The Power of AMEN by Apostle John Eckhardt

.................... THE POWER OF AMEN "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, "Amen!" Praise the Lord!" (Ps. 106:48) Did you know that our God is the God of Truth, or the God of AMEN. ... In Isaiah 65:16, the Authorized Version has "the God of truth," which in Hebrewis "the God of Amen." AMEN is a powerful word that many Christians use without understanding it's meaning or power. God commanded his people to say amen when agreeing to the covenant at Sinai. They were affirming the words of the covenant and sealing there agreement with an AMEN. Blessings were also received and sealed with AMEN. When you say AMEN you are saying you are in agreement with what is being said or declared, so be careful what you say AMEN to. You don't want to say AMEN to something that is not TRUE. You do not want to BIND YOURSELF and commit yourself to what is not true by saying AMEN. AMEN means TRUTH. The term Amen is used biblically to acknowledge the validity of a saying and its reliability – so be it. In John's gospel alone, it is often used by him in this way double, Verily, verily. At the end of a sentence it is often used, singly or repeated, especially at the end of hymns and prayers; as "Amen and Amen," Psalm 41:13 72:19 89:52. The proper signification of it here is, to confirm the words which have preceded, assert the sincerity and invoke the fulfilment of them: so it is, so be it, let it be done.
