Untapped Potential

“……. eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. ”                                 I Corinthians 2:9 & 10 (Amplified Version)

Have you ever searched franticly for something only to discover that is was in the first place that you looked?   Much to your dismay and frustration - the item had been in the place where you had left it – just sitting there waiting to be discovered.  Or maybe in your search to find something, you may have even covered it up while searching for it, making it even more undiscoverable.  Then, when you finally stopped, and settled down – you found with ease all that as previously not seen?                  

Studies have revealed that while 100% of our brain is functioning; most people don’t use the  entire 100% to its fullest capacity .  So in the natural…….so in the realm of the spirit.  God has, before the foundation of the world, placed on the inside of you everything that is needed for you to excel in this world.  As he told the prophet Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb of your mother I know you, and set you apart to be a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

 Are you looking for something which God has already placed on the inside of you?  God has given to us the potential and the ability to excel in every area of life.  We have at our disposal access to the governing forces of this world!  We have at our disposal the ability to voice a command and to bring into alignment everything that is out of order!  God has given to us the advantage of being an heir and a joint heir with His Son! (Romans 8:16-18)  Have you really ever grasped the essence and significance of that statement?  That means that whatever Christ did – I have the permission to do likewise. I even get to further advance and operate with a greater magnitude than He! (John 14:12)

 However, many times, because we haven’t fully understood this perception – we go through life functioning and operating from a position of inferiority instead of superiority!  We aren’t aware of whom we are …. more less, of whose we really are.  And what’s even worst, we have no clue of the potential within us that’s lying dormant.  Your physical characteristics and achievements (nor the lack of them!) can’t alter the fact that you still have lying within you untapped potential. 

It has been often stated that the cemetery is the richest place that there is. Why? Because millions of people die and take with them unspoken wisdom, undiscovered inventions, unwritten books,… and a plethora of exposed and untapped potential!  For whatever the reason, people have passed on, and they have never made a significant withdrawal from their internal bank! 

Whenever we become aware of something – it then becomes our responsibility to make the necessary amendments.  Therefore – from this point forward, you will be held accountable for our actions. 

Remember – roots run deep.  Whenever we see a plant… it is anchored by the root system.  We can’t see the roots from the surface (normally).   Nevertheless, they are present and hidden deep within the dirt!   Therefore in comparison; whatever you can see of yourself, is only a representation of what is on the inside of you.  Without regards to what you’ve already accomplished – there is still untapped potential within you! God has made you and He is the only one who truly knows your full potential.  Ask Him to reveal to you your areas of untapped potential.  Then seek Him for the wisdom to gain access to, and to activate those areas.  Time is running out – but you still have time to get the ball rolling!

Be determined that you won’t allow the enemy to use this strategic maneuver (untapped potential) any longer to in your life.  Be bold and very courageous! (Joshua 1:9)

The best is truly yet to come… and YOU play a vital role!

Watch Your Midwives!

            “Now also we beseech you, brethren, get to know those who labor among you….”

 I Thessalonians 5:12

Warriors; as you who stand against the kingdom of darkness, you must at all times know those to whom you have given the power and the authority to assist you in the various stages of your birthing processes. The role of a midwife is an extremely vital position. This person has the ability to give life or to cause death, to enhance or to diminish, to encourage and bring hope; or to cause confusion and bring total despair, to your future.

In the book of Exodus, chapter one we are given an account of the creditability of the midwives. The Bible states that the midwives feared God! In the dimension that we have now embarked; as an endtime warrior, you must exercise extreme caution in the acceptance of one who desires to serve you in the role of a midwife. (The role of a midwife is not gender sensitive.) You must only permit those who have the ability to understand the true reverential fear of God, to be entrusted with the safeguarding of your vision. Some of you have had the OPPORTUNITY to excel to various heights and positions…. but have not done so. You haven't made these accomplishments, because your midwife has slaughtered your dreams and visions. Just at the point when you were in the proper position, at just the time when the midwife was supposed to assist you into bringing your vision, dream etc. into total manifestation - because your midwife was not assigned to you by God, you gave birth,- but your midwives were used by the enemy to intervene.  Your midwife killed your new born dreams or visions.  Your midwife was on an assignment – with diabolical intent …. and was used by the enemy to introduce the spirit of fear  - which caused you to walk in doubt and unbelief.

Therefore, some of you will now have to adjust and amend the positions of those to whom you thought you could trust. It is imperative that you always seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit before enlisting the eager assistance of those desiring to assist you in ministry.

Remember - a warrior is a warrior at all times. Why? Briefly, the strategic mindset of a warrior is always focused, and purpose driven.  A true warrior will never permit their mind to stray from their divine call and destiny!  A true warrior knows no defeat.  A true warrior has learned to triumph in EVERY situation. 

Therefore, as warriors, we must always bear in mind that the enemy is ever attempting to gain access to us. We are most vulnerable when we are embarking upon a new venture. This is why we must be ever so selective when accepting one into our confidence….as they respond to our need for a midwife!

A true spiritual midwife will have the developed the maturity to ascend in worship and to descend strategic purpose; to proactively travail in prayer and have a keen spirit of discernment; and above all, they will have learned to daily walk in the reverential fear and wisdom of Almighty God.   

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”  Matthew7:15

Patience in the Hallway

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12

There are times when God has chosen to display His attribute of “silence”.  Now, although this character quality isn’t listed or written in any of the information concerning our Father; if you know Him to any extent; you can identify this as one of His traits!

