And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines Judges 13:1-5.
The fifth verse states that the child shall be a Nazarite. Nazarites had to follow a strict code of ethics. Which meant whatever God had planned for their lives were certain things that they could and could not do. Violating these rules would tamper with the call of God that was upon their lives. This is the same for EVERY person that have been sanctified, set apart for God's use. We cannot do everything we want to do. We cannot follow after the world's way of doing things. We cannot go everywhere we think we are big enough to go. We should ALWAYS be led by the Spirit of God! The Holy Spirit will ALWAYS lead you in the way of truth and holiness.
Samson lost his EYESIGHT long before he actually lost his EYESIGHT. When he laid his eyes upon Delilah, he became blinded to the purpose by which he was called to. You should really read the entire story in Judges chapters 14-16. What caused Samson to lose his eyesight was the fact he allowed his eyesight to kill and destroy his INSIGHT. When we concentrate upon worldly and fleshly things instead of meditating upon the Word of God, we are slowly loosing strength. The moment you take your eyes off Jesus and placed them anywhere else, you will begin to sink, loose strength. Samson allowed a woman who may have been his physical desire and his physical type, and not realize her character was deadly to his soul to enter into his life. Take a close look at this man. His future was already mapped out for him by God. All he had to do was RESPECT the will and the call God laid out for his life! WILL YOU RESPECT THE WILL OF GOD AND THE CALL OF GOD UPON YOUR LIFE?

Don't ever be afraid or discouraged, "Joshua said to the men." "Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is going to do this to all of your enemies." With that, Joshua plunged his sword into each of the five kings, killing them. He then hanged them on five trees until evening. As the sun was going down, Joshua instructed that their bodies be taken down and thrown into the cave where they had been hiding; and a great pile of stones was placed at the mouth of the cave. (The pile is still there today.) Joshua 10:25-27
