God is Replenishing… Will You Retain?

Read - Deuteronomy 28:1-14

As the Lord begins to restore you to your wealthy place it is imperative that you have already made the proper preparations to maintain the same.  Planning, discipline and an open ear are a few of the essential tools that must be implemented.

(As a reminder, wealth is not limited to monetary increase or the gain of possessions in the physical realm.  We’ll discuss the subject of wealth at a later time.)

                                                             L'shanah tovah! (Happy New Year - 5783)

Rosh Hashanah – which is the celebration of the Jewish New Year begins at sundown tonight.  What time could be more appropriate then now to begin to write, amend or develop; (depending upon your individual level of spiritual maturity) and enhance your strategic maintenance plan.  This plan must incorporate the well-defined vision that the Lord has given to you concerning your destiny.   Your plans must satisfy the required steps which are needed for you to obtain your God given goals.  Statistics have verified that most of the people who are sudden advanced to a higher plateau don’t maintain that status mainly because they didn’t have a written plan that they could use as their guide.  (Refer to Habakkuk 2:2a)

Although some people have very well organized plans – they lack the discipline and the tenacity to adhere to their plans.  In order to change my disciplinary actions, I must change my approach – my mind must be renewed. (Refer to Romans 12:2)  Discipline requires renewal.  Many of us lack the discipline to stick to those tasks that go “against the grain”.  However, we must also realize that some of us would have advanced a little sooner, had we applied just a little more discipline throughout our lives, in the areas that were more significant.

Lastly we must fine tune our ability to hear the voice of the Lord. (Refer to John 10:27) Our ear must be open only to His guidance and direction.  Break that mold that causes you to think that our God is limited in His access to you.  When you know His voice, you will be able to recognize it without regarding the source from which it is being projected.   When you know His voice, and hear His voice, you must have a submissive spirit that will advance in “instant obedience” to His call.  When you know God’s voice, you must not waste time…Attempting to question His judgment.  An open ear to His voice will enable you to make the proper investments – those which WILL bring a profitable gain.

Yes… God has promised to return the years that: the locust, the canker worm, the caterpillar and the palmerworm have stolen (Refer to Joel 2:25).   This has already begun for many of us! However, as the return is restored to you – how are you going to keep it from being devoured?  One way is by remembering that it has now become your responsibility to be a good steward.  This entails the application of God given strategies.  The application of the same will usher in the assurance of keeping all that has been restored to you and assist you to maintain your position as; the head and not the tail …and above ALWAYS and never, ever beneath…. again!

(Note: By “keeping” we are not implying hoarding, becoming selfish or fear based saving. We must remain focused and use wisdom in the areas of our: time, gifts and talents.  Our ability to remain disciplined will prevent the opening of a door that would permit enemy access!)

“Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.”                                Proverbs 19:20   (ESV)

“Get To Steppin”… Because God Has Chosen U!

 Read: I Corinthians 12:14-28

Many times when we think about those who the Lord uses for and in ministry, we think that He only wants to use those who have certain qualifications.  We think that He wants those who: have made various educational accomplishments; have had extreme experiences; have eloquent speech or melodious voices, etc.   But I need to bring to your remembrance that, God Has chosen U!  So Get To Steppin…

You must remember that nothing you do or say surprises God. Before the foundation of this world – He established and placed in motion everything that you needed to be who He has called you to be.  The problem is, far too often, we have permitted the opinions of others and even sometimes our own opinions, to make us think that someone else is better equipped to fulfill a specific work for the Lord.

When must never forget that as the text implies God has given to each of us the gift that He knows will best suit us.  Everyone has at least one gift.

So, the next time you feel like God can’t use you; just refer to the list below.  Some of you have seen it before, but it serves as an excellent reminder to us that God can use whomever HE desires to use.  Now…. don’t use this list as an excuse to sin! However, just know that your struggles should not be the excuse for you to shun away from your calling.

Remember that:  Abraham thought that he was too old; Sarah mocked God and laughed at His promise; Isaac was a daydreamer; Jacob was a liar; Noah got drunk; Leah had a physical imfirminity; Joseph was abused and he had a prison record; Moses stuttered; Gideon was afraid; Samson had long hair and was a womanizer; Rahab was a prostitute; Jeremiah and Timothy were both thought to be too young; David had an affair and was a murderer; Elijah was suicidal; Isaiah preached naked; Jonah ran from God; Naomi was a widow; Job went bankrupt; Peter denied Christ; The Disciples fell asleep while praying; Martha worried about everything; The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once; Zaccheus was too small; Paul was a boring, long winded preacher; Timothy had ulcers; Lazarus was dead and Peter had a quick temper!

Just as God used these people in Biblical times – He is using us today – REGARDLESS!  Now, remember, we are not to continue in the sins of our past or current lives – but we are never to allow the enemy to tell us that God can’t use us, because of our past or because of the struggles that we are still overcoming.

Romans 5:8 reminds us of God’s love for us.  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. While we were yet sinners God decided to use us for His glory!  We are a team.   On a team, there are different members and each plays a different role. Individual team members can win trophies.   This is great.  However, we are working to win a championship.   Championships are only won by teams.  They are won when the team pulls together; everyone doing their assigned job; to the best of their ability.

So….you’ve got to get to steppin in your neighborhood; you’ve got to get to steppin on your job; you’ve got to get to steppin in your family; and above all…you’ve got to get to steppin in your own devotion and relationship with the Lord!

Lastly, you must remember and say; without the input of the gift that the Lord has given to me; my team will have difficulty and will not win its championship.  We are all working for the same common goal.  We are all on the same team….but without just one player, YOU… the championship can’t be awarded!  You are very much needed to assist your team of “born again believers” to uproot every diabolical plan of our adversary. Whatever gift that you possess, and the devil has made you think, that it isn’t really important – that very gift is the missing link!

Yes, God has called YOU….So Get To Steppin!!!!

It’s Your Temple…. It’s Your Responsibility

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”  I Corinthians 9:16

Sometimes we seem to forget that because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost, that we must be careful what we permit to enter this temple on every level.  Usually, we are cautious in regards to our spiritual intake.  We make certain that our spiritual diet is rich in content and we filter out everything that we feel would attempt to hinder our spiritual growth or stamina.

We have the spiritual aspect pretty well covered.  However, what about in the natural?   Are you doing your part to maintain your physical health as well?  We sometimes forget that the maintenance of our temples IS our responsibility.  While we can quote our confessions concerning divine healing and walking in good health – if we are not partaking of the proper food into our bodies – we are simply working against our confessions.  Many people think that if they are thin that they are healthy – not necessarily so.  Only the Holy Spirit or your physician can advise your concerns in that area.

