.. And you will never THIRST again!

“but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again” John 4:14a

In recent years, the spirit of man has increasingly become aware of the fact that there is a lack in a vital area.   We have become conscious of the reality that we have within us an area that seems to have an unquenchable thirst.   We have a constant longing for fulfillment.    As always, the spirit of pride has persuaded us to think that we have the perfect answer!

So, as the end of time as we know it draws nigh, our spirits (saved or unsaved) are sensing a global spiritual lack of the presence of God.  We can “feel” that we need something – which is fantastic!  However our solution is inadequate.  Man has attempted to satisfy a spiritual necessity with a physical device.   We have chosen the correct element – but in the wrong form!

Wherever we go (at least here in America), what do we see in the possession of most people –  even during the winter season?  The rich, the poor; the young, the old; blue collar, white collar – EVERYONE seems to feel the need to have one of these in their possession – wherever they go.  What is it?  It’s their bottle of water!  Many people will not leave home without it!

Have you ever questioned where this notion of an inseparable water bottle has surfaced?  Now.. of course we are aware of our body’s natural requirement for water – especially during times of exertion. However, we must wonder if this obsession with the constant need of physical water is an attempt to satisfy in the natural what can only be fulfilled in the realm of the spirit.   Is this a strategic ploy from the enemy to divert our attention from the real issue?   Or do we so lack the ability to discipline our flesh that we must revert to the scenario of a toddler and their “sippee cup”?  Whatever the answer, we can all (well… some of us) remember the days when people so respected the Lord that they would never bring anything to eat or to drink into the worship service.  People would rarely even give the babies a bottle during a service. Why? Because everyone was taught to respect the presence of the Lord…..and not to focus on themselves but on the Lord.  However, now… we aren’t as disciplined – the church and the government have strayed from “the ancient landmark” (Proverbs 22:28).  As a result, now we - our entire nation - have undeveloped, underdeveloped, undisciplined spirits – that display a longing and a thirst…… that we are attempting to satisfy with physical water.

We must always remember that God has given to us the remedy that will quench and totally satisfy every thirst.  When we learn to drink of freely of that Living Water, we will have at our disposal that ability to command our flesh to be disciplined.  We will re-establish boundaries which have now been produced by a renewed mind set.   We will learn that it’s not the physical water that we are longing for – but something that far out-weighs this physical realm.

So, to wrap this up (because there is a lot more that could be added concerning the physical vs. the spiritual water) – I’ll say this, when we begin to appease our spirit man with more spiritual water, then and only then will we be totally satisfied and gratified.  Above all, God will be glorified, His Spirit magnified and His presence multiplied in our lives….and we will never thirst again!

The Eye of the Needle

The Eye of the Needle

“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”         Matthew 19:24, Mark 10:25, Luke 18:25

One reference source explains the “eye of the needle” as a secondary gate which was used at night when the primary entrance had already been sealed for the evening.  This gate was much smaller in height and width than the main gate.  The only way that a camel could enter would be to get down on its knees, be stripped of all of its baggage and guided carefully though.

In our text, the Lord isn’t condemning anyone for being rich; however the warning is being given to all who have excelled in obtaining material gain.  Be your riches in the areas of: finances, education, prestige, or in any other area; whatever you have acquired in excessive must not replace your love and allegiance to the Lord.  Far too often, when someone begins to “move up the ladder” their level of dedication, integrity, and loyalty to the Lord gradually begins to diminish.

We have read for years that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just.  We have also heard about the great release of finances that is on the onset for those who have been faithful.

As you continue to receive your endtime release, it is imperative that you increase your devotion and admiration to and for the Lord.

Don’t lose your focus.  One of the concepts concerning the eye of the needle that is relevant for today is this: we must be willing to be stripped of everything for the cause of Christ.  We must not become so attached to anything - that we will not release it at a command from the Lord.  We must never consider ourselves too “important” to get down on our hands, knees and faces in the presence of the Lord (Give no place to the spirit of pride!).

The eye of the needle can also be symbolic to entering into the holy of holies in the realm of the spirit.  We must be stripped of everything prior to the Lord granting us permission to enter. Many people are saved; however not everyone who is saved will be given access to the “holy of holies” in the realm of the spirit.   To gain access requires one to value their relationship with the Lord to the degree that they are willing to surrender any and everything, for and to Him.

Again I reiterate: Don’t Lose Your Focus!  The tables have begun to turn and the imminent release to the true Saints is no longer pending – it’s here!  However, if we are going to retain all that we receive, we must maintain our relationship with the Lord; and increase in our devotion to Him.  Our hearts must remain pliable to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  When we totally surrender our hearts – whatever is in our hands will automatically follow.

Don’t be compared to the rich young ruler (Matthew 19:16-26).   Daily remind yourself that you must be able and willing to forsake it all for the cause of Christ.

I challenge you in this season to become more alert in the realm of the spirit.  Fine tune your hearing.  Above all…. remain disciplined enough to pass through the eye of the needle.

