The Faith Progression

The Faith Progression

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”  Luke 11:9 & 10

It appears that many Christians believe that the intensity exerted when praying; or the volume of their voices when praying; reflects their ability to receive an immediate response to their request.

I often refer to Paul’s request to the Lord in reference to the “thorn in the flesh”.  The Bible specifically states that he sought the Lord three times.  Why?  It seems to imply that he wasn’t accustomed to making a request that many times.  Today, we would have said, “Come on Lord…I’ve asked you 3 times…what’s up?  Why haven’t you done what I’ve asked you yet?”

I know enough about God, my Father, to understand that He is omniscient (all knowing, all seeing and very well informed!).  Therefore God doesn’t have to place me in a given situation and WATCH my reactions or responses to know what I will do.  He has already known exactly what my responses will be prior to me even being born.

However, I must undergo a progression in my level of faith that will bring forth to me the manifestation and the revelation of God’s response to my request.  Sometimes we can simply “Ask”- something….and the answer is given.  Everyone has that level of faith.  Then there are times when we must dig a little deeper.. – the “Seeking” level.  (Like when you can’t find something and someone else comes in… moves a few things around and discovers what you couldn’t find! You may have looked -but they sought.)  The seeking level is when the revelation of an answer to our prayers may require that our level of faith be increased. At this level, we are required to wait a little longer prior to seeing the manifestation of our request.  Then there’s the “Knocking” level.  Knocking expresses repetitive motion.  It implies that there is a barrier or a blockage in front of me – something preventing me from gaining that access that I so desire.  So at this level, God is attempting to get me to move out more in faith and take the necessary measures to destroy whatever is preventing me from receiving the access to His response.

Walking by faith in God requires that we understand the principles of Asking, Seeking and Knocking.  Strangely enough, if we take the first letter from each of those words we will form the word ASK.  Could it be that God is trying to tell us that our faith must progress to the simple level of merely asking and then believing it to be done?  Far too often we tend to make the process more difficult than God intended it to be. He simply wants us to Place our petitions before Him (Ask); Then continue to stand in faith – not wavering nor losing heart. Just finding more scriptures to support our petition that has already been placed before the Lord (Seek); and finally be PERSISTANT in our expectation of the petition placed (Knock).

God’s ultimate desire for us is to develop our level of faith in Him to the extent that once we have placed our petitions before Him… that we immediately begin to react as though that petition has been granted.  We declare that we are walking by faith; however most of us are not.  Most of us are still walking by sight.  Why do I say that? Simply because many will place the same petitions before the Lord day after day – until they physically SEE the manifestation!   We will sing and say, “Don’t wait til the battle is over…shout now”.  But in our hearts we are still doubting and walking in a diminished degree of faith…. And not totally shouting and rejoicing until we physically have be granted our petitions.  In all actually most are walking by SIGHT and not by faith!

So let us be determined that we will no longer “walk around in circles” in the area of our faith.  Let us exercise our faith….stretch our faith…. And be more “unwavering” in the area of our faith.  Let’s grasp the total concept of Asking, Seeking and Knocking…. And we will discover that our level of faith will progress from; little faith to great faith to mountain moving faith.  Then we will daily walk in that level of faith, which will produce in us an expectation and an undeniable manifestation of God’s favor in every area of our life!

What About YOUR Praise?

What About YOUR Praise??

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.  Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.  At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

                                                                                                                      Acts 16:25 & 26

I’m one who doesn’t believe that there are coincidences in the occurrences of life.  I believe that every single thing has a purpose and a reason for transpiring.    I also know that everything - every detail; that is recorded in the Bible has relevance and is significant.

Therefore, whenever I’ve read this story about Paul and Silas, I’ve noticed how very descriptive it is.  Now, Paul and Silas were praying and singing – but why was it necessary to record the actions of the other prisoners?  Could it be that we were supposed to be made aware of the great impact that their praise and worship experience had on others?

So the sake of time…let’s fast forward.  What about YOUR praise?  What impact does it have on those who are bound?  Does your praise radiate to the extent that it will cause an effect, which will promote a ground moving, door opening, chain shaking release in the realm of the spirit?

Effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is not determined by the intensity or the loudness of a sound. Effectiveness is produced from a sound which has authoritatively be released from someone who does not feel threaten by the actions or motives of those who are opposing them.

Paul and Silas, although locked in prison – were free men!  It is only when we obtain the ability to remain focused and to keep our minds “free”…

 – regardless to where we are;

-  without regards to who we are around;

-  and when we can yet take a “stand” in the midst of every chaotic situation….  that our praise will have the potency and will resonate with the influence as Paul and Silas’ did.

As a result of their praying and singing – the very earth itself could not be contained!  We must realize that they didn’t wait until they were in prison and THEN begin to develop a relationship with the Lord. Their motive was not to break open the prison doors.  Their motive was to do what should come natural for all of us – to simply give God the praise IN all things.

So back to our original question, “What about YOUR praise?”.   In terms of effectiveness….  Is it powerful or pitiful?   In terms of sincerity…Is it heartfelt or hollow?

Anyone can praise God, however not everyone can render an “effective praise”.  You are not called to be ordinary.   God has called, appointed and anointed you to be one of the ones whose praise WILL loosen the demonic entanglements of others.

Remember that this type of praise won’t be developed during your worship service!  It must be cultivated during those times of intimacy with the Lord…..Then released at the appropriate time.

I would like to encourage you to re-read this story about Paul and Silas AGAIN! This time with your focus on the details.  Then ask yourself “How can my praise render a more effective impact in the realm of the spirit?”

Seek the face of God and press into Him to the extent that your praise will automatically shift to the next level and “Break every chain, Break every chain, BREAK EVERY CHAIN!!!!”

What about the Christmas Tree?

