Revelational Definitions

Eschatology:

Eschatology comes from eschatos, meaning "last, utmost, or extreme," and the word logos, meaning "word." Eschatology means the last word, or a study of last things.

   The Apocalypse:

Apocalypse is from the Greek word apokalupsis, meaning "to uncover or unveil what is hidden." It is the Greek name given for the book of Revelation, which was a vision given to the apostle John. The book was originally written in Greek.

   Apocalyptic Literature:

Both Jewish and Christian is filled with apocalyptic literature. Some literature is called pseudepigrapha, defined as literature written by someone else who attributed authorship to a holy man or prophet. Apocalyptic literature consists of both Biblical and non-Biblical books.

Jewish Literature                                                 Christian Bible and Tradition

Book of Enoch                                                     Book of Revelation

Book of Jubilees                                                  Book of Daniel

Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs                       Books of Ezekiel, Isaiah, Zechariah, etc.

The Sibylline Oracles                                            Book of Enoch

Book of Jasher                                                    The Shepherd of Hermes

   Ascension of Moses                                              The Didache

Note: The Bible is the only source of true inspiration ( II Timothy 3:16 and II Peter 1:21).

  • As I am going through this wonderful journey of life and life with God and more abundantly; I am noticing and taking some into consideration a vast difference in the learning techniques, which allows me to gain the knowledge of the Word of God. I truly want God to give me the wisdom and the knowledge of his word along with understanding. With this it will allow a greater understanding; as in our reading gave us a scripture in 2 Timothy 3:16 (AMP)

16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]. I pray that we as a people of God and a LeaderShifter that we begin to research out varies of knowledge that will take us further in the Word of God, more than one way.
