Are My Connections Productive?

Are My Connections Productive?

Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.                       John 7:24 Amplified Version

As we search throughout the scriptures, we can observe that the relationships which people were involved in were of grave importance.  Therefore, we must realize the significance of becoming associated with and connected to the right people.

Connections should be for the purpose of increase.  Therefore I should be either the provider or the receiver – but increase is a must.  Wrong, non-productive relationships would be considered one of those “weights which does so easily beset us” (Hebrews 12:1).

So let’s consider some of our connections.  What do our: friends, acquaintances, religious and secular group memberships reveal?  Are there any connections where I am currently not being increased – or increasing someone else?  Some connections are temporary; seasonal - while others maintain the ability to perpetually be an asset to us in some fashion.   When we don’t know the purpose for a relationship, nor have considered its nature – we will attempt to cling on to and transform those “passing connections” into permanent ones.

We are in the era now where everyone seems to want to “network”. Everywhere you go people are wanting to connect. This can be advantageous as well as detrimental.   We must be on our guard at all times and realize that every good connection may not be a God connection.

As we approach the end of this year and this season, let’s survey our connections.  Are there those relationships that should be eliminated?  Be determined that those “blood sucking”, non – productive, eternal leeches and carbuncles will not be carried into the new year!  Be determined that you will venture out into new connections to include those that will offer completely difference experiences for yourself and others.

God has given us the ability to be sociable creatures.  We therefore need connections.  However, we must be certain that every connection will be constructive and offer increase, integrity, stamina and above all receive a stamp of approval from the Lord.

Isaiah 43:19 ESV

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Seven Types of Faith

Seven Types of Faith

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:1)

Today we will view this multifaceted word “FAITH” from another angle.   We have been taught through the Word of God, that Faith is obtained by not simply listening to the Word of God – but through understanding the Word that we hear.  However, what so frequently occurs is that we don’t properly understand nor comprehend the Word. We sometimes fail to view the phrases and words used in the Bible in light of the culture and philosophies of that era (in other words from a hermeneutical approach).  Then, since we don’t fully understand the Word, the enemy is able to steal the effectiveness of the Word.  (Read the explanation of the parable about the sower and the seed as recorded in Matthew 13:18-23).  Without the proper understanding – we open the doorway of our minds to the knocks of fear, doubt and unbelief.

We are all given a measure of faith.  However, it then becomes our responsibility to move forward and upward on the “faith ladder”.  I would like to encourage you to check out the seven types of faith that I’ve listed below.  No doubt this list is not conclusive - just a simple measuring stick to get the ball rolling.

********************************************************************

Seven Types of Faith

(Not Listed in any Specific Order)

  1. Natural Faith (Ex.- The type of faith that we extend to: bus drivers, our Doctors, our

Banks, etc.  - No one has ever questioned a bus Driver about their credentials – we just display “natural faith” by taking a seat and riding to our destination!)

  1. Little Faith (Matthew 6:30)
  2. Mustard Seed Faith (Matthew 17:20 – small but potent)
  3. Great Faith (Matthew 8: 8 & 10)
  4. Measure of Faith (Romans 12:3)
  5. Faithless Faith (John 20:27)
  6. Visual Faith (Luke 5:20)

I challenge you as of today, to ask the Holy Spirit to begin to open the doorway that will lead you to receive the proper understanding of His Word.  Ask Him to erase the slate of your mind that houses any and all concepts and precepts concerning Him that have been established as a result of man-made traditions and/or erroneous teachings.  Ask the Holy Spirit to place grates over your physical entry gates to filter out and forbid anything from entering into your spirit that would contradict the true understanding of the Word of God.  Lastly, be ready to receive the freedom that the true understanding of God and His Word will initiate.

All levels of faith are initiated from a basic, proper, clear and correct concept of the genuine love shown and expressed by Our Lord through His Son Jesus.  So do you want to unlock the pathway that leads to an enhanced degree of faith??? – The master key is labeled.. “UNDERSTANDING”!  The more that one understands – the greater the level of Faith!

“But without faith it is impossible to please him…….:” Hebrews 11:6

Transitioned  for Transformation

Transitioned  for Transformation

Have you been transitioned for transformation?    Have you observed the recent “Shift” in the attacks which have been released from the kingdom of darkness?   Many have been expressing the nature of their recent attacks; all of which have taken a different slant from the “normal” diabolical attacks.    However because we are in the process of being transitioned for the transformation – we have been able to withstand the pressure and we continue to proceed without the stress and anxiety that we would have previously experienced.   We have begun to elevate our thought processes to become more proactive than reactive.  We have finally realized that if change is to be effective, relevant and complete, it must be initiated in our minds.

Nevertheless, we must continue to realize that the process is yet not completed.  There are areas in our minds that are still “a work in progress”!  My actions will always reveal what’s truly occurring on the inside. Therefore, if I haven’t altered my thoughts, opinions and ideas concerning a certain matter, then my actions will not produce a permanent change.

According to the dictionary; transitioned indicates a process or period which something underwent a change and passed from one state, stage, form, or activity to another.   Therefore by its very nature the word “transitioned” bears witness that there has been an alteration in some component of my being.   I have not transitioned if everything about me has remained the same.  However as previously stated this process of transitioning begins in our minds.  Remember, my actions will only reflect the activity that my control center - my mind - has ordered.

Transformation however, expresses the end product; a completed change.  I’m reminded of a toy that was popular many years ago called a transformer.  Every part of the toy had the ability to be changed.   With this toy the children could twist and turn the movable parts and “transform” the shape and appearance  of the toy from one creature to another.

