Independently Dependent

Independently Independent – Yet Dependent

“He whom the Son has set free, is free indeed.” John 8:36

In America today we are celebrating a holiday entitled Independence Day.  There have been festivities all week long; which will be concluded tonight with a finale marked by an elaborate musically choreographed firework display. People from various states have come here to Philadelphia for the purposes of expanding their knowledge of their country; as well as to engage in the enormous plethora of pleasurable activities.  Everyone is enjoying and sharing in the celebrations concerning their independence.

Just as equally or of greater importance is the fact that we, the Saints of the Most High God should be enjoying the fact that we are independently independent.  To be independent is to be; freed, liberated, unconventional, unconstrained and to an individualist.  We must never cease to remember that we have been released from all of the chains of the enemy; which previously held us captive. Our freedom has given to us the power and the authority to no longer be suppressed by the mindsets of this world and its chaotic influences. Our freedom has given to us the ability to excel in every task that we undertake.  Our freedom has given to us the advantage to decide for ourselves whether we will live or die.  Our freedom has afforded us with wisdom – if we avail ourselves to it.  That wisdom enables us to come to the realization that we must not – although free, be without; guidelines, perimeters and boundaries.

Therefore, although I am free…..I am yet bound. Although freed from the chains of the enemy; I have chosen to be totally dependent upon the established Kingdom Principles which will assure my current and future success.  I am free enough to be bound! I am free enough not to bow to the conventional, constrained traditions of man – which are desensitizing the effects of God’s Word. I am free enough to appreciate the individualistic character qualities that God Himself has entrusted to me.  I am free enough to walk above every circumstance in this life. Above all; I am free enough to stand in faith until the manifestation of God promises are made visibly evident.

So on this day of independence – I am totally independent of every: methodology, ideology, concept and precept of this world; its standards and its mandates. Yet, I am totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit for the wisdom, guidance, and the perseverance to implement every strategic plan that is required for me as a powerfully effective endtime warrior.

“ I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20 AMP

You Are My Lord…. You Are My King

“ ...Because you are my LORD, you are my glory.”

Jehovah Kabodhi”

(The Lord My Glory – Psalm 3:3)
“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”        Psalm 3:3

Read: Psalm 3 & Psalm 27

Today, I will affirm that through your power, Jehovah Kabodhi, I will always bring your glory, radiance, and splendor into every situation.  I affirm that you are the lifter of my head.   I also affirm that failure is never an option.  I have given to you the place of authority, and supreme “ruler ship” in my life.  Therefore, as I permit my will, emotions, and thoughts to be further conformed into your image – I am becoming that vessel of honor; broken by your love; and completely covered by your shield of protection.

May I never, ever become so overwhelmed by the nonsense of the adversary, that I forget that no weapon he devises can prosper.  It is because of your place of lordship in my life, that you may delay but never deny me anything necessary for me to succeed.    As my shield, your power is both offensive and defensive.  May I always remember that as my Lord, it is through the sustaining power of your Holy Spirit, that you have sealed within me gifts and anointings that are being manifested in this season.   Lord, reveal to me every area where your lordship does not have the preeminent rule.  May I continually realize that in every area of my life where you are not Lord; I am committing self-sabotage.  I am opening the door; permitting an entrance for my enemies and placing a break in your protective shield.

May I never cease to honor, and uphold you as my true Lord over and in every situation.  May my mind never wander nor become double - minded….because you are my Lord.  May I daily cast down every vain imaginations and every high thing that attempts to exalt itself against your divine Lordship in my life.

Lastly, because you are my Lord, may I daily captivate and bring every thought attentive to your obedience. Since every action is preceded by a thought, if I permit you….. Through the Holy Spirit… to correct my thinking; I will receive a renewed mind.  I will then have the ability to establish your “Lordship” over my mind.  I will have a mindset that is governed by kingdom principles…. and my daily walk will reflect that which is worthy of your approval.

Thank you Lord that will never walk in fear because I am perpetually protected, triumphant and successful in my every endeavor!  You are my Lord…..you alone are God!

King of my life, I crown Thee now,
  Thine shall the glory be;
Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow,
  Lead me to Calvary.

Transitioned  for Transformation

If change is to be effective, relevant and complete, it must occur in our minds.  Therefore, if I haven’t altered my thoughts, opinions and ideas concerning a certain matter, then my actions will not produce a permanent change.

According to the dictionary; transitioned means a process or period which something underwent a change and passes from one state, stage, form, or activity to another.   Therefore by its very nature the word “transitioned” bears witness that I have altered some component of my being.

I have not transitioned if everything about me has remained the same.  However as previously stated this process of transitioning begins in our minds.  My actions will only reflex the activity that my control center - my mind - has ordered.

Transformation however, expresses the end product; a completed change.

Today, in this season, God is especially using those who have permitted their minds to be transitioned by the indwelling power of Holy Ghost…. and through that transition, He has brought them into a state of transformation that cannot – will not ever be diminished.  It is these Children of the Most High God, who have now been “Transitioned for Transformation”.

Although the renewing of my mind is a progressive process; once the transition has produced transformation in a given area – then, that area cannot ever be controlled by the enemy again.

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I now have the ability to treasure and to be entrusted with the “weightier” matters.

                                                                                                                     (Luke 16:11)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

My total allegiance is to no one but the Lord. (Matthew 22:37)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I have no excuses for not walking in obedience to the call of the Lord on my life.

                                                                                                                      (Luke 11:28)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I know no defeat – I don’t have the ability to, nor the knowledge of failure.

                                                                                                               (Philippians 4:13)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I have not reached perfection in every area – but I am a threat to the kingdom of darkness!

