Our Young Men Are Always Under Attack!

(Note: With the recent happenings in Ferguson, Missouri; many have requested this to be reposted.  Also let our focus extend to all of the families who are and have been ill-treated!)

It has always been the intention of our adversary to prevent the manifestation of God’s divine plans and purposes…especially concerning the men.   The Lord had inspired me to write the prayer below quite a few years ago; however I recently found it and began using it again.

The attack on the minds of our young men is far greater now than in prior times.  However, when we pray…God will honor our petitions that we place before Him.  I would like to encourage you to take a stand and to zero in on some of the young men in your life, in your family, in your church, and in your community.  Claim the promises of God for their lives.  Remember, we never have to beg God to do something.  We only need to decree, stand in faith and WAIT for the manifestation…..because God never fails!

PRAYER FOR OUR MEN ©2007

Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you for the opportunity to life these young men up to you.  I also thank you that these men will fulfill your decreed plans and purposes for their lives.  As an intercessor, I stand and ask that you; Elchaynu Seichot - Our God of forgiveness; will forgive their acts of omission and commission towards you.  I decree that they will begin to rise up and assume their rightful places in this earth.  I dismantle, and break from their lives the power of all negative word curses that they have received unto their spirits.  I disengage previous thoughts and behavioral patterns that have been contrary to and that have delayed the full manifestation of your blessings in their lives.  I decree that they will now begin to operate as your priest in every area of their lives without delay.

I speak healing to their entire being, in the name of YHVH ROPHE….God our healer.  Healing to the area of their minds that encases their emotions, their thoughts, their imaginations, and their reasonings.  Permit their minds to healed to the extent that they will not bow nor submit to the spirits of; humiliation, loneliness, discouragement or rejection.   YHVH BORE- God our creator; restore and create anew their spirits, creativity and dreams.

Stress and anxiety be gone in the name of Jesus.  I decree and declare that they are totally healed; physically, totally healed psychologically, and totally healed spiritually in the name of Jesus.

Through the power of YHVH PERAZIM – the God of Breakthrough; I call forth a breakthrough anointing that will uproot the spirit of anger, dismantle rage and dissolve bitterness in the name of Jesus.  I decree that the blood of Jesus will infiltrate every wounded area of their being and further cleanse any and every area not named or known to me….but known to you EL DE’OT.. the God of knowledge,

Now Lord, since they have been set free; I decree that your peace will begin to manifest itself in their lives.  I ask that they will sense and feel the newness in their spirits and begin to respond positively and offer no resistance to this total healing process.  I ask that you will send anointed men into their lives to assist them in this new place.  I decree that they will begin to develop new relationships with other like caliber men.  I decree and declare the manifestation and activation of their God appointed spiritual covering.   Father God, I ask that you will reveal to them the proper mentors whom you have already assigned and prepared for them.  Men who are already picking them up in the realm of the spirit and who will intercede for them on a regular basis.  Reveal male intercessors who know the struggles and aspirations of our young men.  Intercessors who will not come down from their appointed places of intercession for these young men – until you release them from their assignments…in the name of Jesus.

I also call forth the manifestation of every spiritual gift in them.  Those gifts that you have placed in them even before the foundation of the world; will manifest at the appointed time and not be delayed.  I speak that you will open doors of opportunity for these young men to minister to young other men.  I also decree that every door that you have not opened will be permanently sealed – never to be opened again.

Lastly, Lord God, I ask that you will honor this prayer and manifest every request according to your already decreed word recorded in: Job 22:27 & 28; I John 5:14 & 15 and in Matthew 18:19 in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Faith Progression

The Faith Progression

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”  Luke 11:9 & 10

It appears that many Christians believe that the intensity exerted when praying; or the volume of their voices when praying; reflects their ability to receive an immediate response to their request.  They haven’t realized that God is not impressed with the words that they may use…. Or the urgency that they seem to be experiencing!  They fail to realize that every situation that they embark upon is designed to bring them into a place where their total dependence is on the Lord.  God always desires that our level of faith be increased …. And that we don’t become to worry nor lose our focus.

I often refer to Paul’s request to the Lord in reference to the “thorn in the flesh”.  The Bible specifically states that he sought the Lord three times.  Why was the number of times mentioned? Could it be that Paul wasn’t accustomed to making a request that many times?  Today, Paul would have said, “Come on Lord…I’ve already asked you 3 times…what’s up?  Why haven’t you done what I’ve asked you yet?”

Now, I know enough about God, my Father, to understand that He is omniscient (all knowing, all seeing and very well informed!).  Therefore God doesn’t have to place me in a given situation and watch my reactions or responses to know what I will do.  He has already known exactly what my responses will be prior to me even being born.

However, I must undergo a progression in my level of faith that will bring forth to me the manifestation and the revelation of God’s response to my request.  Sometimes we can simply “Ask”- something….and the answer is given.  Everyone has that level of faith.  Then there are times when we must dig a little deeper.. – the “Seeking” level.  (It’s like when you can’t find something and someone else comes in… moves a few things around and discovers what you couldn’t find! You may have looked -but they sought.)  The seeking level is when the revelation of an answer to our prayers may require that our level of faith be increased to the extent, that we can see the answer that God has already given to us.

