True Story: Two Brothers one kept flocks, and the other worked the soil.
In the course of time the oldest brother, brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord.
The youngest brother, also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock.
The Lord looked with favor on the youngest brother and his offering, but on the older brother and his offering he did not look with favor.
The oldest brother was very angry, and his face was downcast.
God said to the oldest brother: Why is your face downcast?
God said: If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?
God said: But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
Now the oldest brother to his brother “Let’s go out to the field. While they were in the field, the oldest brother attacked his brother and killed him.
The Lord said to older brother, “Where is your brother?”
The oldest brother said, “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. (Gen 4-vs-2-10, Cain and Abel). God taking me back to the beginning, I ask him a question WHY, HOW, WHEN, and WHERE? Now he is given me all the answers, it might be an all nighter!!!(Speak Lord, for your daughter is listen)...

It is about accountability, it's vital when we are called to do the work of The Lord. Fully and whole without excuse or complaint giving God the best of our service in kingdom building. We know what God requires of us. We cannot pretend like we don't know what is pleasing to God what he honors and what displeases him. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren,by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service. Abel thought only of himself and made a fleshly decision that cost him to greatlyp. I take this story to heart. Because no matter what someone may or may not have done to you it is an issue you have to put before God and not have ought or handle it ourselves because our words or actions out of anger can cause death to someone spirit. We are our brothers keeper. Iron sharpens Iron.
Pastor Teyshana, I think this too, is a study on accountability. It's soo amazing that instead of Cain trying to get his stuff right, he automatically looked to his brother as the reason why his offering wasn't acceptable. Able didn't have one single thing to do with why Cain's offering was unsuitable, I believe that it had more to do with Cain's heart and the intentions that lay within it.
I say this because look at what happened. Cain got upset with his brother, and not only did he murder him, but the murder was premeditated. He lured his brother out to the field with the intention of killing him. Those evil intentions were already in his heart when he went to God with his offering.
God reads moree than our actions. God reads the very intent of our hearts. Jeremiah 17:9:10a says that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked... who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins.
That's the answer.. God knows. God knows our hearts. God searches it, and trys or tests the reins. So whenever we seek to bring God an offering, it would serve us well to ask Him to clean up our hearts first. If our hearts are more deceitful than anything else, without hope of a cure, then it stands to reason that there just may be some things laying around in there that we don't even know about.
That's why it's soo important to go to God, asking "create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" Psalm 51:10
God is the only one who searches the heart, sees what's in there, and has the ability to clean it up.
I yield my heart to you again God... search me again... if u find any wicked way in me, clean it up. In Jesus name...
