We get many calls daily for single mothers in our organization, community, and other states, who need help with rent, electric, gas, cell phone bill, gas cards, food, shelter, and household items. This is truly a blessing to make an impact in these women lives. Help us raise money for these single mothers who have needs. There are many single mothers in our organization, and community. TrueNorth Heating & Housing Assistance programs and services strive to keep residents in safe and affordable housing, while working towards the goal of self-sufficiency.
First, please note that not every TrueNorth program is available in each county we serve. To find out if a specific program is available in your county of residence, please visit our Resource Search page to see what services are available to you. A link to Resource Search is provided on the right. If we do not provide a service you need, please call 2-1-1 or visit www.call-211.org to locate services in your area.
TrueNorth helps with heat and energy assistance through our emPower program. This program helps keep low-income families and seniors warm in their homes, including assistance with heat/utility bills, and energy conservation initiatives.
We also strive to help low-income families remain in their current housing or to acquire safer, more affordable housing by providing Housing Assistance with rent payments to prevent homelessness, or secure housing for those in crisis.
TrueNorth provides Emergency Shelter to individuals and families on a limited basis, while a more permanent housing plan is developed and enacted.
A fire often creates a crisis situation. We provide Emergency Fire Assistance by way of shelter, rental assistance or food.
We strive to provide Landlord and Tenant Education and Awareness, which is essential for successful landlord and tenant relations. Improved relationships are accomplished through workshops and counseling.
Each fall, we design and implement a Hunger & Homeless Awareness Campaign designed to educate our youth and adults about the issue of rural homelessness and food scarcity in Newaygo County and other communities on a limited basis.