What about the Christmas Tree?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Proverbs 3:5 ESV

Many have asked me to address this subject and “I” never really felt the necessity to do so.  However, it appears that every year more and more people are being misled and are not researching the scriptures for themselves.

The scriptures in question are Jeremiah 10:1-5 and Isaiah 44:12-28.  To summarize the teachings; these scriptures are referring to those who would cut down trees, decorate them, burn them to use them for heat,  take them to woodcarvers to have images engraved upon them and pray to them.  Those trees would be used for idol worship.  So my question is: “Are you worshipping a Christmas tree?”  Are you using or involving it in worship instead of worshipping Jehovah God?  Are you idolizing it or having images engraved in it?  This is what was being address by the Prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah.

Then some are stating that the Christmas tree should not be used because of its Pagan origin.  Well, to be truthful most of the practices that we have adopted have such an origin….Yet we adhere to them.  If I were to name just a few that we entertain on a daily basis many of you would be surprised. I would even dare to say that everyone of us engage in at least one of these practices every single day!

Let’s not permit the enemy to allow us to become distracted by causing our focus to drift.  Christ must be the focal point of EVERYTHING that we engage in.

REMEMBER: Jesus is still the reason for this season!  It’s really not that deep!!!!

Colossians 3:17 states it this way: “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all to the glory of God.”

Our Christian religion is composed of various symbols. The Evergreen Tree which is used as a Christmas Tree should be viewed as just another symbol that can be implemented at this time of the year for the believer. Therefore, as for me, whatever I bring into my home will be used to bring glory and honor to the Most High God.  I won’t worship the tree; but I will permit each ornament and each piece of decoration on my tree to stand as a visible reminder of the everlasting, ever-abiding presence of the Holy Spirit… whose power has birthed and illuminated an unquenchable flow of love, joy and peace!

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

What are 'you attracting???

What Are You Attracting?

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32

I recently heard about a young man who has implanted a small magnet into his finger.  He states that this implant gives him the ability to feel electrical currents that are undetectable to the naked eye but ever present. He is very brilliant and attributes his ability to obtain superior knowledge to the energy which is produced from this implanted magnet.

Of course, my mind immediately began to compare his implant with the “implant” that we who are believers in Christ have.  The more I heard about the details and effects of those magnetic implants that many people are getting – the more I began to relate them to OUR Spiritual “implant”.

Since you, as a believer, have the Holy Spirit living and abiding – “implanted” within you – what are you permitting His power that dwells within you to attract?  Think about it for a minute.  Unlike the magnet’s power which is uncontrollable – we are in complete control of our implant’s ability to effectively function.

Are you permitting the power of the Holy Ghost to attract to you those who could really benefit from your experiences and your love for Him?  Are you attracting those who can assist you and increase you in some fashion; instead of decreasing or attempting to diminish who you are?  Also, have you attracted the attention of the enemy?  Does he regret when you arrive on a scene and stand in wonder of what you are permitting the power of the Holy Ghost in you to do against his kingdom?

The question is not if, but what.  We are all attracting something.  However, we must make certain that we are allowing our “ magnetic energies”  to be governed and directed by the Word of God.

Colossians 3:16a tells us to let the word of God dwell richly within us.  When we apply this notion we will be certain that we are attracting only what will be beneficial to the kingdom of God….as well as to bring destruction to every diabolical plot, plan and scheme.

Some of the synonyms for the word attract are: appeal, fascinate, draw, invite, to catch the attention of, exert a pull on and to be the magnet for.

So again I ask the question, “What are you attracting”?  Consider those in your inner circle, those with whom you fellowship, your business and personal relationships.  What are you attracting?  The power of the Holy Ghost that dwells within us have made available to us an inexhaustible

magnetic current.  This current has given to us the ability to have the identical effectiveness that Christ had! (With an even greater magnitude!) I challenge you to permit your magnetism to be directed solely by the power of the Holy Ghost.

It’s time that we make our realizations more personal.  I need to remember that in this season God needs to use ME as never before.  Therefore, I must begin to focus more on what I am attracting to make certain that what I am attracting is permitting me to be a total asset to the Kingdom of God.

I’m reminded of the lyrics of an old hymn entitled, “Lift Him Up”.  If we lift up Jesus, then the magnetic power of the Holy Ghost that’s within us, will be used to draw people unto the Father!

Lift Him Up

(Johnson Oatman, Jr., 1903)

  1. How to reach the masses, men of every birth, For an answer, Jesus gave the key:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, Will draw all men unto Me.”
    • Refrain:  Lift Him up, lift Him up;
Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
Will draw all men unto Me.”
  2. Oh! the world is hungry for the Living Bread, Lift the Savior up for them to see;
Trust Him, and do not doubt the words that He said, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.”
  3. Don’t exalt the preacher, don’t exalt the pew, Preach the Gospel simple, full, and free;
Prove Him and you will find that promise is true, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.”
  4. Lift Him up by living as a Christian ought, Let the world in you the Savior see;
Then men will gladly follow Him Who once taught, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.”

I wonder “WHO” will help me lift Jesus??????  (You know that you remember this part!!!)

I'm Still Holding The Reins.......

I’m Still Holding The Reins

Therefore, I’m Yielded ….. But Not Broken

“Not of works”....  Ephesians 2:9

The Lord wants to be in total control of our lives.  However, for the most part, far too many of His faithful followers haven’t received the boldness which is required for them to operate from a platform of being “broken”.  They are faithful in the “doing” while lacking in the “being”.  In other words we are basically still living our lives from the position of observing the law (the covenant of works); instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to accomplish His work though us.

We have yielded our thoughts, actions and words to the LEADING of the Holy Spirit which is a great achievement… for a new convert.   However, as we mature we in the Lord – brokenness is required.

