Patience in the Hallway

Patience in the Hallway

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12

There are times when God has chosen to display His attribute of “silence”.  Now, although this character quality isn’t listed or written in any of the information concerning our Father; if you know Him to any extent; you can identify this as one of His traits.

So, what have you personally learned from God’s silence?  I have discovered that when we are in the “hallway” God chooses to test our ability to find our way to the next room.   When one door is nailed shut…. And we are waiting for another to open – we in the “hallway”.    When we have difficult decisions to make and God is silent – we’re in the “hallway”.  When you’ve fasted, you’ve prayed and you’ve sown your seed for your need…. Yet God is silent…. You’re in the “hallway”.  Despite your cries and pleas….. God is STILL not saying a word!  And, the dilemma that we most encounter is the fact that we have no doubt that God can move in an instant!  So what’s happening? Why isn’t God moving…. Or at least saying SOMETHING?

It is in these times that we must realize that God is attempting to mature us and teach us how to patiently trust Him – even when we don’t hear Him.  He is attempting to elevate us to our next place in Him.   In other words when we find ourselves in the hallway; we should immediately realize that we’re being tested.  God has placed us in a “proving ground” to enlighten us, and to inform our enemy of our growth since our last visit to the “hallway”.  We are daily growing and advancing to new heights in the Lord.  Yet these increases are internal; can’t be seen – but can be shown.  So what other way can our adversary know that we’ve grown in the Lord, except by the fact that when he tempts us with prior weaknesses – and we don’t yield as we previously would have?

Therefore, as I’ve often said, “Don’t expect God to answer you when you’re being tested – because the teacher never talks during a test.”  God knows all things, so our testing isn’t to reveal to Him information that He isn’t aware of.  Our testings are for us...and the adversary.

How do we learn to be patient in the hallway?

1. By openly acknowledging that God loves me and IS working all things for my good.

2. Finding a scripture to use as a focal point of strength and encouragement.  Read it regularly throughout the day.

3. Refuse to speak doubt filled, fear related words.

4. Remember that you will not progress to your next level until you’ve passed the hallway test.  Therefore you will repeat this same test until you can walk through the hallway; without pacing and wring your hands….But patiently walking to the next door, and waiting for it to open.

So when God is silent, stand on what you know.  Don’t permit the enemy to make YOU further delay the process by focusing on your “hallway” conditions.  Remember..in the natural,  things appear quite differently than they really are.  Never permit your faith in God to waver – regardless.  If we would begin to stand on the promises of God in the difficult situations, then we would realize that when we are in the hallway, that’s the prime time to encourage others.  Although doubt and fear will attempt to discourage you – but determined that you will rest in the comfort of your knowledge of our omniscient, omnipotent Father and His promises to never leave nor forsake you.

(Faith + Trust+ Hope) – (Fear, Doubt, Unbelief) = PATIENCE!

But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:25 ESV

Get Connected!

Get Connected!

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, unless He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7

Would you like to know the headlines to tomorrow?  What if your country’s security intelligence forces had the proper connections in advance to focus on where the next terrorist attack would occur …. Or the next school shooting?  It doesn’t matter the situation; proper preparation requires that I get connected to the correct source.  When I am properly connected I can advance to my next place in the realm of the spirit; in peace and harmony.

The Lord loves us to the extreme that He doesn’t want us to become alarmed or caught by surprise with the negative occurrences which will transpire in the future.  He has promised to inform us of His intentions. However we must avail ourselves to those to whom He has given the ear to hear His prophetic voice.  It is imperative in this season that we get connected to those who can authentically represent and relay the voice of the Lord concerning the future.  We must get connected to those who are truly ordained by God and have the ability to communicate to us the specifics concerning future events.

As I have so often said, the time to prepare for the calamity is prior to its occurrence. Our successful survival is dependent upon our ability to be proactive– rather than reactive; to be prepared rather that caught by surprise when major tragedies occur.  So now is the time to connect or to re-connect.

·       Get connected to someone who can correlate their insights concerning the future to the Word of God.

·       Get connected to someone who has a proven positive track record.

·       Get connected to someone who is willing to teach and lead by example; rather than just prophesy.

·       Above all, get connected to the person (or persons) that the Lord is leading you to - not necessarily the person that is the most popular – but the person with whom the Lord validates within your spirit.

We can possess proper and powerful tools; however without the intervention of our God given connection(s), our production will be limited or possibly non-existent.    For example; one may purchase the finest electrical equipment possible.  However if they have no means of receiving an electrical current; if they can’t get connected to a working power source; their tools are useless!

So in this season… check your connections.  It is possible that the hindrance that you are encountering could simply be that it’s time to amend those to whom you are connected.  Sometimes we are trying to fix and patch up something that has served its purpose and needs to be discarded.

As we approach the ending of this year begin to survey your connections.  Ask the Lord for the wisdom and the grace to “clean house” in the realm of the spirit.  Examination your connections   and terminate those that the Lord deems are no longer beneficial.  Trust in the Lord ….He has never, nor will He ever steer you to the wrong connections.

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”   I John 4:1-3

Extreme Power Outage

Extreme Power Outage

Read.. I John 4:1-5

A while ago there was an article in “Bloomberg Businessweek” which attempted to explain the shifting balance in the world economy.  The writer exampled the purchases of a few US major brands like Heinz (worth about $23 billion) and Burger King ($3.3 billion) by foreign investors.  The writer also shared insight to the enhanced concepts that have now invaded our economic and political arena – from which no one is currently exempted. In other words the power that once stabilized the US and her “commodities” is no longer valid.  She has lost her leverage and is experiencing a major power outage.

