Lagniappe Year- 2013

I decree this is your Lagniappe (Lan-yap) season. Lagniappe (Creole for “something extra”). I decree 2013 to be a Lagniappe Year. I got this Word from Agape House (Freeport, Bahamas, Tony and Anne Grant). This season and the next year will be a year of EXTRA, bonuses, and increase.

Although I was familiar with this word, I had never heard it mentioned in Church, or prophetically, until I ministered in a church in Freeport, Bahamas. When I walked in the service, I saw a sign in the church saying, “this is my Lagniappe Season.” I was surprised because many people are not familiar with Lagniappe, and it immediately hit my spirit.

Lagniappe (pronounce Lan-yap) is French word which was used commonly among French Creole store owners in Louisiana. It was used like this: a customer would order five pounds of sugar for example. The store owner would fill his customer’s bag with the sugar and then add one additional scoop while saying “lagniappe” (which is French for “a little extra”.) The Jamaicans use the term “bratwa,” meaning bonus or extra; more than expected.

I told the pastors what I felt and said I will speak this for the year 2013. In other words, let this be a Lagniappe year and season for your life. Give extra, praise extra, worship extra, prayer extra, meditate extra. Don’t do just enough, but do something extra, and receive EXTRA form heaven. Let this year be your Lagniappe year. Let bonuses and surplus hit your life.

This is interesting because a bakers’s dozen is 13. In other words instead of 12 you get 13, something extra. Let 2013 be the year of extra, Extra favor, extra glory, extra, faith, extra power, extra grace, extra finances, extra love, extra peace, extra joy, extra mercy, extra wisdom etc. Decree and believe God for EXTRA!!!!! Receive more than you expect.