When I “yield” in a given situation; I remain in control and decide the outcome of that situation.   When I am yielded, I will faithfully and in all sincerity: pay my tithes, “assemble myself with other believers”, study and read my Bible, etc.  However, because I am only yielded – I am still basing my relationship with the Lord on all of these things that I am “doing”.

When I become that broken vessel …. I have matured to the place where I am no longer in control at all.  Therefore my mind has been renewed to the extent that I will move in instant obedience to the voice of the Lord.  A broken vessel truly “Takes no thought for tomorrow” when they receive a command from the Lord. A broken vessel doesn’t worry, fret or become overly concerned about the outcome of situations or circumstances.  A broken vessel has learned the art of resting in the assurance of the unconditional love of the Lord – regardless.

A yielded vessel will know that they’ve heard the voice of the Lord; but may delay in obeying…

A broken vessel will know that they’ve heard the voice of the Lord and w/o giving it a second      thought - instantly obey.

A yielded vessel will still “stake claims” on their material possessions….

A broken vessel will say, “Lord EVERYTHING that I have is yours” - …. And they will freely release ANYTHING that they possess when the initial instruction comes from the Lord.

A yielded vessel is still in the process of being molded, reshaped and refashioned into one who has been freed from the influences of the enemy– even though they have been saved for quite some time.   A yielded vessel is still developing into a vessel that has been stripped of every traditional ideology, concept and precept.  Then once stripped, this vessel can now be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit and refashioned to be used totally by Him for His glory.

To be effective in these last days; we can no longer be just yielded vessels.  It’s a new day! The Lord doesn’t desire for us to only be yielded.   We must become broken vessels by Him for Him.

I challenge you to sincerely seek the face of God, asking Him to reveal the areas in your mind where ungodly or immature strongholds still exist…. The areas where you are only yielded – and not broken.

We must be determined to become broken vessels because:

Broken vessels are vessels of virtue;

Broken vessels are vessels of valor and above all;

Broken vessels are vessels of Victory!

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  Isaiah 43:19

What's That Smell?

What’s That Smell?

“Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.”   James 3:12

Whenever someone enters a room where there is a concentration of a certain type of smoke – it will be very evident to everyone else that they have spent some time there.  For example, you may enter a place where there is cigarette smoke.  Even though you may not have smoked – just because you were in that environment, the smell of the cigarette will infiltrate your clothing.  Or, if you are in a room where there is food cooking or incense burning – the effect will be the same.

Wherever there is a fire burning, and that fire comes in contact with another substance, there will be a release from the object which is being burned.  This released vapor – smoke – is the evidence that something was or is burning.  The more intense the fire, the greater the lingering smell of the smoke.

That brings us to our questions for today, “What do you smell like”?   “What is really burning on the inside of you”?  Is the time that you spend in the presence of the Lord potent enough to have a lingering, lasting, and even a transforming effect?  Whatever is on the inside – will when it is ignited, begin to burn and emit a scent.

Whatever is burning on the inside of you, will become evident when your flame is ignited!  For example, what happens when you are waiting in a long line at the market, bank or the mall (For those who don’t use cyberspace for everything)? – or when another driver is driving too slowly in front of you – and you are late?!  How about when you are given too much change by a salesclerk….  or the waitress gets your order incorrect – again?!  What type of fragrance does your smoke produce during these times?

Let’s be more determined, by making a conscience decision; that we will be certain; to keep the fire of the Holy Ghost burning within us. This is only achieved by spending more time in His presence.    It is only when we have allowed His fire to burn up everything in us that is not like Him; that His presence will have the full reign to burn within us.  Then the smell of our “smoke” will have the fragrance of the fruit (not fruits) of the Spirit – and the lingering scent emitted from us will infiltrate the atmosphere and be displayed daily as we operate in the gifts of the Spirit.

Where is God?

Where is God?

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God……….”     Psalm 14:1

When we consider the word “heart” we can observe that it is composed of several smaller words.  To name a few we have: he, ear, art, and hear.

1.     So that reminds me that there is an “ART” to way that God composed my heart.

2.      “HE” must always govern my “EAR” so that I will “HEAR” exactly what I should permit to enter my “HEART”.

So now … Where is God?  What place or position have I given to Him with regards to my heart?  What is flowing from my heart?  Do my actions imitate those which openly declare that there is no God?  Have I purposed in my heart to permit it to be governed by what I’ve heard from Him?

Well,…. as I proceed throughout my day; my response to whatever I may encounter; will reflect the position of authority and obedience that God reserves within my heart.  I must daily ask myself, “Are my: attitude, disposition, reasonings, decisions, temperament, etc. controlled by a heart that may indicate to others “There is no God”?”

I must have an ear to hear the voice of the Lord so that I will have the ability to guard my heart.  Far too often we have permitted our own opinions or the opinions of those who we thought were leading us correctly, to clog our spiritual ears.  Therefore we have permitted our hearts to be governed by our own thoughts – and by what WE reasoned to be correct.  We’ve made foolish decisions; and usually repeated the some mistakes over and over.

To advance to the position where I can operate from the plateau which is governed by the wisdom of God; I must hear and recognize His voice.  To hear His voice I must open the ears of my heart.  To recognize His voice I must know (understand) His Word and spend time in His presence.

Again I ask the question, “Where is God”?  Prayerfully, at the end of each day; someone’s path that you’ve crossed will be able to say that they saw and/or sensed the presence of God flowing from within you.

Why?...... Because you had an EAR to HEAR what HE was instructing you to do….And your actions have been motivated from a HEART which isn’t perfect yet ….. But …which is reflecting that ART of the perfected love of the Lord.

Turbulence Onboard?? ... Adjust your Altitude!

“Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.”  Romans 5:3-5 AMP

Simply because God has called us to walk in and to live by a lifestyle that is governed by His statues, promises and provision; our walk should be quite different from the walk of most of the people which we encounter on a daily basis.   Our walk should be different because we have learned the art of how to handle those unexpected, yet expected bumps in the road.  Our walk should be different because we have learned that every situation in our lives has been preordained by our Master Pilot – who is always on board.  Therefore, when any type of turbulence arises – we only need to adjust our altitude to the degree that will bring us back to stabilization.

There are various types of turbulence which may occur at any given time.  Certain types are only typical to specific elements and environments.  Therefore because we are all different, we will all experience various elements which have been individualized just for us.  The degree of turbulence is dependent upon various factors.  However, it doesn’t matter… whatever the level or type of turbulence that may appear –again; I reiterate:  we only need to adjust our altitude to the degree that will bring us back to stabilization.

Sometimes we can experience turbulence because we are “flying to low”.  In other words we have become too comfortable in our spiritual walk.  We are not advancing… we are simply standing in the same place, in the realm of the spirit.  Therefore God has to “upset our apple cart”.  He has to permit some type of contrary wind to blow to force us to get out of our comfort zone. .. and to progress or advance in our ministry, calling or giftings.

Then there may be times when we experience turbulence because we are flying in the wrong direction.  We have become like Jonah and decided that WE know what’s best… and that God really doesn’t have a clue in this day and age what’s of value!  So He (God) has to permit a little turbulence to get us back on course.  Or we may be flying in the wrong direction because we are not spiritually alert and have not noticed that the winds have shifted in the realm of the spirit.  Our radars have become out of sync and are not detecting the diabolical plots, plans and schemes correctly…. Therefore we are flying in the wrong direction AND can’t even detect it!

Then, there may be times when we are moving at the correct speed.  The conditions are “A- one”, and a turbulent wind comes for no apparent reason.  During these times our Master Pilot is simply testing us.  Not to see what we will do – for He is omniscient.. and  already knows all things.  His testing is permitting us and our adversary to see the advancements that we have made.  God is giving satan permission to try us as He gave him the permission to try Job.  (Although Job still had a lot of issues!) Yes, sometimes God is permitting us to be placed on an open display for others to see His handiwork in us!

So, whenever the turbulent winds occur always adjust your altitude.  Remember that the first rule of thumb is to remain calm.  Stay so connected to the Lord that nothing will totally “catch” you off guard.   Next, know that the endurance of turbulent winds is only temporary.   Refuse to worry.  Stand firmly on the Word of God who is always our very PRESENT help in the time of every storm.  Lastly, learn from every storm and turbulent condition how to progress through the next turbulent occurrence (because it will arise!)

Remember....It's A Process

Remember …..It’s A Process!

“Despise not the day of small beginnings……”  Zechariah 4:10

One vital piece of information that we must remember is that mighty oak trees are birthed from tiny acorns; and an apple orchard was produced from one apple seed.   In other words, remember…it’s a process!

The embryotic stages of any living creature must be carefully guarded and protected.  This will assure the fact that its ability to reproduce once it reaches the stage of maturity, has been protected and that it will then successfully reproduce.  Each stage of development is vital.

Sometimes we tend to forget that ministry also has its stages of development.  We also forget that our spiritual walk has stages of development.  So don’t permit the spirit of abortion to have victory in your life or ministry. Remember: Every one of us is unique – therefore our journey will not be a carbon copy of anyone else’s.    We must learn the art of being confident in whom we are in the Lord; using only His plumb line as our guide.  Far too often we feel as though because our ministry or our spiritual walk is progressing too slowly or not even showing any outward signs of progress – that we should just give up.  However, growth initiates from the inside out……. And… It’s a process.

When I was a school teacher, in our science class the children would plant seeds.  Sometimes they would want to throw the containers away when they didn’t see anything happening.  However, as they continued to care for the seeds, they would eventually see a tiny sprout coming out of the soil…. And the excitement would begin!  They would then be able to see the evidence of the work that was already taking place under the surface.  We as adults, many times seem to forget those simplistic lessons that we’ve learned as children.  We tend to forget that the visible manifestation of anything is secondary…. And that everything in life that is accomplished is manifested gradually …. EVERYTHING involves stages….. Life is a process.

Life is also a waiting game.  However, when we have ENDURED as a good soldier (2 Timothy 2:3) – we will reap the harvest.  God has promised that we will reap in DUE season - however, only if we don’t permit that spirit of abortion to be victorious (Galatians 6:9).   God CAN’T lie (Numbers 23:19).  Therefore learn to wait on the Lord (Psalm 27:14; Isaiah 40:31).

Remember… again I reiterate …. “It’s a Process”!  You must go THROUGH each stage of your process….because tomorrow’s success will stand tall on today’s perseverance!

“And let us not be weary in well doing, for in DUE SEASON we will reap, IF we faint not”. Galatians 6:9

Lord, YOU are my strength!

Lord, YOU are my strength!

“JEHOVAH UZZI”

(The Lord my strength - Psalms 28:7)

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. “  Psalm 73:26                                                  New Living Translation (©2007)

Read Psalm 28 & Psalm 73

As we have daily encountered the circumstances of life, we have realized that we have only maintained the ability to yet be triumphant because of an inner strength that has been and always will be prevalent.   This strength is not our strength, but the strength of the Lord.

The word strength in the above text for strength translates as “rock”. Therefore, Lord, may I remember that you are my perpetual “ROCK”.  When all else fails—you, Lord will remain constant.  Even if there comes a time when my health, wealth, and spirit become overwhelmed—you are still my strength.  Daily may I never attempt to stand in my own strength.  Daily may I acknowledge you, Jehovah Uzzi,  in all of my ways.  Daily may I remember that I CAN do all things through your strength which is that rock, that pillar and that fortress who will remain faithful, forever in my life.

So Lord, when everything: every foundational principle, every prop, every  support system, every ideology, every concept, every belief system –EVERYTING… that has been erected in my life—is shaken….may I never, never, never forget that YOU are my strength…..my rock.