                                                                                                                 (Luke 10:19)

Above all; when I have been transitioned for transformation, I am now ready to:

Manifest, Reveal and Demonstrate.  I’ll receive the Manifestation…. Expose the Revelation.. and To be a Demonstration of God’s written Word for all to observe.

Was That God's Voice?

Was That God’s Voice?

“and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.  And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.” John 10:4 &5

Many of you have asked me from time to time questions concerning the ability to distinguish the voice of God from your own thoughts and from the noise of the enemy.

As the end of time as we know it draws nigh, we have to maintain an alertness that will not permit the advancements of modern technology to further null or desensitize our natural abilities.  When we look in retrospect at those who have lived in previous generations – we will observe that they possessed the ability to be much wiser than we are today.  Our ancestors may not have had all of the “gadgets” that we now have, but they had the ability to use their natural senses in ways that are not common to us.

Just to side track for a minute.  We must be aware of the attack that has come against the verbal communication skills of our younger generation.  One of the end time strategies of our adversary is to get them to become so dependent on their devices that their brains lose their desire to communicate verbally.  Therefore, now we have a generation who can sit for hours – in the same room – and not verbally say a single word to each other!  But….will text each other instead of verbally talking. Can you see the strategy?  If they don’t value their ability to verbally communicate with one another, how can they comfortably verbally communicate with God?  Will they use their verbal voices to oppose the kingdom of darkness?

However, to be able to recognize the voice of God we must learn more about Him, and build a relationship with Him.  This is accomplished by spending valuable time in His presence and studying His word to the point that we will know exactly who He is.  When you were a child, no doubt there were times when your parents may not have been present.  However, because you had spent time in their presence and had come to know them, you know whether you could or could not adhere to certain behavior patterns.  You knew your limits because you knew your parents.

How can a bank teller know an authentic bill from a counterfeit?  Because they have studied the appearance and texture of real thing to the degree that they “know it”. So, how can we know the voice of God? By studying the real thing until we “know it”!  When we truly know God, then we will know His voice.  When we truly know God, we will know what behavior patterns are in accord with who He is.  When we truly know God, our thoughts, nor the noise of the enemy will sound the same in our ears, nor feel the same in our spirits.  When we truly know God, we will know what He desires, what He agrees with and what He want us to accomplish.  To know God is to truly love Him….And when you truly love a person….You will have no problem easily distinguishing their voice!

Nip It In The Bud...

Nip It In The Bud……

And Say “No Stubble Here”!

“Give us this day our DAILY bread” Matthew 6:11

Today I would like reflect to an advertisement from a well-known razor company.  The ad featured a picture of a young couple embracing one another. The slogan stated that “Love is never letting stubble come between you”.

The relevancy of this concept can also be applied to our relationship with the Lord.   When we read Song of Solomon 2:15; we are informed that it’s the “little foxes that spoil the vine”.  The little foxes can be compared to as “stubble”.  Sometimes our lives are composed of “spiritual stubble”.  We are harboring concepts and the like … although small in appearance, yet are greatly impacting our lives.

The word stubble is one of those words whose meanings can vary.  However for today we are referring to those small growths of hair that haven’t yet been shaven. Stubble is the initial process of what will appear. Stubble, although a natural occurrence, has the tendency to be extremely uncomfortable, as well as abrasive to anyone with whom it encounters.  To prevent the growth of stubble, regular maintenance is required. However, to eliminate the stubble that has already appeared; a sharpen tool, and the application of a skillful hand are required.

So in the natural…so in the realm of the spirit.  In many instances, we are more concerned about our outward, (physical) appearance than we are our inward, (spiritual). Our focus is more on the conclusive opinions of people.

The statement, “Love is never letting stubble come between you”, reminds us that nothing; regardless of how small it may appear, should ever be permitted to come between us and our love for the Lord.  Stubble can be referred to as those seemingly “little no harm” thoughts, actions and deeds that we may find ourselves involved in. Far too often, we fail to realize that it’s in the formative stages, the “stubble” stages,… prior to the total manifestation, where we must be the most aggressive. We can’t wait for ungodly thoughts to become actions…we must “nip them in the bud”.  (Remember “spiritual stubble” can also produce or result in ungodly actions such as: indecisiveness, procrastination, habitual latenesses, excessive or extreme eating habits, unbalanced lifestyles, etc.)

Again let me reiterate…. Our love for the Lord must excel to the extent that we will not permit stubble in any shape, form or fashion, to come between us and Him. How do we prevent stubble?  The regular application of our “dual edged” blade.  Hebrews 4:12 informs us: For the word of God is alive and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (NIV).

We can also prevent the growth of stubble by the application of a planned daily maintenance routine.  We must begin our day by spending time in the presence of the Lord.  This will not only “shave off” any stubble; but will prevent its growth as well.  Beginning your day with the Lord will prevent you from getting up on the “wrong side” of the bed!  Beginning your day with the Lord will assist you in framing your day with faith filled words and eliminating the formation of thoughts and expressions that will manifest into unwanted and undesired plans throughout your day.

So, let’s be more determined that we will not permit anything; regardless to its minute size to come between us and our love for the Lord.  Remember, it’s those little, seemingly “no harm” things….. that stubble… that hinder your walk with the Lord; robbing you of the effectiveness of God given authority, power and privileges.

Be aggressive!  Read and apply the Word of God to your life – daily!  Then you will never have to be concerned with the formation (or the retention!) of stubble.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”                         Psalm 139:23, 24 (KJV)

Are You Producing..........

Are You Producing….

Seedless Grapes?