So, what have you personally learned from God’s silence?  I have discovered that when we are in the “hallway” God chooses to test our ability to find our way to the next room.   When one door is nailed shut…. And we are waiting for another to open – we are in the “hallway”.    When we have difficult decisions to make and God is silent – we’re in the “hallway”.  When you’ve fasted, you’ve prayed and you’ve sown your seed for your need…. Yet God is silent…. You’re in the “hallway”…. Despite your cries and pleas….. God is STILL not saying a word!  And, the dilemma that intensifies our agony is the fact that we have no doubt that God CAN move in an instant!  So what’s happening? Why isn’t God moving…. Or at least saying SOMETHING?

It is in these times that we must realize that God is attempting to mature us and teach us how to PATIENTLY trust His word – even when we don’t hear His voice.  He is attempting to elevate us to our next place in Him.   In other words when we find ourselves in the hallway; we should immediately realize that we’re being tested.  God has placed us in a “proving ground” to enlighten us, and to inform our enemy of our growth since our last visit to the “hallway”.  We are daily growing and advancing to new heights in the Lord.  Yet these increases are internal; can’t be seen – but can be shown.  So what other way can our adversary know that we’ve grown in the Lord, except by the fact that when he tempts us with prior weaknesses ….and we don’t yield as we previously would have?    

Therefore, as I’ve often said, “Don’t expect God to answer you when you’re being tested – because the teacher never talks during a test.”  God knows all things, so our testing isn’t to reveal to Him information that He isn’t aware of.  Our testings are for us...and the adversary. 

How do we learn to be patient in the hallway? 

1. By openly acknowledging that God loves me and IS working all things for my good. 

2. Finding a scripture to use as a focal point of strength and encouragement.  Read it regularly throughout the day.

3. Refuse to speak doubt filled, fear related words.

4. Remember that you will not progress to your next level until you’ve passed the hallway test.  (God doesn’t have a “No child left behind policy”!) Therefore you will repeat this same test; year after year … until you can walk through the hallway; without pacing and wring your hands; without telling everyone that you’ re “going through & to pray for you”!  Now is the time to give God a “crazy” praise!  No tantrums….. But maturely and patiently walking to the next door, and waiting for God to open. 

So when God is silent, stand on what you know about Him.  Don’t permit the enemy to make YOU further delay the process by focusing on your “hallway” conditions.  Remember..in the natural,  things appear quite differently than they really are.  Never permit your faith in God to waver – regardless.  If we would begin to stand on the promises of God in the difficult situations, then we would realize that when we are in the hallway, that’s the prime time to sow seeds of encouragement to others.  Although doubt and fear will definitely  attempt to discourage you –  be determined that you will rest in the comfort of your knowledge of our omniscient, omnipotent Father ….and His promises to never leave nor forsake you.

(Faith + Trust+ Hope) – (Fear, Doubt, Unbelief) = PATIENCE!

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:25 ESV

H.O.P.E

“And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.”  Psalm 39:7

I must always remember that:   God is committed; through His promises - TO me. 

He has made a covenant - WITH me.

His love has provided a covering - FOR me.

Therefore when I understand the word HOPE – I can affirm that I Am:

   Holding on – Optimistically Pressing….Expecting!

To further explain:

H – Holding on

I’m Affixing ….with the tenacity and the grip of a mad bulldog; my every desire, concern and  

request to the alignment of God’s word.

      “Therefore be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord”

                 I Corinthians 15:58

O - Optimistically

I’m remaining confident.  Refusing to permit fear, doubt and unbelief intervene.  I’m not speaking any negative words… nor permitting anyone else to clutter my space with the same.

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him….” I John 5:14

P - Pressing

I’m pursuing; pushing through and against every obstacle that is attempting to cause me to disbelieve the promises of God.

“And we pull down reasonings and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and we take all minds prisoner to the obedience of The Messiah.”  2 Corinthians 10:5

  E – Expecting

         I’m awaiting; believing; and in excited anticipation of something that I haven’t seen the      

         manifestation of – yet.

          “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair”.

                  2 Corinthians 4:8

So, it doesn’t matter how the circumstances may appear; nor the opinions of others nor the evidence which is stacked against me……

      “I am Holding on, Optimistically, Pressing…Expecting” God to bring into manifest the benefits of every seed that I’ve sown, which is ready to be harvested.  

     “I am Holding on, Optimistically, Pressing…Expecting” to see a change in the lives of my unsaved and uncommitted loved ones - in response to the prayers that have been prayed on their behalf.

“I am Holding on, Optimistically, Pressing…Expecting” God to use me in a fashion that I have not previously known. 

Lastly, “I am Holding on, Optimistically, Pressing…Expecting” God to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that I could ever ask, think, or imagine……and to do it through His power that is at work within me!

 And HOPE maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  Romans 5:5

Have You Heard It?

“………..but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”  Romans 6:13b

What do you hear?  A new sound has been dispatched from the heavens and is seeking new instruments.  This sound is seeking the instruments that have the ability to receive it and blend it properly so that it forms a new chord! 

In this season, we must listen with the ear of our spirit for the new chord.  As we hear it, we must receive it into our spirits.  Then it becomes our responsibility to share it and to instruct others in the proper disciplinary spiritual insights; which are required for them to become “new instruments”.

As this new sound is received here on earth, then blended by many and released back to the Lord - it will ascend as one voice; one perfected sound unto the Lord.  Although in the realm of the spirit- we may hear several complexed chords they will still ascend as one voice; one perfected praise unto the Lord!

