Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call." With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day (Acts 2:36-41 NIV).The name of Jesus calls us to repentance. It is by repentance, that God gives us a change of mind, and we are then able to ward off the temptations of the enemy. With Jesus dwelling in us, we are greater than any power at work in the world. I John 4:4 says, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world".In Philippians 2:9-11 we read, "God exalted him to the highest place and give him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father". THE NAME OF JESUS TRUMPS EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE!
