Don’t Forget!
And she made a vow, saying, “ Lord Almighty, if you will,…… then I will …..”
I Samuel 1:11
The Bible has an array of illustrations regarding people who have asked the Lord for something in a time of distress or great demand; vowing to give Him something in return for His favor. Far too often when we feel as though we are in a dire or desperate situation, sensibility isn’t weighed – and…. If we aren’t focused….. we will pledge to practically anything. Then, when we begin to “see the light at the end of the tunnel…” we will realize the magnitude or the in-depth nature of the commitment. That’s when people begin to renege on their pledge. However we must realize that a vow is a vow; a pledge is a pledge.
God never, ever forgets His promises to us. Whatever He has promised will be manifested. People everywhere are now beginning to attest to this …as God has begun to turn the tables in our favor. God is now allowing us to receive as soon as – or before we sow (Amos 9:13)! He is returning to us all that has been: stolen, misappropriated, swindled, or even lost through our own ignorance (Joel 2:25). The day of restoration IS finally here! Hallelujah!
However, let’s not forget the vows that we’ve made to the Lord during our winter season. It doesn’t matter the type of opposition that you’ve encountered. The opposition may have been spiritual, emotional, financial or physical. It doesn’t matter. Every vow that we’ve uttered unto the Lord must be kept ( unless He has released you from it.. which is extremely rare!).
So as the favor of the Lord brings forth the manifestation of wealth, riches and abundance ….. in every area:
Don’t forget to maintain your focus by studying your Word and spending time with the Lord… don’t get distracted!
Don’t forget to pay your tithes & offerings ( increasing both!)
Don’t forget to allow humility be your cloak,
Don’t forget to be a giver, but use wisdom in your giving.
Don’t forget that God has blessed you so that you in return have now obtained that ability to bless someone else.
Lastly, don’t forget to make good on your promise to the Lord – without regards to its difficulty or inconvenience. Whatever it was… “Just Do It”!
“When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.” Ecclesiastes 5:4 ESV
“If you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin”. Deuteronomy 23:21 ESV
