  • Unclean spirits feared Jesus because they knew he was GOD, and all power and authority belongs to him. Jesus told us, greater works we would do because he knew the Holy Spirit had not been released on the earth. After he ascended back into the heavens the Holy Spirit was released, he knows that being led by the Holy Spirit would give us the power we need to do even greater works than he did.
  • The unclean spirits knew who Jesus was. They knew the power and the authority over them. They knew he was the son of God... the unclean spirits knew they had no chance and knew Jesus was their for business and no games. His father gave him the power. He came down to spread the gospel and he planted a seed for us which was his spirit. Giving us his power and authority. Demons trampled when jesus walked I. The places.... now the lord is pouring hos spirit and a power like never before. So he can use us. To go out and be his disciples. To perform the things he did. Yet never to get the glory. So he can be seen and not man. Use us lord
  • Jesus's very presence was understood by unclean spirits you could sense the authority and power he had in him. Jesus walked daily with the whole armor of God many followed him because of his faith, miracles, and power. Jesus was true everything the unclean spirits feared so they coward before him.

At that time just like in this time great works was needed and so necessary. There were masses that needed to be saved great masses. How would the people believe if there was no great work. If there were no miracles nor Word of knowledge and wisdom. How would the people believe if they didn't see the walk of Jesus and his disciples the free work they did for all people and all lands. There were multitudes that needed to be saved that is what he meant by great works. The total salvation and faith of the multitudes.

  • Unclean spirits feared Jesus because they knew from where he came. Jesus spoke with Power and Authority and he did not let the demons speak.  He told many not to speak but they could not be contained regarding their healing or deliverance.  This set the stage for Jesus to speak the word and many would believe.

Jesus taught and mentioned the secret (The Farmer sows the Word, other hear the word and except and produce a crop up to 100'x what is given.  We must consider carefully what we hear.....The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed.....We must have faith  and authority over evil spirits.  Do not be ashamed of Jesus. Jesus mentioned that the disciples did not believe. Jesus rebuked the spirit and commanded him to come out he taught his disciples about prayer we must be servants to all.

The greater works do not mean believers will do more works than Jesus, but that they will do works qualitatively better than those Jesus did in his ministry. These better works are due to the outpouring of the Spirit after Jesus' ascension

  • The spirits knew who Jesus was, just as He knew who they were. God wants to reveal more to us as well but there some revelations that only come by fasting and praying. Faith. He was confident in who he was and what he was called to do. Having faith in God,knowing who you are, and your God given assignment, releases the authority and power to be effective. Jesus was sure of, not just himself, but the Father who sent Him. Just like he mentioned to Thomas of those who have not seen Him, yet we trust Him. That greater faith shall produce those greater works.
  • Authority and power will always be recognized even if it's not respected. It's like darkness(demons) will always recognize the Light. This is why these demons feared Jesus. Feared him not out of respect/reverence for Him but feared Him because they would loose their position/power. Like the bible says it's the unlawful the fears the law. Why? Because the law has the power to arrest them and to stop them from operating.
That's why Jesus spoke greater works we would do. Everything He did we would do multiply times. Greater works not meaning we will do miracles, signs, and wonders better then Him but that we would do more because we would have more time and opportunities. We have the sane power and authority he has.
  • The unclean spirits feared Jesus because he had all power, and authority over them.  When Jesus said greater works shall we do means exactly what he said.  Greater works will we do.  We are Gods witness.  We have been given authority to cast out demons and to heal the sick.  Greater is he who is in you then he that is in the world. What so ever we ask unto the Father in Jesus name; my Father who art in heaven will do it.  I believe God.  I believe that the son of God can not, and will not lie.

  • Mother Shirley the day you responded to this lesson was my birthday12/17/2013!  Wow what powerful story, and day.