"Not On the Menu"

Not On the Menu

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,…..” Ephesians 1:4

Every master chef knows the importance of having a well organized menu. The purpose of the menu is to inform everyone exactly what they can expect to receive from that particular establishment.  Therefore when one glances at the menu they can determine the type of facility, the expertise of the chief, as well as the clientele who frequent that place of business.  We also understand that we can’t order an item that is not listed on the menu – and become upset if that item is either not available or not prepared to our liking.  The master chef will only order the essential ingredients which are required to properly prepare those items which are listed on the menu.  Now an experienced chef will on occasion, use some of the ingredients which were purchased for one item and prepare something that is not listed on the menu.  However, this is not always possible.  For example; you can’t become distraught if a fast food restaurant doesn’t fulfill your request for a fresh seafood order.  Why? It isn’t on their menu.

So it is with our lives.  God who is our Master Chef has a well-planned menu for lives.  As the scripture text states; even before the foundation of the world – God had already written the menu for each and every one of our lives.  Therefore He knows which ingredients to include in our lives that will permit us to produce the highest quality of life.  He knows a forehand which circumstances, experiences, trials and the like to include on our menus of life.  He also knows: because He is God, the decisions that we will make in every given situation. However, because we already have a well-planned menu, when we make contrary choices in our lives; God has the ability to use those choices to still yet perfect His plan for our lives (Romans 8:28).  He’ll take our burnt bread; scrap off the overly browned portions; cut it onto squares and use it for crotons!  He’s the Master Chef and therefore knows exactly how to perfect everything in our lives…..if we permit Him to!

Therefore, when you feel as though you are on the verge on becoming overwhelmed and going out of your mind – just declare that a nervous breakdown can’t occur… Why?.. it’s not on your menu!

When you feel as though you “can’t” – just declare that failure is not on your menu.

When you feel as though everything is just taking too long to materialize – just remember that the best sauces must simmer for hours; and endurance IS on your menu!

When you feel as though the bottom has fallen out of your world and every stable foundation has been shaken – just relax… God may be testing you or just trying to get your attention so that He can elevate you to the next course of your menu!

Learn to rest in the Lord and in what He is doing at this stage of your life.  We must remember that God had not “mass produced” us.  Therefore, we aren’t to compare our menu items with anyone else’s.  Although they may appear to be similar on the surface – because we are all uniquely made, so are our menus.  We aren’t to be compared to the “chain” stores which all possess the same exact menus.  Yes, we are all God’s kids – but we are all so different!.... He planned it that way!

So it doesn’t matter how your circumstances may currently appear to you – simply remember that God is only attempting to get you to advance from the soup on your menu to the dessert. He has the entire menu of your life in mind.  You can’t simply produce the “soup” from your menu of life... forever!  It’s now time to advance to the appetizer and then endure every challenge of life.  God is only attempting to get you to the end of your menu…. Where you mind will be totally focused... and you will have the ability to enjoy the dessert course of life ….without regards to your current circumstances!

The Tip and The Tithe

The Tithe & The Tip

“What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me [How can I repay Him for all His bountiful dealings?]?”  Psalm 116:12 AMP

There was an article in “Money” magazine that offered suggestions in reference to tipping those who render specific services to and for us.  The listing included people from various walks of life.  As I read through the list, I had observed that every person, whose vocation was mentioned, was receiving at the very LEAST ten percent!

It appears that we have no problem expressing our gratitude to people when they supply us with a few “comforts of life”.  As a matter of fact; we will even often be very generous to them when we feel as though their services rendered to us were outstanding.

Therefore, if we are willing to demonstrate to mere people our appreciativeness; why is it that so many devoted; scripture quoting; Bible toting; Saints of the Most High God; have a problem giving back to God what rightfully belongs to Him?

Far too many have become “bamboozled” or “hoodwinked” when considering their giving unto the Lord.  In all actuality, we, as endtime Saints are no longer bound by the law.  We are supposed to use the principles which were established under the law (in the Pentateuch) to build our foundational truths.  However we have been redeemed from the curse of the law.  The New Testament expresses “free will giving”.  Yet, since the ten percent was already established in the O.T…. we are to now use that as a MINIMUM for our giving – not a maximum.  Therefore…. you haven’t really accomplished some great feat when you deposit your little ten percent into the tithe box!

Just think about it.  The waitress at a local “greasy spoon” is receiving at the very least fifteen percent!  Therefore, how can we be content to offer to GOD ten percent of our increase and feel as though we’ve accomplished some great feat?  Have we forgotten that He is our FATHER; the creator of the entire UNIVERSE; supreme in EVERY aspect; and the one who has enabled us to obtain our money????

It never ceases to amaze me how people will claim that they can’t afford to tithe!  Yet these same people will; participate in various saving programs at work, plan for a vacation, make various purchases in advance– yet never consider putting aside a special offering for the Lord!

Why are some people so apprehensive concerning their giving to the Lord?  One of the reasons is that they have not been liberated from the spirit of poverty.  That spirit and its big brother: the spirit of fear, are a “dynamic duo”.  Their power must be identified and broken if one is to live as a New Testament; free will giver.