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, …” Genesis 1:28

Throughout the Bible, the theme of reproduction is ever present.  In every era or dispensation we can observe that God intended for mankind to “establish & duplicate”.  In other words, God’s plan for mankind did not include mutated fruit – but fruit that would; “reproduce after its own kind” and fruit that would “remain”.

Seeds = potential.   Seeds represent God’s natural form of reproduction.  However, man has in his wisdom introduced an alternative to the wisdom of God.  For example, let’s consider how man’s intervention has interrupted the natural reproductive nature in the area of vegetation.   Now, although we all really enjoy eating the seedless varieties of fruit; can you make a connection between seedless vegetation and the seedless human race?  In other words, can mankind now so readily accept the introduction of lifestyles which are contrary to those originally instituted by God; because in our minds we have already accepted this concept?

God has planned for everything to reproduce “after its own kind”.  However, seedless grapes cannot be reproduced without the assistance of man.  For years now; we have just eaten them and have never given any thought to their origin.

I’m again reminded of the Cicadas who had made an appearance a few years ago; which had been underground for about 17 years.  Still alive; still thriving – but hidden! Many of the concepts of the enemy have been hidden for years, and even centuries!  However, because it is now restoration time – all that was hidden is now being revealed….but only “he who has an ear to hear” and an “eye to see” will be able to benefit from the many endtime revelations.

Think about it.  Could the concept of seedless grapes have mentally paved the road for the acceptance of homosexuality – (which is an attempt to alter the natural reproduction of the human race!)?  Could the concept behind the seedless grapes also have enhanced some of the “hassle-free” ideas that we have entertained concerning our work ethics?  Seedless grapes have no potential of their own and are completely contrary to every concept that the Lord has given to us in His word.  Seedless grapes represent man’s ability to develop and to improve upon something that God had already perfected….. just for the sake of convenience!

Now… don’t misunderstand me.  Will I cease to purchase seedless grapes? Absolutely not! (Not that I know of!) .  But just remember that God doesn’t want us to produce seedLESS grapes.  His desire for us is to produce fruit with the ability to reproduce after is kind – with no other interference than that which is generated and motivated by the Holy Spirit.

So, in this season; let’s be more mindful of anything in our lives that does not have the potential to be productive; as well as to monitor what we are reproducing.

By divine nature, we should all be reproducing some type of fruit. I challenge you today to permit the Fruit of the Spirit to be manifested ever the more in your lives.  Be determined that next year, or next month, or next week – will not find you still producing seedless grapes ….. But grapes with the potential to go forth; to reproduce and to fulfill the plans and purposes of God.

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:….”  John 15:16

How Can I Still Have PEACE?

How Can I Still Have

“P.E.A.C.E.”?

It matters not the obstacles that are bombarding us.  Nor the attacks that we are enduring; in the midst of it all – I can demand my PEACE!

Peace is not the absence of everything that is presenting an opposition.  I will have PEACE when I learn to develop the mindset of a victorious conqueror.  I must learn how to never lose my focus.  I must also understand the concepts that are displayed in these five words.

P -“Presence” - If I invite the presenceª of God to intervene;

E -“Endure”   - If I endure¹ as a warrior, not whine like a wimp; and view

my situation as an open door and not a dead end;

A -“Ask”        - If I ask² God for guidance, and not just do what “I” think is best;

C -“Cry”         - If I cry³ out to the Lord first– and not to other people;

E -“Expect”   - If I expectº and accept. Expect God to give me a strategy – so I’ll

keep an open ear - knowing that I must accept the process.

So….YES! I can still have PEACE in the midst of it all…..But the key is to:

Invite in the Presence of God into every situation; then to “Endure”; to “Ask” God for help; To “Cry” to Him and to “Expect” Him to change ME even when the situation doesn’t APPEAR to be changing.

     1 –James 1:22; II Timothy 2:3

     2 –Proverbs 3:5-7

…… Can’t Run This Race With Those “Cement Boots”!

“We have all these great people around us as examples. Their lives tell us what faith means. So we, too, should run the race that is before us and never quit. We should remove from our lives anything that would slow us down and the sin that so often makes us fall.”                                                              Hebrews 12:1 (ERV)

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.”

                                                                                          Hebrews 12:1 (MSG)

Let’s seriously consider our current status.  Seriously!  In many instances we have turned from the sin – but we are still carrying too much excess “baggage”.  So…It’s time to reboot your system and to receive a spiritual upgrade.  Let’s kick it up a notch.  In this season God is requiring a lifestyle of: discipline, integrity and diligence.

The Lord is saying, “As you begin to become restored to your wealthy place; don’t lose what you’ve acquired in “the wilderness”.  It was the lessons which were learned during those years that will empower you today.  Simply because your mind has remained focused EARNESTLY and DILIGENTLY towards Him and His attributes – you have been thrust into a new dimension.  However, as you gradually or suddenly begin to receive your increase; don’t permit your mindset to begin to drift to: sinful (those things which are a transgression) or wicked (those things which may not be a sin, however, things that we become interwoven with and can taint our anointing) appetites.   Don’t begin to slip back into old mindsets; maintain a level of discipline; uphold a level of integrity and adhere to a level of diligence.  You must also release from your life EVERYTHING that is no longer necessary in this dimension.  Although some things may have been quite beneficial in the past; now….in this dimension…. they are only weights….cement boots!  In this dimension; in this portion of the race which you are now running – there is no place for unnecessary weight…. Cement Boots!

I feel that three weights are very prevalent among us namely: worry, non-productive relationships, and “problematic people”…. all are cement boots.  All will hinder our ability to walk as the victorious conqueror that we are.

