Be Comfortable With Who You Are!
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
On yesterday, the Lord used Pastor Veronica Hinton to deliver a powerful message to her congregants. The concept presented was the fact that I’m different, but I’m okay!
The only chance that we have for survival today and in the days ahead is to embrace our uniqueness. Far too often we are attempting to adhere to the ideologies, precepts and examples of those who have not the relationship with the Lord that we have developed. Every experience and life challenge that I’ve endured - even prior to my existence in this realm, has fashioned me to be who I am today.
The word “okay” in this instance doesn’t imply a mediocre subordinate status. It means that a stamp of approval has been obtained.
Therefore, I don’t see through your eyes – BUT, I’m okay,
My relationship with the Lord is MY relationship - BUT, I’m okay,
You may not understand my expressions of worship – BUT, I’m okay.
My degree of discipline may seem extreme – BUT, I’m okay.
My expectations may appear be extraordinary (and they are!!!) – BUT, I’m okay.
We must always remember that we are fearfully and wonderfully made – in the image and likeness of Almighty God. Soooo, as long as God, who created me to be different… receives and embraces my allegiance to Him; I need not to attempt to stifle, suppress, or conceal anything that the Lord receives.
I AM the square peg, that will never comfortably fit into the round hole… and I’ve learned that my difference, my individuality has been given to me from the Lord. I may be different BUT….I’m okay!