Today, in this season, God is especially using those who have permitted their minds to be transitioned by the indwelling power of Holy Ghost…. and through that transition, He has brought them into a state of transformation that cannot – will not ever be diminished.  It is these people, who are totally sold out for the Lord, who have been “Transitioned for Transformation”.

Although the renewing of my mind is a progressive process; once the transition has produced transformation in a given area – then, that area cannot ever be controlled by the enemy again.

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I now have the ability to treasure and to be entrusted with the “weightier” matters.   (Luke 16:11)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

My total allegiance is to no one but the Lord. (Matthew 22:37)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I have no excuses for not walking in obedience to the call of the Lord on my life.  (Luke 11:28)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I know no defeat – I don’t have the ability to, nor the knowledge of failure.  (Philippians 4:13)

When I have been transitioned for transformation:

I have not reached perfection in every area – but I am a threat to the kingdom of darkness!  (Luke 10:19)

So again I propose the question, “Have you been transitioned for transformation”?  If not, now is the perfect time to get the ball rolling.

If you have already undertaken this process – maintain allegiance to the Lord…. Keep your focus.

Just know that when you have been Transitioned for the Transformation ,,,you are now ready to :

Receive the Manifestation…. Expose the Revelation.. and to be a Demonstration…. of God’s power and authority over every diabolical force that you may encounter on a daily basis!

What about the Christmas Tree?

What about the Christmas Tree?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Proverbs 3:5 ESV

I wasn’t going to post this again, however, here it is.  Perhaps someone needs to share this with friends, family or coworkers.

It appears that every year more and more people are being misled.  They are not researching the scriptures for themselves concerning the use of a Christmas tree as an added component to their Christmas decorating.

The scriptures in question are Jeremiah 10:1-5 and Isaiah 44:12-28.  To summarize the teachings; these scriptures are referring to those who would cut down trees, decorate them, and burn them to use them for heat.  In these scriptures, they would also take the trees to woodcarvers to have images engraved upon them and/or pray to them.  Those trees would be used for idol worship.  So, my question is: “Are you worshipping your Christmas tree?”  Are you using or involving it in worship instead of worshipping Jehovah God?  Are you idolizing it or having images engraved in it?  This is what was being address by the Prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah.

Then some are stating that the Christmas tree should not be used because of its Pagan origin.  Well, to be truthful most of the practices that we have adopted have such an origin….Yet we adhere to them.  If I were to name just a few that we entertain on a daily basis many of you would be surprised.  I would even dare to say that everyone of us engages in at least one of these practices every single day!

Let’s not permit the enemy to allow us to become distracted by causing our focus to drift.  Christ must be the focal point of EVERYTHING that we are involved in.

REMEMBER: Jesus is still the reason for this season!  It’s really not that deep!!!!

Colossians 3:17 states it this way: “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all to the glory of God.”

Our Christian religion is composed of various symbols. The Evergreen Tree which is used during the Christmas season should be viewed as just another symbol that can be implemented at this time of the year for the believer. Therefore, as for me, whatever I bring into my home will be used to bring glory and honor to the Most High God.  I won’t worship the tree.  However, I will permit each ornament and each piece of decoration on my tree to stand as a visible reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ; and to serve as a reminder of the everlasting, ever-abiding presence of the Holy Spirit… whose power has birthed and illuminated an unquenchable flow of Love, Joy and Peace!

May the Spirit of God, that infiltrates the atmosphere at this time of the year be yours and empower you to receive an enhanced dimension of who He truly is!!!

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

(FYI: Also, while it makes a nice display; it’s Biblically incorrect to have the Wise Men in your Nativity Scene…. They didn’t find Christ until He was much older!!!!! Do the research for yourself.)

Clean Hands….AND a Pure Heart

Clean Hands….AND a Pure Heart

……..Who may stand in his holy place?  The one who has clean hands and a pure heart…  Psalm 24:3 & 4

One of the prerequisites to maintaining a proper relationship with the Lord is for us to regularly monitor our actions and our motives.  The above scripture acknowledges the importance of both of these qualities.

There are many instances when people have asked if doing certain things will cause them to go to hell.  However, while our eternal state is of great importance – our daily walk is of equal relevance.   My daily walk as a Christian will establish one of two points.  It will verify that I sincerely love the Lord – more than I love myself.  Or it will confirm that although I have acknowledged Christ as my Savior; I have not matured in my relationship with Him.

The statement “clean hands”; above the obvious, is also making a reference to those things that we are involved or associated with.  We must be certain that we have not become members of various organizations (especially those of you who are in college) whose origin is demonic.  There are several groups who are accomplishing much within in our communities and making a great impact.   However the real motive is to get you to become connected with them.  Therefore, by doing so, you have willingly given satan an access.

A “pure heart” reflects on my intentions.  If my actions are correct – but my reasonings which support my actions are not resonating from the character qualities of the throne of God – then I am operating from a place of deceit, deception and dishonesty.  My actions also must not be the results of: the spirit of fear, past feelings of rejection, anger, pride etc.

Colossians 3:17 states, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

The word clean refers to the state of…while the word purity refers to the composition of.  Both are of grave importance to our ability to function successfully in our daily walk – as well as to our relationship with the Lord and His ability to use us effectively.

Therefore, think about it.  Are your hands as spiritually clean as they appear to be?  Is your heart daily adhering to Kingdom Principles?  Why not seek the face of God for a revelation of what the true composition of both are.  Ask God to reveal to you the “real” you…..you just might be surprised!!!!

I’ll be a Witness…… But to Them?