Then there’s the “Knocking” level.  Knocking expresses repetitive motion.  It implies that there is a barrier or a blockage in front of me – something preventing me from gaining that access that I so desire.  So at this level, God is attempting to get me to advance outside of my comfort zone. The knocking level of faith implies that I’m not longer praying the same prayer; but I’m praying strategically, focused in faith.  I’ve taken the necessary measures to destroy whatever is preventing me from receiving the access to God’s response to my request. In other words…the spiritual tone of my praying has shifted.

Walking by faith in God requires that we understand the principles of Asking, Seeking and Knocking.  Strangely enough, if we take the first letter from each of those words we will form the word “ASK”.  Therefore, the faith progression could simply be that we’ve learned to:

                                                 Approach the throne of God,

Scripturally present for my request,

                                                 Keep my focus until……!!!

I Can't Fail

I Can’t Fail

“And this is the confidence that we have in him that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”                          I John 5:14 & 15

Walk today as if you have already received everything that the Lord has promised! Wisdom, wealth and riches are in your hand.  God has already placed within your hand the valuable keys which will give you access to every resource needed. However, you must use every available avenue (connections, education, talents, gifts, etc… – use them all!) to receive the manifestation of the promises.

God has already heard your request, positionally established you, and strategically aligned every detail concerning the manifestation of your request and petitions.

Reread the recorded accounts of Joseph’s life (Genesis 37-45) and compare them to your life.  He went from the pasture to the pit, to the prison and then to the palace. Also, ask God to reveal to you your three key people….Your butler (the person who will open the doors for you); your Pharaoh (the person who will give you access to unlimited resources); and your baker (the person who will assist you in pulling everything together).

Just like Joseph, I can’t fail!  Why can I not fail? Simply because there is no failure in God.  As long as I maintain my focus – even when the circumstances produce unfavorable and unexpected results – I still haven’t failed.  I am determined that even in the times and experiences that others may view as failures; I will learn how to perfect or correct.  Therefore, I have still gained something during the entire experience!  I am emerging wiser, more conscientious or more patient.  Whether in my pasture, my pit, or my prison…. I KNOW that I’m being prepared to reign in my palace!  In other words, I have still been increase through every situation….that’s why I can’t fail!

Trust God! He can’t fail you – REGARDLESS!! Whatever you would do …. if you were assured that you would succeed …DO IT!  He IS able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than you could ever ask or think.

The ball is in your court… the bat is in your hand.  You have thought that you were waiting for God …..But in all actuality - He is waiting for You!

“…….The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse.” James 2:26 (The Message Bible)

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Who or What is Your Strong Tower?

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”

                                                                                                                            Proverbs 18:10

Although we might not realize it, we all have a strong tower.  Our strong tower can be identified by the stronghold(s) that are apparent in our lives.  Our ability to endure in the times of adversity, calamity and devastation is dependent upon the strength of whatever is supporting us – and the guidelines that are already established in our minds.

Proverbs 18:10 tells us that the NAME of the Lord is a strong tower.  So this is establishing that it doesn’t matter whatever oppositions may come my way – if I can attach a name to that “problem” – the NAME of the Lord will override that adverse situation.  Every tower in our lives can become subjected to the strongest tower – who is the Lord.  For example anything that has a name – cancer is only a name; lack - only a name; poverty – only a name; it doesn’t matter what it is.  If you can call it by ITS name; then there is another NAME that will overpower, override and completely eradicate it.  Hallelujah!!!

However, usually our problem is that we have “ungodly strongholds” established in our minds.  Therefore, we have conditioned ourselves to run into the lesser towers instead of the ultimate Strong Tower. Nahum 1:7 reminds us that the Lord is a good and strong hold in the day of trouble.   So since He is a “strong hold” – we should establish Him as our “stronghold”.

Now in reverse, Proverbs 12:12 states that the wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers (NIV).  Note: there is a difference between the wicked and the unsaved.

So, begin to recondition mind – prior to the onset of trouble.  Start by daily confessing – out loud - my mind is renewed! Confess that, “Lord, you are my strong tower and my stronghold”.  Then in the natural – you must call upon the Lord FIRST when problems arise.  Instead of running to your phone, instead of texting someone, instead of running to: FB, Twitter or Instagram, – Go to the Lord first!

It’s only when we learn to acknowledge Him first in ALL of our ways that we can make the statement that He is the Lord of our lives…that He is our strong tower.  Then we will yield to His guidance and He will be able to direct our path and give us the peace that surpasses all understanding….. allowing us to be more than conquerors – REGARDLESS!

“Where does your security lie? Is God your refuge, your hiding place, your stronghold, your shepherd, your counselor, your friend, your redeemer, your Saviour, your guide? If He is, you don't need to search any further for security.”                                                   Elisabeth Elliot

Your're An Eagle - So Soar!

You’re An Eagle – So Soar!

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagle……………. Isaiah 40:31

There was a time when many of life’s lessons were taught to children through various Bible stories or through secular tales and fables.  One of my most remembered stories is the one entitled, “The Ugly Duckling”.  To summarize the entire story; there was one duckling there was drastically unlike the other ducks.  It just didn’t belong.  However one day, it was discovered that this ugly duckling wasn’t really a duck – but a swan…. A beautiful swam!

Sometimes in our lives we are not progressing simply because we are attempting to force ourselves into conforming to a standard that is totally contrary to our natural composure.  As a child of the most high God, you are called to be an eagle.  You are called to extend your wings, to lift your head, and to soar high above any and every obstruction.  Many of us are still possessing the mentally and character traits of a common pigeon.  We gather on the ground in clusters, and flutter from one crumb to the next.