Here in the USA we are about to enter what some are calling the flu season.  As with the recession; I have chosen not to participate!  However, I will move in wisdom to assure that I maintain a healthy diet - as to not give the enemy any access in the natural.   As many of you are aware of the fact that I wholeheartedly adhere to a daily regimen of various herbs and vitamins to maintain an effective and aggressive immune system.

I’m once again posting the list below which will be beneficial in the boosting of your immune system.  Remember your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost – therefore God expects YOU to keep it healthy.

7 Flu – Fighting Foods (by Niss Simon)

Tomatoes – Vitamin C rich.  Boost the body’s natural defense system in the same way as their citrusy relatives do.  One medium produces 40% of your daily vitamin C requirement.

Almonds- Rich source of the antioxidant vitamin E which helps to ward of viral infections.  To maximize absorption opt for chopped almonds, almond butter or almond oil.

Mushrooms – Heighten the body’s resistance to viral infections by increasing the natural killer cells.  Rich in selenium; low levels of this element have been linked with an increased risk of developing a more severe flu.

Tea – Green, black and oolong all contain naturally occurring compounds that reduce the risk of the flu.  They contain quercetin – a powerful antioxidant, and L-threonine, an amino acid found naturally only in tea.  Decaffeinated teas also contain the amino acid, but most herbal teas do not. (Note: For an added benefit I purchase tea that contains Matcha!)

Carrots – rich in beta-carotene; which the body uses to ward off respiratory infections.  Other good sources are dark green vegetables, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and winter squash.

Black –Eyed Peas – Rich in zinc. Pinto beans, peanuts, roasted pumpkin seeds and wheat germ are other good choices.

Yogurt – Probiotics, found in yogurt and other fermented foods strengthens the immune system.  Cottage cheese, kimchi, and sauerkraut will have the same affect.

Seven Healing Herbs and Spices to Boost the Immune System (by Kendra Lady)

Echinacea, Ginger, Turmeric, Elderberry, Garlic, Ginseng, Cinnamon

Let’s be more determine as we prepare for the upcoming winter season to truly live life from the inside out; and become more conscience concerning the total maintenance of our temple – Spiritually as well as Physically.

Remember…It’s Your Temple and its ENTIRE upkeep is YOUR responsibility!!!!

“But I discipline my body and keep it under control,……….”  I Corinthians 9:27

The Emotional Roller Coaster of Life

The Emotional Roller Coaster of Life

You cannot be spiritually mature if you are still emotionally immature!

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.  If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.          Phil 4:6-7  (Living Bible)

Here in America, we have places where people go for fun and relaxation.  One of these places is something called an amusement park.  This park doesn’t feature trees, flowers or grass.  The main attractions for these “parks” are the variety of machines that one can ride – just for fun.  One of these machines is called a roller coaster.

A roller coaster is an amusement park attraction that consists of a light railroad track with many tight turns and steep slopes, on which people ride in small fast open cars.  People enjoy them because they take you on an unpredictable, fast, trilling ride.

Our lives can be compared to an emotional roller coaster.   In life, we will all experience: highs, lows, unexpected sharp curves, unseen drops and times of uncertainty.

Life takes us through wild and unpredictable changes.  The enjoyable and pleasurable times don’t usually present a problem.  It is those times that are stormy, unstable, unsettled, explosive, full of conflict, of confusion, etc., when our emotions tend to be out of control.

Whatever circumstances we encounter, our emotions must remain under the subjection of the Holy Spirit.  Our emotions should not experience the dramatically changeable manner of a roller coaster.  (Emotions differ from feelings, which is a subject to be addressed at another time.)

Emotions cause us to react.  Emotions are the reactions that we experience in response to events or situations. The type of emotion thar a person displays is determined by the circumstance that triggers that emotion. For instance, a person experiences joy when they receive good news.  Whatever the trigger, all of our emotions must be brought under the subjection of the Holy Ghost.

So, because life is full of roller coaster experiences, we must know how to deal with our emotions.

How do we deal with our emotions as we “ride” the roller coasters in life?

  1. Manage our triggers.  For many people our roller coasters experiences reveal spirits of rejection, pride and self pity ….which are produced in anger!  (Proverbs 16:32, Ephesians 4: 26,27 - ESV)
  2. Know that God has given us control of our own spirits. However, it is then our responsibility to release that control to the Holy Spirit. (Proverbs 25:28; 29:11)
  1. Realizing that my opinion really is not important! We are reminded of this in 2 Corinthians 10:5b.

As with every roller coaster ride, at a predetermined time – the roller coaster will slow down, and the ride will end.  Therefore, as we remember our key verse, we will have the wisdom to successfully govern every emotion that we encounter – and continue to be an overcomer – REGARDLESS!

REMEMBER: You cannot be spiritually mature if you are still emotionally immature!

Seeds Must Be Broken

Seeds Must Be Broken

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.”   John 12:24 AMP

Some seeds are made to be sown by a method known as “broadcasting”; while others are made to be individually deposited into soil –“dibbling”. Nevertheless, as we examine a seed, we will discover various facts which are natural in the physical realm as well as in the spiritual realm. A seed is basically worthless until its outer shell has been broken.

First, let’s think briefly about the future potential of the seed.   It has been determined that one seed in the physical realm contains within its self the potential to nourish an entire nation. The same can be applicable in the realm of the spirit.

Next, the seed is supplied with an outer covering that protects the imminent productivity of the internal core.  It is not until the protective shell is broken - forced open from within that the true plant can begin to grow.  We also have within us an internal core; spiritual seed; a place from which productivity must stem.  However we must be broken from the inside and healed of our past (intimidations, fears, disappointments, rejections, etc.) in order to begin to be productive and advantageous.  As we are broken under the power of the Holy Ghost AND the submission of our will, the process can begin. It is then and only then that the effectiveness of the giftings and anointings - which are already residing and resonating within us, now be liberated….. permitted to grow, mature and to manifest to its full potential and capacity.  However, we must remember that brokenness must occur first. (Now, reread that paragraph until you fully understand the concept.)

Seeds vary in their intent and composition. As I previously stated; the method of sowing may differ, nevertheless seeds are worthless unless sown!  Any and every one can sow a seed – as well as receive a seed which has been sown.  We must always remain cognizant of the fact that not every seed that has been sown into our lives is required to “remain in our garden”.  We are all composed of different types of soil.  Therefore, the type of seeds which we are able to mature is dependent upon our own particularly composed blend of soil.  The composure of our soil will also determine which seeds will be received; as well as the planting procedure.

Without regards to the method of sowing; all seeds which are to remain will require the proper attention.  Nurturing is vital if they are to produce and yield a 100 fold and a 100% return (There is a difference.).

Many have been instructed very well in the area of sowing.  However, it is equally important that awareness is taught on the processes required for the “maintenance” of out seeds.   Just as seedlings are delicate in the physical realm and must be given the proper care – the same pertains to the realm of the Spirit.

