It is Written: He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ASCENDING and DESCENDING on it. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have PROMISED you.” When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, SURELY THE LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it. “How awesome is this place! Jacob saw a vision of a ladder which reached from earth to heaven the angels ascending and descending upon it and God himself was at the head of it. This represented the providence of God where constant correspondence was kept between heaven and earth, the wisdom of God was at the upper end of the ladder, the vision gave Jacob a seasonable comfort letting him know he had a good guide and a good guard, in his going out and coming in. Fresh promises were made to Jacob, God promise to keep him because he had a long way to travel to a unknown place, God had already seen all that Jacob was going to face in his uncles service, that's why God promise to preserve him in all places. Jacob was going as an exile into a distant place but God promised to bring him back again to this land, Jacob turned his back on everything but God gave him the reassurance that he would not leave him, he had God's special presence with him in that place so he set a stone for a pillar and poured oil on it for his gratitude to God for the vision he showed him .

  • This was an awesome experience Jacob had. God is faithful to bring the things He promises to pass.
  • God is faithful to every promise He makes. and is often used in a technical sense of God's design to visit His people redemptively in the person of His son Jesus. This promise is first given in (Gen 3:15) is repeated to Abraham (Gen.12:2,7) and to King David that his house would continue on His Throne. (11 Sam. 7:12,13,28) And is found repeatedly in the Old Testament( Isa. 2:2-5,4 55:5, etc). NT all these promises are regarded as having their fulfillment in Christ and His disciples.( 2 Cor 1:20, Eph. 3:6 ). Jesus promise of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled at Pentecost. Paul makes clear that God's promises to Abraham's seed were meant not only for the circumcision but for all who had Abraham's faith  ( Rom.4:13-16).In the New testament there are many PROMISE'S- of--BLESSINGS to believer's, among them the KINGDOM( James 2:5), ETERNAL LIFE  ( 1 Tim. 4:8), CHRIST'S Coming (2 Pet. 3:9). God's covenant promise to Abraham and Isaac was offered to Jacob as well. But it was not enough to be Abraham's grandson, Jacob had to establish his own personal relationship with God. God has no grandchildren; everybody needs to have their own personal relationship with Him, that's why it is called personal. Tailor made just for you. It is not enough to hear the wonderful stories about Jesus, We all need to become part of the story ourselves.  ( Gal. 3:6) In the same way Abraham believed God and God counted him as righteousness because of his faith. The real children of Abraham are those who put their FAITH in GOD, not those who keep the law. Abraham himself was saved by his faith. (Gen 15:6) Every believer, in every age and in every nation share Abraham's blessing. This is a comforting promise, a great heritage for us,and a solid foundation for living. TYL..Bless your name Jesus.