Can you identify the “cement boots” in your spiritual life?  God is daily revealing them to you.  Whatever or whomever He is attempting to strip from you - don’t try to cling on it or them.  Let them go! Trust God!

When we fully trust Him – we will obey Him. Then we will have the ability to retain all that we have acquired during this time of consecration.

Charity Begins At Home....

Charity Begins At Home

So Adopt A Merchant For A Week

13And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. 14 [Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am].”      John 14:13 &14

For a week the Lord has said that we are to be more “community minded”.  Therefore, He has instructed that you choose a specific merchant that you frequent or that is in your neighborhood and provide a prayer covering for them.   For one week, pray for them throughout the day as the Holy Spirit brings them to your mind.  This is to be in addition to any other praying that you might already be engaged in – in this area.

If you feel lead, you can express to the merchant that you will be praying for them for a week and inquire if they have any specific desires.   Not everyone will be used in the same manner.  Some of you will remain anonymous, while others of you will not.

Remember you are not to interfere with their normal flow of business.  Your times of praying for them will NOT be done at their location.  (Unless you are instructed to pray for them after normal business hours.)  It is imperative that you are led by the Holy Spirit; as to maintain an orderly and descent representation of Him.

Lastly, seek God for wisdom and direction before and as you pray.  Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you as you pray so that your prayers will be strategic in nature and powerful in implementation.

Lastly, (you know that most preachers have more than one closing!) Whatever is done in secret – will be rewarded openly.  This addresses your motive.  Although you may be lead to share this endeavor with others or with the merchant; ALL of the glory is to be attributed to the Lord – and belongs to Him alone.

Note: Some of you will be lead to incorporate this into a ministry project or a group effort.  However the Holy Spirit leads.  Just make certain that He is directing you, and that HE gets all of the recognition.

“ For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” James 2:26

Did You Hear That?

Did You Hear That?

“And when you shall HEAR the sound of marching in the top of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly.”  I Chronicles 14:15

Today the Lord, our Baal Perazim (the God of Breakthrough) is confirming His position in our current battle.  Just as He was with David, He is reminding us that His wisdom still supersedes that of the adversary.

When reading this story in I Chronicles (or II Samuel) we discovered that Baal Perazim required  David’s response  to be quick and at precisely the right time.  Let’s consider David’s responsibility.

  1. David had to know the voice of the Lord.
  2. David had to remain alert and attentive in the realm of the spirit.
  3. David had to already have his weapons and be positioned offensively.

When we attempt to correlate this story to our daily lives, we must remember that:

  1. David sought the Lord for direction prior to the onset of the battle.
  2. The Lord went before David and “Broke Through” the front line of the enemy’s defense.
  3. Whatever the Lord has done before, He still has the power to do again.

I found it interesting that David was told to LISTEN for a certain sound. If we are going to know exactly when to advance, conquer and reclaim our territory; then we must critique or fine tune our ability to recognize a specific sound. Far too often we are listening to and following the wrong sound!  For example, David was instructed to listen for a specific sound - the sound of marching.

Next, the sound was in a designated pace - the tree tops.  Not on the ground, nor in the air, but in the top of the trees.  Lastly, David was told the type of trees from which the specific sound was to resonate.

So because Baal Perazim had already preceded David, he (David) was able to be victorious.

Our God is still operating as Baal Perazim today.  He has broken through enemy territory and is permitting us to recover all!  But we must LISTEN for our specific marching orders.

Don’t permit a delay in your recovery because you didn’t hear or recognize voice of God concerning His specific instructions, advising you how and when to advance - and recover all!

The wealth of the wicked IS ours; however, we must adhere to the precise, explicit instructions from the Lord if we are to be privy to it!

Just as David did…. Seek the face of God, Listen for the Sound, and March your way to victory.

God is Still Moldng You....

God is Still Molding You….

Little By Little….Bit By Bit

“The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;”  Psalm 138:8

(Excerpts from a lecture that I had presented; please contact me if you desire to read it in its entirety)

Consider a wood carver (carpenter), a skin grafter (surgeon) and an ice sculptor.  Prior to beginning a specific job; each already has in view a picture of how the finished product should look.  Although each of these people is very skilled– their level of expertise is limited to their specific arena.  The materials that they use are quite different – but their techniques are similar. If they are going to be successful in their accomplishments, they all must first excel in a course entitled “Patience 101”.  Patience is a vital component that must be on board.  They all have also learned that a skillful hand is governed by a focused mind.  They have learned that because of the nature of their work; delicate and intensive procedures are involved.  They have learned that whether they must chisel, shave or chip – it must be done; layer by layer; little by little and bit by bit.

When God sees us He sees the finished product.  Therefore, every day, He is chipping, chiseling and shaving from us everything that is preventing us from becoming what He has already decreed that we shall become.

Wood, skin and ice are all composed differently; yet bare some of the same components.  How do we initially identify each?  By their outward appearance.    In comparison – how are we usually initially identified by others?  By what they perceive with their physical eye.  When people look at us – wherever we are – they expect to see us depicting who we proclaim to be.   Therefore, God as the craftsman is always chipping away old habits; chiseling away incorrect doctrines, theologies and traditions; and shaving off any traces of our former Adamic nature.

Every substance has a level of durability that is common to its molecular structure.   One test that yields a lot of information is the ability of a substance to endure heat.  When we consider our three elements; ice has the least resistance to fire; and wood the greatest.  God is taking us through each phase of our lives; in an attempt to get us to the point where our natural composition is completely changed ….and we become more of a “spiritual” molecular being.  His desire is that we will have the durability of the piece of wood – yet function with the versatility of ice.