So, what shall I render unto the Lord?  I will render myself as a living testimony of His miraculous redemptive, saving, and sustaining power. However, I will also never esteem myself or others higher than I do the Lord when it comes to giving; especially the giving of money.  I will never give unto the Lord any less than what I am giving to those who are serving me in the natural.    I will never offer to God a TIP….but a true TITHE …. Which will prove to the enemy that God is Lord – even over my assets!

Therefore, when I say that I’ve surrendered all to the Lord…. and that He is first in my life….He truly is….  And I have really surrendered ALL!!

It’s Promotion Time…but , Are You Ready?

“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” Psalm 75:6 &7

Can you recall the array of feelings that you experienced when you had finally achieved a certain accomplishment …. and it was time to move to the next level?   As you reflect, you will remember that there were various requirements that had to be successfully completed before you were able to be advanced.  Whether it was in school or on a job, most of the time, before you could be promoted, you had to confidently show your superiors that you were ready.  It didn’t matter how ready you may have thought yourself to be – you could not promote yourself.

The same holds true in our walk with the Lord.  Psalm 75:6 & 7 tells us that promotion comes from the Lord.  So it doesn’t matter how great we may think that we are – when it is time for us to be promoted, God can and will advance us to our next place in Him.  However, we must remember that because our God is a personal God, He has tailor made each of our courses just for us.  When the time is right He can catapult you to your next place.  However, we must successfully pass every test that he presents to us.

Far too often we catch a glimpse of our new direction and our next promotion.  Then in the excitement, we attempt to promote ourselves - because God is just taking too long!  Just remember that patience is the virtue required on every level.  When you are ready, God will easily open the many doors that you are trying to force open.

In some instances, we have been misinformed and think that people can hinder our progress in the Lord.  We fail to remember that God may be really using those hindrances and “hinderers” in our lives to build in us the unshakable stamina and resilience needed for promotion!   Therefore, we must not forget that when we are ready, God can still touch the hearts of those that we feel are hindering our progress.  In time, as we mature in the realm of the spirit, we will obtain the ability to realize that God really does know what He is doing!

Lastly, promotions may cause us to experience the temporary anxiety of leaving that which is familiar as we advance to our new position.  However we can’t permit that triplet of fear, doubt and unbelief to tag along with us.  We must continue to trust God and He will gently guide us through the progress.

Yes it is promotion time…but don’t rush the process; nor drag your feet…rest in the Lord….and continue to allow HIM to walk you through the process.

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” James 4:10

The Centipede & The Christian

The Centipede & The Christian

Read: I Corinthians 12:12-26

How you ever considered a centipede?  Probably not. However the Lord had instructed me to do a little research on them.  After which, He instructed me to prepare a comparison between the similarities of the centipede and the endtime Saints.  (Set aside some time to do the same.  I’m sure that it will prove to be very advantageous to your ministry or your Christian walk.)

As we speak, the enemy is devising a fast approaching army that will secrete a very painful poisonous venom like that which can be ejected from the centipede.  Unlike the scorpion, but like the centipede. (Compare the two.)  This venom is secreted from the first set of legs on the centipede.  In our ministries, far too often our “front legs” have no venom.  Our front line of defense is composed of those who are novice, and unprepared to stand effectively against the blows of the enemy.  We can no longer afford to voluntarily give the adversary an entrance and an access to us simply because we have not established our perimeter with those who are “seasoned” enough and wise enough to be able to effectively ward off his attacks.

Next, each section of the centipede is equipped with a set of 2 legs. Some have less than 20 legs; while others have more than 300.  Nevertheless, it glides smoothly because each set of legs carries its own weight!

We must ourselves…. and we must equip others to carry their own weight by effectively using their God given talents and abilities.   No longer should we assign people to positions where they are not called - just for the sake of filling a position.  We also, must equip ourselves to become more reliant upon the Holy Ghost and not on other people to carry us.   Those of you who are not assuming leadership positions – yet – should not permit someone to place you into given position that you know you are not called to.  Not an endtime strategy!

Lastly, each set of legs on the centipede is made a little short than the set in front of it.  This depicts order.  Many of our churches are not making an effective impact because they have not been established according to the apostolic order that God mandated for His church.   (Not referring to the Apostolic Denomination.)

Centipedes are primarily hunters.  Once it has found its prey; it will usually wrap itself around the prey and wait for the venom to take effect before consuming it.

We have been instructed to go into the hedges and the highways looking for the unsaved.  When we have found them – then we as the body of Christ are to wrap ourselves around them and to show them the  powerful “venom” of the love of God “that is able to cover” them.

Much more can be said about the centipede and the body of Christ.  However, I’ll conclude by saying….

Remember:  Just as there are over 8,000 species of the centipede; we being many members, are just one species - one body.  Our ultimate goal should be to stand, and demonstration to the world, that whatever the attack, we as the body of Christ will remain unified ….

Because the Lord has already prepared us…the body of Christ… to be His triumphant Church.

It’s Already Done…Just Receive It!

“Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.”   Luke 10:19 (AMP)

Are you waiting for God to “give” to you something that He has already made available for you to receive?  I’ve recently been hearing quite a few people expressing that they are waiting for God to move in a given situation…. waiting for God to heal them; waiting for God to deliver… and the list could go on.