An eagle is the only bird that loves a storm.  Other birds will flee from storms; however the eagle will fly into a storm.  They will allow the winds from the storm to quickly lift them higher. When in a storm, an eagle will lock its wings in place, just soar and enjoy the ride. You are an eagle!  So when you’re in a storm – focus on the Word of God and nothing else.  Open your mouth and speak to that storm!  Rebuke the spirit of fear.  Receive the spirit of peace.  Then you will have the ability to ride out the storm in victory!

Eagles have keen vision, are fearless, tenacious, nurturing, full of vitality, and love to fly in high altitudes.  So in spite of how you may view yourself or how others view you – remember… you are an eagle.  An eagle also has an extremely wide wingspan.  Therefore, because the eagle’s wingspan is so wide – they can’t be cramped into a small area.

I would like to encourage you to extend your wings and soar!  The place where you are now attempting to fly might not possess the space that is required for you to open your wings to their fullest extent……And you certainly have no space to soar.

Nothing else matters today other than the fact that you KNOW that you are an eagle.  Therefore as an eagle refuse to be bound any longer.  As an eagle, face every storm head on.  As an eagle, stand fearless in your place of dominion and exercise your authority. As an eagle, know how to revitalize yourself so that your strength will be renewed.

Lastly, when necessary, eagles will only congregate with other eagles (Iron sharpen iron – Proverbs 27:17).   You DO possess within you the DNA of an eagle!  Stop attempting to diminish your dreams, and visions to conform to the standards of the “pigeons”. Be determined that from today forward you will only view yourself as an eagle.   Then be unwavering in your conclusion…… and soar yourself through a lifetime of victories!  Soar Eagles Soar….Spread your wings……and Soar!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Virtures of Victory

Virtues of Victory

“…….. and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

                                                                                                            I John 5:4

What is victory?  How is it determined?

V – Vision - To be victorious I must have a vision; a mental image of my future state.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18

I -   Intensify – To intensify is to exhibit increase by: enhancing, strengthening and deepening.

Therefore to be victorious I must not cease to eagerly and powerfully intensify every

                   area of my life.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make

progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;  Jude 20

                  (AMP)

C -    Concentrate – Concentration equals an ability to focus.  Victory is never accomplished by

one who has loss their ability to maintain their focus.

“And SET your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on

the things that are on the earth.”   Colossians 3:2

T -    Trust – to gain total victory, I must solidify my trust channels – from the inside out.

                  Proverbs 20:7; 3:5; Psalm 146:3 (ESV)

O -   Opposition – Except the fact that there will always be oppositions; some will edify, some

will challenge and all which emanate from the kingdom of darkness are sent to destroy.  However.. every opposition will produce victory… if permitted!

“....In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the

                  world.” John 16:33

R –   Rules - No task in life is ever accomplished w/o abiding by the established guidelines.

To be victorious; I must know the rules….and obey them.

                   Romans 12:1-5 (ESV); Proverbs 4:7; Titus 3:1

Y -   Yoked - To be victorious I must remain free of any restrictive burden; and only become

yoked to those things that will permit the furtherance of God’s plan and purposes for my

           life.

“….Let us lay aside every weight..” Hebrews 12:1

We can also observe that the letter “Y” is the last letter in the word victory.  The shape of this letter reminds us of a fork in the road.  At the end of every victory – we stand at a fork in the road.  We have to make a decision.  We must decide whether to prepare for the next level and advance forward.... or to become satisfied with our present accomplishment and remain at that place.  The Lord always requires that we advance forward.   The ability to continually walk in a state of victory is achieved, when I decide to never become satisfied with my current achievements – but to always strive for an added dimension of greatness.

Paul explained it like this: “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13 & 14

So again I ask, “What are some of the virtues of VICTORY”?  The answer: The ability to expand my Vision; to aggressively Intensify every area of my life; to maintain my Consecration; to continually build and fortify my Trust channels; to expect Opposition,  to obey the Rules and to be Yoked to Kingdom Principles.

The Hit List

The Hit List

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one”.    Ephesians 6:16

As I was glancing through an Ebony Magazine, there was a page entitled “Hit List”.  To summarize, this page included items that were considered “must haves” for the season.

Well, as usual – I began to relate that concept to the realm of the spirit.  I wondered, “What would be considered the “must haves” to be on the “Hit List” of our adversary”?  So below I’ve listed the top five requirements that I feel are compulsory.

  1. The acceptance of Christ as your Saviour.

One of the reasons that the enemy is able to gain an upper hand is that we fail to realize when the warfare begins.  As soon as we make an outward declaration to take a stand for Christ - immediately we are thrust into an intense battle ground.  We have made the decision to leave the family of darkness and become a member of the body of Christ.  This alone initially qualifies one to become an open target and earn a place on satan’s list…. On “The Hit List”.

  1. Developing and spending time in the presence of the Lord.

This is the place where we gain our genuine strength, wisdom and discernment.  We can receive encouragement from others.  However there is nothing, nothing that can replace what one can receive from developing a relationship with the Lord.  The enemy is fully aware of this.  That’s the reason that he makes it so difficult for one to spend time alone in the presence of the Lord.  The determination to build such a relationship definitely makes one as a prime candidate for “The Hit List”.