As I read the article, I began to equate it to a dilemma that we are apparently experiencing in the body of Christ.  It appears that we also have been invaded by foreign investors!  It appears that the Church has now given birth to a generation; who, like the new breed of Israelites (read Exodus chapter 1) - know not the God of their former and founding Fathers.

The Church has permitted the removal of the old land mark – for which we were cautioned not to do (Proverbs 23:10).  We have permitted the elimination of foundational principles in our Churches by those who KNEW NOT OUR GOD…….foreign investors! We have looked in the opposite direction at the introduction of a total “lack of respect” for the ordinances and sacraments in our Churches – and have adopted “less intimidating” laws….. foreign investors!   In other words, I would dare to say that the average Christian has taken this dispensation of “grace” as a “get out of jail free card”.  They have no longer acquired the proper convictions to correctly amend their spirits to conform to such mandates as: celibacy, tithing or fasting.  We have now sought to just be “comfortable” and to engage in whatever we “feel” is correct……foreign investor! And the list could continue forever!

So what has this given rise to? Sadly to say…the pitiful, disgraceful, inadequate, non-productive, spiritual state that we find existing in far too many of our Churches.  We’ve permitted these foreign investors to cause a “disturbance” in the realm of the spirit.  Therefore we have a vast power outage!

The Church’s power outage, is to the extent that many Christians no longer experience nor possess that current which empowers them with the drive to: visit and care for the sick, make prison visits, attend prayer meetings and Bible studies… and what is an All Night Prayer Service????   We will comfortably sit and leave those “task” to those who are “called” to those ministries!   We, the body of Christ, have experienced a major power outage in the realm of the spirit; therefore the enemy can just come boldly into our Churches without any or by receiving very little opposition. We need locks on the Church doors and security guards in our services because we don’t have the power to build and establish an effective barrier against the enemy’s tactics.

Foreign investors may not have the ability to be conquered in the economic arena.  However, II Chronicles 7:14 is still applicable today.    We are fully aware of the fact, that as the end of time as we know it draws nigh; that there are certain occurrences that must transpire to fulfill what the Lord has promised.  However, we must be determined that we will not fall privy to any of the standards which are being introduced to us from the kingdom of darkness – foreign investors.

There is no earlier time than now to begin to make the proper amends to assure yourself that you will not be included in this power outage….but that your power supply will remain….and that your connection to the main power source maintains its authenticity.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them.”                 I John 4:1-5 ESV

From Fetters to Freedom

From Fetters to Freedom

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishment on the peoples, To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron,

                                                                                                                                                                  Psalm 149;6-8

There was a hymn entitled, “Jesus Breaks Every Fetter”.  Even though that song is rarely heard its implication hasn’t loss it validity.  When we bring to mind thoughts concerning the word “fetter”, we can to correlate it to various obstacles that the enemy attaches to us to delay our progress in the Lord.   Whether they be: areas of sin or weaknesses in the flesh; the phenomena of life; or circumstances totally beyond our control; - a fetter is anything that is tied to me which restricts my mobility and/or my advancement.

There are those things; some of which YOU have permitted.  Others could have been inherited.  Nevertheless, these obstacles still continue: to shackle, bond, chain and yoke themselves to you in the natural.  Therefore your effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is none productive.  Many times we are attempting to assist others in a deepen walk with the Lord, yet we have not been freed ourselves of our many “fetters”.  However Jesus still breaks EVERY iron fetter.

What are some of the evidences that our iron fetters have been broken?

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, my concern is to increase my relationship with the Lord - just because of who he is - not because of what he can do.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, I will realize that as I increase in my love walk and in every other walk in my life - so will those with whom I am connected.  (The proof IS in the pudding!  Leaders.. We cannot longer expect others to walk in a level of excellency that we are not committed to!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, my appetites are disciplined and my motives pure.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, the manifestation of the enemy’s work won’t frighten me, his maneuvers don’t surprise me and his schemes can’t outwit me.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, I won’t just sing, “It is Well With My Soul”, but my life will exemplify and verify so.  (By your fruit shall you be known!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, the peace of God WILL rule my mind,  I WILL walk above EVERY circumstance in this life, and I WILL remain focused on and committed to the plans and purposes  that the Lord has assigned to me.

Therefore to obtain the freedom which will permit the peace of God to continually infiltrate our lives; surpassing all understanding;…. every iron fetter and its power must be broken.

So ….its once again dependent upon the status of your mind! Once your mind has been liberated from its fetters – you will have the ability to be…and to maintain total freedom in every area of your life!

"He whom the Son sets free is free indeed!" John 8:36

A Vow is A Vow!

Don’t Forget.. A Vow is A Vow!

And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will,…… then I will …..”

                                                                                                                      I Samuel 1:11

The Bible has an array of illustrations regarding people who have asked the Lord for something in a time of distress or great demand; vowing to give Him something in return for His favor.  Far too often when we feel as though we are in a dire or desperate situation, sensibility isn’t weighed - and we will pledge to practically anything.  Then, when we begin to “see the light at the end of the tunnel…” we will realize the magnitude or the in-depth commitment involved on our part… and that’s when we’ll begin to renege on our pledge. However we must realize that a vow is a vow.

God never, ever forgets His promises to us.  Whatever He has promised will be manifested.  People everywhere are now beginning to attest to this …as God has begun to turn the tables in our favor.   God is now allowing us to receive as soon as – or before we sow (Amos 9:13)!  He is returning to us all that has been: stolen, misappropriated, swindled, or even lost through our own ignorance (Joel 2:25).  The day of restoration IS finally here!  Hallelujah!

