King Saul: An Unstable Leader
There are many believers who find themselves under unstable leaders. King Saul is an example of an unstable leader. he was anointed, yet he had serious issues that manifested after he became king.
Saul loved David and then became jealous of him. Saul was unstable and often manifested two personalities.
1 Samuel 16:21
And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly, and he became his armourbearer.
1 Samuel 18:7-9
And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?
And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
Saul was rebellious and stubborn.
1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
Saul was tormented and tried to murder David.
1 Samuel 19:9-10
And the evil spirit from the Lord was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin: but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
Saul put all the wizards out of the land, and later consulted with one. This is an example of double-mindedness.
1 Samuel 28:9
And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
Saul acknowledged that David would be king but later tried to kill him again, even after David spared his life. This again is a manifestation of double-mindedness and instability.
1 Samuel 24:20
And now, behold, I know well that thou shalt surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thine hand.
1 Samuel 26:21
Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.
Saul manifested spirits of depression, murder, hatred, rebellion, witchcraft, suicide, jealousy, rage, and rejection. These spirits operated in him although he was a leader. David had to flee for his life because of these spirits that controlled Saul. I encourage leaders to receive deliverance. Unstable leaders can do much hurt and damage to the saints. Those who have been hurt by unstable leaders also need to receive deliverance. God is able and willing to heal and deliver.

There are many believers who find themselves under unstable leaders. King Saul is an example of an unstable leader. he was anointed, yet he had serious issues that manifested after he became king. We are wondering why this is such an ongoing situation among leaders. We prayed and ask God. He said that some start off with great enthusiasm, zeal, interested in actually hearing HIM. Then after a while when they begin to see His Manifestation come forth, sometimes “the chest” pump up and out, then move into a place that’s it’s them that doing it all, rebellious come, and conviction is being ignored, getting paid begin to unfold, then they are blinded by “money”; the fear of Me (God) leaves, prayers, seeking begin to lack, take the place of “business” that which leads to functioning in a place of “self”. And We can’t do nothing without Him, absolutely nothing, but with Him Wholeheartedly we can do it all. What a teaching. We desire so in our hearts, to stay close, pay attention to the convictions, listen closely, stay humble, walk in obedience, take wisely counsel. My God, Desire More of God than any thing. Ne'EMEN...
Praise God, This is a powerful message about King Saul and David. Although King Saul tried to kill David, David not once retaliated against King Saul, but when the fullness of time came for David to become King nothing and no one could stop God from honoring King David....
unstable leaders
I can relate to this, I myself has been under such Leadership. I Have since then forgive them and pray that they get
Ask, Believe, and Receive. Ask God to deliver you, Believe that you have been delivered, and receive the blessing of the Lord.
Blessings and GE Platinum PRU Trailblazers, a lot of people think that is the reason why King Saul lost his kingdom, and the Lord rejected that he made him King. However, that is not the reason at all. The reason he lost everything because he did not obey God. God told him to kill all the Amalekites, and he did not listen and obey. Then when decided to consult the psychic instead of God, then wake up the Seer Samuel, that is another strike against him. Remember, in(1 Sam 3:19) it said none of Samuel words fell to the ground. Therefore, when he told King Saul, he would be there with him, it had to come to pass.
1 Samuel 15:20-25 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
20 Saul said to Samuel, Yes, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag king of Amalek and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
21 But the people took from the spoil sheep and oxen, the chief of the things to be utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.
22 Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim (household good luck images). Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.
24 And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.
25 Now, I pray you, pardon my sin and go back with me, that I may worship the Lord.
1 Chronicles 10:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
13 Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance, 14 and did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
That is why it is Vital that we obey the instructions of God, and listen to him, no matter what.
I would love to hear everyone input on this and your feedback. Let's have a panel discussion on this subject.
Amen I agree and I once was a saint hurt by a leader deliverance is the only wayy amen
Amen, reading about King Saul and King David was a powerful story. First, it addresses how one who is anointed could lose their anointing due to fear, jealousy and envy. Second, we see that as God's anointed, we step outside of the will of God or fail to do God's will and he removes us from our appointed position, since we became arrogant and walked in disobedience and rebellion. Lastly, we are to nurture and uplift those God have assigned to us instead of being doubleminded, rebellious, fearful, arrogant and thinking one is God and knows better then God. We have to make sure if we are acting like this to take a seat and allow Doctor Jesus to set us free. We need to be honest, because this is something we must recognize and immediately cast this out of our lives. When we see this in our leaders, we need to tell them what is actually attacking them along with the demons associated with fear. Amen
This is a great reminder that we should see the Lord's face and hear His voice when dealing with leaders and others. We have to learn to rebuke those thoughts that come against the Word of God. Great reading.
Wow this can be witnessed even now in our day and age. Yes, LORD please deliver and save your children