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.”

Who is included in your “them”?  Far too often we will be avid witnesses for the Lord; and express a sincere concern for lost souls…..except when it comes to “them”.  Now, we’ll be the first to vocalize that we are not prejudice; nor biased in our soul winning concerns.  However, most of us have unconsciously established boundaries and perimeters, outside of which we don’t venture when it comes to seeking out the lost.

When God inspired the writers to pen the scriptures, every single example used, was done with a purpose.  As we re-read our text, it is evident that it is extremely detailed.   One of the examples that Jesus was attempting to show us is the fact that we can’t permit the characteristics which a person may possess in the physical realm, to forbid us from fulfilling a deficiency that they may possess in the realm of the Spirit.  As we read, we can observe that He knew her need for contentment had not been found in her previous experiences.  Therefore, He ignored that fact of her gender and her heritage.  He went deeper.  Even throughout their entire conversation, He sought to fulfill the spiritual – while she initially lacked the ability to comprehend the essence of His message.

So we must expand our mindsets to view others – first in the realm of the Spirit.  We must be open to eagerly witness to our personal group of “them”.  To those, to whom we through our own prideful mindsets; feel as though we shouldn’t witness to.  Now, 99% of the time, whatever reason we will use to validate our actions of neglect, has risen from the residue of pride that is still lingering around!

Your “them” may include: the rich and high sidity; the poor; the homeless; those who are bound by mental challenges; those who are involved in unnatural sexual relationships; those who are of a different ethnic origin …..and the list is endless.  However, you will still be held accountable for not expressing the love of God to your “them”!

Refuse to permit the enemy to cloud your reasoning any longer.  We must be about our Father’s work.  He orders our steps as to cross those to whom we should witness.  However, we must walk in an awareness and an obedience to Him; that will cause us to seize every opportunity to be a witness for Him; and to eliminate the groups of “them” from our lives.

Ezekiel 33:6 reminds us of the importance of being a witness to everyone who hasn’t been warned about their sin nature.  We must receive an amended mindset concerning our concept of the loss, and yes, find the loss…at any cost.

“But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone's life, that person's life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.” Ezekiel 33:6  (NIV)

It’s Your Temple…. It’s Your Responsibility

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”  I Corinthians 9:16

Sometimes we seem to forget that because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost, that we must be careful what we permit to enter this temple on every level.  Usually, we are cautious in regards to our spiritual intake.  We make certain that our spiritual diet is rich in content and we filter out everything that we feel would attempt to hinder our spiritual growth or stamina.

We have the spiritual aspect pretty well covered.  However, what about in the natural?   Are you doing your part to maintain your physical health as well?  We sometimes forget that the maintenance of our temples is our responsibility.  While we can quote our confessions concerning divine healing and walking in good health – if we are not putting the proper food into our bodies – we are simply working against our confessions.  Many people think that if they are thin that they are healthy – not necessarily so.  Only your physician can advise your concerns in that area.

Here in the USA we have entered what some are calling the flu season.  As with the recession; I have chosen not to participate!  However, I will move in wisdom to assure that I maintain a healthy diet - as to not give the enemy any access in the natural.

The list below which will be beneficial in the boosting of your immune system.  Remember your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost – therefore God expects YOU to keep it healthy.

7 Flu – Fighting Foods (by Niss Simon)

Tomatoes – Vitamin C rich.  Boost the body’s natural defense system in the same way as their citrusy relatives do.  One medium produces 40% of your daily vitamin C requirement.

Almonds- Rich source of the antioxidant vitamin E which helps to ward of viral infections.  To maximize absorption opt for chopped almonds, almond butter or almond oil.

Mushrooms – Heighten the body’s resistance to viral infections by increasing the natural killer cells.  Rich in selenium; low levels of this element have been linked with an increased risk of developing more severe flu.

Tea – Green, black and oolong all contain naturally occurring compounds that reduce the risk of the flu.  They contain quercetin – a powerful antioxidant, and L-threonine, an amino acid found naturally only in tea.  Decaffeinated teas also contain the amino acid, but most herbal teas do not.

Carrots – rich in beta-carotene; which the body uses to ward off respiratory infections.  Other good sources are dark green vegetables, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and winter squash.

Black –Eyed Peas – Rich in zinc. Pinto beans, peanuts, roasted pumpkin seeds and wheat germ are other good choices.

Yogurt – Probiotics, found in yogurt and other fermented foods strengthens the immune system.  Cottage cheese, kimchi, and sauerkraut will have the same affect.

Seven Healing Herbs and Spices to Boost the Immune System (by Kendra Lady)

Echinacea, Ginger, Turmeric, Elderberry, Garlic, Ginseng, Cinnamon

Let’s be more determine as we prepare for the upcoming winter season to truly live life from the inside out; and become more conscience concerning the total maintenance of our temple – Spiritually as well as Physically.

Remember…It’s Your Temple and its ENTIRE upkeep is YOUR responsibility!!!!

“But I discipline my body and keep it under control,……….”  I Corinthians 9:27

The Search Is On…Do You Qualify?

“……The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: ……. Luke 10:2

If a search was held for those who display the character qualities of the Lord, how would you score?.  Now…. you’ve been “saved” for quite a few years; you know quite a few scriptures; and can effectively convince someone of their need to deepen their relationship with the Lord.  However, do you qualify as a potential for the current search?

Check your credentials ……. You be the judge!