This new sound, once we have received it into our spirits, will enable our souls to become transformed into the expressed mind and will of God.  Now, when this occurs, our minds will have the capability of becoming freed from previous non-profitable mindsets; our bodies will be disciplined to the extent that they will freely yield and totally  be brought under the subjection of the Holy Ghost;…..  and we will truly be presented as a living sacrifice.  In other words the true meaning of Romans 12:1 &2 will be demonstrated through our lives. 

Many prophetic gatherings - true prophetic gatherings, are receiving the manifestation and the divine presence of the Lord as never before, simply because they have heard the new sound…. Therefore, their praises unto the Lord ascend as one sound .. as one sweet smelling savor unto Him!

This new sound - prophetic in nature, has no limits and no boundaries! Yet, its nature is disciplined, its character is divine and its application is strategic.

Leaders, Warriors, the new sound has been released…..Have You Heard It?

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

Exchanging My Happiness for Joy

                                                You O Lord are the source of my joy

“……...This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”                                                        Nehemiah 8:10 (Read Psalm 43 and Nehemiah 8)

Today, Lord may I begin to comprehend that You ARE my joy.   May I realize that my mind must be renewed to the concept, that, my ability to remain joyful (full of joy) in the midst of adversity, is one of the battles that must be won.  Consequently Lord, I will totally understand that YOU and You alone are the nucleus of my joy.  Everything that is necessary for my “JOY” has its basis, its focus and its core emanating from You Lord.

Therefore today I invite You, El Simchath Gili to infiltrate my mind, thus permitting me to remain joyful throughout this day.  I will not allow any circumstance that may arise today cause me to lose my focus.   I will exchange and replace every temporal emotion in my mind.  I must realize that, that mindset has its foundation in happiness – which is based on the “happenings” at any given moment.  Simply because joy is centered in the spirit of man – as I delight myself in You – my spirit will be at peace; and I will obtain the ability to receive all of the benefits of having a joy filled life – regardless.

So I thank You now, El Simchath Gili for Your guidance, direction and the provision of Your “joy”.  The joy that You bring will empower me and offer to me the foundation to stand strong today and always. 

Since your word has informed me that joy is a part of the fruit of the spirit; I will seek to produce the same.   I will continue to daily alter or amend my appetite in the realm of the spirit.  I will provide the proper spiritual nourishment which will ensure that the fruit which my spirit produces is not lacking in the area of joy.   I will become more aware of the fact that I must exchange those things which bring happiness with those which bring joy.   As I continue to mature in you; this will become a natural process. 

Finally, may I never cease to reflect on the strength and encouragement of our patriots who walked by faith as they sang:

 “This joy that I have, the world didn’t give it and the world can’t take it away.” 

Don’t Worry.... You have the Keys

^“And I tell you, you are ^[a]Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a ^[b]huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the ^[c]infernal region) shall ^[d]not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].¹⁹ I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth ^[e]must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth ^[f]must be what is already loosed in heaven.                                           

Matthew 16:18 & 19 (AMP)

In our lives today, we are constantly encountering various situations that are not under the jurisdiction of our immediate control.  I’m certain that most of us could establish a never ending list of such.   We must remember that these situations are those which have been permitted and allowed to confront us.  Every obstacle or adverse situation that we encounter in life can be viewed from at least two perspectives. We can view these situations as being presented by the enemy in hopes of opening the door to fear, doubt and unbelief; or these same situations can be perceived as those which have been permitted by the Lord to serve as opportunities where He will gain the ability to reveal His divine guidance, direction and protection.

When we encounter adverse conditions, we must remember that God has given to us keys in the form of His word.  These keys will equip us with an immediate access to His divine intervention.    For example; we have been given the key to unlock the entrance into that area of our mind that still must be renewed concerning ungodly fear.  When we truly unlock our minds and permit them to become freed by comprehending the love of God; we will never again walk under the umbrella of ungodly fear.  This type of fear is often manifested through a spirit of pride.  Why? Because “I” feel as though “I” can/can’t handle or “I” can/can’t control what is occurring.  When I excuse God from the picture, I have diminished, decreased and eradicated the intervention of His divine authority & power.  I have unconsciously decided that my problem or situation is of a greater magnitude than my God!  I have also decided that God’s love isn’t powerful enough to bring me through my current dilemma.

Therefore, it doesn’t matter what I encounter I must make a conscious decision that I won’t worry – nor become fearful, perplexed, confused, or dismayed…simply because I have the keys!  

When I observe my spiritual key ring there is a master key labeled “FOCUS”.  I must learn to F.O.C.U.S.  

F= “First things first” (Matthew 6:33)

O= Only Believe (mark 9:23)

C= Count & Cast (James 1:2 & I Peter 5:6&7)

U= Unbelief (Mark 9:24)

S= Stand (Ephesians 6:10)

So, how do I focus in the midst of adversity?

1. By hiding the Word of God in my heart…. Prior to the onset of negative conditions.
2. Daily quoting and saying out loud the Word of God.
3. By refusing to quit!

Whatever adverse situation is presently prevalent or currently existing in your life is only an attempt by the enemy to distract you; to divert your attention; and to challenge your knowledge of the Lord.  However remember….you never have to bow to the lesser authority of worry…. Because you have the master key called focus.

Independently Independent – Yet Dependent

“He whom the Son has set free, is free indeed.” John 8:36

In America today we are celebrating a holiday entitled Independence Day.  There have been festivities all week long; which will be concluded on the 4^th with a finale marked by an elaborate musically choreographed firework display. People from various states have come here to Philadelphia for the purposes of expanding their knowledge of their country; as well as to engage in the enormous plethora of pleasurable activities.  Everyone is enjoying and sharing in the celebrations concerning their independence.