So, wherever you are in your own spiritual developmental stage – you are still a “work in progress”.   When you have learned to permit your flesh (skin); to go through the process of isolation (required for the formulation of ice); then you will become as indestructible as a brick of gold (representative of wood).

“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb.

I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!   Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.  Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

…Because I Am Positioned For Wealth….

I Must Create An Atmosphere of Excellence

“Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.” Daniel 6:3

As we proceed daily to accomplish all that the Lord has assigned our hands to do; we must always remain cognizant of the fact God expects us to be a living example of “excellence” by creating this type of atmosphere wherever we are.  This character quality appears not to be as important to some as it should.  One of the causes for the failure to build an atmosphere of excellence is the fact that many are still being held captive in a mindset that has been produced by a spirit of poverty and lack.  Therefore, although they are productive in the realm of the spirit; although they love the Lord; and are living a lifestyle that is well pleasing to the Lord…they lack the ability to create an atmosphere of excellence.

The Spirit of excellence; prior to its demonstration; must have the ability to engulf our minds to the extent they we can first detect anything that is in disarray within us.  Excellence begins inwardly and flows from within.  Excellence is a mindset that commands and demands that we bring into a state of order….. everything – on every level and in every situation.   Therefore, when we have permitted this Spirit of excellence to begin a work WITHIN us …. we will then possess the ability to permit that Spirit to be released FROM us and to infiltrate atmosphere AROUND us.

One of the main culprits of the Spirit of Excellence is an undisciplined or non-conscientious mindset.  My ability to identify and uproot any degree of “slackness” that may be within my mind… is to first be able to… “Recognize its fruit then uproot”!   So because excellence refers more to mental condition; I can be a millionaire and still not have a disciplined mindset…. And lack the ability to create an atmosphere of excellence.  My ability to create an atmosphere excellence is not contingent upon my material gain or assets.   My ability to create an atmosphere of excellence is dependent upon my true weightiness in the realm of the Spirit; which will permit me to detect every diabolical plot, plan and ploy.

To create an atmosphere of excellence I must daily refuse to permit others to clutter my mind.  I must maintain a sense freedom.  To create an atmosphere of excellence I must be determined to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.  Finally, to create an atmosphere of excellence I must live according to Philippians 4:8 which states….

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Wisdom “IS” The Principle Componant…

…Not more Word….But More Wisdom

“Lord may I daily walk in a state of wisdom that operates above my physical age, and experiences.”

El De’ot”

(The God of Knowledge - Proverbs 19:8)

“Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom and in all of thy getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

Read: Proverbs 4 & James 1

To have obtained information, yet lack the knowledge and the understanding of its application; is equivalent to walking in a rain storm; carrying a closed umbrella; and complaining that you are now soaking wet!  Many Christians today are experiencing a since of being “overwhelmed” by the circumstances and the occurrences of their daily lives.  Most are truly devoted Saints - who can tote, quote and know who wrote the Bible.  However, they have not received the wisdom for proper application of the God’s word.

So today Father, I will no longer be content; and I refuse to be one who has simply memorized your Word – but lack the wisdom that is embedded within your Word.  I ask that you El De’ot, reveal to me the hidden treasures of your Word.   I understand that I can no longer afford to walk in ignorance concerning the application of your principles.  You have given me a work to accomplish. I have the tools, I have the plans, and I have the true desire to continue to walk in your divine guidance.  However, the missing element which is now vital, is a degree of your wisdom which is equivalent to or which surpasses the amount of your Word that is within me.

El De’ot, May I always remember that for every minute that I am not aggressively applying your wisdom, “I” am permitting a delay in the manifestation and the execution of your plans for my life.   “I” am opening the door for diabolical distractions. “I” am giving fuel to kingdom of darkness and giving it permission release and execute its plans…… Simply because “I” have not intensely sought you for wisdom.

Therefore, I will plunge into you and seek your wisdom at any cost.  The degree of your wisdom which I have already attained, mandates that I push through EVERY obstacle, and pursue not to get more of your Word – but a fuller understanding of the Word that I have already obtained.

I will, I must, with a renewed tenacity seek the guidance and direction that is only procured from you; My omniscient Father…. My God of knowledge… My El De’ot.

Be Mindful of Your Actions…..

Because All Eyes Are On You!!!

“And WHATEVER ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,…..”

                                                                                                                Colossians 3:17

Believe it or not – someone is watching you!  Could be: a neighbor, co-worker, family member, someone that you pass on a regular basis, your favorite waitress or waiter, and this list could continue forever!  However, we must realize that because we have made a decision to stand for Christ, our every move is on display.  We are daily making an impact on the life of someone.  The problem is…..What type of imprint am I stamping in the lives of those who may not know me…may not know my name – but SEE me on a regular basis?

Think about it…. Am I known by my “walk” or my “talk”?  Most of us can talk a good game.  We have all of the correct answers and responses.  But, does my talk outweigh my walk?  Does my “dedication” to the Lord end when I leave my church or place of worship? If the people with whom I worship and the people who see me on a regular basis were to compare their notes on me – would they think that they are comparing two entirely different people?

I’m reminded of an incident which occurred many years ago.  While shopping I had an encounter with a store manager.   Prior to leaving the store, my son said to me, “Wow, you were very nasty to him”.   So, my immediate response was to go find the manager and apologize to him for the manner in which I had spoken to him. It wasn’t what I had said, yet, it was the manner in which I had spoken the words.   Now, I didn’t attempt to justify my actions - by presenting any explanations to the store manager or to my son.  I just moved in instant obedience to correct a wrong.  I instantly apologized to the manager.  Therefore, my actions were more impressive than any preached sermon; impacting both the manager and my son.