  1. Living a lifestyle that is in obedience to the word of Lord.

This transcends the mere presence that is exhibited in church or in the company of those who know us as being “saved”.  What happens when others can’t see us?  Are we living one type of lifestyle during the week and another on the weekends?  And what about our integrity??? When we’ve committed ourselves to allowing our lives to be an open book for all to see (by fasting, praying, paying tithes, reading our Word, maintaining that temper, not gossiping, etc.); and that open book reflects holiness…. We’re on “The Hit List”.

  1. Actively being a Soul winner.

This statement really needs no clarification.  If you are seeking and seizing every opportunity to be a witness for the Lord, and showing the unsaved their road to freedom; you already know – you are on “The Hit List”.

  1. Be a channel for the Holy Spirit and putty in His Hands.

Lord, what will you have me to do?  This is the question we’ve asked in all sincerity. However, when we wholehearted avail ourselves to such; advance from the plateau of focusing on ourselves; and permit God to totally use us –then the enemy really “throws a fit”.   Our commitment (not our promise!) to use ALL of who we are for the Lord – definitely earns you a number one position on “The Hit List”.

There are many other items that could be added.   I would like to encourage you to tailor the list as necessary and discover why you are on the enemy’s “The Hit List”.   (If you’re not….get to steppin!!!)

From Fetters To Freedom

From Fetters to Freedom

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishment on the peoples, To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron,

                                                                                                                                                                  Psalm 149;6-8

There was a hymn entitled, “Jesus Breaks Every Fetter”.  Even though that song is rarely heard its implication hasn’t loss it validity.  When we bring to mind thoughts concerning the word “fetter”, we can correlate them to various obstacles that the enemy attaches to us to delay our progress in the Lord.   Whether they be: areas of sin or weaknesses in the flesh; the phenomena of life; or circumstances totally beyond our control; - a fetter is anything that is tied to me which restricts my mobility and/or my advancement.

There are those things; some of which WE have permitted.  Others could have been inherited.  Nevertheless, these obstacles still continue: to shackle, bond, chain and yoke themselves to us.  Therefore our effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is none productive.  Many times we are attempting to assist others in a deepen walk with the Lord, yet we have not been freed ourselves of our many “fetters”……  However Jesus still breaks EVERY fetter.

What are some of the evidences that our fetters have been broken?

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, my concern is to increase my relationship with the Lord - just because of who he is - not because of what he can do.

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, I will realize that as I increase in my love walk and in every other walk in my life - so will those with whom I am connected.  (The proof IS in the pudding!  Leaders.. We cannot longer expect others to walk in a level of excellency that we are not committed to!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, my appetites are disciplined and my motives pure.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, the manifestation of the enemy’s work won’t frighten me, his maneuvers don’t surprise me and his schemes can’t outwit me.

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, I won’t just sing, “It is Well With My Soul”, but my life will exemplify and verify so.  (By your fruit shall you be known!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, the peace of God WILL rule my mind,  I WILL walk above EVERY circumstance in this life, and I WILL remain focused on and committed to the plans and purposes  that the Lord has assigned to me.

Therefore to obtain the freedom which will permit the peace of God to continually infiltrate our lives; surpassing all understanding;…. every fetter and its suppressing power must be broken.

So ….its once again dependent upon the status of my mind! Once my mind has been liberated from its fetters – I will have the ability to be…and to maintain total freedom in every area of your life!

"He whom the Son sets free is free indeed!" John 8:36

The Search Is On…Do You Qualify?

“……The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: ……. Luke 10:2

The Lord is still seeking those who are qualified to be an example in leadership.  Now…. you’ve been “saved” for quite a few years; you know quite a few scriptures; and can effectively convenience someone of their need to deepen their relationship with the Lord.  However, do you qualify as a potential for the current search?

Check your credentials ……. You be the judge!

  1. Does my love for the Lord reflect in my: emotions, reasonings, and my actions?
  2. Do I spend quality time in the presence of the Lord – daily?
  3. Am I a bold advocate for the cause of Christ?
  4. Am I familiar enough with my “sword” as to know the “flavor” of its content?
  5. What is the opinion of the people in my community concerning my: integrity, friendliness, and my active involvement within the community?
  6. What about my employer and my fellow coworkers? What is their opinion of my Spiritual convictions?  Do they even know of my profession concerning my Lord?
  7. What does my check book reveal concerning my stewardship in the area of finances?
  8. What type of financial supporter am I to those who ministry to me on a regular basis?
  9. Are my choices and the style of my clothing in accord with what is “satisfactory” and pleasing to the Lord?
  10. Above all, is my overall lifestyle a display of that which would consider me to be classified as a current day disciple?

So if the Lord were to use the above brief list as a “white glove” to survey our lives…. would that glove still remain white after the survey?  Remember….God doesn’t require perfection – but He does require obedience, commitment and perseverance.

Yes…. The search is on….. Do you qualify?  (if not…get to stepping!!!)

Giants DO Fall…..But That’s Only Phase One!

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”  Ephesians 6:12 ESV

Sometimes we get so excited when we have made an accomplishment or gained a victory in the realm that we forget to return to “tie up” the remaining loose ends.