How to “plant” should also be addressed. Planting requires the skill of one who is more knowledgeable.  While sowing is always highlighted, planting is just as relevant.

Yes, some seeds are to be sown, others planted, still others discarded.  We are all the carriers of seeds.  Symbolic of the natural garden; not all of our fruit will mature simultaneously, nor at the same time.  However given the proper care, the seeds which have been designated by the Lord within us – to advance to the level of maturity – will endure.

Seek the face of the Lord.  Weed out your spiritual garden.  Then be determined that you will permit your garden to produce the fruit that will remain.    Be prepared for the weeding process which will require a brokenness.

Remember: We must receive a “brokenness” prior to our ability to release a fullness!

“You fool, that which you sow is not made alive, except it die:” I Corinthians 15:36

Don’t Allow the Problem to Steal Your Peace!

Great peace have they which love thy law, and nothing shall offend them”

Nothing can entice them to sin – Nor can the sins of others cause them to fall.  Psalm 119:165

Our Christian walk is one that is very complex; possessing multifaceted combinations of ideas, concepts and percepts.   Therefore it is vital for every successful Christian to undergo a complete “makeover” if they are going to operate from the plateau that the Lord has decreed.  We must realize that we need to embrace a complete transformation beginning with our minds.  Now for some.. this was easier than for others.   Sadly to say, there are those who have been studying the word of God for many years; …and are still having difficulty with comprehending the plans, purposes and intent of God – simply because their minds remain carnal.

So… along this road as we journey towards our divine destiny; our minds must be freed from the mindsets that have been engrafted into us throughout our entire lives. We must now begin to uproot the “former things” and replaced with them with God’s decreed plan for success.  For example; We’ve been taught to think for ourselves and to use our own brains.  Now the Lord is telling us  – not to think for ourselves nor lean to our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). We’ve been taught to govern everything through our five senses.  But God tells us to trust and adhere to a force which operates outside of the perimeter of those senses (John 14:26) .  We’ve been taught to fear spirits and the like.  Now the Lord – whom we can’t see (John 4:24); is telling us to trust in the leadings and guiding of a Spirit. .. that we can’t see.  Also… we were taught to defend ourselves by avenging people for the wrongs done to us.  From childhood we were taught, “If somebody hits you…you BETTER hit them back.”  But the Lord said that vengeance belongs to him (Romans 12:19)

So, when we stop and really consider our present way of thinking; we can understand why our minds must be renewed.  We can truly understand that God’s ways are contrary to those that we have spent a lifetime adhering to.

Therefore, as we refer back to our subject for today ….We also must LEARN not to worry.  When we can finally grasp the concept of God’s love for us….we will understand that the problems in life are only problems when we view them from our old mindsets and from the point of not fully understanding who God is.  Remember: Nothing in our lives occurs without the knowledge and approval of God.  Now,  no…. God doesn’t send calamities and such….  But He will permit them and use them for His glory….( that’s another lesson for another time!)

So because God loves us, He has warned us that in this world we will have tribulations  - but the statement doesn’t end there.  It continues – but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world  (John 16:33).

Ok….so what is God saying?.. “Don’t allow your problem(s) to steal your   peace.”  We must always remember that we have an enemy who has one thing in mind – and that is to make us doubt and distrust what God has said.

The two words problem and peace are words that everyone can relate to.

But I need you to know that every problem that occurs in your life is preordained by the Lord to push you and enable you to understand and to walk in His peace.

Life is full of situations, which, if we are not alert in the realm of the spirit – will cause us to view them as problems instead of possibilities for God to manifest his peace.  The choice is yours.

How do we not allow the enemy to steal our peace?

  1. Daily renewing our mind with the word of God.
  2. Refusing to be confrontational to the extent that you are not operating in the realm of the spirit – Know who you are. (Matthew 5:25a)
  3. Reminding yourself that you are in a spiritual battle – that our war is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12).
  4. Rehearsing in your mind and out loud the promises of God (Psalm 1:2).
  5. Remembering…Whatever is dominate in your mind will rule – govern what you watching on TV, Listening to on your ipod, etc..? If I am constantly listening to, reading or watching the incorrect material, I might be opening the door to fear and allowing the negative opinions of others to cause me worry.

Peace – is a mindset.  As I’ve often said… It is not the absence of adverse situations  - but it is the mindset that ALL IS WELL… REGARDLESS!  So if I am walking in a lifestyle that is in accord with the Lord’s guidelines – I can claim the promises of God.  He has promised that I will ALWAYS prevail!

Just because the battle is intense…..Don’t allow the problem to steal your peace,

Just because the journey is long....Don’t allow the problem to steal your peace

Just because the road is lonely…Don’t allow the problem to steal your peace,

Just because it appears that things are not going to work out…. Don’t allow the problem to steal your peace…..

BECAUSE OUR GOD IS THE FAITHFUL GOD……

His peace will prevail…..if you demand and command it to do so!!!

Remember …..It’s A Process!

Remember …..It’s A Process!

“Despise not the day of small beginnings……”  Zechariah 4:10

One vital piece of information that we must remember is that mighty oak trees are birthed from tiny acorns; and an apple orchard was produced from one apple seed.   In other words, remember…it’s a process!

The embryotic stages of any living creature are vital and must be carefully guarded and protected.  This will make certain that its ability to reproduce once it reaches the stage of maturity, have been preserved and that it will then successfully reproduce.  Each stage of development is crucial.

Sometimes we tend to forget that ministry also has its stages of development.  We also forget that our spiritual walk has stages of development.  So don’t permit the spirit of abortion to have victory in your life or ministry. Remember:..  Every one of us is unique – therefore our journey will not be a carbon copy of anyone else’s.    We must learn the art of being confident in whom we are in the Lord; using only His plumb line as our guide.  Far too often we feel as though because our ministry or our spiritual walk is progressing slowly or not even showing any outward signs of progress – that we should just give up.  However, growth initiates from the inside out……. And… It’s a process.

When I was a school teacher, in our science class the children would plant seeds.  Sometimes they would want to throw the containers away when they didn’t see anything happening.  However, as they continued to care for the seeds, they would eventually see a tiny sprout coming out of the soil…. And the excitement would begin!  They would then be able to see the evidence of the work that was already taking place under the surface.  We as adults, many times seem to forget those simplistic lessons that we’ve learned as children.  We tend to forget that the visible manifestation of anything is secondary…. And that everything in life that is accomplished is manifested gradually …. EVERYTHING involves stages….. Life is a process.

Life is also a waiting game.  However, when we have ENDURED as a good soldier (2 Timothy 2:3) – we will reap the harvest.  God has promised that we will reap in DUE season - however, only if we don’t permit that spirit of abortion to be victorious (Galatians 6:9).   God CAN’T lie (Numbers 23:19).  Therefore learn to wait on the Lord (Psalm 27:14; Isaiah 40:31).