However, let’s not forget the vows that we’ve made to the Lord during our season of struggle.  It doesn’t matter the type of struggle.   The struggle may have been spiritual, emotional, financial or physical.   It doesn’t matter.  Every vow that we’ve uttered unto the Lord must be kept (unless He has released you from it.. which is extremely rare!).

So as the favor of the Lord brings forth the manifestation of wealth, riches and abundance ….. in every area:

Don’t forget to maintain your focus by studying your Word and spending time with the Lord… don’t get distracted!

Don’t forget to pay your tithes & offerings (increasing both!)

Don’t forget to allow humility to be your cloak,

Don’t forget to be a giver, but use wisdom in your giving.

Don’t forget that God has blessed you, so that you in return have now obtained that ability to bless someone else.

Lastly, don’t forget to make good on your promise to the Lord – without regards to its difficulty or inconvenience.  Whatever it was…  “Just Do It”!

“When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.”  Ecclesiastes 5:4 ESV

“If you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin”.         Deuteronomy 23:21 ESV

It’s Time To Move Your Anchor….Again!!!

………… Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. Luke 5:4

The word for today is one of encouragement and congratulations.  For the Lord has said that it doesn’t matter who you are; if you’ve committed yourself to advancing your walk with him - you are to be commended.  You’ve successfully conquered all that the enemy has thrown upon you.  You’ve excelled on your current level and within your current dimension.  The time has now come for you to take your spiritual walk into your uncharted waters.  However, bear in mind that promotion is a double sided coin.  While we ascend to the highest plateau in one dimension; upon reaching the next, you are once again at the ground level.

In the natural, we can usually realize our growth and know when we made the necessary accomplishments which are required for advancement.  However, far too often in the realm of the Spirit we don’t recognize the signs.

As you continue to progress into this new season, move your anchor into deeper waters.  The deeper waters will produce those boisterous waves and the unpredictable undercurrents.   But you are now ready to ride out the waves and maintain your focus in the midst of every storm.   Navigating through the deep waters will prove to be very advantageous.   Launch out in the deep.  Stretch your faith!  One will never receive mountain moving faith or produce “a prison door releasing praise”, while routing a course through shallow waters.

Leaders! (and potential leaders) Don’t permit the spirit of passivity to become a comfort zone.  This spirit has begun to occupy the seats in our churches simply because WE are not moving our anchors. WE must continue to take the proper measures to advance ourselves, if we are to lead those whom have been untrusted to us to the next level and the next dimension.

Consider this:

Have your church services become so “routine” that they fail to permit the move of the Holy Ghost?

Then it's time to move your anchor!

Are souls no longer receiving the conviction of the Holy Ghost?

Then it's time to move your anchor!

Are people coming in and leaving the services, still unbroken under the anointing of the Holy Ghost?

Then it's time to move your anchor.

Lastly, the deep waters are not heavily populated.  Don’t become overly concerned about those who are not ready to accompany you.   Jehovah Shamah will alway (no “s”) and always be there!

Therefore:

1.   Seek the face of God in fasting and prayer for divine revelations, wisdom and power.

2.   Then... Pick up your anchor.  Uproot and carefully weed out every hindering spirit.

3.   Launch out into the deeper waters. Move forward cautiously but not fearfully.

4.   Watch manifestation of God’s promises become a part of your daily walk.

Saints! Move your anchor and allow God to prove himself faithful to you and the ministry.  (Even if you are not the Pastor or one of the ministry leaders – if you move your anchor and begin to launch your spiritual walk into deeper waters – you will glean the ability to greatly impact your entire church!)

It’s Already Done…Just Receive It!

“Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.   Luke 10:19 (AMP)

Are you waiting for God to “give” to you something that He has already made available for you to receive?  I’ve recently been hearing quite a few people expressing that they are waiting for God to move in a given situation…. waiting for God to heal them; waiting for God to deliver… and the list could go on.

We must come to the realization that in most circumstances, we are waiting for God to do something that He has already made the provision for.   Usually, because we don’t have the proper knowledge (my people perish for lack of knowledge!  Hosea 4:6) we don’t know that we only have to RECEIVE the provision that has already been made available to us.  We have to also remember that our words have the power to change any situation (death and life ARE in the power of MY tongue.  Proverbs 18:21).

Here’s an example.  On last Sunday morning when I awoke, my eye was swollen, red, feeling scratchy and inflamed.  Now, when I looked at it, I could have said, “I have conjunctivitis (pink eye)”.  However, I said, “Lord, I receive your healing for my eye in the name of Jesus.”  As I washed it, I further said, “Now Lord as I do this in the natural, I expect you to apply your “Super” to my “Natural” so that this eye can receive total healing. The entire process maybe took 5 or 10 minutes.  Then I proceeded to get ready for church.  Well, before I went to church, my eye had received the healing!

Now, I didn’t ask God to heal my eye.  I didn’t wait to “see” what was going to happen.  Why? Because He has already told me that He has given ME power over all sickness and disease.  God will never do something that He has given us the power to do.  So, I had to do my part – which was to stand on the Word of God.  Not to beg and plead with Him to do something.    Usually our problem isn’t that we don’t have the power.  Our dilemma is that we don’t know how to properly apply the power that has been given to us.   Far too often we are synonymous to a starving person, who sits beside a refrigerator which is full of cooked food; and is praying day after day; telling the Lord that they are hungry!

Healing has already been made available.  If I truly believe that Jesus bore all of my sicknesses and diseases (Isaiah 53:5) – then why would I have to ask God to do something that has already occurred?