REMEMBER: Nothing in life is unconquerable. Romans 8:37 reminds us of this.  God’s love for us assures us of the fact that we are more than conquerors.  Now..To be more than a conqueror means that I have the assurance, that there isn’t any circumstance which will arise, where I don’t have the power to be victorious!  To be more than a conqueror means that I have learned that every challenge is a challenge because I view it from that perspective.

Therefore, my mind must be renewed to the extent that I have learned to rest in the loving arms of God – REGARLESS!  Without any reservation, I must always remember and know that I can’t be defeated… simply because every battle has already been won. Therefore, every giant WILL fall.

Now… usually the difficulty arises after we’ve stood in faith and caused our “giants” to fall.  After we’ve received major victories and breakthroughs; after we’ve been the recipient of accolades – now is when we must remember….that was only phase one.   In other words; after that giant of sickness has been slain and you’ve been healed; how do you maintain your healing?  After the giant of debt has been slain – how do you maintain your debt free status?  So whatever your giant – after it has been slain – you must realize that the journey has just begun.

How do we maintain our “giant free” status?  When we refer to the story of David and Goliath we can observe that David didn’t stop by just killing the giant.  He cut of his head as a sign.  So - How do I “cut off the head” of my giant?  In other words, how can I make a “statement”… a sign of the victory that my giant is defeated and won’t return?   What must I now do to retain all that I’ve accomplished?

Here are some suggestions:

  1. By establishing…. even prior to its defeat, a strategy that will prevent that giant from the ability of re-gaining access in the future.
  2. Making vital amendments to my thinking by: altering the material that I’m reading, watching and listening to…. And most of all the people who are in my immediate circle.
  3. Stay alert in the realm of the Spirit (sharpen your discernment).  Speak faith-filled words (no self-sabotage).  Stand on the Word of God – without respect to what you SEE in the natural (Find a scripture to substantiate or validate your deliverance and quote it throughout the day).

Remember EVERY giant will fall…but when it falls… their big brother is waiting for an opportunity of revenge and looking for every open door or unsecured window!

“Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” Matthew 12:45

So How Spiritually Mature Are You?

Read: II Peter 1:1-11

Our journey towards Spiritual Maturity requires us to focus on those character traits which are often not viewed in their proper relevancy with regards to our spiritual growth.  So how spiritually mature are you?  Spiritual maturity has no bearing on our natural age.  Therefore one can never assume that simply because a person have obtained a level of maturity in the natural, that they are spiritually mature.  Although spiritual maturity reflects our “weightiness” in the realm of the spirit – our journey is enhanced by our actions in the physical realm. We must always remember that maturity is a process that requires us to “decrease” if we are going to “increase”.

As we seek to increase, there are three pillars from which our spiritual maturity should take its platform. Proper growth requires: Effort, Diligence and Discipline.

I view the process of advancing in our growth towards spiritual maturity as a vine which grows.  When we observe plants which have been well groomed, we will notice that the gardener has taken the time, effort and the diligence to discipline and to guide the vines into the direction or pattern of intended growth.

Our actions must be as focused as those of the gardener.  Spiritual maturity doesn’t just occur without us assuming our places of responsibility.   God has given to us the proper tools (spiritual weapons, gifts of the spirit, etc) that will assure us that our growth will produce that fruit which will remain (fruit of the spirit).  Our level of spiritual maturity is measured by the ability that we have obtained; that permits the manifestation of a “spirit governed” versus a “self-controlled” lifestyle.

Effort must be exerted by us to restrain ourselves from ingesting irrelevant motives, concepts, and principles.  We must adhere to a mentality the will remain diligent and militant - as the daily onset of diabolical manifestations occur.   Above all, we must establish a standard of living that “mirrors” discipline.

Therefore a decrease must occur in whatever is not required for our individual spiritual diets.  A decrease must come in the area of those “weights” – which are not necessarily sinful acts…. but are those things which are no longer applicable to our progression.

As we advance the more along this road to spiritual maturity, we will realize that we are not as easily distracted by the occurrences of life.  Impatience, repeated latenesses, constant rushing, a lack of control over our emotions, “road rage”, etc. are all examples of some of the fruit that has been produced from a spiritually immature person.

So let’s take a step away from ourselves, and look to evaluate where we really stand.   We, who know the Word, must SHOW that we have the ability to adhere it to our lives – and not just read it using to it highlight the downfalls of others.  Remember – get the beam out of your eye first!  (Matthew 7:3-5).... Then we will be able to properly advance on this journey towards spiritual maturity.  Then not only will we notice our growth – but others, especially our adversary, will not have the advantage of engaging us in acts of immaturity!

Reach Beyond the Break….And Keep It Moving!!!

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed ; we are perplexed , but not in despair ; 9 Persecuted , but not forsaken ; cast down , but not destroyed Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.                      II Corinthians 4: 8-10

As it is, there's not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we're not much to look at. We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us - trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us - he lives!

II Corinthians 4:8-10 (The Message Bible)

Life has a way of introducing “interruptions” which usually are unexpected and have a tendency to throw us off course for a second.  The Lord wants to remind us that whatever causes a break in our daily flow should only present a momentary pause.  We must reach beyond that break …and keep it moving!  Delays are many times unavoidable.  However, a delay must only present a “comma” in our lives – and not a “period”.  Reach beyond every break and keep it moving.