In response to Genesis 4:9, yes – I am my brother’s keeper.  It IS my responsibility to be more concerned about the impact that I am making on and in this world.  I’ve heard many people say, “Well I’m just being me.”  Yes…and that’s the problem.  God doesn’t want us to be ourselves – He wants us to: renew our minds (Romans 12:1&2), come out from among the foolishness (II Corinthians 6:17 & 18) and live a lifestyle that is in accord with who He is!   Everyone has come out of the closet – except the Christians.  God doesn’t need any secret agents or undercover Saints; especially when it comes to taking a stand for Him.

So make a decision to be more conscious about those who are watching you.  Don’t air your dirty laundry in public!  There are times when it is necessary to be transparent; but use wisdom.  Be more concerned about being a living example for the Lord – than satisfying your flesh.  (Note: Fast and pray for the strength to totally eradicate sinful acts!)

Anyone can say, “Lord I love you”.  However, are you willing to “Show” that love by slaying the deeds of your flesh (Romans 8:13 & Colossians 3:5) and allowing your daily lifestyle to become the magnet, which will attract the people who are watching you?  Believe it or not, All Eyes Are On You!!!!

Who's In Charge?

Who’s In Charge?

Are YOU Still The C.E.O.?

Read: Proverbs 3

In corporate America many have the desire; expressed or unexpressed; to become the Chief Executive Officer of a particular establishment.  They think that they could maintain the degree of assertiveness, and stability which accompany that title.   Some also like the prestige that they feel such a title would warrant them.

In the business arena, a company can’t function properly under the direction and leadership of an ill-advised, immature and inadequately prepared C.E.O.  The fate of such a business is never one that will yield a positive return.  It doesn’t matter how weighty the potential of its employees; their ability to excel or to benefit greatly, will be significantly diminished because of the incompetence of the C.E.O.

The same holds true in the realm of the spirit.   Far too often we are wondering why we haven’t reached certain plateaus in life.  We wonder why things appear to be “sailing high” for a while – and then they seem to plunge or take a spiral twist downward.

Could the possible reason be that YOU are still attempting to govern your life from the position of the C.E.O.?  Are YOU still inadvertently calling the shots and establishing the rules?  Have YOU decided that the rules that have been tried and proven; established centuries ago; and really required for your success are just too rigid?

Let’s take a quick inventory.  In the area of showing compassion; is it shown to everyone, or do you pick and choose to whom you will display acts of kindness (according to Ephesians 4:32)?  What about studying and memorizing the Word of God (according to Ps. 119:11)?  Are you still memorizing your sword on a regular basis – or do you think that’s just for those new converts?  What about in monetary giving – above that menial 10% that is required as a tithe (according to Malachi 3:10)?   Isn’t it interesting that many will only give unto the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings 10% - and feel as those they have accomplished a great task….when even the worst waitress  receives at least 15%?!   How about the visitation of those who are; incarcerated, homebound, in nursing homes, in juvenile detention centers etc.?  What about in the area of assisting the widows, orphans, single parents, and the elderly? (according to Matthew 25:31-46)

The above listing is very abbreviated.   However when the Lord is in control; when He is the true C.E.O. of our lives; He will make certain that our lives are being lived according to the ground rules that He has given to us.  Many times a particular task may seem too difficult.  Many times we will eagerly say that we weren’t “called” to function in a specific area.  However, we are all called to relinquish the position as the head of our lives.  When God is truly the C.E.O. of our lives He will lead and guide our every step.  Although our walk will experience “seasonal” changes – each season will occur under the careful and productive hand of the Lord – when He is the C.E.O.

So don’t hastily say that the Lord is in control of your life and that He is “first in my life”.  I feel as though we all have an area (or maybe areas!) where we haven’t totally and graciously surrendered the reins.  Ask Him to reveal it (them) to you.  Then ask Him for the wisdom and direction needed to totally place Him in control.

Yes it’s a new day in the realm of the spirit.  So embrace the “newness” by allowing a shifting of the guards.   Permit a new C.E.O. to come on board…..and when He comes, permit Him to replace EVERYTHING that is not in accord with what He deems beneficial.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5&6

I've Been Delivered!

Lord… You are my Ultimate Deliverer!!

“JEHOVAH MEPHALTI”

(The Lord my Deliverer - Psalm 18:2)

“Surely you shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the noisesome pestilence” Psalm 91:3

Read Psalm 18 & Psalm 91

The Bible displays are least four concepts for the word deliverance.

Briefly: (1) "to deliver out of the hands of..., to escape." We can find this example in the Hebrew word Natsal (Strong's #5337)

(2) "drawing someone to one's self." - Rhuomai (Strong's #4506)

(3) "to deliver into the hands of...for the purpose of judgment."  -  Nathan (Strong's #5414)

(4) "to have ample space between oneself and one's enemies." Yasha (Strong's #3467)

Therefore today we can stand assured that whatever our need is concerning deliverance; our Jehovah Mephalti is well able to manifest it.  When we combine the four definitions above we can comprehend that our God will not only rescue of His people from the dominion of Satan and the world system, but in the process of rescuing and delivering from, He will draw and deliver us unto Himself.  One commentary summarizes the entire process as:  “To be removed by God from the hand of the enemy and drawn close to Himself, from which position God places us in confrontation with the enemy on God’s own terms, in order for us to gain victory and defeat the enemy, and to experience freedom from oppression in an ample and secure place.”

