!

    These are the appointments that truly bless my Soul! Thanking God for every opportunity to be used.

  • I am so grateful to have been saved again. That he loves me so much to welcome me with open arms into his warm embrace, but this time he has the intentions to keep me there and I intend on staying right there with him. I am grateful that all things are built by him. He knows all that we need way before some of us are even born. I am grateful for hi grace and mercy Love You Dad!!!

  • Just thanking God for all the shame and confusion that I had to go through he is going to give me double for my troubles.

    This is one of my favorite scriptures double for my trouble and shame and confusion.  Very powerful scripture. The garment of  praise for the spirit of heaviness. The oil of joy for mourning. To proclaim liberty to the captives   The opening of prison to those that are bound. Beauty for ashes.  This sounds like more than double for your trouble.  For my shame I shall have double and for the confusion behind the shame I will posses the double.  Every time the devil shames and confuses me I shall have double for my trouble.

  • There is freedom and liberty in Christ, just knowing him for yourself is so rewarding and amazing, God is so awesome.

    My God I know that I carry the Lord with me daily. I love how He uses me to encourage, inspire, comfort, pray over, teach and witness to those who don't know Him and want to get to know Him. God is so so awesome. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is LIBERTY!