Below I’ve added another prayer.  Be blessed and always remember never stop, never quit,  never give up or give in – reach beyond that break…..and KEEP IT MOVING!!!

Power To Press Beyond

(©2003)

Father in Jesus’ name, I thank you for the innate force within me that prompts me to seek a deeper revelation of you.

For my only desire in pressing beyond this realm is to obtain a greater insight of you and your solemnness; thus enabling me to not walk on the surface, but to have available to me those hidden, partially revealed spiritual treasures that are vital at this time.  These jewels are required for me to excel and will afford me the opportunity to properly lead others.

Lord God, I thank you that I have learned to persevere and to press beyond the obstacles, the road blocks and the detour signs - the hidden snares designed to delay your divine will for my life.  Thank you for the courage to press; - that courage which is required to recognize and discern; to subdue and call to nought every demonic and satanic force sent to oppose me on every level.  I now know how to press through and not request that you to remove from me difficult situations.  For I recognize that all of these have been foreordained for my advancement.

Since you have told me that the best is in the press, I will press into you at any cost.   I will press beyond the feelings of defeat, frustration, adversity and opposition. I will press beyond the spirits of despair, dejection and rejection.  I have learned that I must press beyond any of the feelings in my flesh, and rely only what my spirit discerns for you. Then and then only will I maintain this realization that in my press, YOU will never deny me.  So forgetting those things which are behind, I press.

Growing and still maturing in the process, I press.

Awaiting your divine intervention……..

I press, I press, I PRESS!!!

Ungodly Fear Steals Our Time

Ungodly Fear Steals Our Time

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

 II Timothy 1:7

One of the most valuable tools that a warrior has at their disposal is time. Strategies and strategic planning are only effective when implemented at their correct timing. On more occasions than we realize, ungodly fear is the underlying culprit for both; our delays and our hasty decisions.

In this season, we must stay alert in the realm of the spirit so that we can first recognize this spirit of fear and then uproot it. We must not become distracted with “important – unimportant” issues. A sharpened discernment is required if we are going to be effective against this current move of the enemy on our family members, our young people, our friends…. and everyone that we are concerned about.

As the end of time as we now know it rapidly approaches, we must understand that various demonic spirits will mask themselves as never before.  For example, we must recognize that the reason that many of our young people are dishonoring their bodies with the various markings and piercings is because they battling with the spirits of rejection and of course “fear”.  They are looking for a sense of “belonging”; and they fear not being accepted.

However, we must be able to discern these and other end-time moves of the enemy. This type of discernment is only released in us as we surrender unto the Lord an obedience to Him as never before. An obedience produced by love and discipline – not fear, accompanied with preparation… is vital.

I also hear the Lord saying that now it is of the utmost importance that seasoned warriors maintain an alertness in their spirits that can only be produced by a disciplined ear - disciplined to hear my voice said the Lord - even when I don't speak!

So value your time and your timing.  Your adversary will attempt to cause you waste time in the realm of the spirit by placing emergency situations in your presence. These will attempt to alarm you to the point that you will lose your focus; thus opening the doorway for the spirit of fear to re-enter.  Warriors! You must know that you are only to respond to any situation, as you are led by the spirit of the Lord - especially when a "crisis" arises. The Lord is saying that we must remember although events may startle us and surprise us; He has already known about them before the foundation of this world! So don't waste time by becoming entangled with “last minute” situations and circumstances.   Stay so connected to the Lord that you will recognize the warning signs that He gives to you prior to the onset of tragedies, crisis and the like.   Many of these are only coming to you as a distraction in an attempt to cause you to momentary divert your attention - thus causing you to miss your strategically planned timing.

Learn to recognize ungodly fear.  Locate its access.  Then aggressively advance to eradicate it; to seal its entrance; and to replace that spirit with the power and the authority of God.

As always, stay focused and refuse to be victimized and to waste valuable time; by any invasion of ungodly fear.

“… After all, we don’t want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief—we’re not oblivious to his sly ways!”             II Corinthians 2:11 (The Message Bible)

Profanity in the Pulpit

Profanity in the Pulpit

I was asked the question by a few of my FBF (Facebook friends) if it was okay to use profanity in the pulpit.  They said many Pastors are seemingly going that route now; and it appears to be acceptable.

Well… I always attempt to use the Bible to substantiate any response that I may offer.  So the verse that immediately came to mind was Ephesians 4:29.  In this verse the word corrupt was translated from the Greek word “σαπρός” (sapros).  Profanity could definitely come in alignment with the definition of this word.

The Amplified Version states this verse as thus: Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.  Ephesians 4:29

.

I also thought about the amount of prestige or reverence…. (Or should I say the lack of reverence) that we now place upon the presence of the Most High God!  Many things that we permit in our churches would not be tolerated by our judicial system; nor permitted by the Judges in their courtrooms!    Therefore, should we permit the incorporation and the infiltration of such words and phrases to be accepted when we are standing as representatives of the Almighty God?  Should we release with ease into the atmosphere the negative effects and word curses which accompany some profane words?  Have we forgotten that when we stand, we do so as the very orator for such a deity as He?

We must never forget that we are in this world – but we as representatives of God do not have to partake of the measures expressed by the world in an attempt to convey God’s message.  We are in this world – but we must not conform to this world (Romans 12: 1&2).  We must always uphold the level of integrity and self-control that will permit us to never stray from “our ancient land mark”.  (Proverbs 22:28 “Don’t stealthily move back the boundary lines staked out long ago by your ancestors.” - The Message Bible)

God has said:

“Experiences are meant to produce maturity.  Your Relationship with Me produces Sensitivity.  Discipline produces Obedience.

