Open my Eyes…Illumine Me
“ Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” Psalm 119:18
Sometimes we permit our vision to become narrowed. We develop a “tunnel vision” and refuse to permit our horizon to be expanded. While there are guidelines to which we must adhere; we must make certain that we are not establishing “traditional boundaries” to the which, God has freed us. Although we do need guidelines; we must make certain that the boundaries which we are establishing, are not those which will impose a bondage upon us.
So on today, we are going to ask the Lord to light up and enlighten our eyes so that we may see Him in every situation – the good and the ….. not as good. Ask Him to permit you to into and not upon situations. Ask Him to permit the Holy Ghost to illuminate the windows of your mind so that new revelations and a heightened horizon will now be available to you.
Begin to view everything through the eyes of wisdom. View everything through the eyes of your spirit. View everything from the perspective of being “a work in progress”; that will eventually prove to have been an asset to your spiritual growth. God has called you to view things differently. Dare to be different and to be that trend setter that the Lord has called you to be.
“Open my eyes, that I may see,
Glimpses of truth thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for thee,
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!”