We must come to the realization that in most circumstances, we are waiting for God to do something that He has already made the provision for.   Usually, because we don’t have the proper knowledge (my people perish for lack of knowledge!  Hosea 4:6); we don’t know that we only have to RECEIVE the provision that has already been made available to us.  We have to also remember that our words have the power to change any situation (death and life ARE in the power of MY tongue.  Proverbs 18:21).

Here’s an example.  One Sunday morning when I awoke, my eye was swollen, red, feeling scratchy and inflamed.  Now, when I looked at it, I could have said, “I have conjunctivitis (pink eye)”.  However, I said, “Lord, I receive your healing for my eye in the name of Jesus.”  As I washed it, I further said, “Now Lord as I do this in the natural, I expect you to apply your “Super” to my “Natural” so that this eye can receive total healing. The entire process maybe took 5 or 10 minutes.  Then I proceeded to get ready for church.  Well, before I went to church, my eye had received the healing!

Now, I didn’t ask God to heal my eye.  I didn’t wait to “see” what was going to happen.  Why? Because He has already told me that He has given ME power over all sickness and disease.  God will never do something that He has given us the power to do.  So, I had to do my part – which was to stand on the Word of God.  Not to beg and plead with Him to do something.    Usually our problem isn’t that we don’t have the power.  Our dilemma is that we don’t know how to properly apply the power that has been given to us.   Far too often we are synonymous to a starving person, who sits beside a refrigerator which is full of cooked food; and is praying day after day for the Lord to fill their hungry stomach; and telling the Lord that they are hungry!

Healing has already been made available.  If I truly believe that Jesus bore all of my sicknesses and diseases (Isaiah 53:5) – then why would I have to ask God to do something that has already occurred?

On occasion, our level of faith must be increased to believe that God is who He proclaims to be.  However, when we learn to continually renew our minds; then our thoughts will change; and the words that we release from our mouths will change.   So, instead of saying, “I don’t have that much faith”,… you would say something like, “My level of faith is increasing”.  Instead of saying, “I feel sick”…. Something like, “I feel like I need to apply some healing” would be said.

I challenge you to begin to curtail the words which you release from your mouth into the realm of the spirit.

Remember……the Word of God does work…. I just have to learn how to WORK the WORD!

“….Lord I believe…Help thou my unbelief.”  Mark 9:24

....... Any Wicked Way

….Any Wicked Way

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139: 23 & 24

When I consider the word wicked, I often refer to wicker furniture.  What differentiates this type of furniture is the fact that it has been uniquely processed.  Wicker refers to the weaving process that the material has under gone.  So wicker furniture has been woven in a way that will produce a certain effect.

Far too often our hearts have been interwoven with concepts, motives, ideologies, etc. which have produced in us a wickered or wicked way.  We have – in many instances unknowingly – been indoctrinated by traditions, rituals, and the like which have lead us down the path to bondage.  We have within us areas which are still harboring the spirits of: anger, deceit, and fear.  Pride is still on board and has intricately been woven into our hearts causing us to unknowingly “bow” to various idols.

Of course, none of us have erected ancient day idols in our homes; but what is worst is the fact that we have them within our hearts!   We, on many occasions; establish, pay homage to, and hold in too high esteem the reverence for “people, places and things” over our relationship with our God. A reverential respect and fear of God has not taken its rightful position within our hearts.

The true revelation of all that is within our hearts, will only by produced by an illumination from the Holy Spirit.  So on a personal level; I need to sincerely seek the face of the Lord, and ask Him to reveal any wicked or wickered way that is within me.  Then I must learn to succumb to His leading as He directs me to the path which will allow me to obtain a renewed heart – totally submitted and committed for His use.

“Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong - then guide me on the road to eternal life.” Psalm 139: 23 -24 (The Message Bible)

Have You Heard It?

Have You Heard It?

“………..but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”  Romans 6:13b

What do you hear?  A new sound has been dispatched from the heavens and is seeking new instruments.  This sound is seeking the instruments that have the ability to receive it and blend it properly so that it forms a new chord!

In this season, we must listen with the ear of our spirit for the new chord.  As we hear it, we must receive it into our spirits.  Then it becomes our responsibility to share it and to instruct others in the proper disciplinary spiritual insights; which are required for them to become “new instruments”.

As this new sound is received here on earth, then blended by many and released back to the Lord - it will ascend as one voice; one perfected sound unto the Lord.  Although in the realm of the spirit—we may hear several complexed chords they will still ascend as one voice; one perfected praise unto the Lord.

This new sound, once we have received it into our spirits, will enable our souls to become transformed into the expressed mind and will of God.  Now, at this point, our minds will have the capability of becoming completely renewed, and our bodies will be disciplined enough to be brought totally under the subjection of the Holy Ghost;….. and presented as a living sacrifice.  In other words the true meaning of Romans 12:1 &2 will be demonstrated through our lives.

Many prophetic gatherings - true prophetic gatherings, are receiving the manifestation and the divine presence of the Lord as never before, simply because they have heard the new sound.

This new sound - prophetic in nature, has no limits and no boundaries! Yet, its nature is disciplined, its character is divine and its application is strategic.

Leaders, Warriors, the new sound has been released…..Have You Heard It?