  1. Does my love for the Lord reflect in my: emotions, reasonings, and my actions?
  2. Do I spend quality time in the presence of the Lord – daily?
  3. Am I a BOLD advocate for the cause of Christ?
  4. Am I familiar enough with my “sword” as to know the “flavor” of its content?
  5. What is the opinion of the people in my community concerning my: integrity, friendliness, and my active involvement within the community?
  6. What about my employer and my fellow coworkers? What is their opinion of my Spiritual convictions? Do they even know of my profession concerning my Lord?
  7. What does my check book reveal concerning my stewardship in the area of finances?
  8. What type of financial supporter am I to those who minister to me on a regular basis?
  9. Are my choices and the style of my clothing in accord with what is “satisfactory” and pleasing to the Lord?
  10. Above all, is my overall lifestyle a display of that which would consider me to be classified as a current day disciple?

So if the Lord were to use the above brief list as a “white glove” to survey our lives…. would that glove still remain white after the survey?  Remember….God doesn’t require unreasonable actions  – but He does require obedience, commitment and perseverance.

Yes…. The search is on….. Do you qualify?  (if not…get to stepping!!!)

Slow down…Be Kind!

 Slow down…Be Kind!

“Kindness can only be sown from a heart that is tender.”

“Elohay Chasdi”

(The God of my Kindness - Psalm 59:11)

Love is patient, love is kind…... I Corinthians 13:4

Read Psalm 59 & I Corinthians 13

It has been said that our actions speak louder than our words.  The Bible states, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 NIV).   May I remember, that if I constantly maintain a disposition of unforgiveness; I will be prevented from possessing the ability to express kindness to others.  In many instances, those of us who are unkind are those who are still harboring unforgiveness!

So Lord, I ask that you reveal to me anything within me that is yet hindering me from the ability to show compassion, gentleness and thoughtfulness to EVERYONE.  May I not be biased in my actions, but develop a renewed mindset.  A mindset that has become yielding to the extent, that I now have the capacity to communicate your unconditional love to everyone that I encounter.

May the spirit of pride never mask its self in me, thus manifesting in an: unkind, arrogant, haughty, rancorous, vindictive, egotistical, overly confident, heart.  May I never forget; as a result of my own; pain, hurt or “convenient amnesia”; the countless acts of kindness that you have displayed and are yet displaying to me.   May I operate daily from that platform of forgiveness.

May my desire to show kindness become more than a mere desire; but become an automatic response especially to those who are not expressing that character quality to me.

May I rapidly mature to the degree that I will become aware of every selfish motive that I still possess…. and actively make the necessary amendments.  May I also realize that I need not “feel” like being kind….. to produce the action of kindness.  Let kindness flow from me just as naturally as the blood flows through my veins.

Therefore, I decree, as of today; that I have made a conscience DECISION to be kind. Holy Spirit I ask that you bring to mind strategies that will permit me the ability to outwit the enemy when he attempts to provoke me to be unkind.

Thanks  “Elohay Chasdi” for every expression of kindness that you have extended to me.  May I therefore take the time to…. Slow Down and Be Kind….. today and always.

The Walking Bible

The Walking Bible

“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:” II Corinthians 3:2

A while ago I was given the privilege of facilitating the workshop at a Sunday School Conference.  Their theme for the year was “The Walking Bible”.  So today, I’ll share a few of the key points and fully discuss them at a later date.

We must always remember that everyone who has accepted Christ as their Saviour is a Walking Bible.  However, our effectiveness is dependent upon our relationship with the Lord; and our ability to permit that relationship to govern our lives.   Our every move and decision reveals the impact that God – through His Word, has made on our lives. Although we’ve made adjustments and transformations – if the truth were to be told…..we still have a lot of work to do….and unresolved “issues” still lingering around.  If we were to take into account the amount of time – the years; that we have been saved; and measure it to our effectiveness in the realm of the spirit; the results usually would register very poorly and possibly even non - effective!

Four of the issues that were discussed are: Pride, Ignorance, Fear, and A Need for Mind Renewal.  This group is the foundational platform which anchors all of the reasons and excuses that we state for our lack of effectiveness as a Walking Bible.

PRIDE: In most of our lives the spirit of pride has so “cloaked” itself, that we can’t even realize that it’s still there.  We can always observe this spirit in others – yet rarely recognize it in our own lives. We also have failed to realize how the spirit has poisoned or blemished our testimony; thus nullifying its effectiveness!

IGNORANCE: How much do we really know about Christianity?  Do you just know “about” your Bible? What about any background or historical information concerning the cult of Christianity?  Can you dialect with anyone from another religion and intelligently defend your religious beliefs and convictions?  Can you relay pertinent information about who you believe God to be…. using “non-religious” language and phrases?

FEAR: This is another multifaceted stone.  At the initial onset, most people would declare that they don’t have this issue.  However, when we really begin to dissect this spirit, we will realize that the spirit of fear is still more prevalent in our lives than we are aware of.

A NEED FOR MIND RENEWAL: I’ll just briefly state this, we are now living in the age of : ipads, ipods, tablets, micro-chips, Air Pods, ear buds, mobile banking and the like.  Have you been mentally upgraded?  Are you still using spiritual tactics that are harmonious a typewriter using a cloth ribbon?

As I previously stated: “We are all walking Bibles”.  However we must be more determine to take the proper measures that would enhance our effectiveness in this age.  The unsaved need us to make that undeniable impression upon their lives that will cause them to reconsider their current spiritual condition.

Our goal now must be to exemplify that type of Walking Bible that will cause our God to be glorified…..and the enemy horrified!!!

There’s Been A Shipwreck...