Just as equally or of greater importance is the fact that we, the Saints of the Most High God should be enjoying the fact that we are independently independent.  To be independent is to be; freed, liberated, unconventional, unconstrained and to an individualist.  We must never cease to remember that we have been released from all of the chains of the enemy; which previously held us captive. Our freedom has given to us the power and the authority to no longer be suppressed by the mindsets of this world and its chaotic influences. Our freedom has given to us the ability to excel in every task that we undertake.  Our freedom has given to us the advantage to decide for ourselves whether we will live or die.  Our freedom has afforded us with wisdom – if we avail ourselves to it.  That wisdom enables us to come to the realization that we must not – although free, be without; guidelines, perimeters and boundaries. 

Therefore, although I am free…..I am yet bound. Although freed from the chains of the enemy; I have chosen to be totally dependent upon the established Kingdom Principles which will assure my current and future success.  I am free enough to be bound! I am free enough not to bow to the conventional, constrained traditions of man – which are desensitizing the effects of God’s Word. I am free enough to appreciate the individualistic character qualities that God Himself has entrusted to me.  I am free enough to walk above every circumstance in this life. Above all; I am free enough to stand in faith until the manifestation of God promises are made visibly evident.

So as we focus on this day of independence – I am totally independent of every: methodology, ideology, concept and precept of this world; its standards and its mandates. Yet, I am totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit for the wisdom, guidance, and the perseverance to implement every strategic plan that is required for me as a powerfully effective endtime warrior.

Hallelujah!! I’m independently……independent…. YET … Dependent!!!

Embracing God’s Truth

Today, Lord I embrace your truth.

“JEHOVAH El EMETH”

(Lord God of truth - Psalm 31:5)

“Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.”                                                                                                                                    Psalm 25:5

Within today’s arena, there has been such a distortion of what is really “truth”, that without the indwelling guidance and direction of Holy Spirit we will begin to adopt the spirit of error.

Many foundational concepts that were once upheld as the truth have now been replaced with the cunning influences of the enemy.    Not only has our government and its judicial system strayed from the truth; but what is even more disheartening is that the body of Christ is beginning to lose its creditability concerning what is truth.

We must now as never before plunge into the truth of God which He has revealed to us in His Word.   We must embrace it with a “bulldog” type of tenacity.   As we embrace what is truth, it then becomes our responsibility to enlighten those with whom we come in contact with.  It is our mandate to read the truth, understand the truth, and above all apply the truth to every area of our lives. 

As the fast approaching end of time as we now know it draws nigh, the kingdom of darkness will cunningly attempt to discredit the truth even the more.  However, God is truth and we must continue to proclaim His truth; avail ourselves of His truth and uphold His authentic Kingdom principles which He has given to us – REGARDLESS!!

If we adhere to the truth and allow it to infiltrate our minds, then we will have to ability to discern error immediately.  SAINTS don’t be blindsided – this is an urgent plea.  We cannot afford to be passively ignorant concerning what is truth.  Time is of a grave essence.  We MUST, by any and every means necessary “raise the bar” and live daily a life founded on “JEHOVAH El EMETH”.  We must adhere to the foundational principles that our forefathers upheld as truth… and not be persuaded nor swayed by any revised or newly accepted notions  of what has not been previously presented as truth.

 Let you prayer be: “ Lord, enable me to have a keener endtime discernment; that will birth within me the ability to rapidly and accurately distinguish what you have established as “truth”…… live therein and enlighten others…… while encouraging them to practice the same as well.”  In the Name of Jesus.  Amen.

Encourage, Enlighten, Empowered

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus….” Philippians 2:5a

During my prayer time one morning, I heard these three words: encourage, enlighten and empowered.   The Lord has said that in this season; if we can embrace the essence of these words…..  permitting their meanings to become as one anchor… we will obtain the ability to stand firmly in any situation.

First, I must learn how to truly encourage myself….as David did (I Samuel 30:6). Because of the rapidity of events in the realm of the spirit and in the natural; unless we establish a pattern of daily renewing our minds with the Word of God; depression, oppression, confusion, distrust and the like will attempt to take residence within our minds.  However we must not allow our attentions to wander, nor our allegiance to the Lord to become altered.  We must maintain an attitude of gratefulness.  Remember to speak over yourself and encourage yourself …..REGARDLESS!

Next, we must daily seek to educate ourselves concerning some subject. Enlarge the territory of your mind! (I Chronicles 4:9 & 10).   Never let a day end without having learning something new.  Be determined that you will learn at least one new thing every day.  When we don’t actively use our minds, because of the inactivity of certain brain cells; we have opened the door to various psychological disorders.  To become enlightened concerning any subject on a daily basis only requires one key element…. Discipline! 

Lastly, I must remember that I have already been empowered to accomplish EVERY task that I may encounter.   I will triumph in every situation!  (II Corinthians 2:14). God has given to me the power and the authority to successfully triumph in every situation.  However… when I am uncertain concerning this decree; I will permit the enemy to make me think that he has the upper hand.  We have the power…we have already been empowered.  Therefore, we must stand in the midst of any and every situation……commanding it to come into an alignment with what the Lord has said.  Our dilemmas don’t surface because of a lack of power… we have already been empowered!  However the restraint on the manifestation of our power could very well be a result of: ungodly fear; a lack of wisdom; or a lack of correct information.

