Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?—Isaiah 40:12
We must be concerned with the person and character of God, not the promises. Through promises we learn what God has willed to us, we learn what we may claim as our heritage, we learn how we should pray. But faith itself must rest on the character of God.
Is this difficult to see? Why are we not stressing this in our evangelical circles? Why are we afraid to declare that people in our churches must come to know God Himself? Why do we not tell them that they must get beyond the point of making God a lifeboat for their rescue or a ladder to get them out of a burning building? How can we help our people get over the idea that God exists just to help run their businesses or fly their airplanes?
God is not a railway porter who carries your suitcase and serves you. God is God. He made heaven and earth. He holds the world in His hand. He measures the dust of the earth in the balance. He spreads the sky out like a mantle. He is the great God Almighty. He is not your servant. He is your Father, and you are His child. He sits in heaven, and you are on the earth.

There are many, many reasons why the church (people) don’t teach the truth, and one is that they don’t know. Most of the church goes by “hearsay”. Just as I did until I came up to the truth. I had to come up and out of the “tradition and religious” places, that left me empty and I was not going to continue in an empty place. Most of the time scriptures are miss quoted, there are no understanding, and no one to share with them what truly thus said the Lord.
John 8:31 [The Truth Shall Make You Free] Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 15:26 [ The Coming Rejection] “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
2 Corinthians 11:10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no one shall stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
1 John 3:19 And by this we know that we are of the truth and shall assure our hearts before Him.
This is a quote from our reading “But faith itself must rest on the character of God”. The character of God is His truth, God Never Changes. God is Absolute Truth. God is All Powerful. God is Faithful. God is Holy. God is Ever-Present. God is Merciful. God is a Personal Spirit. God is Love. God Knows Everything.
God is omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence. We must develop a sense of study, a sense of research, instead of following up behind a word of gossip, a word of nosiness, a word of discord. My prayer is that we truly come I the knowledge of God’s character, his attributes and begin to apply them, through Jesus, from Jesus, and In Jesus.