Just Hold On To Your Broken Pieces

“But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.”   Acts 27:43 & 44       (Read the entire chapter for better insight)

There are times when, as Paul, we are always embarking upon some type of voyage or challenge where our “ship” becomes totally destroyed.   However we must remember one concept: There will always be fragments to gather.  So in the midst of your worst devastation – Hold on to your broken pieces!   If you hold on….and don’t quit……. And don’t become discouraged…You will be victorious.

We must also remember that Psalm 34:19 tells us that many are the afflictions of the righteous – BUT the Lord WILL deliver us out of them all. Afflictions refer to circumstances or hardships that cause pain or suffering; whether physical or mental.   Paul was afflicted on numerous occasions – but he managed to flee safely every time because he kept his focus, and learned to hold on to his broken pieces.  As he stated in II Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;……”.

I’m reminded of an old school song that said, “I’m so glad, trouble don’t’ last always”.   So as I await God’s divine intervention….. I must remember that God is able to do just what he said he would do, He's gonna fulfill every promise to me.  I can’t give up on God, cause he won't give up on me….He’s Able!!!!

Therefore…..I’ll hold to God’s unchanging hand,…… and Build My Hopes On Things Eternal….. and continue Standing on the Promises of Christ my king…..  and Look Ever to Jesus; He Will Carry Me Through! (I still love hymns!)

So, no matter how devastating or destructive the storm; there will always be broken pieces.  I MUST maintain or regain my focus.   I MUST search out those broken pieces.  I MUST value my broken pieces.  I MUST remain cognizant of the fact that I can never, never let go of my broken pieces – for it is those broken pieces that will glide me safely to the shore!

I’m Still Holding The Reins

Therefore, I’m Yielded ….. But Not Broken

“Not of works”....  Ephesians 2:9

The Lord wants to be in total control of our lives.  However, for the most part, far too many of His faithful followers haven’t received the boldness which is required for them to operate from a platform of being “broken”.  They are faithful in the “doing” while lacking in the “being”.  In other words we are basically still living our lives from the position of observing the law (the covenant of works); instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to accomplish His work though us.

We have yielded our thoughts, actions and words to the LEADING of the Holy Spirit which is a great achievement… for a new convert.   However, as we mature in the Lord – brokenness is required.

When I “yield” in a given situation; I remain in control and decide the outcome of that situation.   When I am yielded, I will faithfully and in all sincerity: pay my tithes, “assemble myself with other believers”, study and read my Bible, etc.  However, because I am only yielded – I am still basing my relationship with the Lord on all of these things that I am “doing”.

When I become that broken vessel …. I have matured to the place where I am no longer in control at all.  Therefore my mind has been renewed to the extent that I will move in instant obedience to the voice of the Lord.  A broken vessel truly “Takes no thought for tomorrow” when they receive a command from the Lord. A broken vessel doesn’t worry, fret or become overly concerned about the outcome of situations or circumstances.  A broken vessel has learned the art of resting in the assurance of the unconditional love of the Lord – regardless.

A yielded vessel will know that they’ve heard the voice of the Lord; but may delay in obeying…

A broken vessel will know that they’ve heard the voice of the Lord and w/o giving it a second      thought - instantly obey.

A yielded vessel will still “stake claims” on their material possessions….

A broken vessel will say, “Lord EVERYTHING that I have is yours” - …. And they will freely release ANYTHING that they possess when the initial instruction comes from the Lord.

A yielded vessel is still in the process of being molded, reshaped and refashioned into one who has been freed from the influences of the enemy– even though they have been saved for quite some time.   A yielded vessel is still developing into a vessel that has been stripped of every traditional ideology, concept and precept.  Then once stripped, this vessel can now be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit and refashioned to be used totally by Him for His glory.

To be effective in these last days; we can no longer be just yielded vessels.  It’s a new day! The Lord doesn’t desire for us to only be yielded.   We must become broken vessels by Him for Him.

I challenge you to sincerely seek the face of God, asking Him to reveal the areas in your mind where ungodly or immature strongholds still exist…. The areas where you are only yielded – and not broken.

We must be determined to become broken vessels because:

Broken vessels are vessels of virtue;

Broken vessels are vessels of valor and above all;

Broken vessels are vessels of Victory!

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  Isaiah 43:19

One vital piece of information that we must remember is that mighty oak trees are birthed from tiny acorns; and an apple orchard was produced from one apple seed.   In other words, remember…it’s a process!

The embryotic stages of any living creature must be carefully guarded and protected.  This will assure the fact that its ability to reproduce once it reaches the stage of maturity, has been protected and that it will then successfully reproduce.  Each stage of development is vital.

Sometimes we tend to forget that ministry also has its stages of development.  We also forget that our spiritual walk has stages of development.  So don’t permit the spirit of abortion to have victory in your life or ministry. Remember: Every one of us is unique – therefore our journey will not be a carbon copy of anyone else’s.    We must learn the art of being confident in whom we are in the Lord; using only His plumb line as our guide.  Far too often we feel as though because our ministry or our spiritual walk is progressing too slowly or not even showing any outward signs of progress – that we should just give up.  However, growth initiates from the inside out……. And… It’s a process.

When I was a school teacher, in our science class the children would plant seeds.  Sometimes they would want to throw the containers away when they didn’t see anything happening.  However, as they continued to care for the seeds, they would eventually see a tiny sprout coming out of the soil…. And the excitement would begin!  They would then be able to see the evidence of the work that was already taking place under the surface.  We as adults, many times seem to forget those simplistic lessons that we’ve learned as children.  We tend to forget that the visible manifestation of anything is secondary…. And that everything in life that is accomplished is manifested gradually …. EVERYTHING involves stages….. Life is a process.