Therefore, it I encourage myself; become more enlighten; and walk in the empowered state that the Lord has already given unto me…..I can’t be defeated!  When my mind has truly been renewed to this position…… and I used these words as my foundation…… then I have become that feared individual that the enemy’s camp so dreads!!!

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.” Proverbs 4:7 (ESV)

Get Out Of The Boat….But Stand On The Rock!

There have been quite a few popular books published recently expounding on the concept of getting out of the boat.   However today, we are going to “kick it up a notch”.  Getting out of the boat is the initial step.  So what’s the next step?   STANDING ON THE ROCK!!!

Just to recant; the basis for this perception of getting out of the boat is referenced in the book of St. Matthew 14:23-33.  When we refer to this story we are informed that it is the fourth watch.  Now, the fourth watch was the final watch.  That’s when Jesus showed up!  So today….because we are in the “final watch”…therefore, we can expect Jesus to show up in our situations – at any time.  Look for Jesus! He will show up! (We’ll discuss this in detail at a later date.)

So, what does getting out of the boat entail? Basically, first, it means that I must move beyond the arena where I know that I can excel.  I must advance from the level where I have already acquired a certain degree of knowledge and where I feel as though I can “tread the water”……my comfort zone!  I must now begin to exercise my faith and to venture into those areas within in me….that are still “uncharted waters”.  We all have within us gifts and callings which have yet to be developed.  As I explained in a previous lesson…. discover your “Untapped Potential”.   

To begin to discover my untapped potential; I have to come to the realization, that I must make a conscious decision to step out of my boat…my own will, emotions, gifts etc..  Next, I must come into an agreement with the mind of God and into the next phase of the purpose that He has for my life.  To get out of the boat means that I have to relinquish the pillars of my education, past experiences and acquired knowledge … and rely totally on God.  In other words….I must learn to stand solely on the promises of God.  He must become my only Rock. 

To get out of the boat and to stand on the rock requires me to: maintain my focus, increase my fortitude and to anchor myself in the Word of God.

As I stand…like Peter, I must: Ask, Seek and Wait.  Peter first asked, “Lord is it you?”. Therefore, before you just jump out of the boat – know who is calling you!   Next, always Seek the face of God for instruction, wisdom and direction.  Lastly, learn to Wait for the manifestation of His divine presence. Peter’s decision to advance out of the boat came after direct instructions from the voice of the Lord in response to his questions.  Jesus told him specifically two things.  Be not afraid and come.

Today, we are still being instructed to: take courage, be not afraid, and get out of the boat…..but to stand on the Rock.  I am reminded of two hymns (for those of you who still remember what there are!).  The first is, “In Times Like These”.   The chorus (the vamp) said, “Be sure, be very sure your anchor holds and grips that solid Rock”.  The other hymn is, “My Hope is Built”. 

In conclusion, to get out of the boat and stand on the rock I must have: a made up mind (Philippians 2:5); persistence (I Corinthians 15:58), and above all an expressed level of unwavering faith (James 1:6-8).

My Hope is built on nothing less; Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness,

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

On Christ the solid rock I stand; ALL other ground is sinking sand!

Does It Really Matter?

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17 ESV

Many people often ask questions in regards to the appropriateness of their ability to listen to secular music.  Usually, these questions are received from those who still haven’t been able to comprehend the importance of a properly enriched spiritual diet.  It reflects not on the longevity of one’s salvation experience; but on their level of spiritual maturity, as well as their ability to discern the effectiveness that music has on the soul of man.

God has created us with the ability to respond to the sound music in a fashion that we respond to no other stimuli.  Everything that is living reacts to sound music... plants, animals and people.  Music is considered a universal language.  Why? Perhaps because in all actuality,  music emanates from the spirit of the writer.   Therefore, as a child of God – one of my main concerns should be to mimic my Father – in every aspect of life.  So, how can secular music; which has been produced from the spirit and soul of one who is in direct opposition to my Father; be of any sincere benefit to me?   For example: If I believe; as the Bible states that God is love (I John 4:8); how can someone who doesn’t know God, even begin to tell me ANYTHING about love?   

If I am still finding the necessity to seek comfort, enjoyment, relaxation etc. from something that was composed by one who does not know nor have a relationship with my God – what is that saying about how I value my spirit-man?  How much value am I placing on my relationship with God?  Am I saying that God is limited in His ability to produce those whose music has the potential fulfill my every need?  Or have I not matured to the extent that I no longer require the crutch of secular music? Or have I not really become aware of the fact that by me yielding my ear gate to secular music, that I am willingly opening an entrance for the enemy?  Have I not realized that this may be one of the “openings in my perimeter” that the enemy is using to gain access?   We must never forget that we are constantly… (24/7... 365) engaged in a spiritual battle.  Sadly to say, our adversary knows the importance of our relationship with the Lord and recognizes its relevance more than most of us!

In this era where we are constantly bombarded with various “instruments” (ideas, legislative rulings, spirits of err, etc.) which are directly contrary to those of the Lord; we must be alert and on our guard for anything that will attempt to divert our attention and devotion from the Lord.

“…… let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1

So…..Could secular music one of those weights? You be the judge!

Creating An Atmosphere of Excellence

“Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.” Daniel 6:3

As we proceed daily to accomplish all that the Lord has assigned our hands to do; we must always remain cognizant of the fact God expects us to be a living example of excellence by creating this type of atmosphere wherever we are.  This character quality appears not to be as important to some as it should.  One of the causes for the failure to build an atmosphere of excellence is the fact that many are still being held captive in a mindset that has been produced by a spirit of poverty and lack.  Therefore, although they are productive in the realm of the spirit; although they love the Lord; and are living a lifestyle that is well pleasing to the Lord…they lack the ability to create an atmosphere of excellence.