My leaders must become more equipped and establish an ear to hear my voice if they are going to win, to triumph and to spoil the strategic plans of the enemy in these last days.  Lowering one’s standards to conform to what is pleasing to the flesh will never be as effective as standing on and trusting in the pure authority of My Word.”

God has spoken; and it is so…. nothing else needs to be said!

Love That Produces a Servant

Love That Produces a Servant

“Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.”  John 13:13 & 14

We must always bear in mind that everything that Christ exampled was motivated from the platform of a heart that generated unconditional love.  He was attempting to show us that it matters not what the task; if love (I Corinthians 13) is present; then that love will override any other emotion that we may experience.

A true servant has a heart of unconditional love for their master.   Therefore, they place no limitations on the duties that they graciously will perform – for their master.

When Jesus washed His disciple’s feet; He was mirroring to them a display of His unconditional love for them – which produced the ability to become a servant.

Far too often when we read this narrative; we focus on doing the work of a servant.  However, we must also realize that doing the work of a servant, which is not motivated from a heart of love, is simply fulfilling a responsibility and not showing an act of compassion.   God’s desire for us is that we are so filled with His love; that whatever task we must undertake, we will be motivated from a heart of that love.    He desires that His love has so renewed our thought patterns; that is has produced the mentality of a true servant.

A true servant must possess the ability to:

S – Sacrifice ; Philippians 3:7-8 ESV  “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake    of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.”

EEncourage (others):  1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

R be Reliable : 1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

V – be Vigilant: Ephesians 6:10-18 ESV

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,….”

A -  be Alert: 1 Peter 5:8 ESV

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

N - Never Give Up: Galatians 6:9 ESV                                                                                     “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

T – be Trustworthy: 1 Corinthians 4:2 ESV

“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”

So to recap….a true servant has received that degree of unconditional love that has now produced within them the mentality of: Sacrifice, Encouragement, Reliability, Vigilance, Alertness, Trustworthiness…and above all…they will Never Give Up!

Are your expressions of servanthood motivated from the platform of responsibility or compassion?

To do the work of a servant is commendable.

However, to have the heart of a servant is exceptional and requires a renewed mindset!  Remember man sees WHAT we do….but God knows WHY we are doing it.”

What About YOUR Praise??

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.  Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.  At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose."

                                                                                                               Acts 16:25 & 26

I’m one who doesn’t believe that there are coincidences in the occurrences of life.  I believe that every single thing has a purpose and a reason for transpiring.    I also know that everything - every detail; that is recorded in the Bible has relevance and is significant.

Therefore, whenever I’ve read this story about Paul and Silas, I’ve noticed how very descriptive it is.  Now, Paul and Silas were praying and singing – but why was it necessary to record the actions of the other prisoners?  Could it be that we were supposed to be made aware of the great impact that their praise and worship experience had on others?

So the sake of time…let’s fast forward.  What about YOUR praise?  What impact does it have on those who are bound?  Does your praise radiate to the extent that it will cause an effect, which will promote a ground moving, door opening, chain shaking release in the realm of the spirit?

Effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is not determined by the intensity or the loudness of a sound. The sound must authoritatively be released from someone who does not feel threaten by the actions or motives of those who are opposing them.

Paul and Silas, although locked in prison – were free men!  It is only when we obtain the ability to remain focused and free – regardless to where we are; without regards to who we are around; and when we can yet take a “stand” in the midst of every chaotic situation….  that our praise will have the potency and will resonate with the influence as theirs did.

As a result of their praying and singing – the very earth itself could not be contained!  We must realize that they didn’t wait until they were in prison and THEN begin to develop a relationship with the Lord. Their motive was not to break open the prison doors.  Their motive was to do what should come natural for all of us – to simply give God the praise IN all things.

So back to our original question, “What about YOUR praise?”.   In terms of effectiveness….  Is it powerful or pitiful?   In terms of sincerity…Is it heartfelt or hollow?

Anyone can praise God, however not everyone can render an “effective praise”.  You are not called to be ordinary.   God has called, appointed and anointed you to be one of the ones whose praise WILL loosen the demonic entanglements of others.

Remember that this type of praise won’t be developed during your worship service!  It must be cultivated during those times of intimacy with the Lord…..Then released at the appropriate time.

I would like to encourage you to re-read this story about Paul and Silas AGAIN!– this time with your focus on the details.  Then ask yourself “How can my praise render a more effective impact in the realm of the spirit?”

Seek the face of God and press into Him to the extent that your praise will automatically shift to the next level and “Break every chain, Break every chain, BREAK EVERY CHAIN!!!!”

Independently Independent – Yet Dependent
“He whom the Son has set free, is free indeed.” John 8:36

In America today we are celebrating a holiday entitled Independence Day.  There have been festivities all week long; which will be concluded tonight with a finale marked by an elaborate musically choreographed firework display. People from various states have come here to Philadelphia for the purposes of expanding their knowledge of their country; as well as to engage in the enormous plethora of pleasurable activities.  Everyone is enjoying and sharing in the celebrations concerning their independence.

