Psalms 23
As believers we sometimes make the mistake of regarding the godly men and women of scriptures as being in a special category. To often they are thought of as some type of superheroes God raised up to do His work. But the truth is they were everyday people just like you and I. The Lord love us just as much as He loved them. They had just as much difficulty and often lonely experiences as we have. David was hunted: Moses was a murderer on the run: Jeremiah was spurned: and Paul faced prison and prosecution. But they all kept the faith and held on tight to the promises that God would be with them.( Deut. 31:6,8) David said even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for thou art with me. David knew that the Lord was with Him.The Saints in the biblical days who was doing The Lord's work, shared the same convictions. When you are working for the Lord under that belief, you possess a zeal and a courage that all the forces of evil will never be able to destroy. As we do the work of the Lord, we may not earn recognition, but we will more than likely face persecution. When that day comes, I guarantee you we can be sure that The Lord will be with us, enabling us to fulfill His Purpose. We can't put those in the biblical days on a pedalstol. They have earned their place in History not as a result of personal achievement, but because they served The Lord faithfully. Their legacy is trusting in God and having the courage to follow Him, even when obedience is inconvenient or difficult, Our legacy can be the same if we choose to trust and obey the Lord.
