  • Demons feared Jesus because they knew their time was up and know that Jesus has the authority to destroy them.  They wanted to remain where they were.  It is as though they were complacent, such as we get.  How many of us like to move?  We get settled in a home or our residence and we are comfortable.  Suppose we have to move after 20 years, not because we want to, but some circumstance cause us to be displaced even for the better; the dread of packing up and find a new home is dreadful.  It appears to me that demons are incapable of finding a new home for fear of destruction.

.. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father

John 14:12 does not mean that man exceeded Jesus in terms of the works he has done. There’s nobody who comes close to the work that Jesus did. Some say that perhaps we can’t do greater works than Jesus individually but that corporately we are able to exceed in power the things that Jesus did.  put them all together, and see if they measure a greater degree than those which our Lord performed. If Jesus meant that people would do greater miracles.  “Greater works than these will you do,” he was referring to the whole scope of the impact of Christ’s people and his church on the world throughout history.

  • Praise God Pastor LaShawn (3D) Davis spoke the words from my mouth that I would have said. She answered the questions just as I would have answered them, verbatim (word for word).  Pastor TraShawn Love -Williams also was very precise with her response. As well as others, Sister Kira Hatcher, Sister Jennifer Scott, and Pastor Shaloria Mitchell, all mothers precious daughters of Zion. So may mother please add a little food for thought. The most important thing you have going for you in both sets of relationship is "that you already have a relational bridge." Your friends and family knew what your life was like before you met Christ. Now they will have the chance to see you afterward. In (Mark 5:1-5) our lesson... and (6-20) Jesus recognized this was the case with the man he just had cleansed from demon possessions. So he sent him back home. We are Christ's hand picked representative, His Ambassadors. If people want to know what God is like, all they have to do is look at us. God does not expect us to be perfect, but He does expect our faith to grow. (Rom.10:17) and He expects us to try to live more like Jesus. (Rom.12:1-2). The people around you will be able to relate to your progress not to your perfection, Progress might be slow at first, but eventually, as you give areas of your life to Christ's control, changes will become noticeable. When this happens you may notice others starting to ask questions about your new faith. Don't worry, you may feel inadequate about answering some of their questions, our responsibility is to share what God has done for us and what we have learned. Not to be a Bible expert. Sharing and living our faith, and maturing in the faith is as important as being a Bible scholar. God is not limited by our lack of knowledge. Though Christians sometimes face unique hardship. Jesus knows that as with the Gaderene demonic, your changed life may have much greater impact on those with whom you have relational bridges already built than a stranger. Demons know who Jesus is the creator and the destroyer of everything that is, and ever will be in heaven and on earth. With fear and trembling they respect Him. The greater works is not the quality but as was stated the quantity. And this changing world is waxing worse than that in the biblical days. Jesus ministry was only 3 1/2 years, He sent His HOLY SPIRIT back to empower, equip, and enable all man kind that believes in His finished work on Calvary, His death, burial, and resurrection, and who are obedient to His will, His word and His way to continue spreading the truth, The Gospel of deliverance, salvation, and Eternal life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and our Redeemer. Mother: Pastor Shirley Lee

  • The demons knew the power Jesus had because their father(satan) was a angel at one time until he thought he just had to be in control abd was kicked out. He already knew that God was no joke and he was no match for God. God has total control, when He died n rose again He got up with all power in His hands. Jesus did alot of miracoulis miracles, healing, delivering. Even when He cast the legions out and got into the pigs they even had sense enough to jump over the cliff and drown themselves. He said we would do greater works because we have Him to lead and guide us, when Jesus came down as a natural man he cried, wept, hungered, thrist, had feelings. So He knew what we were going through as human beings and He gave us power to do all things in His name.

  • No one can ever do greater works than Jesus, he healed the sick, raised the dead, made the blind see, cast out demons. .....so the greater works would have to be greater works in the spirit and hearts of others.

  • The demons knew who Jesus was and the authority he had over them, they knew that he would not allow any unclean spirit to dwell in his presence, also Jesus came with one purpose and that was to restore the people back to God, those that were sick, demon possessed etc. we're delivered and as a testament many people believed the message. How can you hear the message when you are afflicted, how can you receive when you are bond, the sickness and demons had to be cast out. The demons knew Jesus was there to cast them out and they had no choice but to leave.

Jesus said greater works shall you do, because he knew that his time was short and that the disciples would have to truly depend on Gods power and authority in their lives, that their ministries would be on a larger scale and for a longer period of time. They would do more, because more was required, they now how to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in order for restoration to come.
  • The unclean spirits feared Jesus because they knew He had all authority and power over them. When u know that someone has the rule over you. You develop a healthy fear of them. Knowing that they can do whatever hey choose to do with you.

When Jesus said that we would do greater works, I believe He was speaking of greater as in quantity, not quality. I'm not sure what works could exceed in quality, the miracles that Jesus performed. So again, I have to believe He meant quantity.

Seeing that Jesus' ministry only lasted 3 years, there was much that He did, but oh so much more that He left for the Apostles to do. Their ministries last much longer. They were able to reach more people, not only thru their works, but by establishing local churches who them continued to make known the gospel of Jesus Christ.