On occasion, our level of faith must be increased to believe that God is who He proclaims to be.  However, when we learn to continually renew our minds; then our thoughts will change; and the words that we release from our mouths will change.   So, instead of saying, “I don’t have that much faith”,…  you would say something like, “My level of faith is increasing”.  Instead of saying, “I feel sick”…. Something like, “I feel like I need to apply some healing” would be said.

Remember……the Word of God does work…. I just have to learn how to WORK the WORD!

Virtues of Victory

Virtues of Victory

“…….. and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

                                                                                                            I John 5:4

What is victory?  How is it determined?

V – Vision - To be victorious I must have a mental image of my future state.

Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18

I -   Intensify – To intensify is to exhibit increase by: enhancing, strengthening and deepening.

Therefore to be victorious I must not cease to eagerly and powerfully intensify every

                   area of my life.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make

progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;  Jude 20

                  (AMP)

C -    Concentrate – Concentration equals an ability to focus.  Victory is never accomplished by

one who has loss their ability to maintain their focus.

And SET your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on

the things that are on the earth.”   Colossians 3:2

T -    Trust – to gain total victory, I must solidify my trust channels – from the inside out.

                  Proverbs 20:7; 3:5; Psalm 146:3 (ESV)

O -   Opposition – Except the fact that there will always be oppositions; some will edify, some

will challenge and some are sent to destroy.

....In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the

                  world.” John 16:33

R –   Rules - No task in life is ever accomplished w/o abiding by the established guidelines.

To be victorious; I must know the rules….and obey them.

                   Romans 12:1-5 (ESV); Proverbs 4:7; Titus 3:1

Y -   Yoked - To be victorious I must remain free of any restrictive burden; and only become

yoked to those things that will permit the furtherance of God’s plan and purposes for my

           life.

“….Let us lay aside every weight..” Hebrews 12:1

We can also observe that the letter “Y” is the last letter in the word victory.  The shape of this letter reminds us of a fork in the road.  At the end of every victory – we stand at a fork in the road.  We have to make a decision.  We must decide whether to prepare for the next level and advance forward.... or to become satisfied with our present accomplishment and remain at that place.  The Lord always requires that we advance forward.   The ability to continually walk in a state of victory is achieved, when I decide to never become satisfied with my current achievements – but to always strive for an added dimension of greatness.

Paul explained it like this: “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13 & 14

So again I ask, “What are some of the virtues of VICTORY”?  The answer: The ability to expand my Vision; to aggressively Intensify every area of my life; to maintain my Consecration; to continually build and fortify my Trust channels; to expect Opposition,  to obey the Rules and to be Yoked to Kingdom Principles.

Who or What is Your Strong Tower?

Who or What is Your Strong Tower?

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”

                                                                                                                            Proverbs 18:10

Although we might not realize it, we all have a strong tower.  Our strong tower can be identified by the stronghold(s) that are apparent in our lives.  Our ability to endure in the times of adversity, calamity and devastation is dependent upon the strength of whatever is supporting us – and the guidelines that are already established in our minds.

Proverbs 18:10 tells us that the NAME of the Lord is a strong tower.  So this is establishing that it doesn’t matter whatever oppositions may come my way – if I can attach a name to that “problem” – the NAME of the Lord will override that adverse situation.  Every tower in our lives can become subjected to the strongest tower – who is the Lord.  For example anything that has a name – cancer is only a name; lack - only a name; poverty – only a name; it doesn’t matter what it is.  If you can call it by ITS name; then there is another NAME that will overpower, override and completely eradicate it.  Hallelujah!!!

However, usually our problem is that we have “ungodly strongholds” established in our minds.  Therefore, we have conditioned ourselves to run into the lesser towers instead of the ultimate Strong Tower. Nahum 1:7 reminds us that the Lord is a good and strong hold in the day of trouble.   So since He is a “strong hold” – we should establish Him as our “stronghold”.

Now in reverse, Proverbs 12:12 states that the wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers (NIV).  Note: there is a difference between the wicked and the unsaved.

So, begin to recondition mind – prior to the onset of trouble.  Start by daily confessing – out loud - my mind is renewed! Confess that, “Lord, you are my strong tower and my stronghold”.  Then in the natural – you must call upon the Lord FIRST when problems arise.  Instead of running to your phone, instead of texting someone, instead of running to FB, Twitter, Skype, or your cloud player – Go to the Lord first!

It’s only when we learn to acknowledge Him first in ALL of our ways that He will be able to direct our path, give us the peace that surpasses all understanding and allow us to be more than conquerors – REGARDLESS!

“Where does your security lie? Is God your refuge, your hiding place, your stronghold, your shepherd, your counselor, your friend, your redeemer, your Saviour, your guide? If He is, you don't need to search any further for security.”                                                   Elisabeth Elliot

No Stubble Here!

No Stubble Here!

“Give us this day our DAILY bread” Matthew 6:11

Today I reflect to an advertisement from a well-known razor company.  The ad featured a picture of a young couple embracing one another. The slogan stated that “love is never letting stubble come between you”.

The relevancy of this concept can also be applied to our relationship with the Lord.   When we read Solomon 2:15; we are informed that it’s the “little foxes that spoil the vine”.  The little foxes can be compared to as “stubble”.  Sometimes our lives are composed “spiritual stubble”.  We are harboring concepts and the like … although small in appearance, yet are greatly impacting our lives.

The word stubble is one of those words whose meanings can vary.  However for today we are referring to those small growths of hair that haven’t yet been shaven. Stubble is the beginning process of what will appear. Stubble, although a natural occurrence, has the tendency to be extremely uncomfortable, as well as abrasive to anyone with whom it encounters.  To prevent the growth of stubble, regular maintenance is required. However, to eliminate the stubble that has already appeared;  a sharpen tool, and the application of a skillful hand are required.

