Hebrew 12:2;
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of throne of God.
Looking here means "fixing one's eyes trustingly”. We need to consistently focus on Christ instead of our own circumstances; finisher: Christ has done everything necessary for us to endure in our faith. He is our example and model, for He focused on the joy that was set before Him. His attention was not on the agonies of the Cross, but on the Crown, not on the Suffering, but the Reward.
If we are made in the “image and likeness” (Gen.1:26); plus Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12) And “all mine are thine, and thine are mine, and I am glorified in them” (John 17:10). (that just to say the least)
Whatever God has planted in us to birth forth, NOW is the Time, we must know that we are covered, equipped, justified, and we must walk in the “Maturity” of that call. I thank God for His word. I am walking in the “HEARER & DOER” of the word; “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves”. It is important to know what God’s Word says; however it just as important to obey it. No longer sitting back, backing up, actually getting off the benches and putting what God has given to “WORK”.