As you seek your Jehovah Mephalti today, ask Him to reveal to you the areas in your life where total deliverance has not yet occurred - as well as any obstacles and road blocks that are still preventing you from obtaining your total victories.

Also remember, just because you haven’t physically seen the manifestation of deliverance in specific areas; that doesn’t reveal the true essence of the situation.  We must continue to walk by faith and not by sight.  We must learn the art of adjusting our thought patterns so that our words will not delay the manifested presence, of the evidence, of the deliverances, that we have sought the Lord for.

So just remember: EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING was conquered at Calvary!  No more lack in any area of my being or estate! I’m Delivered…. And have been made whole…..all because of my JEHOVAH MEPHALTI!

Moving From Fetters to Freedom

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishment on the peoples, To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron,   Psalm 149:6-8

There was a hymn entitled, “Jesus Breaks Every Fetter”.  Even though that song is rarely heard its implication hasn’t loss it validity.  When we bring to mind thoughts concerning the word “fetter”, we can to correlate it to various obstacles that the enemy attaches to us to delay our progress in the Lord.   Whether they be: areas of sin or weaknesses in the flesh; the phenomena of life; or circumstances totally beyond our control; - a fetter is anything that is tied to me which restricts my mobility and/or my advancement.

There are those things that YOU have permitted to shackle; bond; chain and yoke themselves to you in the natural; therefore your effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is none productive.  Many times we are attempting to assist others in a deepen walk with the Lord, yet we have not been freed ourselves of our many “fetters”.  However Jesus still breaks EVERY iron fetter.

What are some of the evidences that our iron fetters have been broken?

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, my concern is to increase my relationship with the Lord - just because of who he is - not because of what he can do.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, I will realize that as I increase in my love walk and in every other walk in my life - so will those with whom I am connected.  (The proof IS in the pudding!  Leaders.. We cannot longer expect others to walk in a level of excellency that we are not committed to.)

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, my appetites are disciplined and my motives pure.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, the manifestation of the enemy’s work won’t frighten me, his maneuvers don’t surprise me and his schemes can’t outwit me.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, I won’t just sing, “It is Well With My Soul”, but my life will exemplify and verify so.  (By your fruit shall you be known!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, the peace of God WILL rule my mind,  I WILL walk above EVERY circumstance in this life, and I WILL remain focused on and committed to the plans and purposes  that the Lord has assigned to me.

Therefore to obtain the freedom which will permit the peace of God to continually infiltrate our lives; surpassing all understanding;…. every iron fetter and its power must be broken.

So ….its once again dependent upon the status of your mind! Once your mind has been liberated from its fetters – you will have the ability to be…and to maintain total freedom in every area of your life!

"He whom the Son sets free is free indeed!" John 8:36

I'm Successful!!

I’m Successful!

But… How Do YOU Measure Success?

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 37:4

The word success is one of those words whose meaning is understood or established by the intent of its user.  Therefore, because everyone has pre-determined differently their own set of aims, goals and purposes – we can agree as well as disagree on what we deem to be successful.

In this era it is imperative that we “re-determine” who and what we use as our “plum-line” to measure success.  Our overall motives must be geared more towards the eternal than the temporal.  In other words; it’s time for us to permit our spiritual appearance to outweigh our physical appearance.  We should deem it of greater importance that we are recognized in the realm of the spirit – than in the natural.

Think about it.  When you arise in the morning; even prior to getting out of your bed; what impact have you made in the realm of the spirit?  What level of success did you achieve even prior to entering into your devotional time with the Lord?

To accomplish any plateau of success, one must realize that their future estate hangs upon the decisions that they permit their minds to develop and conclude.  Therefore, I must realize that if I utilize what the world deems as “success” to govern my life; I might not avail myself to gleaning the best of life.  (Romans 12:1&2).

Prayerfully re-consider your goals; long term, intermediate and short term.  Never permit the enemy to convince you that you can’t accomplish and exceed whatever your dreams may include (Ephesians 3:20).  If you can dream it – you CAN accomplish it! (Philippians 4:13)

Lastly, don’t become apprehensive about seeking the advice of those who have already accomplished something similar to what you are attempting to embark upon or achieve..  Be determined and develop a sense of tenacity that will endure – REGARDLESS! The first person that you ask might not be the person that the Lord has decreed to assist you…. But don’t be a quitter! History has revealed that most of the accomplished writers, inventors, musician, etc. were once told by “professionals” that they would never make it…. BUT GOD…….!!!!!

Every level of success is achieved when YOU have accomplished the intent that YOU… Governed by the Holy Spirit have pre-determined.

Remember: The sky is not the limit……. You have no limitations…. You have been freed to excel….. You have been equipped to soar and You have been destined for success! REGARDLESS!!!!!!!

I’ve Got To Get Out of My Comfort Zone…

So, I’ll Get Out Of The Boat….But Stand On The Rock!

There have been quite a few popular books published recently expounding on the concept of getting out of the boat.   However today, we are going to “kick it up a notch”.  Getting out of the boat is the initial step.  So what’s the next step?   STANDING ON THE ROCK!!!

Just to recant; the basis for this perception of getting out of the boat is referenced in the book of St. Matthew 14:23-33.  When we refer to this story we are informed that it is the fourth watch.  Now, the fourth watch was the final watch.  That’s when Jesus showed up!  So today….because we are in the “final watch”…therefore, we can expect Jesus to show up in our situations – at any time. SUDDENLY!!!  Look for Jesus! He will show up! (We’ll discuss this in detail at a later date.)

