The Leopard’s Spots Will Never Change
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 ESV
In this season the Lord is reminding us that He has created visual objects to bring a correlation to the unseen objects. In other words, we can have a better comprehension of our Spiritual walk, which is unseen – when we can relate it to what we can physically observe.
There are some animals who by their nature, have the innate ability to have their physical appearance to change – depending upon their surroundings. For example, the chameleons. Wherever they are, they will blend into their surroundings.
However, the leopard, has the trademark that will identify them – regardless. They are spotted, and are known for their spots. We have often heard the statement, “A leopard can’t change its spots”. Now there are some leopards, whose spots are not as pronounced as others. Yet they are still leopards.
So in this season, we must be on guard for those leopards in our lives, who are not easily identifiable. The Bible refers to them as “wolves in sheep’s clothing”. There are people in our lives who have appeared to be authentic in their relationships with us, however, they can be compared to the Black Leopard. By its outward appearance, at first glance – this type might not be identified as a leopard. Nevertheless, its very nature is that of the leopard.
Spiritual leopards, silently maneuver with patience, intelligence, and precise timing. They are sent into our lives by the enemy to win our confidence, with intentions of totally devastating us when their true nature is exposed. There are some people whom we are connected to, who we have thought were sincere – simply because we were genuine in our actions towards them. However, now is the time to survey your relationships. Seek out the leopards. Stop carrying them. Alter the placement of their relationship in your life. Now is the season of exposure. People who have not reciprocated your God inspired actions towards them, just might be leopards – whose spots are not going to change!