So in the natural…so in the realm of the spirit.  In many instances, we are more concerned about our outward, (physical) appearance than we are our inward, (spiritual). Our focus is more on the conclusive opinions of people.

The statement, “love is never letting stubble come between you”, reminds us that nothing; regardless of how small it may appear, should ever be permitted to come between us and our love for the Lord.  Stubble can be referred to as those seemingly “little no harm” thoughts, actions and deeds that we may find ourselves involved in. Far too often, we fail to realize that it’s in the formative stages, the “stubble” stages,… prior to the total manifestation, that we must be the most aggressive. We can’t wait for ungodly thoughts to become actions…we must “nip them in the bud”.  (Remember “stubble” can also produce or result in ungodly actions such as: indecisiveness, procrastination, habitual latenesses, excessive or extreme eating habits, unbalanced lifestyles, etc.)

Our love for the Lord must excel to the extent that we will not permit stubble in any shape, form or fashion, to come between us and Him. How do we prevent stubble?  The regular application of our “dual edged” blade.  Hebrews 4:12 informs us: For the word of God is alive and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (NIV).

We can also prevent the growth of stubble by the application of a planned daily maintenance routine.  We must begin our day by spending time in the presence of the Lord.  This will not only “shave off” any stubble; but will prevent its growth as well.  Beginning your day with the Lord will prevent you from getting up on the “wrong side” of the bed!  Beginning your day with the Lord will assist you in framing your day with faith filled words and eliminating the formation of thoughts and expressions that will manifest into unwanted and undesired plans throughout your day.

So, let’s be more determined that we will not permit anything; regardless to its minute size to come between us and our love for the Lord.  Remember, it’s those little, seemingly “no harm” things….. that stubble… that hinder your walk with the Lord; robbing you of the effectiveness of God given authority, power and privileges.

Be aggressive!  Read and apply the Word of God to your life – daily!  Then you will never have to be concerned with the formation (or the retention!) of stubble.

The Walking Bible

The Walking Bible

“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:”  II Corinthians 3:2

A while ago I was given the privilege of facilitating the workshop at a Sunday School Conference.  Their theme for the year was “The Walking Bible”.  So today, I’ll share a few of the key points and fully discuss them at a later date.

We must always remember that everyone who has accepted Christ as their Saviour is a Walking Bible.  However, our effectiveness is dependent upon our relationship with the Lord; and our ability to permit that relationship to govern our lives.   Our every move and decision reveals the impact that God – through His Word, has made on our lives. Although we’ve made adjustments and transformations – if the truth were to be told…..we still have a lot of work to do….and unresolved “issues” still lingering around.  If we were to take into account the amount of time – the years, that we have been saved; and measure it to our effectiveness in the realm of the spirit; the results usually would register very poorly and possibly even non - effective!

Four of the issues that were discussed are: Pride, Ignorance, Fear, and A Need for Mind Renewal.  This group is the foundational platform which anchors all of the reasons and excuses that we state for our lack of effectiveness as a Walking Bible.

PRIDE: In most of our lives the spirit of pride has so “cloaked” itself, that we can’t even realize that it’s still there.  We can always observe this spirit in others – yet rarely recognize it in our own lives.

IGNORANCE: How much do we really know about Christianity?  Do you just know your Bible? What about any background or historical information concerning the cult of Christianity?  Can you dialect with anyone from another religion and intelligently defend your religious beliefs and convictions?  Can you relay pertinent information about who you believe God to be using “non-religious” language and phrases?

FEAR: This is another multifaceted stone.  At the initial onset, most people would declare that they don’t have this issue.  However, when we really begin to dissect this spirit, we will realize that the spirit of fear is still more prevalent in our lives than we are aware of.

A NEED FOR MIND RENEWAL: I’ll just briefly state this, we are now living in the age of : ipads, ipods, socialcam, tablets, micro-chips, square and the like.  Have you been mentally upgraded?  Are you still using spiritual tactics that are harmonious a typewriter using a cloth ribbon?

As I previously stated: “We are all walking Bibles”.  However we must be more determine to take the proper measures that would enhance our effectiveness.  The unsaved need us to make that undeniable impression upon their lives that will cause them to reconsider their current spiritual condition.

Our goal now must be to exemplify that type of Walking Bible that will cause God to be glorified…..and the enemy horrified!!!

...What About YOUR Praise?

..What About YOUR Praise??

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.  Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.  At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

                                                                                                                      Acts 16:25 & 26

I’m one who doesn’t believe that there are coincidences in the occurrences of life.  I believe that every single thing has a purpose and a reason for transpiring.    I also know that everything - every detail; that is recorded in the Bible has relevance and is significant.

Therefore, whenever I’ve read this story about Paul and Silas, I’ve noticed how very descriptive it is.  Now, Paul and Silas were praying and singing – but why was it necessary to record the actions of the other prisoners?  Could it be that we were supposed to be made aware of the great impact that their praise and worship experience had on others?

So the sake of time…let’s fast forward.  What about YOUR praise?  What impact does it have on those who are bound?  Does your praise radiate to the extent that it will cause an effect, which will promote a ground moving, door opening, chain shaking release in the realm of the spirit?

Effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is not determined by the intensity or the loudness of a sound. The sound must authoritatively be released from someone who does not feel threaten by the actions or motives of those who are opposing them.

Paul and Silas, although locked in prison – were free men!  It is only when we obtain the ability to remain focused and free – regardless to where we are; without regards to who we are around; and when we can yet take a “stand” in the midst of every chaotic situation….  that our praise will have the potency and will resonate with the influence as theirs did.