Just as equally or of greater importance is the fact that we, the Saints of the Most High God should be enjoying the fact that we are independently independent.  To be independent is to be; freed, liberated, unconventional, unconstrained and to an individualist.  We must never cease to remember that we have been released from all of the chains of the enemy; which previously held us captive. Our freedom has given to us the power and the authority to no longer be suppressed by the mindsets of this world and its chaotic influences. Our freedom has given to us the ability to excel in every task that we undertake.  Our freedom has given to us the advantage to decide for ourselves whether we will live or die.  Our freedom has afforded us with wisdom – if we avail ourselves to it.  That wisdom enables us to come to the realization that we must not – although free, be without; guidelines, perimeters and boundaries.

Therefore, although I am free…..I am yet bound. Although freed from the chains of the enemy; I have chosen to be totally dependent upon the established Kingdom Principles which will assure my current and future success.  I am free enough to be bound! I am free enough not to bow to the conventional, constrained traditions of man – which are desensitizing the effects of God’s Word. I am free enough to appreciate the individualistic character qualities that God Himself has entrusted to me.  I am free enough to walk above every circumstance in this life. Above all; I am free enough to stand in faith until the manifestation of God promises are made visibly evident.

So on this day of independence – I am totally independent of every: methodology, ideology, concept and precept of this world; its standards and its mandates. Yet, I am totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit for the wisdom, guidance, and the perseverance to implement every strategic plan that is required for me as a powerfully effective endtime warrior.

“ I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20 AMP

Don't Forget

Don’t Forget!

And she made a vow, saying, “ Lord Almighty, if you will,…… then I will …..”
                                                                                                                      I Samuel 1:11

The Bible has an array of illustrations regarding people who have asked the Lord for something in a time of distress or great demand; vowing to give Him something in return for His favor.  Far too often when we feel as though we are in a dire or desperate situation, sensibility isn’t weighed – and…. If we aren’t focused….. we will pledge to practically anything.  Then, when we begin to “see the light at the end of the tunnel…” we will realize the magnitude or the in-depth nature of the commitment.    That’s when people begin to renege on their pledge. However we must realize that a vow is a vow; a pledge is a pledge.

God never, ever forgets His promises to us.  Whatever He has promised will be manifested.   People everywhere are now beginning to attest to this …as God has begun to turn the tables in our favor.    God is now allowing us to receive as soon as – or before we sow (Amos 9:13)!   He is returning to us all that has been: stolen, misappropriated, swindled, or even lost through our own ignorance (Joel 2:25).   The day of restoration IS finally here!   Hallelujah!

However, let’s not forget the vows that we’ve made to the Lord during our winter season.   It doesn’t matter the type of opposition that you’ve encountered.   The opposition may have been spiritual, emotional, financial or physical.   It doesn’t matter.   Every vow that we’ve uttered unto the Lord must be kept ( unless He has released you from it.. which is extremely rare!).

So as the favor of the Lord brings forth the manifestation of wealth, riches and abundance ….. in every area:
Don’t forget to maintain your focus by studying your Word and spending time with the Lord… don’t get distracted!
Don’t forget to pay your tithes & offerings ( increasing both!)
Don’t forget to allow humility be your cloak,
Don’t forget to be a giver, but use wisdom in your giving.
Don’t forget that God has blessed you so that you in return have now obtained that ability to bless someone else.
Lastly, don’t forget to make good on your promise to the Lord – without regards to its difficulty or inconvenience.   Whatever it was…   “Just Do It”!

“When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.”  Ecclesiastes 5:4 ESV

“If you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin”.         Deuteronomy 23:21 ESV

God's Assurance

God’s Assurance

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”  Hebrews 10:22

We can always excel in every area of our lives.  This is possible once we become certain and assured of who God is.  Sometimes we seem to forget that once we are assured of our status with God – that we can’t fail in anything that we endeavor to accomplish.

This prayer of Assurance can assist us to continually affirm the dependence that we have in our confidence in Him.

 Prayer of Assurance

                                          PRAYER OF ASSURANCE ©2003

 L

ord God, I thank you for the spirit of assurance.  Your word verifies that true assurance in you is the attribute that will permit me to overcome every obstacle in these last days.

A full blessed assurance in you validates the fact that because of your sovereign love for me - nothing, nothing, No Thing - that occurs today in my life will cause a detour in your divine will for me.  My assurance, my firm conviction in you mandates that I exercise my blood bought authority this day, to walk above the circumstances of life.  I will never again release from my mouth that I am under, beneath or a victim to my present world conditions.

Your word assures me and reveals to me who you are, your very nature.  Your word   reveals to me that the things seen are temporal; moveable, mutable, unable to withstand, and subject to environmental conformation.  Therefore, I am assured, that as I  absorb, soak up and permit only your word to infiltrate my spirit - then and then only will I have the ability to rise above and remain above my circumstances.

My assurance in you decrees that I will not leave this life prematurely.  My assurance in you decrees that I have the ability now to stand in the midst of adversity and command your presence to prevail.

I thank you for your assurance that I am a “King’s Kid”; your heir, and a joint heir with Christ.  I am of a royal priesthood, divinely anointed and appointed for this time - groomed and adorned by you, Lord God; totally for Lord.

I am assured that I can only excel…...  It is because of this assurance that I know I will never, never, never be defeated.

   Hallelujah!!  Thank You Lord!!!