Another important fact is that we must learn not to “self-sabotage” the manifestation of our progress.  Our words do have power.  Death and life are in the power of our tongue (Proverbs 18:21).

Life is also a waiting game.  However, when we have ENDURED as a good soldier (2 Timothy 2:3) – we will reap the harvest.  God has promised that we will reap in DUE season - however, only if we don’t permit that spirit of abortion to be victorious (Galatians 6:9).   God CAN’T lie (Numbers 23:19).  Therefore learn to wait on the Lord (Psalm 27:14; Isaiah 40:31).

Remember… again I reiterate …. “It’s a Process”!  You must go THROUGH each stage of your process….because tomorrow’s success will stand tall on today’s perseverance!

“And let us not be weary in well doing, for in DUE SEASON we will reap, IF we faint not”. Galatians 6:9

Heavy Weights Build Strong Muscles

Heavy Weights Build Strong Muscles

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; Romans 5:3

In earlier years we sang a song entitled, “Jacob’s Ladder”.  It was one of those songs which had a seemingly endless amount of verses!  Each verse would end with the statement, “Soldiers of the Cross”.  At that time, I didn’t fully understand the concepts that were attempting to be expressed and impressed upon us.

Today we have saints who fail to realize that they are “soldiers of the cross”. As a soldier, I must understand the fact that God has orchestrated every test, trial and difficult situation, for no other reason than to build my spiritual muscles.

Far too often we have only obtained the ability to successfully lift a ten pound weight in the realm of the spirit.  Then, we seem amazed when we are confronted with a situation requiring the ability to lift fifty pounds and we are unsuccessful – often blaming God for our inabilities and fallacies.  Sadly to say, we can constantly observe Saints who are enduring very rigorous physical exercises and toning every physical muscle – however their spiritual muscles are flabby, weak and are in deplorable condition!  Physical exercise is extremely important – however we must exert MORE into the development and the conditioning of our spiritual muscles than those of our physical bodies.

So how do we begin to build up our spiritual muscles?

  1. Trusting in our own relationship with the Lord. As a babe in Christ, it was tolerable for us to always run and whine to other Saints with our problems and difficult situations.  However, when will you begin to trust and validate your own relationship with the Lord?  When will you begin to lift those heavier weights in the realm of the Spirit and really believe who and whose you are?  When will you believe what YOU say to the extent that you will KNOW because of your relationship with the Lord that whatever you’ve asked…. it’s done!?  When will you begin to build those muscles of faith and realize that God has given to you the power to only SPEAK to every adverse situation and command that the promises prevail ?

I can attest to the fact that in extremely difficult situations, I’ve sought the Lord; trusted in Him and Him alone – without sharing the information with anyone else…. and He has NEVER failed. Sure, at the onset, my faith hadn’t matured to this level…. it was a process that had to begin at some point. When we ask God for something; and then proceed to ask someone else; that’s an indication that our spiritual muscles need to be toned.  In other words, that’s symbolic of asking your earthly father for something; and then, once you’ve asked him… you run off and ask someone else to accommodate you.  Would that occur?  Absolutely not!  ….Only if your doubted him or felt as though he was incapable of producing your request.    So it is with our Heavenly father.  We must learn to trust Him with the assurance that He WILL grant our every request (that is in alignment with His word). His integrity is beyond reproach.  We can’t forget that we are joint heirs with His Son; and we must believe in our own relationship with Him. Of course thoughts will come and attempt to weaken your faith.  However we must be determine to lift those heavy weights by standing on the Word of God – if we are going to have those strong muscles.

(Now if you feel as though your walk isn’t strong enough yet for you to stand alone or your faith hasn’t progressed to this level yet; by all means seek for and request the assistance of others who are stronger than you are.  However, we must be determined not to be “co-dependent” upon anyone…other than the Holy Spirit!)

Yes, we are climbing a Spiritual ladder where every round gets higher and higher.  The song Jacob’s Ladder also asked the question, “Do you think you’ll make a good soldier?”

As we lift the heavy weights in the realm of the Spirit, we will build those strong muscles which will enable us to effectively, successfully and strategically stand as an endtime soldier.  Then we will have merited the ability to respond with the concluding verses of the song by responding, “Yes I know I’ll make a good soldier”.  Then and only then will we be able to come into agreement with the last verse…. and totally “Rise, Shine, and Give God the Glory”.

 I Know No Defeat!!!!

Therefore….. I Can’t Fail

“And this is the confidence that we have in him that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”                          I John 5:14 & 15

Walk today as if you have already received everything that the Lord has promised! Wisdom, wealth and riches are in your hand.  God has already placed within your hand the valuable keys which will give you access to every resource needed. However, you must use every available avenue (such as; networking connections, business partnerships, education, talents, gifts, etc… – use them all!) to receive the manifestation of the promises.

God has already heard your request; He’s positioned, established you, and strategically aligned every detail concerning the manifestation of your request and petitions.

Reread the recorded accounts of Joseph’s life (Genesis 37-45) and compare them to your life.  He went from the pasture to the pit,  to Potiphar’s house, to the prison and then to the palace. It was a process! Also, ask God to reveal to you your three key people….Your butler (the person who will open the doors for you); your Pharaoh (the person who will give you access to unlimited resources); and your baker (the person who will assist you in pulling everything together).