So, what does getting out of the boat entail? Basically, first, it means that I must move beyond the arena where I know that I can excel.  I must advance from the level where I have already acquired a certain degree of knowledge and where I feel as though I can “tread the water”……my comfort zone!  I must now begin to exercise my faith and to venture into those areas within in me….that are still “uncharted waters”.  We all have within us gifts and callings which have yet to be developed.  As I explained in a previous lesson…. discover your “Untapped Potential”.

To begin to discover my untapped potential; I have to come to the realization, that I must make a conscious decision to step out of my boat…my own will, emotions, gifts etc..  Next, I must come into an agreement with the mind of God and into the next phase of the purpose that He has for my life.  To get out of the boat means that I have to relinquish the pillars of my education, past experiences and acquired knowledge … and rely totally on God.  In other words….I must learn to stand solely on the promises of God.  He must become my only Rock.

To get out of the boat and to stand on the rock requires me to: maintain my focus, increase my fortitude and to anchor myself in the Word of God.

As I stand…like Peter, I must: Ask, Seek and Wait.  Peter first asked, “Lord is it you?”. Therefore, before you just jump out of your boat – know whose voice is calling you!   Next, always seek the face of God for instruction, wisdom and direction.  Lastly, learn to Wait for the manifestation of His divine presence. Peter’s decision to advance out of the boat came after direct instructions from the voice of the Lord in response to his questions.  Jesus told him specifically two things.  Be not afraid and come.

Today, we are still being instructed to: take courage, be not afraid, and get out of the boat…..but to stand on the Rock.  I am reminded of two hymns (for those of you who still remember what there are!).  The first is, “In Times Like These”.   The chorus (the vamp) said, “Be sure, be very sure your anchor holds and grips that solid Rock”.  The other hymn is, “My Hope is Built”.

In conclusion, to get out of the boat and stand on the rock I must have: a made up mind (Philippians 2:5); persistence (I Corinthians 15:58), and above all an expressed level of unwavering faith (James 1:6-8).

My Hope is built on nothing less; Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness,

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

On Christ the solid rock I stand; ALL other ground is sinking sand!

In Times Like These
Words and Music by Ruth Caye Jones

In times like these you need a Savior, In times like these you need an anchor;
Be very sure, be very sure; Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

In times like these you need the Bible, In times like these O be not idle;
Be very sure, be very sure, Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

In times like these I have a Savior, In times like these I have an anchor;
I'm very sure, I'm very sure, My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

Chorus
This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He's the One; This Rock is Jesus, the only One!
Be very sure, be very sure, Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

Protect Your Seed!

Protect Your Seed!

Use Your Kingdom Authority!

Behold, I have given you authority, …….over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

The only way to avert the successful attacks of the enemy in our lives is to become informed of the tactics that he is using.   Most of the time we will tend to respond to a specific attack by using physical weapons; rather than to initiate a diabolical encounter against the kingdom of darkness.  As I have often said, we are reactive instead of proactive.   .

The time is now when we must “step up our game” and expand our knowledge.  We must not continue to remain ignorant concerning the devices of our enemy.  The Bible informs us of various animals which represent the evil forces that have been dispensed or released and operate to destroy us.

If we are to remain prosperous, we must protect our seed.   God has given to us seeds which are intended to be sown and then to produce a harvest.  However, seeds attract birds.  So in the natural… so in the realm of the spirit.   Spirit birds are attracted to spiritual seeds.

I have posted the list below which was extracted from “Prayers that Rout Demons” by John Eckhardt ; quite a while ago (January of 2009).  The list includes decrees and names some Spirit Birds.  Not all birds are attracted to the same Spiritual seed.  However, their purpose is to prevent our seeds from producing its intended harvest.

(Although the Lord has promised us that He would rebuke the devourer on our behalf – we must remember that He uses us to accomplish His work here on the earth.  Therefore, we must be properly equipped, ready to be used of Him.)

As you read through the list, ask the Holy Spirit to highlight those which directly concern you.

Dealing With Spirit Birds

I prohibit and rebuke any unclean and hateful bird sent against my life by the enemy in the name of Jesus (Rev.18:2)
I exercise my dominion over the unclean fowl of the air in the name of Jesus (Ps 8:8)
Let every spirit bird sent against me be taken in the snare (Eccles 9:12)
I bind and rebuke every spiritual vulture in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:15)
I prohibit the operation of the screech owl (night monster) from operating against me in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:11)
I prohibit and rebuke the cormorant (the vomiting pelican) from operating against me in the name of Jesus (Isa 34:11)
I prohibit and rebuke the bittern from operating against my life in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:11)
I prohibit and rebuke any raven sent against my life in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:11)
I prohibit and rebuke any demonic eagle and hawk sent against my life, and I command their nests to be destroyed in the name of Jesus (Job 39: 26-30)
I pray these unclean birds would be caged in the name of Jesus ( Jer. 5:27)
I prohibit and rebuke any unclean bird that would attempt to nest in my life in the name of Jesus.
Let every wandering bird be cast out if its nest in the name of Jesus (Isa. 16:2)
Let YOUR presence Lord, drive every unclean bird away from my life (Jer. 4:25-26)
Let every fowl of heaven operating against my life be consumed in the name of Jesus (Zeph. 1:3)
Let these birds flee and fly away at Your rebuke (Jer. 9:10)
Let me walk in the path of wisdom that no fowl knows (Job 28:7, 21)
I will not be afraid of the terror by night, and I rebuke every night bird that would attempt to visit me at night (Ps. 91:5)
I am not a companion to owls (Job 30:29)

Now Father, as I study permit the windows of my spirit to receive a sharpen and a keener discernment ..…Thus availing me with the abialty to walk always as the victor and not the victim!

And it is so!