Remember… again I reiterate …. “It’s a Process”!  You must go THROUGH each stage of your process….because tomorrow’s success will stand tall on today’s perseverance!

“And let us not be weary in well doing, for in DUE SEASON we will reap, IF we faint not”. Galatians 6:9

The Spirit of Goliath

The Spirit of Goliath

“Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he defied the armies of the living God.”                     I Samuel 17:36

We, the body of Christ must continually be on guard for the endtime release of familiar spirits.  Although their approach may be enhanced or altered to reflect our current times – the underlying spirit is the same as before.  One of these is the spirit that I’ll call the spirit of Goliath.

This spirit will attempt to taunt, boast, and present an appearance of supreme rule over the body of Christ.  It will attempt to paralyze the body of Christ and to infiltrate our minds with fear, doubt and disbelief.  It will also attempt to challenge, mock and to belittle through repeated verbal proclamations.  Unless this spirit is recognized; we the endtime body of Christ will begin to become subject to and submissive to the boundaries which it will impose.   We are gradually beginning to be plagued by thoughts of hopelessness and the feelings of defeat and worry – simply because of the constant onset of negative harassment emulating from this spirit.

However, we have been already been given the “Ability & Authority” capsulized with the wisdom from the Holy Ghost, thus enabling us to conquer every demonic force (Matthew 10:1; Luke 10:19).  The power that engulfed David (I Samuel 17) and empowered him with the wisdom to defeat the lion and the bear had already prepared him to successfully stand and slay Goliath.  We also have defeated our lions (things that have attacked us from the ground) and our bears (attacks which have approached from above; spiritual wickedness in high places).  Therefore we have passed the test and are ready to kill this “Goliath Spirit” without hesitation.

Lastly, we must also remember that in this season, the attacks are geared more towards our minds than to any other areas of our being and our lives.  If this or any spirit – other than the Holy Spirit can intervene into our thought patterns for just a brief moment we risk defeat!

The attacks are just beginning and will become more intense in the future.  However we must never forget that– THE BATTLE HAS ALREADY BEEN WON!  We only have to remain focused, and adhere to our instructions from the Lord concerning the maintenance of our daily walk with Him.  Set your affections, your cares and your attentions more on the things which are above….  Above your present level of operating….Above what you currently think that you are capable of accomplishing… Above the opinions and stimulations of others! Take the limits off! (Colossians 3:2)

Remember that the sky isn’t the limit…you have no limit!  In this season, you can achieve MORE than anything that you can ask or think! (Ephesians 3:20) Refuse to become intimidated by anyone or anything.  You ARE more than a conqueror!  (Romans 8:37) So place everything that is contrary to what God has decreed, under the subjection of the power that reigns within you!

Slay that spirit of Goliath at its onset, maintain your focus, keep your affections on Kingdom Principles….and you won’t have to be overly concerned about succumbing to the power of this or any other demonic force.

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”  I Peter1:13 NASB

Virtues of Victory

Virtues of Victory

“…….. and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”   I John 5:4

What is victory?  How is it determined?  Listed below are some of the foundational concepts or the Virtues of Victory.

V – Vision - To be victorious I must have a vision; a mental image of my future state.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18

I -   Intensify – To intensify is to exhibit increase by: enhancing, strengthening and deepening.

Therefore to be victorious I must not cease to eagerly and powerfully intensify every

                   area of my life.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make

progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;  Jude 20

                  (AMP)

C -    Concentrate – To ponder; to muse; to deliberate.  Concentration requires an ability to

focus.  Victory is never accomplished by one who has loss their ability to maintain

                 their focus.

“And SET your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on

the things that are on the earth.”   Colossians 3:2

T -    Trust – Confidence or conviction.  To gain total victory, I must solidify my trust channels

                from the inside out.

“Don’t put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life.”

                   Psalm 146:3 (MSG).  Also  Proverbs 20:7; 3:5

O -   Opposition – Hostile or contrary action or condition.   Except the fact that there will always

be oppositions; some will edify, some will challenge and all which emanate from the

kingdom of darkness are sent to destroy.  However.. every opposition will produce

victory… if permitted to run its course!

“....In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the

                  world.” John 16:33

R –   Rules - No task in life is ever accomplished w/o abiding by the established guidelines.

To be victorious; I must know the rules….and obey them.

                   Romans 12:1-5 (ESV); Proverbs 4:7; Titus 3:1

Y -   Yoked -   Joined, fasten to, connected to.  To be victorious I must remain free of any restrictive

burden; and only become yoked to those things that will permit the furtherance of God’s

plan and purposes for my life.

“….Let us lay aside every weight..” Hebrews 12:1

We can also observe that the letter “Y” is the last letter in the word victory.  The shape of this letter reminds us of a fork in the road.  At the end of every victory – we stand at a fork in the road.  We have to make a decision.  We must decide whether to prepare for the next level and advance forward.... or to become satisfied with our present accomplishment and remain at that place.  The Lord always requires that we advance.   The ability to continually walk in a state of victory is achieved, when I decide to never become satisfied with my current achievements – but to always strive for an added dimension of greatness.

Paul explained it like this: “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13 & 14

So again I ask, “What are some of the virtues of VICTORY”?  The answer: The ability to expand my Vision; to aggressively Intensify every area of my life; to maintain my Concentration; to continually build and fortify my Trust channels; to expect Opposition, to obey the Rules and to be Yoked to Kingdom Principles!

HALLELUJAH!

I have obtained victory in several areas,

I am maintaining my victorious status,

And, I am aggressively dissecting the layers of my mind – freeing it of any residue that would prevent me from walking in TOTAL victory!

Enrich Yourself Through

Right Connections

Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.                       John 7:24 Amplified Version

As we search throughout the scriptures, we can observe that the relationships which people were involved in were of grave importance.  Therefore we must realize the significance of becoming associated with and connected to the right people.

Connections should be for the purpose of increase.  Therefore I should be either the provider (being an asset to someone’s life) or the receiver (reaping a benefit) – but increase is a must.  Wrong, non-productive relationships are considered one of those “weights which does so easily beset us” (Hebrews 12:1).

So let’s consider some of our connections.  What do our: friends, acquaintances, religious and secular group memberships reveal?  Are there any connections where I am currently not being increased – or increasing someone else?  Some connections are temporary; seasonal - while others maintain the ability to perpetually be an asset in some fashion.   When we don’t know the purpose for a relationship, nor have considered its nature – we will attempt to cling on to and transform those “passing connections” into permanent relationships.

We are in the era now where everyone seems to want to “network”. Everywhere you go people want to connect. This can be advantageous as well as detrimental.   We must be on our spiritual guard at all times and realize that every “good connection” may not be a “God connection”.