Just like Joseph, I can’t fail!  Why can I not fail? Simply because there is no failure in God; and since His Spirit dwells within me….I CAN’T FAIL!!!  As long as I maintain my focus, God will cause ALL things to work together for my good (Romans 8:28).  Even when the circumstances produce unfavorable and unexpected results; I must remember that I STILL HAVEN’T FAILED!!!  I am determined that even in the times and experiences that others may view as failures; I will learn how to perfect or correct every circumstance that has yielded an unexpected outcome.  Therefore, I have still gained something during the entire experience!  I am emerging wiser, more conscientious or more patient.  Therefore, I haven’t failed! I can’t fail.  Failure is not a part of my DNA; and I refuse to permit anyone or anything to impose that mindset into my spirit!  Whether in my pasture, my pit,  my Potiphar’s house experiences or my prison…. I KNOW that I’m being prepared to reign in my palace!  In other words, I have still been increased through every situation….that’s why I can’t fail!

Trust God! He can’t fail you – REGARDLESS!! Whatever you would do …. if you were assured that you would succeed …DO IT!  God IS able to do through you exceedingly and abundantly more than you could ever ask or think.

The ball is in your court… the bat is in your hand.  You may have thought that you were waiting for God …..But in all actuality - He is waiting for You!  Get up! Move out! …. And refuse to be defeated….REGARDLESS!!!!

“…….The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse.” James 2:26 (The Message Bible)

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Adjust Your R.A.D.A.R.  to the correct frequency!

"...be renewed in the spirit of your mind." Ephesians 4:23

Just as we adjusted our clocks a few weeks ago, we must learn to adjust the settings on our spiritual radars so that they will operate on the frequency that will immediately detect adverse activity.

Our radars are the multi-faceted instruments that the Lord has given to us that equip us with the ability to successfully maneuver in the realm of the spirit.  We, as spiritual beings have been given the privilege to ascend beyond this realm.  We have the authority to operate in both the physical and the spiritual realms – if we have the knowledge how to simply “Adjust our R.A.D.A.R.”

Let’s apply this acronym for radar as we adjust.

R- Rest. Many of us don’t really know how to rest in the Lord.  We “THINK” that we are resting in the Him. Yet, in several instances – if we are truthful, if we slow down and consider “ALL” of our actions, we will discover that for the most part, we are not resting fully in the Lord.  As we begin to rest in the Lord, even our physical bodies will begin to heal, replenish, renew and rejuvenate themselves.  When we truly rest in the Lord, THEN our minds will reflect His peace.. that will conquer all.  (Psalm 62:1-2)  And as our minds are at peace we will have the ability to manifest that peace into the atmosphere!

A- Anoint. As we are aware, to anoint is to pour oil upon; to smear or rub, etc.  Therefore, as we daily physically anoint ourselves with oil; we should release our decrees, declarations, plans and purposes into the realm of the spirit.               (Psalm 23:5b; Job 22:28)

D - Dominate your Domain! The time for being passive in the realm of the Spirit has ended!!! To successfully adjust our frequency, requires that we are willing take a militant stand for the Lord – REGARDLESS! Our biblical examples like Daniel, Esther, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, etc. did not display passive behavior patterns ….but have shown us how to “Dominate our Domain!

A - Advance.  Be determine that you will not become complacent within your current state.  Anything that is alive grows.  However, the nutritional composure of our diets (spiritual and natural) will determine our level of advancement.  There is no better way to advance in the kingdom of God than to study….not just read…but to STUDY the Word of God! (2 Peter 3:18a; Proverbs 18:15)

R- Reflect. Don’t assume that you are making a “dent” in the realm of the Spirit.  Are you really a threat to the kingdom of darkness?  Does the enemy really become upset when you arise daily?  One definition for the word reflect is to think deeply and carefully about.  Another says to mirror.  Let’s take some time to seriously consider the spiritual frequency for which our radars are operating…..and make the proper adjustments! (2 Corinthians 13:5)

In conclusion, to properly adjust our radars to the effective frequency we must; Rest in the Lord, Anoint every part of our being, Dominate our domain, Advance and not become stagnant, and lastly Reflect on past operations in the realm of the Spirit!

It’s a new day, a new season and a new frequency….are you prepared?

When I Pray I Am Confident

That God Has Already Heard Me!

14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.”                         I John 5:14 & 15 Amplified Version

Two of the most prevalent strategies that our adversary has used for years among the members of the body of Christ, is number one - to get us to doubt God and number 2 - to get use to waste time.  He (the enemy) knows that for the most part; as leaders; we are too wise to go back out into the world.  He also knows that we love the Lord too much to steal His tithe and/or offerings.  The enemy also knows that most Christians are not very knowledgeable concerning the Word of God!  We can quote it; but don’t truly understand it enough to apply it to our daily lives.

Hosea 4:6 tells us that we are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.  Therefore, although we love the Lord, we are not advancing and maintaining our stamina in the realm of the spirit.  This is simply because we are not in possession of the proper concepts and precepts concerning the application of the Word of God.  One of the areas of our lives where this is prevailing is in our prayer life.

According to our text, whenever I pray, God hears what I’m saying.  Therefore to me this denotes that because God is neither deaf, nor void of understanding concerning my intentions; I don’t need to pray the same request over and over and over and over again.  When we pray, the enemy has us so consumed with fear, doubt, unbelief or just plain ignorance – that we feel as though when we don’t SEE the immediate manifestation of our request… we begin to panic.  Listen, and listen to me well…. God is saying….I heard you the first time!  (And please don’t refer to Matthew 7:7 or Luke 11:9). We must remember that God’s timing is usually not in accordance with ours.  If I stop praying for something when I can see the manifestation of what I’ve prayed for….. is that walking by faith or by sight?