May I fully understand and cling to the essence of an old favorite hymn which states:

“On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand”.

Several years ago, Dottie Rambo wrote a song that has influenced many other song artists to re-record it entitled, “I GO TO THE ROCK”.   Why not permit the lyrics of this song to minister the healing, peace, and the stability that only a rock can confirm……and LEARN to lean and totally depend on your Jehovah Uzzi.

I Go To The Rock

Where do I go when there's nobody else to turn to?  Who do I talk to when nobody wants to listen?
Who do I lean on when there's no foundation stable?

I go to the rock - I know He's able - I go to the rock.

The Lord is the rock I go to the rock for my salvation; I go to the stone that the builders rejected,
I run to the mountain and the mountain, He stands by me.

When the Earth all around me is sinking sand. On Christ, the solid rock I stand,
When I need a shelter, when I need a friend….. I go to the rock.

Where do I go, where do I go; When the storms of life are threatening?
Who do I turn to when those winds of sorrows blow?  And is there a refuge in the time of tribulation?

I go to the rock - I know He's able - I go to the rock!

Is Fear Hindering Your Proress??

Is Fear Hindering Your Progress?

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.  II Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Why did you still have an array of unaccomplished projects waiting to be completed?  Why are you still not boldly advocating or displaying the spiritual gifts which you possess?  Have you permitted the reminders of your past failures to paralyze you – and prevent you from “getting up” and trying again?  If you can affirmatively agree with these questions, the spirit of fear could very well be your deterrent.

It’s time for us to aggressive attack this spirit and forbid its return.  If we don’t uproot this spirit of fear – it will continue to hinder our progress - permitting us to continuously, vigorously run a spiritual treadmill …. Building strong muscles….but going nowhere!

I’m once again printing the prayer concerning fear.  Read it daily for a few days to gain the maximum results.

FEAR BE GONE!  (© 2003)

F

ather God in the name of Jesus, I denounce the spirit of fear in my life.  As of this day, I forbid the spirit of fear to dominate, reign or sit passively in any area of my life.

Holy Spirit, I surrender right now to you my entire being.  I ask that you reveal to me now every area of my life where ungodly fear is present.  Every area in my conscience or sub-conscience arena where fear may have a stronghold.  Any area from my past where fear has been the comfort zone.  Reveal every open door that satan has used to bring fear into my life.

Lord God, your word declares that your perfect love will cast out, drive away, eradicate and will replace fear.  So Father, I come to you now and ask that you reveal to me your perfect love in every area of my being.  Your love that will not fail.  Your love that is unconditional.  Your love that is incomprehensive to my natural man, - but is conceivable in the spirit realm.

Father, as I have asked the Holy Spirit to reveal the entrances where fear has entered, I ask you for the wisdom needed to close every open door. I decree those doors closed, shut, sealed - never to be opened again.

I will now begin the process to renew my mind – daily.  I will develop a new appetite which desires your decreed will for my life – freed from every diabolical hindrance.

I thank you Father God for my new found freedom in you now that the weight of fear is gone. Hallelujah!

In Jesus’ Name.  Amen

The Undercurrents Have Shifted…. Have You?

All these are but the beginning of the birth pains”. Matthew 24:8

Read Matthew 24

One of the benchmarks that many theologians have used for decades as the verification of God’s “plum line” is nature.    We can no doubt attest to the fact that we are experiencing extreme atmospheric conditions.   While people may vary in their knowledge and their understanding of the Bible; no one can deny the alterations in the usual flow of nature which are now occurring.

One of the major reasons why we were experiencing twenty degree temperature differences from one day to the next is that the undercurrents have shifted.   An undercurrent is a force just beneath the surface, which is flowing in a different direction from the surface current.  While undercurrents occur both in the air and in the water; today we will focus on the effects of those associated with the water.  Last summer has yielded to an above normal increase in the rate of water fatalities – especially those associated with shark attacks.   Many people are explaining that the conditions of the water are very deceiving last summer.    There were more rip-tides. The currents which are not visible to the naked eye; and which can’t be easily detected have changed.  People who usually swim in various creeks, lakes and oceans are drowning or being attacked – because the undercurrents have shifted.

So has the shifting occurred in the realm of the Spirit.  Nature is only revealing what has already occurred in the Spirit world.  In the realm of the Spirit, there has always been a subordinate current; flowing contrary to the major current.    However now, the undercurrent has shifted.  What was once detectable for the shore is no longer visible.

So it is in the realm of the Spirit.  The spirit of deception is running rapid!  Many of the enemy’s devices which in times past was clearly detectable – has become camouflaged.  Therefore, if we are going to be effective, we must venture from the “shore” and get into the water.   The shifting has occurred and its effects are evident in every arena; from the “White House to the Poor House”.

While everything around you has shifted …The question now is… have you?  What measures have you taken to assure yourself that you will not be swept away and even drown in the swift moving undertow?  Have you increased your times of praying, studying, serving and giving?  Have you amended your “busy” schedule to include a God ordained – rather than God permitted agenda?

We, the body of Christ must be that support system for the world which will lead them to the saving and sustaining power of the Lord.  However, we must leave the “shore”…our comfort zones: and venture into the water….where the fish are… and the swift flowing undercurrents are prevailing.  We must be equipped with endtime strategies and the ability to implement them.

The undercurrents have shifted –therefore we must modify and fortify the anchors of our minds; to assure our success and to make certain that we will not become the next victim … swept away … and caught off guard by an oncoming, rapidly approaching and swift moving current!

“But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place……”.  Luke 21:36 (ESV)

Profanity in the Pulpit

Profanity in the Pulpit

I was asked the question by a few of my FBF (Facebook friends) if it was okay to use profanity in the pulpit.  They said many Pastors are seemingly going that route now; and it appears to be acceptable.