Then there are those connections that go “against the grain” of many in Christendom.  There may be times when the Lord will connect you to someone (s); involved in specific sins or unacceptable lifestyles… for the sake of assisting them to know Him. (Note: Don’t misunderstand! We are to NEVER become INVOLVED in anything that is contrary to the Word of God.  The Lord will NEVER lead you into any area where you will be tempted to sin or in an area where you have not been totally delivered.)

I would like to encourage you to listen to the voice of the Lord.  Far too often some Christians feel as though they too “holy” to be connected to or associated with various groups of people;  even for the sake of ministry.  My only response is this: If someone is in darkness, and you have a light, how can they come out of the darkness if you refuse to go to them and shine your light? Remember we are instructed to let our lights shine (Matthew 5:16).  How will they find the correct path out of their darkness?  The blind can’t lead the blind!  Now I’m not condoning, permitting or agreeing with sin….. Sin is sin and is not to be excused nor overlooked.  However, we should never feel as though we are too “anointed” to be connected with those to whom God leads us to.  Nor should we attempt to discourage those who are being used of the Lord in areas where we are not comfortable or called to minister in.

In these last days; the Lord needs to connect those Saints who have a true love for Him … and are willing to share that love… to those who are still struggling in various areas.

God has given us to the ability to be sociable creatures.  We therefore need connections.  However, we must be certain that every connection will be constructive and offer increase, integrity, stamina... and above all… receive a stamp of approval from the Lord.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one …….”   I Thessalonians 5:11a

Don’t Settle For Less

Don’t Settle For Less

“And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”  Romans 12:2

What achievement(s) do you highly value?  What are you striving to accomplish on a daily basis?  What targets are your arrows attempting to reach?   What long and short term goals are ever before you?

Whatever venture you are striving to undertake or to complete – now is the time to endure and to press forward as never before.  Don’t become weary, don’t become stagnate… and by all means….  Don’t Settle for Less.

It appears that we have encompassed that mindset of the world which has caused us not to value who we are nor what we have been called to bring into manifestation.

For example, we are settling for what brings happiness…. Instead of persevering for joy;

We are permitting our appetites (spiritual & natural) to be appeased or pacified…Instead of fulfilling their required necessities.   We are popping too many pills … Instead of pulling our heads up from the pillows and praying our way through.  We have permitted too many of the conveniences of modern technology to limit instead of enhancing our brain’s activity and ability.

So, ever so slowly, ever so subtly we have begun to settle for the lesser qualities of life – instead of striving for better.  However, we must; as King’s Kids – begin or continue to refuse to settle for just “anything”.  We must keep our goals and aims focused on the wholesome and weightier principles of this life.

Begin to recapture the mindset in your daily activities that will not permit you to settle for less in any area of my life.   Simply because I am a joint heir with Christ – all of my needs are already met.  I therefore don’t have to lower nor compromise my standards nor my expectations, nor my desires, nor goals nor my vision.  I don’t have to settle for anything less.  I won’t settle for less in any area of my life!

The greater one lives on the inside of me…. Therefore I can no longer be comfortable settling for the “less”.  I also cannot become ignorant to the fact that iron does sharpen iron.  So those who are content and relaxed in their “state of less”…. Don’t exhibit the qualities of iron!

As of today – I will begin to rid my mind, and my physical environment of everything that resembles the state of being “less”….. and permit true greatness to be my daily portion.   I will revamp my “bucket list”.  I’ll no longer “wish” but I will decree, declare, affirm, and announce that because the greater one truly does live on the inside of ME (I John 4:4)… I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER. EVER again SETTLE FOR LESS!

I’ll stand on Psalm 112:3 which states…..

“Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.”

                                                                                                                      Psalm 112:3

Integrity Must Be Displayed

Integrity Must Be Displayed

May I daily mirror and display a “lifestyle” of integrity.

Yahweh Sali”

(The Lord my rock. –Psalm 18:2)

The Lord is my Rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.                      Psalm 18:2

Read: Psalm 18 & Psalm 34

When we disrespect those who are in authority concerning us – and influence others to do the same; we are walking in open rebellion.    At this point, WE have opened an entrance for the enemy to come in; take off his shoes and have a cup of cappuccino!   However, more importantly, we are also displaying the fact that the Lord is still not our rock.  We are not walking in the level of integrity that will permit us to stand undefeated in these last days.

The evidence that the Lord is my rock is proven and displayed to others by the degree of integrity that daily governs my life.   If the Lord is my rock, I will not fall prey to the mindsets of this world and its dishonest principles.  “IF" the Lord is my rock, I will not stand upon the motivations, nor, find rest in the comfort zones, of anything that doesn’t come into alignment with the integrity of His Kingdom Principles.  My level of integrity must excel the mere living a lifestyle that others can observe as being that of a “Christian”.  I must be an open display in the realm of the spirit; to be observed by every diabolical force; that my dedication to the Lord is authentic.

Therefore, as of today O Lord, may my every thought, motive and action affirm the fact that you are truly my rock.  It is you that I run to daily to support and anchor me.  It is you that I depend upon as my pillar, as my prop, as my leaning post, as my only genuine stake; which possesses the ability to remain stable and unyielding in this ever - changing world.

It is only because of your revealed quality as Yahweh Sali, that I am capable of remaining unshaken in the midst of every storm. Even nature has revealed that in the eye of every hurricane or tornado there is a place of total peace. I have discovered that it is the guidance of your eye, Yahweh Sali, which is capable of giving me total peace and stability when the turmoil and devastative effects of spiritual or natural tsunamis manifest themselves in my life.   No matter what occurs, because of your integrity to me, - I can always find comfort in the fact that you have hidden me in the “cleft of yourself” and permitted me to find safety in the “secret place” of who you are.  You have allowed me to abide under your shadow. It is in you that I can wholeheartedly trust.   May I never forget that you have been and will always be my perpetual ROCK.

“On Christ the SOLID ROCK I stand….ALL, ALL, ALL other ground is sinking sand!”

Therefore, I will perpetually keep myself under the restraints of the Holy Ghost; who will assure me the power to walk in the level of integrity; that permits the Lord to be visibly displayed in every circumstance and situation that I may daily encounter….. And it is so!

 September 11th (911) – 23 Years Later…

Where are you?

14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.”                                                   I John 5:14 & 15 Amplified Version

Today in America, many are reflecting on the devastating events that occurred on this date – 23 years ago.  What is even more of a tragedy is the fact that the hearts of many have not matured to reflect growth, allegiance and devotion which is equivalent to the same.  Twenty-three years later, Where Are You?

Have you matured to the extent that you are sincerely able to stand on the authentic, unadulterated word of the Lord?   We must remember that two of the most prevalent strategies that our adversary has used for years among the members of the body of Christ, is to get us to doubt God and to waste time.  He knows that for the most part; as leaders; we are too wise to go back out into the world; and that we love the Lord too much to steal His tithe and/or offerings.  He (the enemy) also knows that most Christians are not very knowledgeable concerning the Word of God!