As a result of their praying and singing – the very earth itself could not be contained!  We must realize that they didn’t wait until they were in prison and THEN begin to develop a relationship with the Lord. Their motive was not to break open the prison doors.  Their motive was to do what should come natural for all of us – to simply give God the praise IN all things.

So back to our original question, “What about YOUR praise?”.   In terms of effectiveness….  Is it powerful or pitiful?   In terms of sincerity…Is it heartfelt or hollow?

Anyone can praise God, however not everyone can render an “effective praise”.  You are not called to be ordinary.   God has called, appointed and anointed you to be one of the ones whose praise WILL loosen the demonic entanglements of others.

Remember that this type of praise won’t be developed during your worship service!  It must be cultivated during those times of intimacy with the Lord…..Then released at the appropriate time.

I would like to encourage you to re-read this story about Paul and Silas AGAIN!– this time with your focus on the details.  Then ask yourself “How can my praise render a more effective impact in the realm of the spirit?”

Seek the face of God and press into Him to the extent that your praise will automatically shift to the next level and “Break every chain, Break every chain, BREAK EVERY CHAIN!!!!”

The Strategy to Navigate

The Strategy to Navigate

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” Philippians 2:5

On yesterday, we encountered an on expected snow storm (blizzard!).  The meteorologist had predicted only a few inches which would begin in the afternoon.  Well, those “couple of inches” evolved into a storm producing upward of eight inches!  Therefore, most of us had to strategically navigate our journeys for any afternoon travel.  Maneuvering through the snow covered roads always presents us with various challenges.  It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve driven in a snow storm – every storm will require its own strategies to successfully navigate through it.

Although we may not be aware of it, but each new day presents an array of situations and circumstances which require us to “assess and conquer”.   Many times we are aware of specific challenges that will “grace” our day – and we’ve had the time to adequately prepare for them. However, sometimes these demands will be unexpected and require that we make split-second decisions.  Nevertheless, in either case – God has equipped us with an ability to advance through each situation successfully.  We have within us; although far too often undeveloped; the ability and the skill to strategically navigate through this maze that we call life.

To maneuver successfully through our own “obstacle course” not only requires skill, but: patience, endurance and concentration. (You’ll see this trio again!)

I found an app for my phone which gives me the opportunity to engage in a game called labyrinth.  This game has a labyrinth board which is composed of numerous holes through which one must successfully guide a small metal ball.  It is not until you’ve completed level 1, that you are permitted to progress to the next level - each level increasing in difficulty.

Life can be compared to that small metal ball on the labyrinth board.  It’s an obstacle course through which we must carefully, patiently and skillfully be guided and directed.   It demands that we take a seat – physically and mentally to map out a plan that will successfully enable us  to navigate around all of the potholes that the enemy has waiting for us.  We can usually get a “heads up” on some of them by surveying our natural bloodline.  Then as you discover various inherited “potholes” –  whether in the natural and in the realm of the spirit; use your kingdom authority to completely eradicate them.  Then declare that the buck stops here! Forbid the manifestation of anything that is not of the Holy Spirit to rest, rule or to reign in your life.    Remember…the enemy isn’t too smart!  However he is strategic and persistent.  Therefore, you must be strategic in your planning if you are going to outwit the enemy and navigate productively through your labyrinth board.

Lastly, but most importantly we must consider our mindset … for it is our determining factor.  One of the most over emphasized, misunderstood….. but vital focuses in Christendom is the subject of mind renewal.  Yet, it is essential and the prerequisite to our success on every level.  The process of mind renewal must be taken more seriously if we are going to effectively outmaneuver our enemy.

I would like to encourage you to increase, strengthen and awaken your current mental status – in the natural!   One sure way to begin this process is by engaging in logic puzzles and memory games.   Challenge your mind to accomplish what you haven’t recently experienced.  By trying a variety of puzzles, you will awaken various areas of your brain.   Without regards to your age, begin NOW and refuse to permit the spirits of Alzheimer and dementia to occupy space in your mind, because it has become deaden due to the lack of proper activity!

We must remember that an active mind is a productive mind.  A productive mind now must become a disciplined mind. A disciplined mind is ready to begin the perpetual process of strategically navigating through your personally designed - endtime diabolical labyrinth board!

“Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”                                               Romans 12:2 - New Living Translation

God Has Chosen You (pt. 2)

God Has Chosen You.., So Get To Steppin (part 2)

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

Have you ever dropped ketchup (the red one…we must specify these days!) on something white?  The stain is quite apparent and if not treated properly will never release its hold.  The item which has received the stain could be considered ruined, worthless and now good for nothing.

When we refer to the key scripture we can observe that we are given a ray of hope. As Isaiah begins to pen this book of the Bible, he is attempting to relay to Judah God’s ability of forgiveness and restoration.  He was informing them that it didn’t matter what effect that their sin had produced – God would forgive them and restore to their former state.

This is the thought that God wants to “drive home” today.  Don’t permit yesterday’s mistakes hinder you from fulfilling today’s promises.  Don’t live in the past.  Sometimes we must refer to the past and remember the lessons learn.  However, we are never to permit our past or present sinful experiences, delay us from moving forward in God’s plans for us.  Far too often people will state that they will do the work of the Lord….when they “get it together”.  They fail to realize that if they couldn’t keep themselves from committing a sin – that surely won’t be able to pull themselves out!  So…. People of God….. no further delays!  God has chosen you….so get to steppin!

We must remember that:

1. Everything that you have experienced in life has prepared you for the ministry that God has called you into.  (Note: Every child of God has been chosen to minister to someone and therefore    has a ministry!)

2. When you fall – don’t allow the enemy to keep you from doing the work and will of the Lord.  Get back up and keep it moving!