Well… I always attempt to use the Bible to substantiate any response that I may offer.  So the verse that immediately came to mind was Ephesians 4:29.  In this verse the word corrupt was translated from the Greek word “σαπρός” (sapros).  Profanity could definitely come in alignment with the definition of this word.

The Amplified Version states this verse as thus: Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.  Ephesians 4:29

.

I also thought about the amount of prestige or reverence…. (Or should I say the lack of reverence) that we now place upon the presence of the Most High God!  Many standards that we now permit in our churches would not be tolerated by our judicial system, presidential cabinet nor permitted by the Judges in their courtrooms!    Therefore, should we permit the incorporation and the infiltration of such words and phrases to be accepted when we are standing as representatives of the Almighty God?  Should we release with ease into the atmosphere the negative effects and word curses which accompany some profane words?  Have we forgotten that when we stand before the people, we do so as the very orator for such a deity as Our God?

We must never forget that we are in this world – but we as representatives of God do not have to partake of the measures expressed by the world in an attempt to convey God’s message.  We are in this world – but we must not conform to this world (Romans 12: 1&2).  We must always uphold the level of integrity and self-control that will permit us to never stray from “our ancient land mark”.  (Proverbs 22:28 “Don’t stealthily move back the boundary lines staked out long ago by your ancestors.” - The Message Bible)

God has said:

“Experiences are meant to produce maturity.  Your Relationship with Me produces Sensitivity.  Discipline produces Obedience.

My leaders must become more equipped and establish an ear to hear my voice if they are going to win, to triumph and to spoil the strategic plans of the enemy in these last days.  Lowering one’s standards to conform to what is pleasing to the flesh will never be as effective as standing on and trusting in the pure authority of My Word.  When My leaders spend time….the proper time in My presence – they will have a more influential presence of My Spirit.  Then they will be able to rely on My Spirit within them…. To flow from them…. to attract the people instead of using words that only excite the flesh.”

God has spoken; and it is so…. nothing else needs to be said!

Worshipping, Warriors, Win!

Worshipping, Warriors Win!

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.

Psalm 29:2

On this Veteran’s Day, we must not forget to honor and salute those Spiritual Soldiers who have fought their good fight…..and are no longer physically with us.  Many of them have paved the way for us in the realm of the spirit and lead by example, showing us various strategies and “war tactics” which have availed us with the ability to successfully outwit our enemy.  For them, we are eternally grateful!

So, as a warrior today, I must always remember that whatever I need to sustain me as I remain engaged in this war, is already on the inside of me. Sometimes we think that we need to get “more” before we can excel or move forward.  For the most part, most people simply need to learn how to worship.  More battles in this life would victoriously be won…..if we only understood the relevance of worship.

We praise God because of what He has done – as a sign of gratitude.  However we worship Him because of WHO He is.  As a warrior, worship is essential.  It’s in the atmosphere of worship that we’re able to receive the strategies that will permit me to win EVERY battle.  Although you personally may not realize it, but you are a warrior!  Within us we all have an innate ability to oppose every wrong; to fight.  However, we must aim those “energies” in the correct direction.

Become more engaged in worshipping the Lord.  Worshipping develops intimacy.  Therefore, when we worship the Lord – there is an open communication between us, which permits us to converse with Him - Spirit to spirit ….at any time.  Worship transcends just a momentary set time of communion with the Lord. When we learn to worship the Lord; our flesh (attitudes, desires, opinions, etc.) will not have the free reign that it has.

The results from this type of worship will permit us to receive the stamina and the wisdom that is necessary to outwit the enemy…..every time!

A warrior knows no defeat.  A warrior can realize that there are really no failures in life – only opportunities to learn.  Question?????? – “If I’ve attempted to accomplish a task and didn’t receive the expected results – but have LEARN from the experience…did I fail?  Absolutely not!

A warrior has a mindset that doesn’t conform, but will transform whatever they encounter.

So you need to realize that …you ARE a winner. …you ARE a warrior….. but above all.. you are called to be a worshipper!

....And remember the Worshipping, Warriors….always Win!

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”  John 4:34 ESV

The Day of Illumination

The Day of Illumination

 (Extracted from a previous meditation)

Lord may I permit your light to shine through me—REGARDLESS.

JEHOVAH ORI”

(The Lord my light - Psalms 27:1)

Read Psalm 27 & St. John 1

To summarize the concept of “Illumination”, we could state that illumination is when God, through the working Holy Spirit conveys to us an understanding of a revealed Bible truth.

So today, Lord I ask that you illuminate every area of my mind that appears to be dark - void of understanding.   Your Son has come to us as our Light; as our path to understanding your desires for us.  Today may I seek Holy Spirit as never  before for a fuller revelation of who you truly are…. For without revelation I will have no illumination.

I ask you Lord God, my JEHOVAH ORI; that as a result of my daily meditational with you; that I will continually seek your face for the true illumination.  May I never fall prey to the ideologies, concepts, and endtime thought patterns that have been released from the kingdom of darkness.  If I must stand seemly alone; let me never compromise or keep hidden the illuminated revelations that you have given to me.  My effectiveness as an endtime warrior will only be maintained if I seek you daily for an amended illumination of my previously learned strategies.

May I realize that just because it’s a new season, that fact alone won’t assure me of receiving your “multidimensional” illuminations.  Lord, enlarge my territory…. - the territory of my mind, which will produce new imaginations, a new in-depth vision and a new thirst.

Lord may I permit your LIGHT to shine through me, that I may then in return, share with others an increased measure of wisdom, revelation knowledge and endtime strategies. May my newly received illuminated status, permit me to no longer be biased towards ANY concept that would encourage me to limit my ability to extend your unconditional love to everyone.