Hosea 4:6 tells us that we are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.  Therefore, although we love the Lord, we are not advancing and maintaining our stamina in the realm of the spirit.  This is simply because we are not in possession of the proper concepts and precepts concerning the application of the Word of God.  One of the areas of our lives where this is prevailing is in our prayer life.

According to our text, whenever I pray, God hears what I’m saying.  Therefore to me this  denotes that because God is neither deaf, nor void of understanding concerning my intentions;  I don’t need to pray the same request over and over and over and over again.  When we pray, the enemy has us so consumed with fear, doubt, unbelief or just plain ignorance – that we feel as though when we don’t SEE the immediate manifestation of our request… we begin to panic.  Listen, and listen to me well…. God is saying….I heard you the first time!  (And please don’t refer to Matthew 7:7 or Luke 11:9). We must remember that God’s timing is usually not in accordance with ours.  If I stop praying for something when I can see the manifestation of what I’ve prayed for….. is that walking by faith or by sight?

So, after I’ve prayed, I need to now walk in faith – denouncing the spirit of fear, tearing down every road block and hindrance that would prevent the manifestation (in this realm) of my petition.  I also need to become mature enough…. To the extent…. that I can maintain my focus regardless - and pray God’s promises – and not my problems!  I need to not negate the manifestation of my request, by releasing from my mouth words that are contrary to my spoken request of the Lord.

God HAS Already Heard Me! Therefore, I will stand and realize that, if there has been a delay in the physical manifestation to the response of my request; that there’s a principle that the Lord is attempting to bring to my awareness.  So again I ask: “If I stop praying when I physically see the manifestation  - aren’t I really walking by sight and not by faith????”.

I’ve heard many say P.U.S.H. meaning Praying, Until, Something, Happens.  However, as for me; whenever I pray… something has already happened! I’d rather say that P.U.S.H. means to Persevering, Under, Satanic, Harassment!

Because God HAS already heard me; I won’t waste precious time walking in unbelief and presenting the same request to Him again as though He is ignorant, deaf or void of understanding!  I’ll walk in faith and begin to praise Him in advance, before I even SEE…in this realm, the manifestation of my request….because I know, that I know, that I know….. IT’S ON THE WAY!!!  Therefore…I can shout NOW!!!!!

(Remember …..My prayers must be in accord with God’s written Word if I desire for Him to positively answer them!)

Let’s move forward …and on 911 next year, we will observe growth, maturity and an enhanced dimension in our prayer life.

Defeated Foe or Confident Warrior…….The Decision is Yours!

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

If we were to take a quick poll of those who are operating in leadership positions within the body of Christ; we would readily discover that many are operating from the mentally of “defeat” instead of “confidence”.

Today ask yourself from which platform you are truly functioning.  Does your confidence in the promises of God end at the onset of the least little “boo” from the enemy’s camp?  If so… you’re a Defeated Foe!  Has your level of faith still not matured to the state where you can place your petitions before the Lord; according to 1 John 5:14 & 15 and move on?  If not….. you’re a Defeated Foe!   Are you still “hoping” that the situations will change  after you’ve confidently made all of your decrees and declarations?  If so… you’re living your life as a Defeated Foe!

A warrior is one who maintains the mindset of victory.  They can’t be conquered!  Even in the event that the outcome of a given situation may appear to show signs of loss – a true warrior always wins!  Why?  Because a true warrior has the mental stability and maturity to remain focused on their target – regardless.  It doesn’t matter the nature nor the source of their opposition, they will remain focused in the midst of any situation.  A true warrior knows that they may encounter disappointing situations, but THEY are never defeated …because they triumph in every situation (2 Corinthians 2:14).   A confident warrior will have many battle scars – yet they will still say and mean – “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face” (Job 13:15).  A confident warrior will genuinely believe that their hope and trust are in the Lord. (And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Ps 39:7). A confident warrior will “Always and ALWAY” (w/o the “s”) – have a Praise in their hearts and a shout in their mouth (Ps. 34:1).  A confident warrior never quits – but maintains the tenacity of a bull dog.  A confident warrior is NEVER impressed nor surprised by anything that emanates from the enemy’s camp – but views every circumstance as an opportunity for God to do the miraculous and His name to be glorified!

So I ask again – Which are you… Defeated Foe or Confident Warrior? Your works and lifestyle tell the story!

Heavy Weights Build Strong Muscles

Heavy Weights Build Strong Muscles

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; Romans 5:3

In earlier years we used to sing a song entitled, “Jacob’s Ladder”.  It was one of those songs which had a seemingly endless amount of verses.  Each verse would end with the statement, “Soldiers of the Cross”.  At that time, I didn’t fully understand the concepts that were attempting to be expressed and impressed upon us.

Today we have saints who fail to realize that they are “soldiers of the cross”. As a soldier, I must understand the fact that God has orchestrated every test, trial and difficult situation, for no other reason than to build my spiritual muscles.

Far too often we have only obtained the ability to successfully lift a ten pound weight in the realm of the spirit.  Then, we seem amazed when we are confronted with a situation requiring the ability to lift fifty pounds and we are unsuccessful – often blaming God for our inabilities and fallacies.  Sadly to say, I constantly observe Saints who are enduring very rigorous physical exercises and toning every physical muscle – however their spiritual muscles are flabby, weak and are in deplorable condition!  Physical exercise is extremely important – however we must exert MORE energy into the development and the conditioning of our spiritual muscles than those of our physical bodies.

So how do we begin to build up our spiritual muscles?

  1. Trusting in our own relationship with the Lord. As a babe in Christ, it was tolerable for us to always run and whine to other Saints with our problems and difficult situations.  However, when will you begin to trust and validate your own relationship with the Lord?  When will you begin to lift those heavier weights in the realm of the Spirit and really believe who and whose YOU are?  When will you believe what YOU say to the extent that you will KNOW because of your relationship with the Lord that whatever you’ve asked…. it’s done!?  When will you begin to build those muscles of faith and realize that God has given to you the power to only SPEAK to every adverse situation and command that His promises prevail ?                                                                                                      I can attest to the fact that in extremely difficult situations, I’ve sought the Lord; trusted in Him and Him alone – without sharing the information with anyone else…. and He has NEVER failed. Sure, at the onset, my faith hadn’t matured to this level…. it was a process that had to begin at some point. When we ask God for something; and then proceed to ask someone else; that’s an indication that our spiritual muscles need to be toned.  In other words, that’s symbolic of asking your earthly father for something; and then, once you’ve asked him… you run off and ask someone else to accommodate your request.  Would that occur?  Absolutely not!  ….Only if your doubted your earthly father or felt as though he was incapable of producing your request.    So it is with our Heavenly father.  We must learn to trust Him with the assurance that He WILL grant our every request (that is in alignment with His word). His integrity is beyond reproach.  We can’t forget that we are joint heirs with His Son; and we must believe in our own relationship with Him. Of course thoughts will come and attempt to weaken our faith.  However we must be determine to lift those heavy weights by standing on the Word of God – if we are going to have those strong muscles.