3. Daily ask the Lord for strength to be a living witness to someone.

4. Don’t allow the opinions and words of others keep you from performing the work of the Lord.

You have the ability to be used and to be:… remembered like Noah; favored like Moses; honored like Mary; used like Paul; victorious like the Israelites; prosperous like Isaac; promoted like Joseph;  intervene for you like Esther;  protected as Daniel was; healed  like Nahaam; answered like Elijah; and above all…….anointed like David.  Just as God used each of these – He wants to use you!

Always remember throughout your life time…. No matter what your age may be….. God has not called you home yet, because your work isn’t completed ….so since you’re still here…..… just know that…….

God has chosen u…so get to steppin!!!

God Has Chosen You.....

“God Has Chosen U…So Get To Steppin!!

Read: I Corinthians 12:14-28

Many times when we think about those who the Lord uses for and in ministry, we think that He only wants to use those who have certain qualifications.  We think that He wants those who: have made various educational accomplishments; have had extreme experiences; have eloquent speak or melodious voice, etc.   But I need to bring to your remembrance that, God Has chosen U!  So Get To Steppin…

You must remember that nothing you do or say surprises God. Before the foundation of this world – He established and placed in motion everything that you needed to be who He has called you to be.  The problem is, far too often, we have permitted the opinions of others and even sometimes our own opinions, to make us think that someone else is better equipped to fulfill the work of the Lord.

When must never forget that as the text implies God has given to each of us the gift that He knows will best suite us.  Everyone has at least one gift.

So, the next time you feel like God can’t use you; just refer to the list below.  Some of you have seen it before, but it serves as an excellent reminder to us that God can use whomever HE desires to use.  Now…. don’t use this list as an excuse to sin! However, just know that your struggles should not be the excuse for you to shun away for your calling.

Remember that:  Abraham thought that he was too old; Sarah mocked God and laughed at His promise; Isaac was a daydreamer; Jacob was a liar; Noah got drunk; Leah was ugly; Joseph was abused and he had a prison record; Moses stuttered; Gideon was afraid; Samson had long hair and was a womanizer; Rahab was a prostitute; Jeremiah and Timothy were both thought to be too young; David had an affair and was a murderer; Elijah was suicidal; Isaiah preached naked; Jonah ran from God; Naomi was a widow; Job went bankrupt; Peter denied Christ; The Disciples fell asleep while praying; Martha worried about everything; The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once; Zaccheus was too small; Paul was a boring, long winded preacher; Timothy had ulcers; Lazarus was dead and Peter had a quick temper!

Just as God used these people in Biblical times – he is using us today – REGARDLESS!  Now, remember, we are not to continue in the sins of our past or current lives – but we are never to allow the enemy to tell us that God can’t use us, because of our past or because of the struggles that we are still overcoming.

Romans 5:8 reminds us of God’s love for us.  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. While we were yet sinners God decided to use us for His glory!  We are a team.   On a team, there are different members and each plays a different role. Individual team members can win trophies.   This is great.  However, we are working to win a championship.   Championships are only won by teams.  They are won when the team pulls together; everyone doing their assigned job; to the best of their ability.

So….you’ve got to get to steppin in your neighborhood; you’ve got to get to steppin on your job; you’ve got to get to steppin in your family; and above all…you’ve got to get to steppin in your church.

Lastly, you must remember and say; without the gift that the Lord has given to me; my team will have difficulty and will not win its championship.  We are all working for the same common goal.  We are all on the same team….but without just one player, YOU… the championship can’t be awarded!  You are very much needed to assist your team of “born again believers” to uproot every diabolical plan of our adversary. Whatever gift that you possess, and the devil has made you think, that it isn’t really important – that very gift is the missing link!

Yes, God has called YOU….So Get To Steppin!!!!

OH NO! Not This Time!!!!!

OH NO! Not This Time!!!

“Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore, get wisdom; and in all thy getting, get understanding”. Proverbs 4:7

Today we appear to be forever learning – but never gleaning the proper understanding.  The Lord desires for us to remember and to understand three things;

1.          WHO He is

2.          WHAT He is doing

3.          WHY He is allowing us to encounter certain situations and circumstances.

Knowledge gives FACTS, but UNDERSTANDING permits me to apply the meanings of the facts that I’ve learned.  Many times we are experiencing the same situations over and over again.  This is usually because we haven’t gleaned the wisdom that’s necessary to understand WHO God is; WHAT He is doing and the WHY of His actions.  Therefore, we become frustrated, anxious, angry and discouraged.

Knowledge gives us Information but Understanding yields the application of Principles;

Knowledge impacts our memory but Understanding impacts our reasoning;

Knowledge builds scholars but Understanding creates teachers.

SO, this time when I’m confronted with the same situations….again… my response will reflect that I’m truly in a different place.  Since I don’t just have information but I now have an understanding of WHO, WHAT and WHY….I will emerge from every situation as “more than a conqueror”.  No matter what the opposition – I can tell the enemy..... OH NO – Not This Time!

In Mark 13:7 in the amplified version

7And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not get alarmed (troubled and frightened); it is necessary [that these things] take place, but the end is not yet.”

8For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines and calamities. This is but the beginning of the [a]intolerable anguish and suffering [only the first of the [b]birth pangs].

So when the next major calamity occurs; whether in my personal life, on a national level – or in the realm of the spirit…. that produces a shaking like “9 -11” did; My response will not be one of fear and frustration.  I will maintain my focus – and tell the enemy…OH NO – Not This Time!

When sickness comes again….because I now UNDERSTAND Isaiah 53:5 – I will stand an declare, OH NO..Not This Time!  I will not pray for my healing; but rather I will receive my healing because it has already occurred!

