Lord, I’m Patiently Waiting….BUT HURRY UP!

Read Psalm 141

There are several times in our lives when we think that we are in need of the Lord’s instant intervention.  Often, these times occur without a warning or advanced notice.  Times when we are inclined to feel that if the Lord does not “move” NOW, the outcome of the current situation will be totally unfavorable.

It is in these times that we must rely on our knowledge of and our past experiences with the Lord.  It is in these situations that we must regain our focus and come to the awareness that the Lord IS yet still in control.

So, as we await for the interception of the Lord, as we wait for Him to alter the conditions…what are we to do?  We must come to the consciousness, that usually the Lord is delaying His interception in an attempt to get our attention.

Patience, synonymous with peace, is a condition of our minds.  When we are secure with the stability of the genuine, authentic love of the Lord, we will no longer “wring our hands” while waiting on the Lord.  We must remember that our faith walk is definitely a WALK – not a jog or a run.

David was a man after God’s own heart, yet there were times when he missed the mark.  We also must remember in times of seemingly overwhelming distress, turmoil, emergency circumstances, etc. …. Our loving God is still moving on our behalf to perfect EVERYTHING that concerns us.

At the close of Psalm 141, David collects his thoughts and remembers the power and the authority of the Lord.  The sooner we refocus our thoughts in the times of distress, calamity and the like – the sooner we will realize that the delay in the Lord’s response is truly for our betterment.  As we mature in the Lord, we will not request Him to hurry – but we will rest in, and appreciate the delay in His actions….knowing that His actions are exhibited in, and an expression of His wisdom.
