Blessings family. I have a prayer request regarding my son, Lyndon Cox, who is experiencing mental health issues and resides independently but is neglecting to take his prescribed medications. He is exhibiting behavior that is uncharacteristic, despite the support he receives from social workers and counselors. My prayer is for these professionals to intervene promptly and provide him with specialized care and attention. I also ask for God's protection, healing, and salvation for my son.

    You do not claim a spouse as a dependent. When you are married and living together, you can only file tax return as either “Married Filling Jointly” or Married Filling Separately. You would want to file MFJ even if one spouse has little to no income.

    Amend in tax terms means to alter, modify, add to or subtract from an original tax form to produce an accurate return. You must “Amend” your taxes within (3) three years with an 1040X form.

    Injured Spouse Form; It’s simply someone whose tax refund is used to cover the past-due debit of a spouse or ex-spouse. The form 8379 is filed by one spouse (the injured spouse) on a jointly filed tax return when the joint overpayment was or is expected to be applied (offset) to a past-due obligation to the other spouse. Filing form 8379, the injured spouse may be able to get back his or her share of the joint refund.
