When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappodocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs- we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!" Amazed and perplexed, they asked on another, "What does this mean?" Some, however, made fun fun of them and said, "They have had too much wine." (Acts 2:1-13 NIV)

We have to be mindful not to mock the holy spirit in any kind of way, we have to ask God to help us to understand what is taking place in our midst, one thing about God he will allow us to understand and give us divine revelation. Only God can do something this incredible where everyone is on one accord and can understand in his/her own language the declaration of God's great deeds.

Amen, Lord allow a loud sound come into our homes, hearts, minds, and Spirits. Send your mighty rushing wind Oh God, and give us a refill. Hallelujah!!!
Pentecost is the Feast of the Firstfruits. This was a good time for the Spirit to first come. Jesus was the firstfruits from the dead and the Spirit is the "firstfruits" of the salvation blessings to the believer. The disciples were all together in one place praying and in UNITY awaiting the Holy Spirit. Suddenly God gives them signs of sound and sight of his presence. The sound is from heaven and is like the blowing of a violent wind. The tongues that appear seemed to be flames of fire. The sound fills the house, what has arrived is God's divine presence. The divided tongues like flames of fire, rested upon each one of them. This symbolize the Spirit of God and his power. You shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit comes upon you to witness. Those who have this outward sign also have an inner filling with the Holy Spirit. This lead to a futher external manifestation of God's presence. It is the first of many fillings the believers will know.
As the Spirit inspires their speech, the believers are speaking in human languages, spoken somewhere in the world. In any age, we should expect to find a church filled with the Holy Spirit, powerfully enabled to bear witness to Christ and his gospel. God has not abandoned his church. If he sent his Spirit before, he can do it again. If we are not experiencing the Spirit's filling, it is because we have not met the conditions of expectancy in prayer and cleansed lives. The Holy Spirit cannot dwell in an unclean temple.
The Spirit attracted a crowd. You see, it is the Spirit that does the drawing. There were people from every nation. They were confused and astonished that they could hear in their own language the declaration of God's great deeds. What a strong impact the Pentecost event had on the on-lookers! They marveled that by a miracle of speaking and hearing they could understand the words in each of their own language. They rejoiced in God, knowing he spoke in their language. There were some who wanted to know why this miracle was happening. Others mocked, accusing the believers of being drunk with wine. How should we respond to the work of the Spirit in our midst? We must avoid mockery. We must allow the Holy Spirit to prepare our heart if we are to accomplish or realize the full purpose of the work of the Holy Spirit.