The Spirit of excellence; prior to its demonstration; must have the ability to engulf our minds to the extent they we can first detect anything that is in disarray within us.  Excellence begins inwardly and flows from within.  Excellence is a mindset that commands and demands that we bring into a state of order….. everything – on every level and in every situation.   Therefore, when we have permitted this Spirit of excellence to begin a work WITHIN us …. we will then possess the ability to permit that Spirit to be released FROM us and to infiltrate atmosphere AROUND us. 

One of the main culprits of the Spirit of Excellence is an undisciplined or unconscientious mind.  My ability to identify and uproot any degree of “slackness” that may be within my mind… is to first be able to… “Recognize its fruit then uproot”!   So because excellence refers more to mental condition; I can be a millionaire and still not have a disciplined mindset…. And lack the ability to create an atmosphere of excellence.  My ability to create an atmosphere excellence is not contingent upon my material gain or assets.   My ability to create an atmosphere of excellence is dependent upon my true weightiness in the realm of the Spirit; which will permit me to detect every diabolical plot, plan and ploy.

To create an atmosphere of excellence I must daily refuse to permit others to clutter my mind.  I must maintain a sense freedom.  To create an atmosphere of excellence I must be determined to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.  Finally, to create an atmosphere of excellence I must live according to Philippians 4:8 which states….

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

How Do YOU Measure Success?

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 37:4

The word success is one of those words whose meaning is understood or established by the intent of its user.  Therefore, because everyone has pre-determined differently their own set of aims, goals and purposes – we can agree as well as disagree on what we deem to be successful.

In this era it is imperative that we “re-determine” who and what we use as our “plum-line” to measure success.  Our overall motives must be geared more towards the eternal than the temporal.  In other words; it’s time for us to permit our spiritual appearance to outweigh our physical appearance.  We should deem it of greater importance that we are recognized in the realm of the spirit – than in the natural. 

Think about it.  When you arise in the morning; even prior to getting out of your bed; what impact have you made in the realm of the spirit?  What level of success did you achieve even prior to entering into your devotional time with the Lord?

To accomplish any plateau of success, one must realize that their future estate hangs upon the decisions that they permit their minds to develop and conclude.  Therefore, I must realize that if I utilize what the world deems as “success” to govern my life; I might not avail myself to gleaning the best of life.  (Romans 12:1&2).

Prayerfully re-consider your goals; long term, intermediate and short term.  Never permit the enemy to convince you that you can’t accomplish and exceed whatever your dreams may include (Ephesians 3:20).  If you can dream it – you CAN accomplish it! (Philippians 4:13)

 Lastly, don’t become apprehensive about seeking the advice of those who have already accomplished something similar.  Be determined and develop a sense of tenacity that will endure – REGARDLESS! The first person that you ask might not be the person that the Lord has decreed to assist you…. But don’t be a quitter! History has revealed that most of the accomplished writers, inventors, musician, etc. were once told by “professionals” that they would never make it…. BUT GOD…….!!!!!

Every level of success is achieved when YOU have accomplished the intent that YOU… Governed by the Holy Spirit have pre-determined.

Remember: The sky is not the limit……. You have no limitations…. You have been freed to excel….. You have been equipped to soar and You have been destined for success! REGARDLESS!!!!!!!

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3 (ESV)

Use Your Kingdom Authority!

Behold, I have given you authority, …….over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

The only way to avert the successful attacks of the enemy in our lives is to become informed of the tactics that he is using.   Most of the time we will tend to respond to a specific attack by using physical weapons; rather than to initiate a diabolical encounter against the kingdom of darkness.  As I have often said, we are reactive instead of proactive.   . 

The time is now when we must “step up our game” in the area of spiritual warfare.  We must not remain ignorant concerning the devices of our enemy.  The Bible informs us of various animals which represent the evil forces that have been dispensed or released and operate to destroy us. 

If we are to remain prosperous, we must protect our seed.   God has given to us seeds which are intended to be sown and then to produce a harvest.  However, seeds attact birds.  So in the natural… so in the realm of the spirit.   Spirit birds are attracted to spiritual seeds. 

I had posted the list below which was extracted from “Prayers that Rout Demons” by John Eckhardt ; quite a while ago (January of 2009).  The list includes prayers and names some Spirit Birds.  Not all birds are attracted to the same Spiritual seed.  However, their purpose is to prevent our seeds from producing its intended harvest.

(Although the Lord has promised us that He would rebuke the devourer on our behalf – we must remember that He uses us to accomplish His work here on the earth.  Therefore, we must be properly equipped, ready to be used of Him.)

As you read through the list, ask the Holy Spirit to highlight those which directly concern you.

Dealing With Spirit Birds

I bind and rebuke any unclean and hateful bird sent against my life by the enemy in the name of Jesus (Rev.18:2)
I exercise my dominion over the unclean fowl of the air in the name of Jesus (Ps 8:8)
Let every spirit bird sent against me be taken in the snare (Eccles 9:12)
I bind and rebuke every spiritual vulture in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:15)
I bind the operation of the screech owl (night monster) from operating against me in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:11)
I bind and rebuke the cormorant (the vomiting pelican) from operating against me in the name of Jesus (Isa 34:11)
I bind and rebuke the bittern from operating against my life in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:11)
I bind and rebuke any raven sent against my life in the name of Jesus (Isa. 34:11)
I bind and rebuke any demonic eagle and hawk sent against my life, and I command their nests to be destroyed in the name of Jesus (Job 39: 26-30)
I pray these unclean birds would be caged in the name of Jesus ( Jer. 5:27)
I bind and rebuke any unclean bird that would attempt to nest in my life in the name of Jesus.
Let every wandering bird be cast out if its nest in the name of Jesus (Isa. 16:2)
Let YOUR presence Lord, drive every unclean bird away from my life (Jer. 4:25-26)
Let every fowl of heaven operating against my life be consumed in the name of Jesus (Zeph. 1:3)

Is Fear Hindering Your Progress?

