NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

…… if they pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again.”     2 Chronicles 7:14 (GNT)

This year as we gather, we can reflect on the fact that our prayers will be quite different.  Simply because we have undergone a year where we as a nation, have collectively experienced a global catastrophe; we will enter into His presence with grateful hearts and uplifted spirits.  We can all attest to the fact that the faithfulness of God has once again sustained us! HALELUJAH!!  We will on this National Day of Prayer, offer prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord for allowing US to yet remain victorious…through it all!!!

Also, as we, the people of God all over our nation prepare to collectively petition the face of Almighty God; we must always remain cognizant of the fact that we are called to one main “office” in the body of Christ.  This bears not upon the individual gifting(s) that the Lord may have placed within us.  This is without regards to any type of ordination, consecration or celebration that we may have been privy to receive.  This one office that the Lord has mandated each one of His children to is the office of a SERVANT!  We are never to forget that the Lord has called us first and foremost - to SERVE!

So, on this National Day of Prayer, prior to interceding for my families (Spiritual & Natural), my community, my judicial system and everything that is of grave importance; I must FIRST ask the Lord to further equip me the be that “profitable servant”.  I must realize that until I enhance my “Servanthood Mentality” – everything else that I utter will not have the undertone of Agape Love …. And become as a sounding brass or a tingling cymbal.

Let’s pray the prayer below - in all sincerity; asking the Lord to used us as never before to become His “Bona Fide” Servant.  Let’s be more determine to seize every opportunity to SERVE prior than to be served.  As we do so, we will discover that an added dimension has been released within our Prayer Life and above all…we will continue to outwit the enemy on every hand!

Servanthood Prayer Those Who Lead © 2003

(And Potential Leaders)

Father God I thank you for the opportunity to be used of the Holy Spirit to minister to your people......

Therefore, I have come to the realization that if I am to lead effectively, I must first become a servant.  I will therefore refine my servanthood mentality to the utmost.

As I seek to obtain a more in-depth perception of those whom you have given me to serve, may I continue to curtail or “redirect” my fortitude, and submit to the spirit of humility that is required of me to serve.

Lord, I realize the mandate on my life to constantly cultivate every area of my being.  I will never permit pride to mask its self in my life, thus enabling me to become nonchalant, self-satisfied, or complacent in my relationship with you.

You require Excellence.  Not perfection; but rather that I operate from a mindset of brilliance and superiority; yet never headiness.   I therefore decree to align every aspect of my life to display the same.  I will continue to press into your sovereignty.  I will lead with integrity, with expectation and with dedication.  I am a faithful and obedient steward over all that you have positioned in my charge.

Daily may I continue to realize that I must strive, with my entire being to love the unlovable, teach the unteachable, and reach the unreachable. Then will I possess the qualities displayed by Christ, and have at my disposal the mentality to serve all men to the highest.

This is your servant’s prayer….. decreed and declared in the name of Jesus – the chief servant; Amen.