So, after I’ve prayed, I need to now walk in faith – denouncing the spirit of fear, tearing down every road block and hindrance that would prevent the manifestation (in this realm) of my petition.  I also need to become mature enough…. To the extent…. that I can maintain my focus regardless - and pray God’s promises – and not my problems!  I need to not negate the manifestation of my request, by releasing from my mouth words that are contrary to my spoken request of the Lord.

God HAS Already Heard Me! Therefore, I will stand and realize that, if there has been a delay in the physical manifestation to the response of my request; that there’s a principle that the Lord is attempting to bring to my awareness.  So again I ask: “If I stop praying when I physically see the manifestation  - am I really walking by sight and not by faith????”.

I’ve heard many say P.U.S.H. meaning Praying, Until, Something, Happens.  However, as for me; whenever I pray… something has already happened! I’d rather say that P.U.S.H. means to Persevering, Under, Satanic, Harassment!

Because God HAS already heard me; I won’t waste precious time walking in unbelief and presenting the same request to Him again as though He is ignorant, deaf or void of understanding!  I’ll walk in faith and begin to praise Him in advance, before I even SEE…in this realm, the manifestation of my request….because I know, that I know, that I know….. IT’S ON THE WAY!!!  Therefore…I can shout NOW!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!

(Remember …..Our prayers must be in accord with God’s written Word if we desire for Him to positively answer them!)

I’ve Got It……And I’m Going To Keep It!

Read - Deuteronomy 28:1-14

As the Lord begins to restore you to your wealthy place it is imperative that you have already made the proper preparations to maintain the same.  Planning, discipline and an open ear are a few of the essential tools that must be implemented.

(As a reminder, wealth is not limited to monetary increase or the gain of possessions in the physical realm.  We’ll discuss the subject of wealth at a late time.)

Begin now to write, amend or develop; (depending upon your individual level of spiritual maturity) an enhanced, strategic maintenance plan.  This plan must incorporate the well-defined vision that the Lord has given to you concerning your destiny.   Your plans must satisfy the required steps which are needed for you to obtain your God given goals.  Statistics have verified that most of the people who are sudden advanced to a higher plateau don’t maintain that status mainly because they didn’t have a written plan that they could use as their guide.  (Refer to Habakkuk 2:2a)

Although some people have very well organized plans – they lack the discipline and the tenacity to adhere to their plans.  In order to change my disciplinary actions, I must change my approach – my mind must be renewed. (Refer to Romans 12:2)  Discipline requires renewal.  Many of us lack the discipline to stick to those tasks that go “against the grain”.  However, we must also realize that some of us would have advanced a little sooner, had we applied just a little more discipline throughout our lives, in the areas that were more significant.

Lastly we must fine tune our ability to hear the voice of the Lord. (Refer to John 10:27) Our ear must be open only to His guidance and direction.  Break that mold that causes you to think that our God is limited in His access to you.  When you know His voice, you will be able to recognize it without regarding the source from which it is being projected.   When you know His voice, and hear His voice, you must have a submissive spirit that will cause you to advance in “instant obedience” to His call.  When you know God’s voice, you must not waste time…Attempting to question His judgment.  An open ear to His voice will enable you to make the proper investments – those which WILL bring a profitable gain.

Yes… God has promised to return the years that: the locust, the canker worm, the caterpillar and the palmerworm have stolen (Refer to Joel 2:25).   This has already begun for many of us! However, as the return is restored to you – how are you going to keep it from being devoured?  One way is by remembering that it has now become your responsibility to be a good steward.  This entails the application of God given strategies.  The application of the same will usher in the assurance of keeping all that has been restored to you.  You will maintain your position as the head and not the tail - above ALWAYS and never, ever beneath…. again!

(Note: By “keeping” we are not implying hoarding, becoming selfish or fear based saving. We must remain focused and use wisdom in the areas of our: time, gifts and talents.  Our ability to remain disciplined will prevent the opening of a door that would permit enemy access!)

“Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.”

                                                     Proverbs 19:20   (ESV)

Prepared for WAR!

Prepared for WAR!

“Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” Ephesians 6:13-18 (The Message Bible)

Power To Press Beyond                                                                                                                    (Written by Apostle Claudia Boatwright ©2003)

Father in Jesus’ name, I thank you for the innate force within me that prompts me to seek a deeper revelation of you.

For my only desire in pressing beyond this realm is to obtain a greater insight of you and your solemnness; thus, enabling me to not walk on the surface, but to have available to me those hidden, partially revealed spiritual treasures that are vital at this time.  These “jewels” are required for me to excel and will afford me the opportunity to properly lead others.

Lord God, I thank you that I have learned to persevere and to press beyond the obstacles, the road blocks and the detour signs - the hidden snares designed to delay your divine will for my life.  Thank you for the courage to press; - that courage which is required to recognize and discern; to subdue and call to naught every demonic and satanic force sent to oppose me on every level.  I now know how to press through and not request that you remove from me difficult situations….. For I recognize that all of these have been foreordained for my advancement.

Since you have told me that the best is in the press, I will press into you at any cost.   I will press beyond the feelings of defeat, frustration, adversity and opposition. I will press beyond the spirits of despair, dejection and rejection.  I have learned that I must press beyond any of the feelings in my flesh, and rely only what my spirit discerns for you. Then and then only will I maintain this realization that in my press, YOU will never deny me.

So forgetting those things which are behind, I press.

Growing and still maturing in the process, I press.

Awaiting your divine intervention……..

I press, I press, I PRESS!!!