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

Note: There has also been a sound released from the kingdom of darkness – a counterfeit; a replica …. Learn to discern the difference!)

The Opitcal Illusion

The Optical Illusion

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 14:12

Optical illusions; better referred to as visual illusions; have taught us that what we think that we see, doesn’t always reveal what is actually present.  In a visual illusion, your brain attempts to process information received from your optic nerve.  However, although many people can view the same picture they will not perceive the same image.  This is thought to be because of the complexity and individuality of our brain cells; as well as all of the occurrences and information that we have received in our lifetimes. Therefore, we have learned that we can only believe about a half of what we see with our physical eye.

As the end of time as we have now perceived it quickly draws nigh, it behooves us to more eagerly develop our spiritual senses.  We must learn not to sensor everything through what we see with our physical eye, but to increase the awareness of our spirits (conscience, intuition, and communion with God)….. And to permit that knowledge to impact our soul (mind, will and emotions).

The enemy has painted most of the visual illusions that we cling to today – and that we perceive as truth.  Usually, our number one blockage or hindrance in our spiritual walk has resulted from nothing more than an optical illusion.  It’s some concept or precept that we have “viewed” and now its residue is still lingering….preventing us from aggressively and effectively defeating the enemy….at all times.

II Corinthians 4:18 summarizes this entire concept.  Here Paul is telling us not to look at the things that we see…..because they are subject to change.  I would like to encourage you to focus more on the “weightier” things in life.  Many people will read every label prior to purchasing their food or clothing and exercise religiously. …nothing wrong here.  However, their focus on the edification of their spirit man is not as meticulous.

Let’s not longer receive the optical illusion that this world has presented.  Let’s take off the spiritual blinders….and stop living within the perimeters….the “lies” that the enemy has given to us.  Walk by faith, not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7).  We are still privy to every blessing proclaimed in Deuteronomy 28.  Don’t allow an optical illusion to deceive you!

“Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.” II Corinthians 4:18  Amplified Version

Keep the Fire Ablaze!

Keep the Fire Ablaze

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”  James 1:22

If you can remember some of the lessons from your chemistry class, one of the first lessons was probably on the composition of fire.  As a reminder, three elements are required to cause the chemical reaction to occur that we call fire. They are: oxygen, fuel and heat.  If one of these components is missing…. there will be no fire.

Fire likes to spread, and when it touches ANYTHING it will attempt to engulf it.  Fire will test whatever is in its path to measure the tangibility of its composure. If a fire is going to continue to burn and increase in intensely – it must maintain its fuel supply.

What about your inward fire?  Sometimes, our spiritual fires have been ignited, but if we haven’t provided the adequate fuel line to feed our fires….. they burn themselves out. Are you snuffing out your flame?  Is your flame struggling to stay lit?  Has the sin of: disobedience, worry, ignorance or impatience caused there to be a break or a leak in your fuel line…and now the flame of your fire is just flickering instead of blazing?

When we have the fire of the Holy Ghost burning on the inside, He will; because of the complexity of His nature, possess the ability to perform a multi-faceted purpose. He will protect and defend; be an offensive as well as a defensive barrier and enable us with the ability to live a productive life. He will spread and ignite everything that is within us; and conform it to His likeness….if we permit Him to do so.

We must be determined to keep our fire blazing. The Holy Spirit will assist us – but we must do our part.   To maintain our spiritual fire, we must also supply Him with the three required substances. It is mandatory that we have: the oxygen (our submitted will); the fuel (supplying a proper spiritual diet) and the heat (continual line of communication with the Father).

I challenge you to …..at any cost…..Keep Your Fire Ablaze!!!

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”  I Corinthians 15:58

Ability & Authority

Ability & Authority

“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.” Matthew 10:1

In the book of Matthew chapter 10 we can read a recorded account concerning the instructions that Jesus relayed to His disciples.  He informed them that He had given unto them the two key components which would be essential for the success of their journey as His disciples.

The power that was given to them as His disciples has not diminished. We still have that power today to accomplish every task that is mentioned. The Greek word for power that is used here implies the fact that we have been given the strength as well as the permission to assist this chaotic world in their quest to fulfill every void in their lives.

We must always remain cognizant of the facts that are stated in this chapter.  It is not by coincidence that in the very first verse is the mention of power against unclean spirits.  Today, many of these spirits which were previously working “behind the scenes” are now boldly and openly displaying their presence. Yet, we have already been given the ability and the authority to; eradicate, destroy and to totally dismantle them from wherever they decide to make their abode.  However because we have failed to properly apply our power, the world is now reaping the consequences of the same.

Therefore we must be more determined to use the power that has already been given to us.  We must personally decree and affirm who and whose we are.  It is imperative that I remain cognizant of the fact that:  It is because of the ability and authority that I already possess that I can be that disciple who will decree and declare that:

  1. I will not conform to this world’s standards, policies and mindsets. (Romans 12:1 & 2)
  2. I will not become over whelmed as I labor for the Lord. (Galatians 6:9)
  3. I will not permit the advancement of the wicked to sway my decisions (Psalm 37:1)
  4. I will stand & praise the Lord in the midst of every situation - positive or negative (Ps. 34:1)
  5. I will remain faithful in the giving of my: gifts, assets and time. (Revelation 2:10)
  6. I will encourage myself; not lean to what I think; and daily enforce God’s plan for my life. (I Samuel 30; Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalm 61:8)

So…. Let’s walk in the Confidence and in the Conviction of the Lord…… because we have already been given the Ability and His Authority!