    Mother Shirley Lee said:

Praise God Pastor LaShawn (3D) Davis spoke the words from my mouth that I would have said. She answered the questions just as I would have answered them, verbatim (word for word).  Pastor TraShawn Love -Williams also was very precise with her response. As well as others, Sister Kira Hatcher, Sister Jennifer Scott, and Pastor Shaloria Mitchell, all mothers precious daughters of Zion. So may mother please add a little food for thought. The most important thing you have going for you in both sets of relationship is "that you already have a relational bridge." Your friends and family knew what your life was like before you met Christ. Now they will have the chance to see you afterward. In (Mark 5:1-5) our lesson... and (6-20) Jesus recognized this was the case with the man he just had cleansed from demon possessions. So he sent him back home. We are Christ's hand picked representative, His Ambassadors. If people want to know what God is like, all they have to do is look at us. God does not expect us to be perfect, but He does expect our faith to grow. (Rom.10:17) and He expects us to try to live more like Jesus. (Rom.12:1-2). The people around you will be able to relate to your progress not to your perfection, Progress might be slow at first, but eventually, as you give areas of your life to Christ's control, changes will become noticeable. When this happens you may notice others starting to ask questions about your new faith. Don't worry, you may feel inadequate about answering some of their questions, our responsibility is to share what God has done for us and what we have learned. Not to be a Bible expert. Sharing and living our faith, and maturing in the faith is as important as being a Bible scholar. God is not limited by our lack of knowledge. Though Christians sometimes face unique hardship. Jesus knows that as with the Gaderene demonic, your changed life may have much greater impact on those with whom you have relational bridges already built than a stranger. Demons know who Jesus is the creator and the destroyer of everything that is, and ever will be in heaven and on earth. With fear and trembling they respect Him. The greater works is not the quality but as was stated the quantity. And this changing world is waxing worse than that in the biblical days. Jesus ministry was only 3 1/2 years, He sent His HOLY SPIRIT back to empower, equip, and enable all man kind that believes in His finished work on Calvary, His death, burial, and resurrection, and who are obedient to His will, His word and His way to continue spreading the truth, The Gospel of deliverance, salvation, and Eternal life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and our Redeemer. Mother: Pastor Shirley Lee

  • Demons know Jesus has come to earth from heaven.  They also seem to know exactly who He is–”the Holy One of God” and “the Son of God” respectively.  “Holy One of God” is a title never used to describe prophetic figures or angels, rather it is used of the LORD (Jeremiah 50:29; Isaiah 30:11).  Thus “Holy One of God” highlights Jesus’ God-nature–for who is holy but God alone (1 Sam. 2:2).  In both instances, the demons fear Jesus, were Jesus came in contact with them.  In Mark 1:24, there is one demon asking Jesus, “Have you come to destroy us?”  Obvious there is more than one demon.  This demon knows enough of who Jesus is as “the Holy One of God” to know that He has the power to destroy the entire demonic order–he seems to know that Jesus could destroy all demons (Gen. 3:15)!  In Mark 8:29, these demons know of a future appointed time when the demons would face torment (Jude 1:6; Rev. 20:6-10; 1 John 3:8)–they also understand Jesus to be the source of that torment–the understand Him to be the great eschatological judge (Rev. 19:15)!

Jesus cast out demons because he came “to seek and save the lost” and to reclaim the world from its false ruler!  In casting out demons he shows that He is the messiah promised in Gen. 3:15 come to crush the head of serpent.  Also Jesus going to the cross “disarm” the entire demonic order (Col. 2:15) making them powerless over the children of His kingdom. Though this world has fallen, Jesus came to redeem it and defeat its false rulers!  Indeed Jesus came to show His love for sinners by dying on the cross for them but more than that, He established His kingdom in the hearts of believers by paying the penalty for all who would believe. What the demons say about Jesus ought to cause us to check our own hearts because apparently you can know a great deal about Jesus and still hate Him.  To know who Jesus is and hate Him is demonic.  If you know who Jesus is and have put your trust in Him, you will love Him and work to spread His kingdom! In trusting in Him, we become a part of this new kingdom and will reign with Him forever!

  • Unclean spirits feared Jesus because he had all power in his hands in all the earth and heaven, he had all authority. When Jesus said greater works shall we do; I believe he meant that we are going to declare his word with accuracy and with boldness, we are going to lay hands on the sick and they will recover, the lame will get up and walk, the blind will recover their sight, all manner of sickness and diseases will be healed, demon are going to be cast out in the name of Jesus, we are going to be able to lay hands on the dead and they will rise out of the grave, see events and incidents before it happen, prophets to speak a word of knowledge into the people life to bring about a positive change or to give confirmation on something coming to pass. Men and women of God building up the church and adding it daily, making sure his people is equipped with the word of God.
