Vain Imagination

Narcissim and arrogance of the mind often lead believers into more dependence on self, education, good looks, intelligence, or the likes, than dependence on God. This is a trick of the enemy because without God we are nothing (See Genesis 8:21; Deuteronomy 29:19; 31:21).

Narcissim is a personality disorder which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe they are superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. They have an inordinate fascination with oneself, excessive self-love, and vanity. They think they are always right and has the urge to make you feel less than them. The term orignated from the Greek mythology, where the young Narcissus fell in love with his own image reflected in a pool of water.

Pray II Corinthians 10:4-6: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."