From Fetters to Freedom

From Fetters to Freedom

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishment on the peoples, To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron,

                                                                                                                                                                  Psalm 149;6-8

There was a hymn entitled, “Jesus Breaks Every Fetter”.  Even though that song is rarely heard its implication hasn’t loss it validity.  When we bring to mind thoughts concerning the word “fetter”, we can correlate them to various obstacles that the enemy attaches to us to delay our progress in the Lord.   Whether they be: areas of sin or weaknesses in the flesh; the phenomena of life; or circumstances totally beyond our control; - a fetter is anything that is tied to me which restricts my mobility and/or my advancement.

There are those things; some of which WE have permitted or instituted.  Others could have been inherited or the consequences of circumstances which were beyond our control.  Nevertheless, these obstacles still continue: to shackle, bond, chain and yoke themselves to us.  Therefore our effectiveness in the realm of the spirit is none productive.  Many times we are attempting to assist others in a deepen walk with the Lord, yet we have not been freed ourselves of our many “fetters”……  However Jesus still breaks EVERY fetter.

What are some of the evidences that our fetters have been broken?

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, my concern is to increase my relationship with the Lord - just because of who he is - not because of what he can do.

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, I will realize that as I increase in my love walk and in every other walk in my life - so will those with whom I am connected.  (The proof IS in the pudding!  Leaders.. We cannot any longer expect others to walk in a level of excellency that we are not committed to!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, my appetites are disciplined and my motives pure.

¨ When Jesus has broken every iron fetter, the manifestation of the enemy’s work won’t frighten me, his maneuvers don’t surprise me and his schemes can’t outwit me.

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, I won’t just sing, “It is Well With My Soul”, but my life will exemplify and verify so.  (By your fruit shall you be known!)

¨ When Jesus has broken every fetter, the peace of God WILL rule my mind,  I WILL walk above EVERY circumstance in this life, and I WILL remain focused on and committed to the plans and purposes  that the Lord has assigned to me.

Therefore to obtain the freedom which will permit the peace of God to continually infiltrate our lives; surpassing all understanding;…. every fetter and its suppressing power must be broken!

So ….its once again dependent upon the status of my mind! Once my mind has been liberated from its fetters – I will have the ability to be…and to maintain total freedom in every area of my life.  Then and only then will I have at my disposal the matured level of wisdom to advance from Fetters to Freedom.

FEAR BE GONE!!!!

FEAR BE GONE!!!

F

ather God in the name of Jesus, I denounce the spirit of fear in my life.  As of this day, I forbid the spirit of fear to dominate, reign or sit passively in any area of my life.

Holy Spirit, I surrender right now to you my entire being.  I ask that you reveal to me now every area of my life where ungodly fear is present.  Every area in my conscience or sub-conscience arena where fear may have a stronghold.  Any area from my past where fear has been the comfort zone.  Reveal every open door that satan has used to bring fear into my life.

Lord God, your word declares that your perfect love will cast out, drive away, eradicate and will replace fear.  So Father, I come to you now and ask that you reveal to me your perfect love in every area of my being.  Your love that will not fail.  Your love that is unconditional.  Your love that is incomprehensive to my natural man, - but is conceivable in the spirit realm.

Father, as I have asked the Holy Spirit to reveal the entrances where fear has entered, I ask you for the wisdom needed to close every open door. I decree those doors closed, shut, sealed - never to be opened again.

I will now begin the process to renew my mind – daily.  I will develop a new appetite which desires your decreed will for my life – freed from every diabolical hindrance.

I thank you Father God for my new found freedom in you now that the weight of fear is gone. Hallelujah!

 In Jesus’ Name.  Amen!

Oh No! Not This Time!!!

OH NO! Not This Time!!!

“Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore, get wisdom; and in all thy getting, get understanding”. Proverbs 4:7

Today we appear to be forever learning – but never gleaning the proper understanding.  The Lord desires for us to remember and to understand three things;

  1. WHO He is
  2. WHAT He is doing
  3. WHY He is allowing us to encounter certain situations and circumstances.

Knowledge gives FACTS, but UNDERSTANDING permits me to properly apply the meanings of the facts that I’ve learned.  Many times we are experiencing the same situations over and over again.  This is usually because we haven’t gleaned the wisdom that’s necessary to understand WHO God is; WHAT He is doing and the WHY of His actions.  Therefore, when circumstances unexpectedly become adverse; we become frustrated, anxious, angry and discouraged.

Knowledge gives us Information but Understanding yields Principles; Knowledge impacts our memory but understanding impacts our reasoning; Knowledge builds scholars but Understanding creates teachers.

SO, this time when I’m confronted with the same situations….again… my response will reflect that I’m truly in a different place.  Since I don’t just have information but I now have an understanding of WHO, WHAT and WHY….I will emerge from every situation as “more than a conqueror”.  No matter what the opposition – I can tell the enemy..... OH NO – Not This Time!