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.  II Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Why did you still have an array of unaccomplished projects waiting to be completed?  Why are you still not boldly advocating or displaying the spiritual gifts which you possess?  Have you permitted the reminders of your past failures to paralyze you – and prevent you from “getting up” and trying again?  If you can affirmatively agree with these questions, the spirit of fear could very well be your deterrent.

It’s time for us to aggressive attack this spirit and forbid its return.  If we don’t uproot this spirit of fear – it will continue to hinder our progress - permitting us to continuously, vigorously run a spiritual treadmill …. Building strong muscles….but going nowhere!

I’m once again printing the prayer concerning fear.  Read it daily for a few days to gain the maximum results.

FEAR BE GONE!  (© 2003)

 ather God in the name of Jesus, I denounce the spirit of fear in my life.  As of this day, I forbid the spirit of fear to dominate, reign or sit passively in any area of my life.

Holy Spirit, I surrender right now to you my entire being.  I ask that you reveal to me now every area of my life where ungodly fear is present.  Every area in my conscience or sub-conscience arena where fear may have a stronghold.  Any area from my past where fear has been the comfort zone.  Reveal every open door that satan has used to bring fear into my life.

Lord God, your word declares that your perfect love will cast out, drive away, eradicate and will replace fear.  So Father, I come to you now and ask that you reveal to me your perfect love in every area of my being.  Your love that will not fail.  Your love that is unconditional.  Your love that is incomprehensive to my natural man, - but is conceivable in the spirit realm.

Father, as I have asked the Holy Spirit to reveal the entrances where fear has entered, I ask you for the wisdom needed to close every open door. I decree those doors closed, shut, sealed - never to be opened again. 

I will now begin the process to renew my mind – daily.  I will develop a new appetite which desires your decreed will for my life – freed from every diabolical hindrance.

I thank you Father God for my new found freedom in you now that the weight of fear is gone. Hallelujah!

New Place – New Position

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:19 (New Living Version)

The Lord has said: “My people are all in a new place and have a new position.  (You should have realized this – if you didn’t already know this; go into a period of consecration as to awaken your discernment.)

Think it not strange that you “feel” different and that the things around you appear to different. The winds have shifted and you are in a new place.  You are now in an enhanced dimension.  You are about to embark upon a new venture.  For some your physical location may be the familiar; however your mission has now been altered, elevated, enlarged and broaden.  Advance, proceed and press forward quickly and cautiously.  It is important that in this dimension you don’t become stagnate, idle or inactive.  Don’t look back. 

Stay freed from every entanglement that once held you captive …. the positive situations as well as the negative.  The enemy knows the important role that you are now in the position to assume.  He is going to attempt to keep you preoccupied with “being busy”…. doing and engaging in assignments that are positive but not God ordained for this season.

Embrace the change by altering whatever you can in the physical realm; this will assist your mind in forming new thought patterns.  If possible change something in your décor; the places where you shop or dine.  Be creative. It may even be as simple as changing something in your normal daily agenda….. But change something!  The shift has already occurred in the realm of the spirit; therefore it won’t be difficult to transform your physical realm.   We have the mind of Christ; therefore, change is only difficult because we have been programmed to believe so. Remember Philippians 4:13!

Don’t expect the assurance or the acceptance of others.  As long as you have my validation, said the Lord….that’s all that matters. Your mandate has already received my stamp of approval.  Continue to guard your heart.  Stand boldly and stand strong in your authority.  It is imperative that your mind stays free.  Walk in peace, walk in power, walk in my promises … and you will continue to walk in my provision as never before.”

And it is so!

“May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.”  Romans 15:33

The Voice of Silence

One of the most rewarding and intimately fulfilling experiences that one can embrace is their relationship with the Lord.  Furthermore, as this bond begins to become more “seasoned”, our fellowship with the Lord transcends the “outer court” experience – and will embrace the natural and mature fellowship - which is characteristic to that of a “holy of holies” occurrence.   Within this dimension, one will learn to truly appreciate their relationship with the Lord.  They will enjoy the conversations with Him which are not relative to this realm, but are held “spirit to spirit”.  In other words, these conversations occur on such an accelerated level, that information is transferred more quickly than our brain can receive, process and transmit the words to our mouth! Consequently, you learn that it’s useless to even attempt to speak to Him with your natural mouth.  So you just settle down and allow the “mouth of your spirit” to communicate with the Lord. 

One morning, while having one of these conversations, the Lord asked me, “What do you hear?” I responded, “I don’t hear anything”.  Again he said, “What do you hear?”   I replied, “Nothing”.   Then, a third time he asked, “What do you hear?”  Well…. by this time, I’m thinking about Peter!   I’m thinking… Okay, .I’m really missing something here!  So I waited for a while, then I replied, “I hear silence.”  The Lord replied, “YES!...so you do hear something!  You hear silence.” Then he said, “Now, listen pass the silence.  What do you hear?”  As I listened more intensively, I answered, “I hear conversations”. (Even though the language wasn’t a spoken language that I was familiar with – it seemed as though I could understand exactly what was being transmitted). ….  Yes, he responded, “Always remember that in times of “silence” the enemy is diabolically planning, strategizing, and regrouping.  Therefore, use those times that appear to be silent wisely”. 

