6 Ways to Be Intentional about a Joy-filled Life:

  • Seek out moments of stillness. Quiet reflection. Prayer. Remember treasured moments. Use your senses. Listen to the birds, smell the roses, feel the crispness of the morning. Joy grows in this field.
  • Use a journal to summarize those treasured moments. A simple way to do this is to jot down 2 or 3 things each evening that happened in your day. Moments that you want to remember forever.
  • Look for things to smile about, praise your children for, and tell them you love them.
  • Let go of worry. This may be very difficult, but choosing to focus on joy and not on the anxiety in your life is the first step.
  • Let go of grudges. The negative things in life are often things we can’t change anyway. Don’t waste your efforts on them. Focus on the good and lovely!
  • Choose joy. Every moment of life offers a choice. Be aware of what you are choosing… and choose wisely.