In Mark 13:7 in the amplified version

7And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not get alarmed (troubled and frightened); it is necessary [that these things] take place, but the end is not yet.”

8For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines and calamities. This is but the beginning of the [a]intolerable anguish and suffering [only the first of the [b]birth pangs].

So when the next major calamity comes that shook us like “9 -11” did; Our response will not be one of fear and frustration.  We will maintain our focus – and tell the enemy…OH NO – Not This Time!

When sickness comes again….because I now understand Isaiah 53:5 – I will stand and declare, OH NO.. Not This Time!

If finances become questionable, because I’m a tither and understand Malachi 3:11 - I can say OH NO.. No This Time.

When Loneliness knocks at my door – I can open the door with Deuteronomy 31:6.

When disappointments and tribulations arise… Romans 8:38 & 39 will be response… And Whatever the enemy throw my way, because I now have the proper understanding….I will use my God given authority, which is always based in His Word; and boldly proclaim …OH NO.. Not This Time!

One day heartaches will be over -  But Today we have God’s COMFORT,

One day pain will be no more, TODAY God is saying My GRACE is sufficient,

One day there will be no more burdens, but TODAY we have His Strength,

One day I will possess everything that I need, but TODAY Live by Faith,

One day I will understand EVERYTHING… BUT TODAY I TRUST His actions!

Yes.. Prayer is the KEY…Faith unlocks the door….But UNDERSTANDING will OPEN that door and allow me to tell the enemy… OH NO, NOT THIS TIME!

It's Never Too Late

It’s Never Too Late!

Life can be compared to a strategic game that requires its players at certain points, to make moves that cannot be changed.  One decisive rule that we must remember in this game is this: although we may not maintain the ability to alter the moves; we can always change the results.

This concept is mirrored in many instances throughout the Bible.  As we read and glean wisdom, strength and encouragement; we can see that no matter what the circumstances or the situations that the people of God were confronted with – God always showed them that they still had – one more move.

So as you continue to participate in the game of life, always remember that; “It ain’t over til God says it’s over”.  No matter what you’ve done in your past, if you: trust in God, make an about face, and begin to do things His way, instead of leaning to your own understanding – He can rectify, repair, resolve, amend and correct anything. (Proverbs 3:5 & II Chronicles 7:14)

Another very important fact to remember in this game called life is this: “We have the power to limit the manifestation of God’s desire to change things for our good”.  In other words, because God has given to us the place of dominion and authority on this earth, He will not override that decision.  That’s why He has told US that: death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21); He has told US to speak forth those things which be not.., (Romans 4:17); He has told US - I set before you this day life and death ….  (Deuteronomy 30:19); He has told US - No good thing will I withhold… (Psalm 84:11); e has told USH He has told US to – put on the whole armor …. (Ephesians 6:11-13) etc., etc.  – So, He is saying SPEAK it, and I’ve got your back!  He is saying, “You may have decided to make a wrong move – but I’ve allotted you the opportunity to cause that wrong move to work in your favor.” (Romans 8:28)

So remember that this game of life has many players but very few winners.  Why?  Because most people don’t realize …..that, our battle has already been won… and most importantly ……you always have at least one more move……..Therefore…… “It’s Never Too Late”!

Ungodly Fear Steals Our Tme

Ungodly Fear Steals Our Time

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

 II Timothy 1:7

One of the most valuable tools that we as warriors have at our disposal is time. Strategies and strategic maneuvers are only effective when implemented at their correct timing. On more occasions than we realize, ungodly fear is the underlying culprit for both our delays and our hasty decisions.

In this season, we must stay alert in the realm of the spirit so that we can first recognize this spirit of fear and then uproot it. We must not become distracted with “important – unimportant” issues. A sharpened discernment is required if we are going to be effective against this current move of the enemy on our family members, our young people, our friends…. and everyone that we are concerned about.

As the end of time as we now know it rapidly approaches, we must understand that various demonic spirits will mask themselves as never before.  For example, we must recognize that the reason that many of our young people are dishonoring their bodies with the various markings and piercings is because they battling with the spirits of rejection and of course “fear”.  They are looking for a sense of “belonging”; and they fear not being accepted.

However, we must be able to discern these and other end-time moves of the enemy. This type of discernment is only released in us as we completely surrender our minds unto the Lord for renewal as we have never done before.  We must learn to operate in a spirit of total and instant obedience to the voice of the Lord. This type of obedience is produced by love and discipline – not fear;  and is vital.   This type of obedience also produces in us a sense of “readiness” which prepares us to be more “pro” active… instead of “re” active!

I also hear the Lord saying that now it is of the utmost importance that seasoned warriors maintain an alertness in their spirits that can only be produced by a disciplined ear - disciplined to hear my voice said the Lord - even when I don't speak!