As a result of your illumination may I be reassured that you have created, anointed and appointed me….. for such a time as this.  I will not waste time – but will now aggressively pursue your intended plans and purposes for my life.  Thank you, Jehovah Ori, for all that will be revealed to me as I embrace the benefits of my new illumination!

Your Samuel Is On The Way!

Your Samuel Is On The Way!

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” Galatians 6:9

The Lord has instructed me to remind you that all of your praying and all of your fasting has not been in vain.  When we consider the example which was given to us by Hannah; we can glean an insight into the diligence which is required to remain faithful…… until your “Samuel” has been manifested.

The Lord has said that we must read once again the story of Hannah (I Samuel 1.)  We must remember that Hannah’s womb was closed by the Lord.   There was nothing wrong with the seed that was sown.   The seed had been sown into good ground.  The potential of the ground to produce wasn’t the problem.  God had intervened and would not permit the ground to receive and produce the seed.

God today is saying that for many of you, you have sown good seed, into good ground; however His appointed time for your manifestation had not arrived.  He has permitted you to be ridiculed, criticized, and mocked….. Even by those in the house of the Lord.  (Remember Hannah’s actions and intents were even mistaken by the man of God!)  Yet, you, like Hannah have continued to remain faithful and to endure through every test and trial.

We must remember that as we have been awaiting the arrival of our Samuel – our level of faith has been greatly increased and our stamina intensified.  Birthed within us; as we waited, has been a powerful level of humility and strength.  This dimension from which we now operate permits us to be as synonymous to a “bull walking through a china store”… however not breaking a single dish!  The wait has so fortified our faith and our relationship with the Lord – to the extent that we have become that profitable servant; totally sold out for the Him.

No one had to remind Hannah of the vow that she had made to the Lord.  If you have not arrived at the place in your walk with the Lord that you can honor your vows made to Him without the assistance of anyone – then you are not ready for the birth of your Samuel!

However, if you have prayed like Hannah did; remained faithful like Hannah did; endured the times of disappointment, discouragement and seemingly being defeated year in and year out – like Hannah did…..then you will receive you Samuel…..just as Hannah did!

Be encouraged….. God’s appointed time IS at hand!  You will receive your Samuel – just as Hannah did – simply because God is not slack concerning His promises!  Every one of His promises are YEA & AMEN….. WHATEVER He has promised will; without a shadow of a doubt… come to past…….  However in HIS divine timing!

Not is not the time to throw in the towel!  Nor the time to throw up your hands in a lost of hope.    Remain steadfast…. Your Samuel IS on the way!!!!

“ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”  Habakkuk 2:3

Marinating...But in What???

Marinating…but in What?

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 (ESV)

Preparation is always a vital instrument.  Our ability to successfully outwit the adversary is dependent upon our “spiritual marinating sauce”.  It is imperative that we sensor the type of “marinating mixture” that our spirit man is being exposed to on a regular basis.  Today, as never before, it is essential that we are ever cautious and remain on our guard concerning the types of material that we are constantly permitting to enter through our ear and eye gates.  Far too often we are permitting our spirits to be marinated with; and to become saturated with the concepts of this world – without our knowledge. However, if we maintain the proper relationship with the Lord, He will always alert us to the ploys of the enemy.

Don’t permit your spirit to become desensitized to what God has established as our foundational principles and guidelines.  With the advancements in technology, we have the ability to have God inspired material at our disposal as often as we desire. Therefore, it is our responsibility to “choose” what we will permit our spirits to bask, soak…… marinate in.

When we refer to marinating; we can envision the preparation of various meats prior to cooking them.  The purpose of marinating is to permit a substance to penetrate and infiltrate the meat.  The longer the marinating process; the better the end result will be.

Marinating is simply resting in the presence of the Lord.  When one is marinating; they aren’t asking God for anything – just resting in His presence and permitting Him to penetrate and infiltrate our spirit man.

We are all marinating in something – but to what advantage will be the benefit?  Remember what happened to Sampson when he became too comfortable and began to permit his spirit to marinate in the enemy’s camp.  We must always remain alert, and have an open ear to hear the warnings of the Lord; if we are going to maintain our stamina in this race.  Our every encounter with the enemy has been strategically planned by him. However when we have permitted our spirits to baste in the presence of the Lord; we can be assured that He will give us the necessary wisdom, power and authority to successfully outwit and discern every diabolical maneuver.  If we are going to stay at least a step or two ahead of our adversary – we must be on our alert at all times.  Everything that is a “good” thing may not be a “God” thing!

In other words, we of our own accord can’t possibly be aware of every current device that the enemy will use in an attempt to bring defeat and or demise to our plan of action.  Nevertheless, when we begin to marinate in the presence of the Lord, we will have the ability to maintain a conscious awareness of Him (God) at all times.  Then we will hear His warnings as He alerts us to every potentially adverse situation.

Yes… preparation is vital.  Remember, marinating is a preparatory process.  It is a current procedure, whose results will assure us of our future success. The problem is not “if” we are marinating…. But “what” we are using as our marinating agent.

“I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.” Psalm 119:15 ESV

Self-Analyses

Self-Analyses

or Check Yo Self (for the young adult readers….lol)

If someone were to ask you to list five reasons why God should permit you to enter into Heaven; what would be your response?  How long would it take you to compose this list?  Where would you begin?  Would you immediately begin to consider all of the time and effort that you dedicate towards the building of the Kingdom of God? Or would you first consider the sacrificial financial donations of your tithes and offerings?  Or maybe you would begin your list considering your God disciplined life style. Just how would you begin such a list?  Think about it for a few minutes… how do you view yourself in this matter?