(Now if you feel as though your walk isn’t strong enough yet for you to stand alone or your faith hasn’t progressed to this level yet; by all means seek for and request the assistance of others who are stronger than you are.  However, we must be determined not to be “co-dependent” upon anyone…other than the Holy Spirit!)

Yes, we are climbing a Spiritual ladder where every round gets higher and higher.  The song Jacob’s Ladder also asked the question, “Do you think I’ll make a good soldier?”

As we lift the heavy weights in the realm of the Spirit, we will build those strong muscles which will enable us to effectively, successfully and strategically stand as an endtime soldier.  Then we will have merited the ability to respond with the concluding verses of the song by responding, “Yes I know I’ll make a good soldier”.  Then and only then will we be able to totally come into agreement with the last verse…. which states… “Rise, Shine; Give God the Glory”!

Walk In Boldness & Confidence….

No More “Cubic Zirconia” Gems

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” ….. Psalm 139:14

God has not designed, nor produced anything that is not authentic.  However, far too often we in the body of Christ have been “hoodwinked” into thinking that we must pattern, copy and mimic the actions of others.  We fail to realize that God has created each of us uniquely different.  It is His desire that we examine the life of Christ in every aspect; and configure our lives according to the example that He has displayed and not the lives of one another.

I am reminded of the time when I was looking through one of my copies of Vogue magazine.  One thing that was very prevalent was this- each designer displayed their own unique style.  Their creativity was boldly exhibited as they dared to be different.  Not one of the designers attempted to copy or to mirror the ideas or handiwork of their fellow artists.  Something else that was very obvious was the fact that it didn’t matter who did or didn’t appreciate, applaud or accept their creations – they still dared to be that original designer; and they used their creative ability to the fullest.

We must remember that God has not created any cubic zirconia gems!  What is a spiritual cubic zirconia gem?

  • It is an imposter, an imitator and an impressionist in the realm of the spirit.
  • It is one who pretends to be something that they are not.
  • It is one who thinks that they must walk, talk, shout, preach, etc. - exactly like someone else.
  • It is one who has failed to realize that God has created them to be an original…designed just for Him – and not the carbon copy of another.
  • It is one who has permitted the enemy to convince them to participate in actions of “self – sabotage”; therefore, making themselves of no threat to his kingdom!

So.... I challenge you to dare to be unique!  Not arrogant, boastful, or heady; but boldly confident in whom God has created you to be.  We must always adhere and conform to EVERYTHING that God has spoken and had recorded in our Bible.  If we are going to be successful as endtime warriors – we must decide to give the Holy Spirit permission to use our creative ability.   Why settle for being a cheap copy – when you can be a costly original? Come from behind that mask and refuse to be hindered any longer in those areas where you sense insecurity!  God is waiting for you to begin to display what He has placed in you.

No one can beat you at being you.  The world needs what the Lord has placed inside of you.  Be determined to be an authentic diamond (maybe still needing to be refined – but that’s okay!) and not a cubic zirconia gem.  Remember….The time is now….. and the person is YOU!  Come out of your box… and dare to be authentically you!

My Ultimate Comforter in Every Storm

 “Jehovah El Ha-Melitz

…….My Lord, My God, My Comforter

(The Lord God my Comforter - Isaiah 51:12A)

"I, even I, am the one who comforts you. Isaiah 51:12A

Read Isaiah 40:1-11

Storms don’t come to last…they come to pass.

Therefore, Oh Lord, may I always retain my focus – regardless.  May I never permit tragedies, nor the abrupt and sudden onset or alteration of situations; to overtake, nor to overwhelm my mind.  May I always find the comfort and peace that I need, in my assurance and knowledge of who you are.

Father, may I always remain cognizant of the fact that every storm you permit me to encounter has a purpose.   You have fore warned me that in this world I will have trouble, trials, and tribulations – “storms”.  However, you have also taught me to be of good cheer because You have overcome the world and all of its adverse conditions.  Therefore, since You have successfully conquered all that this world has presented to You – I can take comfort in the fact that; through the indwelling power of the Holy Ghost, I also am an overcomer.

Lord, You have equipped us with the ability to remember the wisdom and Godly principles which were taught to us by many of our loved ones who are now with You. When I reflect, I can remember hearing the saying that the darkest hour is just before dawn.  So Lord, may I always take comfort in knowing that the sun WILL always appear again.  May I perpetually find comfort in you, Jehovah El Ha-Melitz .  May I stand in the midst of every storm and still yet declare that You are Lord. May the spirit of fear never be fueled by anything that may arise in my life; any action or any adverse words which have been released from my mouth……… because You are my ultimate comforter.

May I remember that You have orchestrated the timing and the nature of every storm in my life.  May I trust and cling to Your immutable anchor.  May I never cease to find solace in the guidance of Your omniscient and omnipotent eye.

You ARE my Jehovah El Ha-Melitz –, My LORD, My GOD, My KING,…… My COMFORTER!  Hallelujah!

Laboring Requires Endurance

Laboring Requires Endurance

“Therefore endure hardness as a good soldier…… 2 Timothy 2:3

It’s Labor Day!! Today, as America focuses on those who have made contributions to the prosperity and economic strength of our nation; we should also remember those who have impacted and worked diligently within our lives in the realm of the Spirit.   Those Spiritual warriors who have laid the groundwork and foundation for our Spiritual stability.  They have taught us Not to Panic!  They have taught us to not fear the works of the enemy.  They have taught us that when adversity arises, to stand firm on the Word of the Lord  and remember that – Endurance is the key!!

As we continue to reflect on those who have labored, in the physical realm and in the realm of the spirit we can attest to the fact that they had to endure various attacks.   However, their endurance is an example to us that we must not become weary, keep our focus and PRESS forward – regardless.

The word press by its nature implies that opposition will occur.  Without opposition – there would be no need to press.    Listed below is the prayer that you have probably previously read entitled, “The Power to Press Beyond.”  Read it again, asking the Lord to increase your ability to focus more on His divine will for your life – and not on the attacks of the enemy.  In this era, the weak minded will not have the focus to endure!

Just as on Labor Day we honor those who have “Labored” in the physical realm, the Lord will also honor those who have and are laboring for Him.

Power To Press Beyond

(Written by Apostle Claudia Boatwright ©2003)

Father in Jesus’ name, I thank you for the innate force within me that prompts me to seek a deeper revelation of you.