So value your time and your timing.  Your adversary will attempt to cause you waste time in the realm of the spirit by placing emergency situations in your presence. These will attempt to alarm you to the point that you will lose your focus; thus opening the doorway for the spirit of fear to re-enter.  Warriors! You must know that you are only to respond to any situation, as you are led by the spirit of the Lord - especially when a "crisis" arises. The Lord is saying that we must remember although events may startle us and surprise us; He has already known about them before the foundation of this world! So don't waste time by becoming entangled with “last minute” situations and circumstances.   Stay so connected to the Lord that you will recognize the warning signs that He gives to you prior to the onset of tragedies, crisis  and the like.   Many of these are only coming to you as a distraction in an attempt to cause you to momentary divert your attention - thus causing you to miss your strategically planned timing.

Learn to recognize ungodly fear.  Locate its access.  Then aggressively advance to eradicate it; to seal its entrance; and to replace that spirit with the power and the authority of God.

As always, stay focused and refuse to be victimized and to waste valuable time; by any invasion of ungodly fear.

“… After all, we don’t want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief - we’re not oblivious to his sly ways!”             II Corinthians 2:11 (The Message Bible)

Brokenness = Maturity

Brokenness = Maturity

My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; ……. Psalm 51:17

Simply put….God desires to take you to an added dimension in Him; however you are still lacking the maturity that occurs as the result of a totally broken spirit before the Lord.

When we refer to various Biblical patriarchs we can observe that they all had to experience a season of brokenness prior to being used mightily for the Lord.  One of the keys to brokenness is to place the flesh under subjection through fasting.

In our modern culture here in America, we have expanded the concept of fasting to incorporate the meaning of “the abstinence of”……whatever. We are, in many instances not referring to food; but abstaining from various activities, mindsets and behavioral patterns.

When we refer to the Hebrew word used in the Bible for fasting, TSOM (pronounced ts-oom), it means to cover the mouth.  Then the Greek word, nesteia (pronounced nace-ty-oo), means to abstain from food.  So we could conclude that both the Old and New Testaments place the emphasis on “food”.

Could the reason why true brokenness hasn’t occurred be that we’ve attempted to alter its original definition?  Could it be that we have replaced instead of enhancing?  Without regards to any additional concepts – fasting must; according to the Biblical definitions; at some point include an abstaining from food.

God needs us to be totally free IN Him – to be totally used OF Him.  He needs and is requiring of us a deeper relationship WITH Him.  He is requiring that our minds operate from a level of maturity which is representative of one who is broken from any and everything that doesn’t resemble Him.

Consider these types of fast as you deepen your relationship with the Lord.

Elijah’s Fast – I Kings 19

Widow’s Fast – I Kings 17:8-16

Paul’s Fast – Acts 9:9

Daniel’s Fast – Daniel 1:8-14; 10:3

John’s Fast – John 1:6 &7

Esther’s Fast – Esther 4

This IS the season of breakthrough.  God has broken through, broken out and broken up everything in the realm of the spirit that has been a bondage, a noose or an anchor.  He has broken through diabolical plots and plans.  He has cleared the atmosphere of every lingering spirit that has once held us captive.

Now we must do our part.  We must align, renew and fortify the spirits of our minds; thus permitting them to become broken; and now mature enough to reap supernaturally all of the benefits which we now possess.  An immature unbroken spirit will not have the ability to advance in this new dimension.  God has begun to shower those who are ready; who are mature enough to reap this harvest.   However many will not even have the maturity to be able to comprehend or to understand fully this move of God.

In this season maturity is the key.  God needs to use YOU to do great exploits….. but you still need to obtain a level of maturity that only true brokenness has birthed!

God's Assurance

God’s Assurance

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”  Hebrews 10:22

We can always excel in every area of our lives.  This is possible once we become certain and assured of who God is.  Sometimes we seem to forget that once we are assured of our status with God – we can’t fail in anything that we endeavor to accomplish.

This prayer of Assurance can assist us to continually affirm the dependence that we have in our confidence in Him.

Prayer of Assurance ©2003

 L

ord God, I thank you for the spirit of assurance.  Your word verifies that true assurance in you is the attribute that will permit me to overcome every obstacle in these last days.

A full blessed assurance in you validates the fact that because of your sovereign love for me - nothing, nothing, No Thing - that occurs today in my life will cause a detour in your divine will for me.  My assurance, my firm conviction in you mandates that I exercise my blood bought authority this day, to walk above the circumstances of life.  I will never again release from my mouth that I am under, beneath or a victim to my present world conditions.

Your word assures me and reveals to me who you are, your very nature.  Your word   reveals to me that the things seen are temporal; moveable, mutable, unable to withstand, and subject to environmental conformation.  Therefore, I am assured, that as I absorb, soak up and permit only your word to infiltrate my spirit - then and then only will I have the ability to rise above and remain above my circumstances.

My assurance in you decrees that I will not leave this life prematurely.  My assurance in you decrees that I have the ability now to stand in the midst of adversity and command your presence to prevail.

I thank you for your assurance that I AM a “King’s Kid”; your heir, and a joint heir with Christ.  I am of a royal priesthood, divinely anointed and appointed for this time - groomed and adorned by you, Lord God; totally for you Lord.

I am assured that I can only excel…...  It is because of this assurance that I know I can never, never, never be defeated.

   Hallelujah!!  Thank You Lord!!!