If finances become questionable, because I’m a tither and I UNDERSTAND Malachi 3:11 & Luke 6:38 - I can say OH NO..No This Time.

When Loneliness knocks at my door – I can confront that door with Deuteronomy 31:6.

When disappointments and tribulations arise… Romans 8:38 & 39 will be response…

And whatever the enemy throw my way, because I now have the proper UNDERSTANDING….I will use my God given authority, which is always based in His Word; and boldly proclaim …

OH NO…Not This Time!

Very soon heartaches will be over -  But until then we have God’s COMFORT,

Very soon pain will be no more, But until then God is saying My GRACE is sufficient,

Very soon there will be no more burdens, but until then we have His Strength,

Very soon I will possess everything that I need, but until them I Live by Faith,

Very soon I will understand EVERYTHING… BUT until then I’ll TRUST His actions!

Yes.. PRAYER is the key…FAITH unlocks the door….But UNDERSTANDING will OPEN that door and allow me to tell the enemy… OH NO, NOT THIS TIME

God Has Spoken........

…..God has Spoken – Let the Church Say AMEN!

God is not a man that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?                                       Numbers 23:19 (AMP)

Today the Lord is simply saying that when we say “Amen”, we are voluntarily confirming that we will stand firmly on what we believe has already been proclaimed by Him.  Therefore, whenever I say “AMEN”, I am affirming that I will stand as follows.

Anchored on what we know and never deviate from our principles – although our methodologies, and strategies may need to be amended from time to time – our principles must remain unchanged.

Motivated by the assurance of Whose we are– and daily affirming the same. Saying –I am the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19); I am delivered from the power of darkness and translated into God’s kingdom. (Colossians 1:13); I am redeemed from the curse of the law of sin and death. (1 Peter 1:18-19, Galatians 3:13), etc.

Equipped mentally, to use every available weapon that is at my disposal. (II Corinthians 10:4&5)

Never succumbing, submitting, or yielding to the spirits of defeat; discouragement and the like – which are ever present. (II Corinthians 4:8)

So, Yes! Because God has already spoken --- now, let us; who are the Church say:

I am Anchored by WHAT I Know,

I am Motivated by the assurance of WHOSE I am,

I am Equipped mentally,

I will NEVER yield to enemy’s temptations because I will remain under the protection of the Holy Spirit!

God has spoken…… Let The Church Say…. AMEN!

Who Opened That Door?

Who Opened That Door?

“……. See, I have placed before you an open door…..” Revelation 3:8

There is a saying, “All that glitters is not gold.” In other words, everyone and everything that appear to be authentic at a glance; are not always what it or they seem to be. Someone or something may seem to emit a certain “weightiness”; however a closer examination will reveal the truth.  Don’t be deceived by what your physical eyes may behold!

The spirit of Deception is running more rampantly, and rapidly than in previous times.  We must therefore enhance our ability to quickly discern the actions of the Lord.

We must also remember that every open door was not opened by the Lord.  Every new opportunity is not always the answer to your prayer! In our attempt to advance, we must not become anxious. Trust the Word of God and wait for Him.  God will never, ever permit or present to us an open door - an opportunity - which in any fashion cannot be aligned with His promises.  The Lord will never open a door whose entrance will lead us to compromise nor negate our relationship with Him….. nor will He ever present us with an opportunity where we must compromise our allegiance to Him.

In I John 4:1 we are reminded that we must not merely accept what appears to be ordained of God. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Accompanying advancement and elevation are the introduction of an array of open doors.  Therefore, prior to entering into any open door, be certain of its validity.  Prior to entering into any open door, be certain that you maintain your “alertness” in the realm of the spirit.  Be anxious for nothing!  God’s open doors are accompanied by His peace and His assurance.  When uncertain about embarking or venturing into a new area; wait and seek the face of God.

Always remember that the adversary desires to make YOU sabotage your own destiny by enticing you to move in the incorrect timing.

So, prior to entering into any open door, proceed with caution, stay alert and above all, you must know who has opened the door!

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.  Psalm 27:14

What is God Saying? Do You know?

What is God Saying?  Do You Know?

“Now all the king’s wise men came, but they could not read the writing, or make known to the king its interpretation.”  Daniel 5:8

This calendar year is extremely relevant and has produced several historic moments.  The most recent is uniting of two groups of people who both have expressed a sincere love and admiration for the Lord – but who just can’t seem to “iron out all of the details”.

What is God saying?  Simply because I don’t operate under the assumption that there are coincidences in life; I view the occurrence of Chanukah and Thanksgiving; both being observed on the same day, as God orchestrating the union of two groups of His children to reverence Him at the same time, as never before – in our life time.  This phenomenon hasn’t occurred for approximately 125 years – and won’t occur again until 2070!  We are experiencing a once in a life-time season.

What is God saying to YOU in this season?  As in Daniel chapter 5, everyone will not have the ability to understand and to read what God is saying in this season.  However, unlike the people in Daniel’s era we all (the children of God) have His Spirit within us.  Therefore, we have the ability to hear and to understand – IF we know how to LISTEN and to INTERPRET just what He is saying.

Seek Him now – in this season as never before.  God is saying that we are not to lean to our own understanding nor to the former ways which we adhered to.  Expect Him to do exceedingly and abundantly more than you ever imagined – and He will!  He wants to catapult you to a place in Him that will permit you to walk in a “mountain moving”, “earth shattering” anointing – that simply terrifies the enemy; and uproots every diabolical plan and plot that he is orchestrating.

Don’t let this moment pass you by….. You won’t live to see it again!

(Read Daniel chapter 5 in its entirety.)
