Profession But No Possession
“Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”. Matthew 7:21-23
In our world today we are walking in some of the greatest deceptions that the world has ever known. What the real dilemma is, is that the body of Christ is just as guilty as the non believers. Society has conditioned us to PROFESS what we don’t POSSESS. Profession is what I say – Possession is what I have.
For example, we drive cars that we claim belong to us – but in all actuality… they don’t belong to us – they belong to the bank. So, we are professing without possessing.
We live in homes – that we claim are ours…. But we really can’t rightfully place ownership on them until the financial obligations have been fully satisfied.
What about the credit cards? Imaginary money! – Profession but no Possession.
In the economic system, and in our everyday living; we may be able to get away with Professing without Possession. But when it come God and our Spiritual realm that just
won’t work. God knows those who truly possess His power and authority. Our adversary knows. Therefore, the only presence of ignorance lies within our own soulish area.
Some people wonder why they are constantly succumbing to the negative consequences in life. It’s simply because they are Professing but not Possessing! Different day, different year, same issue? Profession but no Possession!
The Word of God makes it very plain.
Luke 6:46 “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? “
John 5:39 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:”
Titus 1:16 “They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.”
Soooo. How do we begin to Possess what we Profess?
- Permit your life to be in alignment with the Word of God.
- Be more concerned about pleasing God than people.
- Take a stand for God – and refuse to back down.
- Recognize the stronghold of fear that is prevalent in your life.
- Ask God for forgiveness, repent – and Be determined to align your profession with your possession!