Well….. since we aren’t governed by the rules of Burger King…. You can’t “have it your way”!  It doesn’t matter how you begin your list; it should be a list which is composed of only one item!  There is only one reason that would validate your entrance into Heaven.  It doesn’t matter what you may accomplish; nor your obedience to God’s written word; nor how many souls you may have been instrumental in leading to Christ.  Nothing, nothing that we could ever say, do, or think; would ever qualify us and afford us a worthy audience into the domain of the Lord!

The Bible says it in this fashion:

Isaiah 64:6   For we have all become like one who is unclean [ceremonially, like a leper], and all our righteousness (our best deeds of rightness and justice) is like filthy rags or a polluted garment; we all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away [far from God’s favor, hurrying us toward destruction]. AMP

Ephesians 2:8,9 “You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.” CEV

Now, God does require that we do Kingdom work.  However, our works are not done in an attempt to gain entrance into the Kingdom.

So, how SHOULD you begin….. and end your list?  With only one item listed.   There is only one reason why God will permit us to enter into Heaven.  Nothing, nothing, nothing outside of that one reason will be “good enough” and satisfy God’s requirements for entrance into heaven. The one reason; the only item on your list MUST be because you have accepted his son, Jesus, as your ultimate redeemer and justifier…… and above all… your Saviour!  Nothing else is relevant.

Let’s always remember that God values the acceptance of His precious Son – Jesus.  Christ is our only bridge back to the Father; who is in heaven.  Enlighten others as you encounter them…. Especially those from others religions.  Without the acknowledgement of Christ Jesus as our Savior – we will never enter into heaven!

Special Note: Now we must also remember that God requires that we live a life which is holy and dedicated unto Him.  However, this will not validate our entrance into heaven. We must also remember that our ultimate goal after we are saved is to draw others to Christ.  So, it doesn’t matter what ministry we are engaged in; we are to be soul winners!

Who Opened That Door?

Who Opened That Door?

“Be not deceived………….”Galatians 6:7

There is a saying, “All that glitters is not gold.” In other words, everyone and everything that appears to be authentic at a glance; is not always what it or they seem to be. This is particularly true in the realm of the spirit.  Someone or something may seem to emit a certain “weightiness”; however a closer examination will reveal the truth.  Don’t be deceived by what your physical eyes may behold!

The spirit of Deception is running more rampantly, and rapidly than in previous times.  We must therefore enhance our ability to quickly discern the authentic actions of the Lord; apart from the imposturous, deceptions of our adversary.

We must also remember that every open door was not opened by the Lord.  Every new opportunity is not always the answer to your prayer! In our attempt to advance, we must not become anxious. Trust the Word of God and wait for Him.  God will never, ever permit or present to us an open door or an opportunity - which in any fashion cannot be aligned with His recorded promises.  The Lord will never open a door whose entrance will lead us to compromise nor negate our relationship with Him….. nor will He ever present us with an opportunity where we must compromise our allegiance to Him.

In I John 4:1 we are reminded that we must not merely accept what appears to be ordained of God. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Accompanying advancement and elevation are the introduction of an array of open doors.  Therefore, prior to entering into any open door, be certain of its validity.  Prior to entering into any open door, be certain that you maintain your “alertness” in the realm of the spirit.  Be anxious for nothing!  God’s open doors are accompanied by His peace and His assurance.  When uncertain about embarking or venturing into a new area; wait and seek the face of God.

Always remember that far too often, the adversary desires to make YOU sabotage your own destiny by enticing you to move in the incorrect timing.

So, again… prior to entering into any open door, proceed with caution, stay alert and above all, you must know who has opened the door!

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”  Psalm 27:14

Virtures of Victory

Virtues of Victory

“…….. and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

                                                                                                            I John 5:4

What is victory?  How is it determined?

V – Vision - To be victorious I must have a vision; a mental image of my future state.

Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18

I -   Intensify – To intensify is to exhibit increase by: enhancing, strengthening and deepening.

Therefore to be victorious I must not cease to eagerly and powerfully intensify every

                   area of my life.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make

progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;  Jude 20

                  (AMP)

C -    Concentrate – To ponder; to muse; to deliberate.  Concentration requires an ability to

focus.  Victory is never accomplished by one who has loss their ability to maintain

                 their focus.

And SET your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on

the things that are on the earth.”   Colossians 3:2

T -    Trust – Confidence or conviction.  To gain total victory, I must solidify my trust channels

                from the inside out.

“Don’t put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life.”

                   Psalm 146:3 (MSG).  Also  Proverbs 20:7; 3:5

O -   Opposition – Except the fact that there will always be oppositions; some will edify, some

will challenge and all which emanate from the kingdom of darkness are sent to destroy.  However.. every opposition will produce victory… if permitted to run its course!

....In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the

                  world.” John 16:33

R –   Rules - No task in life is ever accomplished w/o abiding by the established guidelines.

To be victorious; I must know the rules….and obey them.

                   Romans 12:1-5 (ESV); Proverbs 4:7; Titus 3:1

Y -   Yoked - To be victorious I must remain free of any restrictive burden; and only become

yoked to those things that will permit the furtherance of God’s plan and purposes for my

           life.

“….Let us lay aside every weight..” Hebrews 12:1

We can also observe that the letter “Y” is the last letter in the word victory.  The shape of this letter reminds us of a fork in the road.  At the end of every victory – we stand at a fork in the road.  We have to make a decision.  We must decide whether to prepare for the next level and advance forward.... or to become satisfied with our present accomplishment and remain at that place.  The Lord always requires that we advance forward.   The ability to continually walk in a state of victory is achieved, when I decide to never become satisfied with my current achievements – but to always strive for an added dimension of greatness.

Paul explained it like this: “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13 & 14

So again I ask, “What are some of the virtues of VICTORY”?  The answer: The ability to expand my Vision; to aggressively Intensify every area of my life; to maintain my Consecration; to continually build and fortify my Trust channels; to expect Opposition, to obey the Rules and to be Yoked to Kingdom Principles!