“Listen”, He said, “For the voice…the Voice in the Silence.  The voice that will signify the shift in the wind.  Listen for voice of distractions.  Acknowledge them...but learn not to entertain them.”  He further said, “As you listen to the voice in the silence of the wind, you will be able to distinguish the sounds of the wind.  Listen for the wind within the wind.”

To Listen in the realm of the Spirit……… Is To…..

L = Look and Learn; Look beyond his realm into the multifaceted dimension where God’s sovereign authority is evident. Then LEARN how to walk in the liberty of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 4:18)

I = Ignite Your Expectation (Proverbs 10:28)

S = Settle Your Spirit (Romans 12:1 & 2)

T = Temper Your Mind (Philippians 2:5)

E = Exercise Your Kingdom Authority (Matthew 28:18)

N = Nurture Your Information Received (Matthew 7:6)

As endtime Leaders (and Saints), we must know how to listen...not just for the voice of the Lord, but with a discerning ear for the “Voice of Silence”.   God has equipped us and established us as His ambassadors to properly discern the times.  Just as he led His people through the wilderness with a cloud and a pillar….He’s still leading us through our endtime wilderness (natural & physical).  However, we must know how to LISTEN. As we adhere to the proper listening techniques, we will know how and when it is the appropriate time to move His people (and ourselves) to their next place (and our next place) in Him.

Reach Beyond the Break….And Keep It Moving!!!

 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed ; we are perplexed , but not in despair ; 9 Persecuted , but not forsaken ; cast down , but not destroyed ;  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.                      II Corinthians 4: 8-10

As it is, there's not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we're not much to look at. We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us - trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us - he lives!

Life has a way of introducing “interruptions” which usually are unexpected and have a tendency to throw us off course for a second.  The Lord wants to remind us that whatever causes a break in our daily flow should only present a momentary pause.  We must reach beyond that break …and keep it moving!  Delays are many times unavoidable.  However, a delay must only present a “comma” in our lives – and not a “period”.  Reach beyond every break and keep it moving.

Below I’ve added another prayer.  Be blessed and always remember never stop, never quit,  never give up or give in – reach beyond that break…..and KEEP IT MOVING!!!

Power To Press Beyond

Father in Jesus’ name, I thank you for the innate force within me that prompts me to seek a deeper revelation of you.

For my only desire in pressing beyond this realm is to obtain a greater insight of you and your solemnness; thus enabling me to not walk on the surface, but to have available to me those hidden, partially revealed spiritual treasures that are vital at this time.  These “jewels” are required for me to excel and will afford me the opportunity to properly lead others.

Lord God, I thank you that I have learned to persevere and to press beyond the obstacles, the road blocks and the detour signs - the hidden snares designed to delay your divine will for my life.  Thank you for the courage to press; - that courage which is required to recognize and discern; to subdue and call to nought every demonic and satanic force sent to oppose me on every level.  I now know how to press through and not request that you to remove from me difficult situations.  For I recognize that all of these have been foreordained for my advancement.

Since you have told me that the best is in the press, I will press into you at any cost.   I will press beyond the feelings of defeat, frustration, adversity and opposition. I will press beyond the spirits of despair, dejection and rejection.  I have learned that I must press beyond any of the feelings in my flesh, and rely only what my spirit discerns for you. Then and then only will I maintain this realization that in my press, YOU will never deny me.  So forgetting those things which are behind, I press.

Growing and still maturing in the process, I press.

Reestablishing My Optic Restraints

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened;……” Ephesians 1:18

One of the most undetectable hindering forces in our Christian walk is the lack of our ability to “see” our world through God’s optic lens.   Not that God has actual eyes – but rather meaning; to view; to understand; to perceive and to understand from the character of who He is.

Today, we are going to ask the Lord to remove every optic restraint that is preventing us from exceling….. every optic restraint that is hindering our ability to be that powerfully effective threat to the kingdom of darkness that we should be. Whatever spirit is diminishing our zeal; our tenacity and our ability to perceive our future status from a “kingdom platform”; must be revealed, removed, and commanded never to return.  This command must be fortified by sealing the entrance that permitted access and an entry to our optic realm.

So, Lord my prayer is also that my discernment be sharpened to a position of dominance over my reasoning.  May I be more conscience concerning what I permit my physical eyes to view on a regular basis.  Lord, bring me to a constant awareness that I MUST curtail; the television programs, the movies, the videos, any printed material, and everything that enters my eye gate.  Assist me in the realization that if my optic restraints are to be reestablished – that I must also limit what I feed my spirit man. I must fully comprehend that many things are not sinful – but they will not permit me to have the ability to “view” from a place of kingdom authority and power.  In other words; there are things which in themselves are not sinful; yet these things will cause a delay in the renewal process of my mind and limit the view of my spiritual horizon.  

May I see clearly without the input from anything that is contrary to the hope of your glory.  May I always be cognizant of the fact that, that which is seen through my physical is temporal – however that which is perceived in the realm of the Spirit is eternal!  And now Lord – with every ungodly restraint or perception removed and replaced according to Kingdom guidelines…. May the eyes of my heart be flooded with the illumination of your radiant light.

“¹⁷For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, ¹⁸By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), ¹⁹ And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,”   Ephesians 1:17-19 AMP