For my only desire in pressing beyond this realm is to obtain a greater insight of you and your solemnness; thus enabling me to not walk on the surface, but to have available to me those hidden, partially revealed spiritual treasures that are vital at this time.  These “jewels” are required for me to excel and will afford me the opportunity to properly lead others.

Lord God, I thank you that I have learned to persevere and to press beyond the obstacles, the road blocks and the detour signs - the hidden snares designed to delay your divine will for my life.  Thank you for the courage to press; - that courage which is required to recognize and discern; to subdue and call to nought every demonic and satanic force sent to oppose me on every level.  I now know how to press through and not request that you remove from me difficult situations….. For I recognize that all of these have been foreordained for my advancement.

Since you have told me that the best is in the press, I will press into you at any cost.   I will press beyond the feelings of defeat, frustration, adversity and opposition. I will press beyond the spirits of despair, dejection and rejection.  I have learned that I must press beyond any of the feelings in my flesh, and rely only what my spirit discerns from you. Then and then only will I maintain this realization that in my press, YOU will never deny me.

So forgetting those things which are behind, I press.

Growing and still maturing in the process, I press.

Awaiting your divine intervention……..

I press, I press, I PRESS!!!

“Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” Ephesians 6:13-18 (The Message Bible)

Turbulence Onboard?? ... Adjust your Altitude With Assurance!

“Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.”  Romans 5:3-5 AMP

In this season let’s be more focused on our spiritual radars.  It is imperative that we  ask God for the manifestation of a sharper and keener degree of discernment.  Our spiritual radars most have the ability to detect the diabolical sound waves of today…which are so much more subtle than those of yesterday.    Be determined that as you advance in this season, you will do so….so absorbed in who the Lord is. that whatever occurs, and whenever it occurs, you will peacefully and calmly ride through your turbulent winds.

Simply because God has called us to walk in and to live by a lifestyle that is governed by His statues, promises and provision; our walk should be quite different from the walk of most of the people which we encounter on a daily basis.   Our walk should be different because we have learned the art of how to handle those unexpected, yet expected bumps in the road.  Our walk should be different because we have learned that every situation in our lives has been preordained by our Master Pilot – who is always on board.  Therefore, when any type of “turbulence” arises – we only need to adjust our altitude …. with an assurance…to the degree that will bring us back to stabilization!

There are various types of turbulence which may occur at any given time.  Certain types are only typical to specific elements and environments.  Therefore because we are all different, we will all experience various elements which have been individualized just for us.  The degree of turbulence is dependent upon various factors.  However, it doesn’t matter… whatever the level or type of turbulence that may appear –again; I reiterate:  we only need to adjust our altitude to the degree that will bring us back to stabilization.

Sometimes we can experience turbulence because we are “flying to low”.  In other words we have become too comfortable in our spiritual walk.  We are not advancing… we are simply standing in the same place, in the realm of the spirit.  Therefore God has to “upset our apple cart”.  He has to permit some type of contrary wind to blow to force us to get out of our comfort zone. .. and to progress or advance in our ministry, calling or giftings.

Then there may be times when we experience turbulence because we are flying in the wrong direction.  We have become like Jonah and decided that WE know what’s best… and that God really doesn’t have a clue in this “day and age”, what’s of value!  So He (God) has to permit a little turbulence to get us back on course.  Or we may be flying in the wrong direction because we are not spiritually alert and have not noticed that the winds have shifted in the realm of the spirit.  Our spiritual radars have become out of sync and are not detecting the diabolical plots, plans and schemes correctly…. Therefore we are flying in the wrong direction AND can’t even detect it!

Then, there may be times when we are moving at the correct speed.  The conditions are “A- one”, and a turbulent wind comes for no apparent reason.  During these times our Master Pilot is simply testing us.  Not to see what we will do – for He is omniscient.. and  already knows all things.  His testing is permitting us and our adversary to see the advancements that we have made.  God is giving satan permission to try us as He gave him the permission to try Job.  (Although Job still had a lot of issues!) Yes, sometimes God is permitting us to be placed on an open display for others to see His handiwork in us!

God wants us to be so totally dependent upon His love for us; that we will experience EVERY turbulent situation without even knowing or negatively acknowledging that it has occurred!

We’ve often heard the statement, “Mind Over Matter”.  Although not a biblical statement – it can have biblical implications.  There are various scriptures that refer to “the mind”.  When we learn the process of mind renewal; and when we learn to let the mind of Christ govern us – then… when whatever turbulent winds may arise – we will quickly and automatically adjust our altitude …. And continue to soar as an eagle.

Stay so in tuned with God your Master Pilot and His love for you that every negative or turbulent wind will not cause you to fret or become overly concerned….. You will simply adjust your altitude to the degree, that will bring you back to stabilization and you will continue to journey on!

So, whenever the turbulent winds occur always adjust your altitude.  Remember that the first rule of thumb is to remain calm.  Stay so connected to the Lord that nothing will totally “catch” you off guard.   Next, know that the endurance of the negative effects which have resulted from your turbulent winds is only temporary.   Refuse to worry.  Stand firmly on the Word of God who is always our very PRESENT help in the time of every storm.  Lastly, remember your lessons gleaned from every storm and turbulent condition.  Emerge with a “know how” and an assurance of how to progress through the next turbulent occurrence (because it will arise!) .

Clean Hands….AND a Pure Heart

Clean Hands….AND a Pure Heart

……..Who may stand in his holy place?  The one who has clean hands and a pure heart… Psalm 24:3 & 4

One of the prerequisites to maintaining a proper relationship with the Lord is for us to regularly monitor our actions and our motives.  The above scripture acknowledges the importance of both of these qualities.

There are many instances when people have asked if doing certain things will cause them to go to hell.  However, while our eternal state is of great importance – our daily walk is of equal relevance.   My daily walk as a Christian will establish one of two points.  It will verify that I sincerely love the Lord – more than I love myself.  Or it will confirm that although I have acknowledged Christ as my Savior; I have not matured in my relationship with Him.

The statement “clean hands”; above the obvious, is also making a reference to those things that we are involved or associated with.  We must be certain that we have not become members of various organizations (especially those of you who are in college) whose origin is demonic.  There are several groups who are accomplishing much within our communities and making a great impact.   However the real motive is to get you to become connected with them.  Therefore, by doing so, you have willingly given satan an access.

A “pure heart” reflects on my intentions.  If my actions are correct – but my reasonings which support my actions are not resonating from the character qualities of the throne of God – then I am operating from a place of deceit, deception and dishonesty.  My actions also must not be the results of: the spirit of fear, past feelings of rejection, anger, pride etc.

Colossians 3:17 states, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

The word clean refers to the state of…while the word purity refers to the composition of.  Both are of grave importance to our ability to function successfully in our daily walk – as well as to our relationship with the Lord and His ability to use us effectively.

So, let’s be certain that our hands are clean, AND our hearts are pure!
